Food was amazing! Very favorable, lots of noodles and good vibes! Will definitely be coming back!
Solid bowl of pho. I would say the broth is very beefy if that makes sense. They also have the option for fresh, wide noodles but we just went with the regular noodles. Good portion of meat and noodles. I would highly recommend!@
The pho competition is very high, especially in Houston, but Pho 54 is probably one of the best ones I've had. Tip: Make sure to ask for fresh noodles! It doesn't cost extra and I feel like they taste better. What stands out about Pho54 is the amount of meat they give. Many pho spots tend to give an average amount or skimp out but at Pho54, there's plenty which I appreciate. The broth is pretty solid- maybe Pho Dien's broth is slightly better but honestly, it's pretty comparable. I also love how you can choose up to 4 different meats since I usually only like tripe, steak, brisket, and fatty brisket (not many pho spots have this combo and you'd usually have to get tendon with it). This is my go to spot for pho from now on!
Located in the heart of Little Saigon, Pho 54 is the place to go if you're looking for some noodles. They serve a wide variety of pho, including both beef and chicken options. I had the dry chicken pho (pho ga kho), which I'd definitely recommend if you've never had it before. Dry chicken pho comes with a bowl of noodles and chicken, and the soup in a separate bowl. This was my first time trying it so I looked up how people usually eat it: alternating between one bite of noodles and one spoon of soup. You can obviously do whatever tickles your fancy but I enjoyed eating it that way. It comes with 2 sauces: a dark one that tasted similar to oyster sauce and one that was kind of like a chili fish sauce. Both were great...I suggest adding both to the noodles (I used about half of each). You'll also find chili sauce on each table, which is the third and final ingredient I added to my noodles/chicken to give it a kick. Great food accompanied by a friendly owner and casual environment definitely make Pho 54 a restaurant I would go back to!
Pho 54 is the type of establishment I would bring my family and friends to eat delicious food at an affordable price. Ordered their oxtail pho and oxtail BBH and they were both nothing short of amazing. The oxtail was so tender and fall off the bone. They threw in multiple pieces of varying sizes into each bowl. If you've been shopping for oxtail at the grocery stores over the past decade or two you'd know the price per lb has absolutely skyrocketed so I was super super impressed by the amount of oxtail included for the price, amazing value. Was so stuffed by the end because the bowls were so big, not a bad problem to have :) Service was quick, and they were happy to still serve us despite near closing hours for the night. Can't wait to be back!
Rarely write reviews, had high hopes for Pho 54 but unfortunately disappointed because of following reasons: Their Bun Bo hue is decent but: 1. What kind of bbh that doesn't have mint/purple leaf? 2. The portion is so so tiny, I eat like a bunny so usually a small is more than enough for me. From Bellaire BBH Duc Chuong all the way to bbh co do 2 up north etc I've never seen a small with half of pork hock and such tiny, broken noodles Not gonna talk about the flavor because it is decent.
Really good Pho and Bun Bo Hue! Usually when places serve both dishes, one is not as good as true other but both were exceptional. The pho broth was hearty and beefy and for a small bowl, the portion is huge. However, I do think that the brisket meat was on the chewy side. The Bun Bo Hue was also great, the broth with the shrimp paste brought out more flavor and the spice level was perfect for me. One thing that I highly recommend is the Bone Marrow with the Baguette. The Bone Marrow was so fatty and the meat was very tender and delectable. Overall, 8/10.
Stopped by on a Saturday morning, and the restaurant was lively but not packed. We were seated immediately. Menus were conveniently already set up on the table. Together, we ordered the salted plum limeade (the salty plum taste overwhelmingly beat out the limeade taste) and Vietnamese coffee (very strong and delightful). We also ordered the bun bo hue, oxtail pho, and brisket pho (my order). I loved the light but flavorful broth that wasn't too oily and the lean brisket that was soft without the extra distracting fat. They used fresh, flat pho noodles which I enjoyed too. Servers spoke Vietnamese to me, but there were non Vietnamese parties eating too.
Given how well documented Pho 54 has been in blogs, videos, and social media, it might feel like a mainstay that's been around a while. The reality is that it's been a short handful of years for them, but they've clearly established a presence in a short amount of time due to their tasty fanfare worthy bun bo hue and pho. Kim Son Plaza is blessed to have them in the mix. They've done well maintaining the place with a modern and clean look. After a few years, even the sharpest places eventually have some wear and tear, but Pho 54 has done a nice job of keeping the place looking spiffy. The seating is ample, the bathrooms are surprisingly clean, and the general ambiance is ideal with a mixture of families, young and old, adventurous and curious. Their version of pho gets a big thumbs up. The broth is on point and the meat portions are excellent. Recently I enjoyed their dac biet, which came with very soft tendons, very fatty brisket, and a melt-in-your-mouth short rib. Bun bo hue was also very high up there, with a flavorful broth, and plenty of fixins for a hearty bowl. I don't think the latter is all that spicy but the overall makeup is good enough to make it a consistent go-to. Another pleasant surprise is how tasty their pho ga is, with a rich clear broth and nice chunks of chicken meat stewing in the bowl. Anyone who is looking to mix it up should try their xi quach (bone marrow) with a banh mi baguette it's the perfect fatty dip for a nice savory finish. Prices seem to be average at around $13 for a large bowl of pho or bun bo hue. Since the entire menu is dedicated to noodle soups, there really isn't much to order beyond cha gio and their canh ca chien (chicken wings). Service isn't terrible, but they're not particularly amazing either. I would consider coming here during the weeknights since the wait on the weekends can get long. Bring an appetite and a few hungry mouths to feed and make Pho 54 a must-try spot on the pho-itinerary.
Food was excellent and the portion was large! There was a lot of meat in our portions. Would highly recommend coming to try it out. Service was good. We chose a spot to sit at and our order was taken at the table. We paid at the counter.
Pho 54 was wonderful! The dry pho was something that I don't see at many restaurants. This restaurant was recommended to me and it did not disappoint! I ordered the dry pho ga. It comes with two bowls of sauce and a side of soup. The sauce is meant to be mixed in with the noodle dish. I would gradually add the sauce to the bowl, mixing and tasting as you go to ensure the flavor is right before adding more.
Came here with higher expectations because of the reviews but everything we ordered were little too salty. My friends and I ordered the baguette with bone marrow, bread was really crispy and paired well with the light marrow, a lot of marrows in the bowl actually too. We also ordered the lemon pepper wings, they were juicy and tangy which I like. Then we each got a bowl of pho with meats of our choice. I still give it 4 stars because good amount of proteins in each bowl despite of the size we ordered, very filling, but the soup lacked the cleaner broth flavor. The color looks darker than the pho I usually get from other places, and it's bit more oily and salty. We all had to get refreshers from the same plaza after this dinner. Service was fast and friendly though.
I stopped by with my parents during our trip to Houston! We were feeling homesick and wanted to have some Vietnamese food so we tried this spot while driving through Little Saigon and Chinatown. The service was good and we had no complaints! We stopped by on Saturday evening around 6 PM and it wasn't really busy then. I ordered a Pho Bo Dac Biet and it was massive! It did only come in a large size as stated on the menu, but honestly the portion of meat they gave me was unexpected. I thought they'd skimp out and give me more noodles than meat but I was wrong! Even when I thought I was almost done eating, I kept finding pieces of meat in the soup! It was warm, hearty, and delicious and came with a good variety of cuts. I also ordered a thai tea and it was massive too! I'm not complaining though because I love thai teas and this one was made well. A bit lighter in color and creamier than I'm used to, but still super yummy! It took me a while to finish. Overall, this meal was satisfying and I enjoyed it! This spot did not disappoint!

My favorite place to get pho and bun bo hue! I've been coming here since they opened. I love eating here. Back when they just opened, they were known for their fantastic bun bo hue. I enjoy it more than Duc Chuong because as my husband puts it, it's a lightly flavored broth that reminds him and his sister of authentic Vietnamese bun bo hue from the mother land. Now that I'm pregnant, all I want to eat is pho. I used to eat Pho Ve Dem's pho, but I'm just not a fan of their broth right now. My favorite thing to eat is their pho tai bo vien with bread on the side! Don't knock it till you try it guys. The pho broth is so lightly fatty and the broth is so rich that the bread soaks up the incredible juices and it's a fantastic pairing, in my humble opinion. Since COVID, I'm pretty sure I've been here like 3-4 times in less than a month. I'm obsessed. They have good drinks, great atmosphere, and in a fantastic location. I'm writing this while I'm hungry, so I'm going to go back for more tonight. Pho fo' Life. read more

First time visiting this place, although this place has been in the shopping center for a long time. I went on a Saturday afternoon so they were not busy. I ordered the basil seed with grass jelly drink, egg rolls, and the pho custom (fatty brisket, tendon, tripe, sliced steak). The drink was refreshing and delicious, although a little bit too sweet for me. Next time, I'll ask to see if they can reduce the sugar level. The egg rolls were crunchy and typical; but they were good. The pho was delicious - plenty of meat, delicious and fragrant broth that is not greasy. Service was quick and I got my food promptly after I ordered. The workers were responsive when I asked for water, more napkins, etc. Overall, a good visit and I will go back again to order other items on the menu. read more

Our favorite pho joint in town. We were big fans at their sister restaurant before , Pho Ga Dong Nai, and glad to have them still serving the amazing chicken pho at this location just around the corner. Their Bun Bo Hue and Pho Bo (beef pho) are also really great. Lovely staff and quick service always. read more
A hot bowl of pho on a cold day really hits the spot! The place is clean with a nice atmosphere. There was no wait, and we sat ourselves. The broth before adding extra ingredients was flavorful, which says a lot about the quality of the broth. I chose to do the custom pho because it allowed me to choose up to four meats. The amount of meat was decent, and they give you a lot of broth. The only downside is the proportion of noodle for a large bowl was small. read more

Had their House Special Pho, P1. Broth wasn't as flavored and noodles were all broken. Looks like noodles were pre blanched and sat out too long. read more

1st time and we shared the bone marrow with baguette as an appetizer. It was extremely tender and baguette was perfectly toasted. I had the dry pho ga with steamed bean sprouts, broth was clean and it hit the spot. My daughter had the bun Bo hue and enjoyed it. Also had the coconut coffee and loved it!! Will definitely be back! read more
Came here from a recommendation to try the Bone Marrow soup, and hat a surprise. It was really good, full of flavor and also had meats. The bowl was big enough to be a small appetizer or addition to my Large bowl of Pho that I also ordered. The pho was okay, however the the broth did not feel oily or make me sick from the msg. read more

The menu was very interesting. I saw dishes that I've never seen before. I decided to try the bone marrow soup served with Banh Mi bread. Basically you tear off the bread and dip in the soup. It was amazing. It was so rich, oily and unbelievably delicious. The pho was generously sized with plenty of ingredients. Love this place. read more
Pho ga was so delicious and xi quach soup. Especially xi quach, soup was flavourful and rich. I would love to come back for more. Highly recommend if anyone look for different type of beef pho. Come here try chicken pho read more

Actual rating: 3.5 The broth here is good and flavorful, a solid pho to eat whenever there's a craving. When you walk down any plaza in Bellaire, the scent of pho in the air usually entices you. However, the aroma that comes here is quite weak. The Pho Ga and Pho Ga Kho (which comes with a side of broth) has a sweet and flavorful broth with fresh farm chicken meat, not your typical mass produced chicken you see in grocery stores. The broth is one of the main components of pho. When adding the thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, jalapeño that is served on a plate, the flavor becomes enhanced. The Pho Tai Bo Vien is also solid, my mother enjoyed it very much. However, the noodles were clumpy in hers and hard to separate. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was very nostalgic. All in all, it's another pho joint. Standard staple Pho with a solid broth. You can add whatever you'd like or take away things from the pho, accustoming it to your choosing. Decent pho at a decent price. read more

This review is for Pho Ga Kho only. I have tried multiple places for dried Chicken Pho but I have to say this place has the best one (even though they gave us only a very small bowl of broth). Chicken is tender enough. Noodle was cooked to the right degree and the broth tastes so good. Pricing is decent as well compared to some other places that prices the Pho bowl at $9.50 and they are not even at Downtown. Keep up the good work! read more

Our new favorite Houston Vietnamese soup restaurant. We tried Pho 54 one time via Uber Eats and liked it so much we had to come try in person. The Bun Bo Hue is very flavorful with the perfect amount of spicness. The meat was perfectly cooked (even the pigs foot). And....The Pho is even better! They have a unique pho broth flavor. It tastes rich with an undertone of smokiness. Don't pay attention to the people that rave about clear pho broth. It's all about the flavor and Pho 54 has lots. read more
This place is a gem, I'm so happy that I've found a nice quiet spot to dine in. My friend and I came around 11am, I wasn't craving Pho but another soup instead (my friend was craving pho) so I asked the server what else do you guys have? & they said "We have Bun Bo Hue" and I was like "Yassssssssss you read my mind". I went ahead and ordered it, the food came out pretty fast and I was impressed of how well they presented the soup. Considering this place doesn't specialize in Bun Bo Hue like Bun Bo Hue Duc Chuong - Midnite (which they only sell that particular soup) the quality of it was just as good. I also love that the menu is simple and it's not huge (having a huge menu isn't a good thing). I would also like to add that the place is spotless & very clean. My one critique about my soup was that they could've added a bit more protein in it; maybe I'm just being greedy but it wasn't enough. The customer service is phenomenal and Bun Bo Hue Duc Chuong - Midnite should learn from them. This place will be my go to spot for some bun bo hue, you guys gained a customer. Tip: 10 percent off on your order when you check in, and also for a limited of time free soda/ice tea when you order an entree. read more

The bon Bo hue fell short. My BF Ordered the pho and that lacked flavor too. Their wasn't much intensity in flavor, you needed to add so many ingredients to meet those levels such as chiles, bean sprouts, lemon, shrimp paste. I don't think this would be my go to place, but if I had no other options, I wouldn't mind coming here again. Prices are very good, and they're quick so you'll be in and out within 20 minutes. The staff was extremely nice. Very attentive. The place is clean and they provide extra condiments if needed immediately. This place is just okay. read more

I came here once for their Vietnamese iced coffee ($3.50) because I was in the shopping district, and keep returning. It's probably one of my top favorites in Houston. It's the prefect blend of bitter and sweet. And it's freshly made. Haven't had their pho yet, but I'll need to try it too. read more

My first time here and I have to say the pho was delicious. I normally do not order pho because nothing seems to compare to my mom's homemade pho. But their beef broth is spot on. The godchildren ordered the fried wings which were also good. Will definitely come back for pho. read more

Great spot for Bun Bo Hue. I'm so glad that there is another option in Chinatown for BBH. The menu is simple with two sizes and either the Regular or Special. The Special has additional tai meat, or round eye steak. The broth was fragrant and flavorful. The meat was tender. The Vietnamese coffee was good, but the Nuoc Mac was okay. The nuoc mac has too much ice, popping boba, and coconut flavoring. I would recommend this place! read more

Visiting Texas for little Saigon area and came to Pho 54 for dinner - and I'm so glad we did. Pho and Bun Bo Hue is their business and they sure do a dang great job with the pho. I ordered the small pho bo vien and it was absolutely delicious and large portion size. It tasted just like one of my mom's homemade bowls, so fragrant and full of flavor! The egg rolls also tasted authentic and were piping hot. I also ordered a hot soy bean milk drink and it was a tad sweeter than I prefer, but nonetheless was amazing and I drank it all. The location has plenty of parking and the actual business is small/medium in size, but luckily we came during a slower time (Thursday evening during a pandemic). They also sell some dried meat/jerky that's a common snacking type food for Vietnamese people, which we bought some and enjoyed very much. Price-wise for 6 people ordering food, some drinks, and miscellaneous snacks, the bill was $140 which is very very inexpensive compared to what we are used to in our home state ($7.50 for a small bowl is cheap IMO). I recommend to anyone looking for a pho fix for sure and would definitely come back! read more
