Pho 43 is the place to go if you want authentic, generous bowls of pho and egg rolls! The broth had that traditional taste and was very clear, they took the time to skim off the fat well, the appetizers were flavorful, service was quick. The egg rolls were crispy with mostly meat balanced with other flavorful fillings. The Vietnamese coffee was probably one of the strongest I've tasted, a little on the more bitter side, but a few sips and you're good to go. Yes, there's usually a wait since the place has limited seating and sometimes they even sell out, but definitely worth trying! Wasn't too loud and cozy atmosphere. Bring yourself something to do since there's not much to walk around in the area while you wait. Overall, some of the best pho, appetizers, and drinks in the valley with that traditional and authentic flavor. Also, it always feels good to support your local family-run businesses.
First and foremost I just want to say that I'm an original at this spot. I've been visiting this restaurant since 2005 and ive put people on to this spot and they still showing. The building is a bit aged but they are still serving up the bext Pho in Phoenix hands down and it aint close. I recommend getting the special fasho. The family is super dope and they make you feel at home when you walk through the doors. The is A-1 since day 1 and they aint stopping. If you're not eating Pho at 43 express then you should go run on the I10 east or west til you hit something. Salute to 43 Express for everything we ate here.
I've heard so many good things about this place, I can't believe its taken me this long to check it out. We came on a Monday afternoon and there was about a 20 minute wait for 2 but it seemed a bit faster. Our drinks and apps came out fairly quickly with our food not too late after. The grilled beef rolls were probably the best thing I had. Ive been to different Vietnamese restaurants before but never heard or tried this before and im sad ive been missing out. The beef had such an amazing punch of flavor with the freshness of the lettuce, cilantro, mint, pickled vegetables and the sauce. Truly 10/10 bite. Spring rolls are to be expected. Bon bo hue was good but very excited to go back to try their pho. I was able to get a parking spot when the inside was packed. There is a decent number of tables inside but the turn around in guests seem fast.
Heard lots of good things about this spot & I'm a pho lover so I had to give it a try. Portions were great, flavor was on point as well. Brisket Pho was my favorite & I'll definitely be back to have it again, the broth was flavorful and the meat was very tender. Service was great and the restaurant was clean. Also our leftovers heated up great the next day.
It's First Come, First Serve, and Worth the Wait. If the Parking Lot is Full, so is the restaurant. We Started with Crispy Egg Rolls and a half order of the Bahn Xeo ( single crepe ) For mine, I got the*11, Beef Pho with steak, brisket, and Flank steak. The restaurant is packed with tables and seating. The service is efficient and the Food is Flavorful.
The best pho I have had in Phoenix. Been living here for two years now and I've finally found a good pho restaurant that lives up to my Vietnamese standards. I got the pho dac biet and it was great. We had a large party and ended up waiting an hour but the staff was so nice and gave us free appetizers for waiting. The Banh xeo was nice and crispy!
I've had this place bookmarked for years. My nail gals mentioned this place had the best pho so I knew I had to make it a priority to go. I have 40 years of experience (lol) eating pho and I will say this is probably one of the best I've ever had! I'm going to say it, this might be better than my mom's! Broth was clean and flavorful. No need to add hoisin or sriracha to doctor it up. I did the XL beef pho and it was full to the rim! So worth the price. Also had the half order of the banh xeo and that was delish too. Huge for half an order! Annnd we did the pork and shrimp spring rolls. Freshly made and full as well. Now I see why everyone raves about it so much. I don't think I can go anywhere else for pho.
When the place has a 45 min wait and filled with Vietnamese customers, you're in for a treat! I was recommended this place by my nail guy and since I was off for the holiday, my kiddo and I checked it out. It was after a big microburst of rain, so I thought it would be empty! Not! Everyone was thinking the same as me. Talk about traffic in and out of here! There's not many tables but when you look in, everyone has their heads down enjoying the food! Be prepared to wait and pack some patience! The aromas waft through the building! I'll definitely visit again!
Hands down one of the best pho in AZ. I ordered the Banh Xeo and Dac Biet pho in a medium. As you can see, they're generous with the serving size. This place gets packed quickly and wait times can be long but it's definitely worth the wait. The restaurant is cozy and the service was A1. This was my first time at this spot and won't be my last. If you're around the Phoenix area and are craving pho, this is the spot you need to check out.
One of the best bowls of pho you can find in AZ! We ordered the Bun Nuoc Leo and pho. Both were absolutely delicious and flavorful. I've been here many times and their pho never disappoints. It does get busy during the lunch rush, but once you order, the service is quick and efficient. The restaurant is family owned and the space itself is small and cozy. They also take card, which is always a plus. There is a few parking spots in front. Sometimes the lot can be packed but I haven't had trouble with parking the last few times I've went. Definitely a go-to spot when I'm craving a comforting bowl of pho. Wish this place was closer to me. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend! We ordered pho, vermicelli, and spring rolls. The broth of pho was sooo good, steak was also tender and flavorful. The egg roll on the vermicelli was crunchy and crispy, grilled pork was also good too, the sauce was not too salty, it's a very refreshing dish. Spring rolls came with peanut butter kind of sauce, very thick but tasted light! Great appetizer for summer. The staff were very kind and friendly as well, we waited for seats for 20 minutes even it was 10:30am, but the dishes came out fast.

My favorite pho spot while I was living in Arizona! It is pretty small with very limited seating and located in a sketchy neighborhood BUT it is so worth it! Expect to wait at least an hour if you come on the weekends but it's worth the wait! Parking can be difficult since it is a pretty small lot. It's a family run business and they are very friendly. Their pho was hands down the BEST pho I've ever had in Arizona and closest to the pho in LA I could find whenever i was missing home. This literally felt like a big hug whenever i was homesick or just down in the dumps. I ordered the special and it was loaded with meat, tripe, and tendon! The broth was so flavorful without being too overly salty. Pho was definitely 10/10, A+ *chef's kiss*! It is a tad loud in there so it might be hard to communicate in there. Cute little in the hole gem! My fiancé has been coming here for years and decided to finally take me. Walked in and I couldn't help but feel nostalgic, the pleasant aroma filling the air, reminds me of my childhood. I ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien and first slurp of the broth was a delight! It was already rich in flavor so I didn't add much else besides lime. Portion is generous for the price imo :) Good food, good service, good company. I will come back any time! read more

I cannot recommend this place enough. There is something special about a place where the owners are bussing tables and take the time to come and chat with customers. It is always packed but they get people seated ASAP. The menu has all the classics that a good pho place should have. It comes out with plenty of basil and flavor. I was waiting for a friend so I had just ordered appetizers. Once my friend got there we waited another 15 minutes because no one came to take our order. We were sitting right in the center and this place is small so they couldn't have missed us. We had to get up and tell the cashier if she can put our order in. Ended up getting food poising from this place unfortunately and I was so excited to try this new place. But don't recommend. read more
I've only been eating pho for a couple years now, and Pho 43 has by far been the most consistently delicious options I've experienced. I've found my go to dish with the steak + brisket pho, and only recently have I been ordering the house fried rice. The fried rice could be a meal in itself but I can never resist a bowl of pho as well. For a pick me up at the end of my meal I'll order a cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee). David and the rest of the staff always create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, checking on tables often. The restaurant is small, but they are quick to turn over tables for the next party. The parking can be tricky, but I fully respect their choice to honor their history by not trying to relocate. (and if they are no longer on 43rd ave, could they truly remain "PHO 43"?). I've made it a habit to visit this place at least once a month, only recently have a explored the world of "breakfast pho" to avoid the crowds but I've yet to see a table in this place open for more than 10 minutes no matter what time I'm there. read more

It took a little while to get a table. This is an older spot and doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food speaks for itself. The pho broth is rich and flavorful, the spring rolls are fresh and delicious, and I also ordered a coconut--which was perfectly refreshing. The place isn't big, but it's definitely a spot you need to try for yourself. read more

We come here once in a while or when I'm in area. Depending on the day or time, each time we're there everything is good no complaints and no wait --actually when we're there we have never waited to be seated or had it crowded when we're there. I guess we go when it's perfect timing lol the food is fresh and delicious. read more

Love at first sip!! It's all about the broth for me. This beef bone broth pho scratch-made in this family owned restaurant @pho43express just took me beyond. We needed to find a good pho spot since moving to Phoenix and now we have found it. This is a bustling little restaurant in the middle of Phoenix, but somehow luck was on our side today and we got front row parking and a table after only waiting 10 minutes . Everyone is so friendly and polite here despite the mad rush for noodles. I'll be requesting this pho from family members when I don't feel well, and I need some healing soup. Today the girls and I ordered: TRA NONG (HOT TEA) 32. GOI CUON SPRING ROLLS (3PCS) FRESHLY WRAPPED SPRING ROLLS WITH SHRIMP & PORK 19. PHO GA - CHICKEN PHO 41. BUN BI CHA GIO RICE NOODLE VERMICELLI WITH SHREDDED PORK & EGG ROLL & GRILLED PORK 43. Absolutely delicious pho I've been looking for. Very friendly staff. Seems small on the inside but there's plenty of space for lots of full tables. Highly recommend the steak and meatballs pho. This place really is a hidden gem. It's a little unassuming building and you wouldn't guess the amazing food coming out of here. It's BUSY anytime you go. Right when they open or midday expect a wait as they don't have many tables. We've had the spring rolls, crispy egg rolls, combination rice and Pho. The egg rolls are crispy and served with plenty of cilantro, romaine and fish sauce. Delightful. The spring rolls are stuffed with shrimp and pork and served with peanut sauce. The fried rice had lots of meats and vegetables and great flavor. The pho was served with SO MUCH!! Meats, noodles, veggies and the most delicious hug in a bowl soup!! Finally got to try the famous Pho 43! I happened to be around this area, so I had to eat my lunch here. Came here on Saturday around 11:40 ish, and there were already waitings. Waited about 30 mins. Ordered beef pho and grilled pork vermicelli, they were yum! And their price is reasonable as well. However, I didn't feel that they were like exceptionally good, but their food was better than many other places! read more

First time here and have been meaning to come for many years since I've heard it's one of the best. So glad I went here today to grab lunch and now I'll be hesitant to try other places since it was so good. I ordered the medium pho combo with brisket, tripe, tendon and steak. Also had the cold shrimp (not fried) spring rolls. Pros 1. Love the diversity of the people dining here. Feels like we are in a true city and melting pot unlike restaurants I go to in the suburbs where everyone looks the same. 2. Friendly and helpful waiter (might have been the owner) - tall, young guy with tattoos on both arms. He helped me pack up my pho to go because he probably noticed I was wondering how I'd get it all in without making a mess 3. Pho broth and meat were so delicious. Going to be tough to find a lance as good out here in Phx 4. Portion size is great so I now have two meals from my $24 pho and appetizer order. 5. Hole in the wall from the outside but looks clean and authentic inside Cons 1. The neighborhood looks a little sketch so I'm not sure I'd venture there on my own at night. read more

This is the best pho place in the area. I grew up here and I always come back for the best pho. Everyone is super sweet and treats you like family. The service is fast and there are many options. The Thai tea is also really good, but unfortunately, they don't offer oat milk options for the Thai tea. Nonetheless, it's still fantastic. read more

I've being waiting to come to this pho spot and it did not disappoint! I mean the place was packed when we got there! A small mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the pho that I came for. I suggested this place to my bff because we wanted soup. We are from Cali and were visiting for the weekend. This is definitely our new spot when in town. Definitely worth the drive to Phoenix from Gilbert. The soup was so savory. You really didn't need to add much to the soup unless you want some spice. That's how good the broth was. I know I'll be back every time I'm in town. read more

THE BEST. They have the best Bánh xèo in Arizona! i've tried a few places and this one always makes there's perfectly crisp, thin and delightful. It's served with the perfect amount of bean sprouts inside of it (never too much or too little). The fish sauce served on the side is a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The portions are big for this appetizer so one does it but this day I was feeling really excited and accidentally ordered two hahah i love pho 43!!! read more

Pho 43 you have my heart. This s hands down the best place for Vietnamese food in all Arizona. If someone tell you other wise they probably put raisins in there potato salad lol I always let David order for me and so far everything I've had in the menu is delicious with that being said you definitely need to try the pho with steak and brisket, the breakfast of champions and you have to I mean you have to wash it down with a Thai Tea no excuses so don't walk but run to Pho 43 and thank me later this place has definitely made the must have list no questions asked read more
I like their egg rolls and pho, but the vegetarian stir fry (#51) they made for me was gross. They put tofu in it (even though it doesn't say with tofu on the menu) and used the flat, wide rice noodles instead of the more appetizing thin noodles. It leaked out of the bag, got all over my car seat, and was a total mess. I threw it all away and because of this negative experience, I probably won't be going back. read more

What a hidden gem!! Stumbled upon this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. I read that there's usually a wait but we just so happened to get really lucky with front row parking and seated immediately. We ordered the house fried rice, egg rolls, pork vermicelli, and brisket pho - the food is eyes rolling to the back of your head good! Seriously so delicious, and the staff just make the experience 10x better. Easily 5/5 . We live in Tucson but will be making the drive back often - that's how good this place is! read more

Is the Pho noodles fresh or dry/reboiled?
Ive seen that they keep bags of pho noodles in the refrigerator. The noodles changed a few times since 2020-2022. This was completely a supplier issue as other pho places had same issue.. They are back to their normal noodles. I hope this helps.

The Steak Pho is delicious. They have several different Phos and I've never tasted a bad one. All fresh ingredients.
Do they have Banh Mi? I don't see any pictures of any.
Hey Matt not sure if you been to this PHO 43 but they don't serve banh mi. But Rob don't you worry their pho will make you forget what banh mi is anyways and they have a bunch of awesome dish rice dishes

Aimee B. Was incorrect. The broth in the vegetarian pho is vegan this is listed on their menu! And is NOT made with meat!! Really if your not 100% sure yelpers should…
