I wanted a fish tank with the stand so I went to PetSmart. I had the measurements of the space in my house where I wanted to put the aquarium. There were a couple of aquariums already set up when I walked in so I just had to measure which one fits the space in my house. I didn't have a measuring tape so I asked a lady if the store had one so I can measure the aquarium tank, she told me the store didn't have one. (She was rude or needed a Snicker bar) She was a heavier set lady with glasses. I wish I got her name. Anyways, I then saw a gentleman named Eric. Eric helped me out with a measuring tape that was in the top drawer in the aquarium section. He gave me his opinion and expertise on picking an aquarium. This is my first time buying an aquarium this size. (45 gallon) I had and managed 5-10 gallon tank as a teenager but this was pretty big. Eric told me what to get and what is needed for the set up. From the filter to the water conditioner and even the kind of fishes that coincide together. Eric also helped my dad and I load the tank. I come here often because I have fishes and guinea pigs. I usually get here when there's sales. It just happens lol. I love the people here because they're actually friendly, or maybe it's because I come here so much haha The only thing I wish for are the ghost shrimps :( please keep adding them! Have been going to this groomer for many years and have had nothing but excellent customer service when I take my dogs in and when I pick them up. Today I was greeted at the door, very nice, then I went to the grooming department and the customer service went downhill. I was initially met with a polite young lady who was helpful until the verification of rabies vaccinations. Customer service declined and she went from being polite to continuously interrupting me and talking over me as if I was not a valued customer. After informing her that I had never had an issue like this before, she turned to the grooming manager, making a sarcastic remark. The grooming manager continued with the same information and talked to me like I was uneducated, which I found rather offensive and resulted in my requesting to speak with the manager of the store. Needless to say, they lost business due to poor customer service. It wasn't about the rabies verification. It was about the lack of consideration and the rudeness that will keep us from going back there again. read more

By far the Best PetSmart around. I have been to a few places to get my German Shepherd dog food, treats and toys this is by far the cleanest and friendliest place. I have never been disappointed when I visit this store. Upon entering the door I am greeted by store employees with a smile. I am never left alone wandering, employees are always close by to help. Wish I could give zero stars. Last time I took my dog they gave her fleas. I complained and they refunded me my money. I decided to give them a second chance and took my dogs in and now my dog's eye is super irritated and she refuses to open it, on top of having a horrible hair cut. Also, now they force you to demonstrate that your dogs can walk but they do so my tying a leash around their neck and pulling them. My dog started choking and I yelled at the girl to stop. They assured me they take the leashes off as soon as they put them in the cage. They used to have great groomers but now every time I come here they have new employees (who obviously don't know what the fuck they're doing) which means management must be absolute shit and they can't keep anyone decent. Complaining to corporate does nothing because they refer you to the local store instead of getting their heads out of their ass and actually solving the problem. I'm incredibly angry at myself for leaving them there when I felt something off; don't make the same mistake as me, take them somewhere else. UPDATE: my dogs eyes were worse the following day. I had to take her to the emergency vet and she has an eye ulcer due to something scratching her cornea. My poor dog is suffering and in pain due to petsmart's negligence. I had to spend $227 at the vet on top of the $125 I paid to get my dogs groomed. This petsmart needs to be shut down. read more

ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE BY A MANAGER NAMED CYNDI!!! I went to adopt a kitten for my son who was about to have surgery, he could not hear, and adopted a gorgeous feline from PetSmart for him. Well first, no one even wanted to show the cats, it was like pulling teeth to get someone to come and greet us. After finding who I thought was our new family member, I brought her home with a bunch of new toys, introduced her to the family and (kids and 2 other cats) and it began going downhill rapidly. Our new fury feline began vomiting, not once or twice, but 6 times total. I called PetSmart to voice my concerns and to let them know I have adopted a kitty who is sick and I CANNOT have sick kitty around my son. 2 days before by son's surgery, comes down with pink eye and so does my other daughter who has special needs. I take them to the Dr and I am told, first why did you adopt a new family member so close to surgery because now your dealing with these new issues. So after I got that talk, I got the "you need to keep your son as healthy as possible for the surgery and right now has a virus" So back at home, I call and ask to speak to a manager and I get a Cyndi, I tell her my ordeal and what is going on, and first I have to say just human being to human being, she has no heart!!! Even though I told her the circumstances, she wasnt budging, she said you adopted the cat, its not our problem, you can find a vet.?????? Im thinking to myself, I didn't just adopt a cat to spend more money on more hospital bills....so I tell her, out of fusterastion, that if you don't take the cat, then I would have to be forced to let go outside because I will choose my son's life over this cat. With anger in her voice she says fine and to bring the cat but not after sending me on a wild goose chase. Then this great manager calls the city and makes sure that my family can no longer adopt cats!!! LIKE ARE YOU SERIOUS???? After everything my family is going through, this person, CYNDI, makes a call and takes away my families right to have a pet. 2 of my kids are disabled and we cannot have the service dog that they should have due to my landlord, however, cats are comforting and help with my childrens' behavior and for someone who I explained in great detail the situation, to do that, has no heart!! How she is working with animals is beyond me!! I did call and speak to her boss who agreed she, CYNDI, took it too far and he even called the city to try to reverse the decision but it was to late, so now my son does not have his little friend and we were not able to provide a home to a kitty. After having a horrible experience with my local petsmarts in Antioch. I decided to go over to this petsmart to buy a XXL dog crate. The customer service was amazing ! Karen & selina were extremely helpful . I had called in advance to make sure it was at the store which they were able to quickly check for me . Once i got to the store i met selina who was the one who checked if it was in stock for me she then took me to the cage and after telling her the experience i had with the other petsmart she called over karen who was quick to offer all the help we needed ! They also helped me and my mom load the crate in our car without us even having to ask. Very sweet ladies , will be returning to make any other big purchases, 10/10 customer service ! read more

I've been trying for almost 3 years to get a nice fish from this store because it is so close to me. Every time I go to this store (not other Petsmarts) they have sick, dead, dying, and parasite infected fish. One girl working there even took a dying fish out of a tank in front of me and threw it in the garbage, still alive. I had to leave the store because I could hear it flopping around in the trash dying...it made me sick. Instead of acknowledging the problems, the old fish manager Brian and the new fish manager Chris have both given me many excuses and no solutions to this problem. They blame it on the fish breeder they get the fish from, claiming they get the fish in that way. When asked why they would display them for sale, they don't have a good excuse. Brian even hung up on me on the phone while I was trying to politely discuss this matter, and Chris did something even worse. One day I went into the store and saw Chris talking to the store manager. I went up to both and politely asked why they constantly keep/display/sell diseased and parasitic fish. Chris told me "we do NOT have any fish like that." I insisted they did, so he made we walk him over to the fish to point out the fish he claimed were perfectly healthy. When I pointed out to him the obviously sick and parasitic fish, he finally acknowledged they actually do have unhealthy fish displayed for sale, & claimed that it was not his fault, it was the breeder's fault, and the fault of stress from transport. If that were true (and supposedly all the pet stores in my area get their fish from the same place), then why don't all the Petsmarts have horrible looking fish displayed for sale? They don't. No one seems to be able to part with information about just who this fish breeders/supplier/wholesaler is who supposedly sells unhealthy fish. When I asked why they would keep buying fish from that obviously horrendous breeder, the response was that it was all because of corporate. The general manager acts completely uninterested in this problem,and simply says to talk to the "fish manager guy." After calling the corp. offices, they tell me that Petsmart has fish warehouses. They stock their warehouses through a wholesale fish distributor. Who knows if the parasites come from the warehouse or the breeder--I think they want to keep it this way. That way, no one is blamed thus no one is stopped from doing this, & they can continue to sell these poor quality unhealthy fish to the inexperienced hobbyists. When these poor people's unhealthy fish die, they come back and buy a new one...sounds shady to me. Of course, perhaps there is no sinister plot behind this fishy mess..but if not, pure ignorance is hard at work here, that's for sure. Lack of and misinformation seems to run rampant in this store. Aquarium enthusiasts would shudder if they came to this store and saw what they have for sale and heard the many excuses they try to give to cover up their horrible way of keeping and selling unhealthy fish. The other Petsmarts in my area say they sometimes also get in sick fish, but that they do not display them unless there is no room in the back for extra fish stocked into their medicated hospital tanks. This Pittsburg store also says they have sick tanks in the back, yet somehow they always manage to have many sick fish still on display for sale. I guess it depends on the IQ of the people working that week. There seems to be a high turnover in this store as far as workers go. You know the Petsmart commercials..."where the pets go!".....I think, for this Pittsburg store, it should be more like "where the diseased and parasitic fish come from" or mabye "where the unhealthy fish are" read more

Do not take your dog here to get groomed. I usually go to Brentwood, who've been great with my dog for years. They've been booked solid so I tried this location, huge mistake! I arrived at 11:30am and only one dog was on the grooming table. They said they're behind so it may be 4 hours, maybe a little more. My dog has never taken more than 3 hours. No nail trim, teeth brushing etc, just basic bath and cut. I said fine. 4 hours go by and I call to ask when he'll be done as we have diner reservations for Mother's Day. By 4pm they say. I get there and he's clearly not done, and is the only dog there, and several groomers sitting around. I ask how much longer, and the groomer in a smart as tone says "a little while, maybe 15min" I say I have to go, it's Bern almost 5 hours. He proceeds to tell me I was told it could take 5 hours (not true) an argument ensues and he gets rude, calls me sweetheart, says he's not going to sit here letting someone be rude, puts my dog down on the floor and says "I'm done, call the manager. " Really? Very professional. A lady then abruptly hands me my dog w/o his leash, and I'm waiting there for the mgr. Long story short, Karen the mgr, was nice and clearly not sure what's going on in this salon. I demand the job be finished by our normal salon which Karen says she'll arrange. We shall see if that happens. My dog looked so exhausted and lord knows what they were doing with him for 5 hours. He was the first in and the last out, and still looks a mess. This staff is unprofessional and ghetto as hell. They all look like they hate their jobs. Keep your pets away from here! read more

Will Not Recommend the Pet Grooming service. Too bad there isn't 1/2 star. We have a very mild mannered Rottweiler and understand peoples standoffishness due to the breed. We had her groomed monthly for about a year, and remind the desk that we want someone who is comfortable with the breed. We paid extra for her nails to be ground & not clipped, plus she doesn't like you to hold her paw & will pull it away. We do this to make sure who ever is grooming, because staff changes so much, know what her reaction will be & they are comfortable with the breed. The last two times she was in it took over 5 hours & we had to make them take her back & do her nails. Plus the last time she wasn't even dry, because they 'were busy'. But the kicker was the manager was in the shop and he was rude when my husband pointed out that the service we paid for was not completed for the second time. Now come on folks, we are the customers and we pay for the service. And if you think about it their salaries. Never again read more

I called Friday to get a appt with Krystal who I think is a good groomer I think it's very unprofessional to make these mistakes. Well what can I say about this place . I went with my bf to go get food for our dog. I have a German Shepherd . His a Male 4 months .I am totally happy with a good service they had right there . Also that they have so many plenty food for dogs. All to choose from and the prices are really reasonable and nice. I bought my dog a big bag for only 22$ . I would of given this place one star but the grooming services they have here are pretty good. Other than that, you have to wait super long for anyone to notice you in the feeder section to get some crickets or fish. They usually have just one cashier and the line backs up real fast. You see birds in the store flying around all the time (I don't know if it's the ones they have for sale or just wild ones). I usually take my 3 dogs there for nail grinding but every time I go there they have a new employee doing them and most of the time they do not do a good job. well finally my brother decided to complain to one of the managers Christine who told him that they will redo them. I could not take them right away and when my brother called to talk to her again she was out so He talked to another manager Derick who was very unprofessional, rude and did not want to do the grinding anymore he wanted to do clipping only but I had paid for grinding. THIS MANAGER DERICK MAKES THE STORE LOOKS BAD.he made me take the dogs to the store just to tell me that he will not do the grinding he also look very upset when I got there. I brought my dog in to the grooming services, she has a really short coat (pit bull mix), so she's fairly easy to wash and maintain. Me being pregnant, i just thought id let someone else wash her for a change. Long story short, she was still visibly was dirty (i literally wiped her stomach with a baby wipe and it was brown), they clipped her nails but very minimally (ill have to take her back in for another clipping at her vets), and they were supposed to do an anal glad cleaning, which they failed to address. Overall, it just feels like a lazy / half assed job was done. I usually do a better job myself at home, for FREE. read more

And every time I'm here the other customers are all decent (could NOT Say that about customers from other stores in this shopping center). We just adopted a rescued German Shepherd 3 months ago, and bring our new girl here for treats and socializing. We met Mia a few weeks ago, and have found that she is the most amazing dog trainer/employee/dog advocate, ever! She's been great at meeting and greeting our dog every weekend, recommending treats and toys, and even had us come in for a training session to assess where she's at with her training. I take my dog to the grooming every three 3 weeks an have for many years and only have Monica do Sunnie and she has done my previous dog. She is so good with Sunnie he loves her and loves going to get groomed. The staff knows Sunnie and that makes me feel like they really care. It's a good experience for both of us. read more

*review for grooming salon* I always take my furbabies to get their hair done. Its been 10 years, and they always came home looking whiter(I have two Bichon Frisee) smelling good and with bows. But yesterday they did not smell clean, or look clean. They did not have the complimentary bows, and they took longer than the usual four hours for my two babies. I came in thinking they would be done, but I saw both of them still getting their cut, and decided to watch from afar. I noticed one of my babies was trying to relax, she did not want to sit up. And the leash was around her neck and shoulder. She was hanging there. And the groomer, Anna just let her stay that way. I did not like the way Anna was handling my dog, so I went in and asked if my baby had been coughing( she has heart failure) because the leash seemed as if she was being chocked, because she did not want to sit up. And Anna said my dog was being difficult. My baby wasnt moving around, she just wanted to lay down. So I asked to bring the leash lower, and she did. Why didnt she do it earlier??? My poor baby was probably hurting from just hanging from the leash, and I dont even know for how long!!! I dont think I will bring in my babies here again. After my babies where done Anna was working with another dog, and she was just rude and had an ugly attitude when speaking with the dog. She did not comfort the poor dog, and just seemed frustatred and angry the dog didnt want to get his nails grinded. I understand that some pets are going to be difficult, but as parents and customers who pay, our furbabies should be treated kindly. I do not recomend you book an appointment with her. read more

The only thing i really do at petsmart is get my dogs groomed and get dog food. I used to buy nutro natural choice cuz its really good for the skin and coat (what i fed all my previous dogs too) But around a year or so ago it went up in price alot. like from 30 to 32 then 34 then all of a sudden WHAM $44! That when i decide it was time to look for a new brand of dog food, that was just as good. and i found it AUTHORITY IS IT. I actually get whatever lamb and ricey stuff they got. I like that it not by-product product and that its pretty good ingredients. And when there out of the flavor i usually get i just get the next one that sounds good for Spiker and Sither ( Spiker is a shihtzu and slither and a pug/pitbull mix) As far as grooming goes i spoil the sh*t out of them. I cant stand a smelly nasty dog. especially since spiker humps slither it get's messy. But since they were puppy (there both about 6 now) i brought them here, i tried a couple other places and i found my way back here. I go to the same girl every time and im happy every time. for the person who reviewed above about the not so good expreience i've had similar thing happen with a previous dog at every freakin place i took her. What i learned is that you know your groomer and you ask for the same groomer every time. Your dogs knows your groomer and your groomer know your dog. You just gotta find that person, i tried a couple people here before i found mine. and honestly i never knew i could ask for her till she told me. I took my do in to get her nails clipped and I told them she hates leashes. They put it on her and dragged her across the ground. I immediately picked my dog up and got her out of there. They abuse dogs. Do not leave your animals alone there. Watch them closely. read more
