I'm always on the hunt to try new Vietnamese spots and sometimes have to travel to The Woodlands for work and thought that I would give Pho Viet Tastes a try due to high ratings on Yelp. Searching for a banh mi sandwich with tofu for a quick lunch takeout, I was pleased to see that the restaurant was close to interstate 45 for a quick stop on the way back to Houston (timing is everything to beat the traffic in this area - IYKYK). I ended up ordering both the tofu vermicelli and a tofu banh mi because obviously, you need to try more than one thing. It was fine. Out of the two dishes, the vermicelli was my favorite. It came with a generous portion of noodles, a small lettuce and shredded carrot salad, several large wedges of tofu in a kind of curry sauce, and the classic vermicelli sauce to drizzle over the whole dish. The flavor was good, although what I would consider a slight deviation from traditional flavors, and overall filling. Vermicelli is always a dependable choice and I was satisfied with this dish. The tofu banh mi, however was nothing special. I prefer the bread to be a bit more crispy on the outside with a soft interior and this one was fairly soft all over. Inside, the tofu really needed more seasoning, seemingly cooked without any added flavors except for the fried finish. I added some hoisin sauce but still it needed something more. I'm always eager to try new places but not sure that this one will be a repeat for me. read more

Pho Viet Tastes is a casual spot for comforting Vietnamese food. Service is friendly and quick, even when the place gets busy, and the portions are very generous for the price. The pho broth is clear, fragrant, and delicious. The noodles come out perfectly soft, and the beef slices are tender. The spring rolls are crispy and tasty, though they could use a bit more filling. It's been a challenge finding a banh mi in The Woodlands area, but Yelp did me right in recommending this spot! Both the chicken and beef banh mi were perfection. Perfect bread is a must, and these sandwiches deliver. Beyond that the meat was tender, marinated and delicious, the butter was abundant, the veggies were crispy (some pickled for the perfect balance of acid), and the jalapeño spicy. The cherry on top of the experience was the beignets! I've added this spot to my beignet list, which now boasts 2 North Houston gems. Yesterday was the perfect day to warm up with som Pho. I had Pho Viet Tastes favorited on Yelp so I decided to check it out. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and seated. I was happy to get a booth dining alone. There were a few customers there but it was not super busy. It was a clean and calm environment. I ordered the spring rolls and beef Pho. The spring tops were fresh and crispy just the way I like it. Although it was fried it wasn't greasy. My large Pho came out and it had nice flavor on its own. I asked for some chilli oil and the waitress promptly bought some out. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because I had to take more than half to go. It's a win for me because I love left over Pho! I will say my entire dining experience was excellent. The price aligned with the quality food and service. I will definitely be back. read more

I heard good things about this soup and sandwich shop, so I came one Saturday for lunch to find out myself. Its conveniently located in a strip center with plenty of parking, and lots of other ethnic cuisines. The interior is fairly homely, yet modern with nice touches. I ordered a pork sandwich and their fried pho viet egg rolls since I was not in the mood for soup or a rice dish. I also added an iced tea. Others in my group ordered soup and a coke. Right off the bat, the waitress forgot to bring my iced tea when she brought out the rest of the drinks. Next came the egg rolls, which are okay just pretty standard, and come with barely enough lettuce to make wraps. The sandwich came out next. While the pork has good flavoring, the bread wasn't the best I've had. For the rest of the meal, service was better, which is usually opposite of what is typical for me, so that was a surprise. read more

3.5 honestly. The inside decor was nothing special, mostly felt like a big empty space with tables around. When we got there we were told to pick our own table and they came and gave us menus. The menus were so stiff and would just keep folding closed if you didn't hold down. The food was kind of pricy and just basic and bland. I placed a door dash order for the shrimp spring rolls and the tofu spring rolls. Both rolls came warm and pillow soft. The shrimp was grilled in the spring roll which most restaurants boiled. Both rolls were incredible and the peanut sauce was icing on the cake. I cannot wait to try this place in person and to order a couple of my favorite dishes. Our local Viet place was closing so we were looking for alternatives and I'm so glad we came here. I'll keep it brief: the restaurant was easy to find, there was plenty of parking, the menu was straightforward, the chicken banh mi and spring rolls were excellent, and the food all came out at a reasonable time after ordering. Absolutely the best pho I have found in a 50 mile radius! We've been to a lot of pho restaurants and had many experiences, but this is definitely the best yet! The prices are good, the portions are great and the taste and quality of ingredients are fantastic! This restaurant really knows how to make excellent pho! The location is a bit unassuming, being located in a strip mall. Walking in, the decor is very mild but that's because they focus on their cooking. Based on the rating, I had to try this restaurant. *A good sign excellent food is the amount of GrubHub and a like Food Services picking up food for deliveries. We were greeted when we walked in and picked out our own table to sit at. They brought out menus and we chose the P1 pho, which had everything ( back rib, brisket, filet mignon and meatball) in the large size. The portions were VERY generous and the key to making an excellent pho is having excellent broth which is what this restaurant delivers that excellence! Also the portion of noodles and meats were perfect. *I also want to commend them for making a savory broth that was not salty. It was also served with a side of fresh sprouts, basil and lemon wedges. The Peace Day resistance in this bowl of broth was actually getting a bone with meat on it along with the other generous portions of beef and sausage. The wait staff is very pleasant. They were very attentive and delivered food quickly and provided excellent service. They also kept a very clean restaurant and provided all the condiments and silverware needed to enjoy your fall. The price per person was approximately $20 which included the large bowl of pho, so does and also the tempura shrimp which was delicious as well. I absolutely give Pho Viet Tastes two BIG thumbs up! Oh yummy! Pho is one of my favorites, especially this time of year. I was happy to find this little place while out shopping. I ordered chargrilled rolls and this was the first time I've ever had or seen beef on the menu. I always get the pork ones. They were delish. And of course, I had my gigantic bowl of pho and it was so good. The only thing I didn't like was there were a couple of flies in the restaurant l, but they could have easily just come in with all the foot traffic. The wait staff was nice and when I told her about it; she promptly removed the food/dishes from the table next to me. I will most likely return, as I consider this a "snaffu" rather than an issue. One of the best bahn mi sandwich's I have had. It was almost perfect in every way besides the meat being a little too fatty and too much gristle. The meat though was so flavorful and juicy that it almost made up for it being fatty. The bread was exactly how it should be, flaky and soft, not too much bread that makes it dry, just the right amount. The cucumber and carrots were fresh and crunchy with just enough vinegary flavor.
