I took my do in to get her nails clipped and I told them she hates leashes. They put it on her and dragged her across the ground. I immediately picked my dog up and got her out of there. They abuse dogs. Do not leave your animals alone there. Watch them closely. read more

The second time I called I waited a total of 10 min between women answering and asking me to hold the third time they asked me to hold was enough for me to take my business somewhere else. I have taken in my dog at least 4 times & every time I was very satisfied until today. My dog isn't very good with strangers (especially if they're going to clip her nails) but every time she's came out in the arms of the groomer. Today, apparently she wasn't having it & I got a call saying they weren't able to work with her to go pick her up. Shortly after that call the same girl called me asking how much longer because all services had to be put on hold because of my dog. (Exaggeration at its finest) Upon arrival the first thing she said to me was that my dog was trying to bite & that service will never be provided for my dog. She was extremely rude & that was not the correct way to speak to a customer. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. Only way to describe her is as a Mexican middle aged woman. Mike on the other hand said that maybe today just wasn't a good day to be back for a second try. He was so much nicer about it. I miss my old groomer Sammy ! She was great! I take my shih-tzu here all the time and it is consistently a wonderful experience! Tonya always looks and smells awesome, Monica is our groomer and you can always tell she loves animals and she always takes the time to talk to me about my dog. I highly recommend this salon! read more

I mistakably posted my latest response for the antioch Petsmart grooming, that was incorrect, it was meant for the Pittsburg location...here it is: I would NEVER recommend the Petsmart in Pittsburg , ca. The gals in the grooming dept. are primarily young and unexperienced little "brats!" They are rude, and not very customer service oriented. I have had issues with several of those groomers with my three little dogs where they just don't listen to what your asking for. There was only one of them that knew what she was doing. My last conversation with the store manager, Victor, was that Monica would be the only one to groom them i the future. Which was fine with me. I called this morning to schedule an appt with her, she put me on hold for several minutes, and finally the new manager came on, only to tell me that he couldn't force Monica to groom my dogs and that she didnt feel comfortable grooming them. Needless to say, i was taken by surprise, since i never knew there was any issue with her. I thought it was very unprofessional that SHE didnt have the courtesy to come back on the phone. I will never frequent a Petsmart store again, and i suggest to give it a second thought before you take your dogs to this groomer. read more

I took my dog to get pampered in the grooming area. I have to say after this experience I never went back. I made my dog's appointment in advance and they told me that she would be done in 3-4 hours (she's a big dog) and they would call me when I could pick her up. Since this was a night appointment and I saw it was getting late I began to worry about their closing time, I called only to hear that they were closing and I could pick up my dog in the morning....Um no? I told them I would be down there to pick her up, which they had a problem with. So I ignored the speed limits all the way there to be greeted by a very irritated staff. When they brought my dog out she looked like crap but at that moment I was just glad that she didn't have to spend the night in a cage. Over the next couple days she was constantly biting her tail (she never does this) and I noticed little cuts all over her from the shaver. I brought her to the vet and come to find out she developed an infection due to her double coat not properly dried (if the bottom layer of hair stays wet bacteria grows=the biting) So on top of a shitty haircut I had to pay a vet bill due to their laziness. read more

The worst experience ! They encourage you to make an appointment but when you show up on time, they are really behind working on customers who came in without appointments. One time it took them 6 hours to finish my small poodle mix. My dog hates the place and I know why. We're at 4 hours and counting now. No more for us. Horrible customer service! !! This is the worst place you could possibly go to buy fish. There are always dead fish in the tanks. I do buy my dog food there and every time I look at the fish and every single time there are dead fish in the tank in great numbers. I went in today on a longshot to buy cat fish for my aquarium. They had only one variety in stock. A panda Corey. This is a fish I am very familiar with. I took the fish to the register and they rang up as a clown loaches. It would be impossible to mistake the two. When the clerk was called to the register, She insisted that these panda Cory cats were in fact clown loaches, this is despite the picture on the tank that said panda Corey with a photograph of the fish. I walked out. When I called the manager on duty she seemed totally unconcerned. The clerk in the fish department was very rude and completely incorrect. NEVER AGAIN will I take my dog here. The staff are rude and they ignore you when you walk in. I asked a simple question was that it and two of them just blankly stared at me. When she brought me my dog she didn't want to put the leash on and than just walked away. The other lady picking her dog up at the same time got a full detail of how it went for her dog. She said it was 8$ extra for the fall special they ended up charging me 19$ plus the 16.99$ for the bath. She told me an hour and my dog was there for almost two hours when I came in an hour to get him thinking it was done he was just barking in the back sitting in a kennel while she working on another dog um hello you said an HOUR and you put my dog to the side. NEVER AGIAN. Antioch has somewhat good customer service in other places and I'm very disappointed in pet smart grooming. I'll be taking my business somewhere else where people are polite and acknowledge you!! read more

So they called my brother telling him that my dog had been chosen for a demoing or something like that with a professional person that was going to come in and cut his hair. We were not planning on taking my dog to get his haircut anytime soon. My brother ended up taking him because when you call someone and say that they have been chosen to come in your assuming it's free. Well let me tell you what they did. They had him pay after $65 for taking my dog. Their reason was that the person that was going to do it didn't show up so they ended up having to use their employee to cut their hair. That's total crap! I work in retail and if you call someone saying that they been chosen to come in for something, it's free! They didn't even call my number that is on the profile for my dog to even ask if they can go ahead and cut his hair and it'll be a charge. My brother ended up having to pay the full price when he went to pick up my dog. Then they tell him they supposedly gave him $10 off and they didn't. $65 is what we always pay for him. My friend ended up going over there trying to get my brothers money back because this wasn't what they told him and shouldn't have cut his hair without asking us if it was going to be a fee. They ended up giving him back only half of what he paid. They should have given him back EVERYTHING. They said it's my brothers fault for not asking or anything. He shouldn't have to ask when they say he was chosen to come in for a demonstration! We are never bringing our dog back to this place. I get that it's the cold season and you guys aren't getting much business but having to pull stuff like that is very unprofessional. I'm sure there wasn't even a demonstration like they said and just wanted to make money. I hope they didn't pull that on other people. read more

IF I COULD GIVE THIS HORRIBLE PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD . I came in today so excited about getting our first home pet , a fish ! And when I went the fish lady basically told me I couldn't get the fish I wanted because of the size tank I had and I politely acknowledged it and said I have no problem getting a bigger size within the month but after that she insisted that I couldn't have the fish because of that . So I just left . I'm not gonna argue with someone over a fish when i can go else where and have better service . I went here to get my daughter a aquarium set. When I got home I realized that the box was a return item. Upon returning back to the store I called and asked if they had the same item in stock and the employee desirae told me yes. She also had an attitude on the phone. LONG STORY SHORT they didn't have the item in stock, she looked at the wrong pkg. Talked to the manager on duty and she was not very helpful as well. Please try not to take your pet here. I took my dog and he came back with the worst haircut, no nail trim and he was scratching. The groomer later called my husband and said she did not finish and to bring him back in. Well, I couldn't because I ended up taking him to the vet. He had a skin rash. When I called and asked questions, the groomer was very defensive instead of being apolgetic. Horrible experience, but I learned my lesson. read more

Took my pet to get groomed and they did a horrible job. They cut his hair too short after I showed them which haircut we wanted. They also decided this time to charge us extra for the grinding of nails...normally $2 this time $11...My poor dog looks like he's had surgery and has cuts on his hind legs. I spoke to the Manager Derek and he was rude and didn't listen. The girl that trimmed him was Christina. My dog also has not been the same. His back leg seems like its hurt and he is acting very scared :( Please do not send your pets there. What happened to customer service? Corporate will also hear about this and possibly the news if they don't do something soon. read more

please eveyone if you care about your pets do not i repeat do not take them to grooming here or any pet smart. we took my dog to the grooming salon and a groomer by the name of sarah got shampoo in my dogs eye, then put saleen solution to wash it out which you are just supposed to use water and she caused a major infection to his eye and cornea now he is blind in one eye 4 the rest of his life due to neglegance. they didnt even offer to pay a vet bill which has now racked up to over 1,000 dollars nor refund me the wash. its impossible to speak with a dm an coorpate never called back. they have a huge law suit going against them. read more

They are so terrible and very rude...I took my dog there today for a 3pm appt. and she still wasn't done at 7pm, then they took a WALK IN for an Express Groom and stopped with my dog to do his. I got upset and asked them to finish my dog and of course they didn't. So I called the Concord PetSmart and the guy the WALKED IN for the Express Groom was suppose to make an APPOINTMENT, so now the corporate office with be getting a call from me to complain and to complain about the front end manager (Chris) for being so rude and not having his employees do their jobs right, I told him that I would be calling the store manager (Chris, said go ahead and call) and then I said that I will also be calling the corporate office and (Chris, said go call MR. CORPORATE)...I don't know about you but to me where is the CUSTOMER SERVICE anymore and when I was young I would have never talked to customers the way Chris did to me. took my maltese there for a 12:00 apt. quoted 40.00 on phone. at 2 she still had not been done. told my hubby another hour before they could start her. he went to his truck to call me to see what he should do as he had to be at work by 5, and he told them that. exactly 26 minutes later he got a call she was done, and charged him 66:00. all they did was shave her because she had bad matting under one leg( we had just got her from a friend that found her the month before and could not keep her) I just spoke with the manager who told me she got a oatmeal shampoo instead of tangerine and nail grinding instead of clip. well we did not ask for the upgrade!! well first and last trip for me. I always thought you made appointments so you didn't have to wait! well not there! will never go back and DO NOT recommend any one else go there either!! read more
