This is one of four "major" pet stores in the area. The other three being Petco, Pet Food Express, and the other PetSmart, located in Brentwood a short 4 miles away. This PetSmart is in a convenient location with many other stores and dining options nearby. It has a grooming salon, pet training classes, a live fish and small reptile/animal section, and a wide selection of things for your furry, feathered, or scaled friend. They also hold adoption events on the weekend. The customer service here is good for purchases, returns, and phone inquiries. Additionally, the store is well stocked, organized, and clean. Prices are your standard PetSmart. Join their "pet perks program" for additional savings and mailed coupons. I find prices to be lower, overall, than Petco and Pet Food Express. I also love that they carry Nature's Variety dog and cat foods. Although expensive, the fur babies LOVE it and it is a super premium food to nourish their little bodies. The only reason this store doesn't get 5 stars is because we have had to return TWO items, on different occasions, because the product was missing parts. Awhile ago now my bf and I were checking out the neighborhood in this area and came across this Petsmart. We had out lil pomchi puppy with us at the time and saw that they had a puppy grooming special for like 15 bucks or so. We made an appt to go in at 2pm and left our baby there to get a wash and nail clipping only. Why oh why did these idiots clip my puppy's nails so deep that they started BLEEDING??? And then they had nerve when we picked him up to not even tell us!?!? We were sitting there trying to check out and all of a sudden when I picked him up I had blood stains all over my arms! OMG! They had nerve to say it just happens sometimes. BS! I had to put up a fight just so we wouldn't have to pay for this junk. That was so bad. The store manager gave us $25 in credit but come on, those groomers are horrific. At least tell the owners what happened when you make a mistake. Thats the least they could have done. I love coming here. PetSmart as a company is usually pretty dang good. Their rewards system is good, and their staff is always knowlageable with any questions I have. I do wish that they would keep a better eye on the bettas though, and maybe find another method of keeping them rather than in those small cups. I think that would really show that they're a leader in caring about their fish. Their prices are always reasonable, they almost always have excellent sales where you can get the items you need to expand and improve your furry, scaley, and feathery household. read more

Location isn't the best. The workers are nice and welcoming. Whenever I walk past the groom station, it seems as if they're being really rough with the dogs. I know one of the washers there, but she isn't there on the days I see them acting this way. One guy was extremely kind and helped me on a few different occasions. The selections are pretty good. I loved this place. Took my new puppy Peanut Butter that's a crossbred Chichon here for puppy training, dog food, cuts, dye and more. I'll write this review in categories: 1. Pet friendliness 10/10 Staff are wonderful when dealing with bringing in your own pets. 2. Customer Service 10/10 Staff engaged in conversation and showed concern for satisfying people. I've had great service along with Peanut each time we both went in for whatever. They also remembered our names and is always helpful with any advice I ask and with products. 3. Grooming Services 10/10 Peanut Butter always comes out the groomers happy and as cute as a button. They give very good reports on behavior and I've watched the staff do many cuts on the animals. They make sure the animal is comfortable and can handle their treatments. Peanut is a very lax puppy and was always on good behavior whether if it were grooming, teeth cleaning, fur dye or claw trimming. 4. Training Programs 10/10 Only took Peanut to one training program which was the Beginners Puppy Training that was around roughly $100 for 6 weeks I believe. Each week of training was excellent and we learned some tips and tricks into controlling and helping pets. The trainer also taking time for one on one advice and a few pointers is always handy as well. I felt like I learned a lot as well as Peanut. He is a lot more behaved coming out the program than going in. I may sign up for another advanced program now that he's older. 5. Variety Of Products 10/10 This store has a huge range of pet clothes, food, toys, beds, accessories, etc for what you need. That's pretty much all there is to say. I really don't like writing negative reviews but my experience was annoying enough to write something. So here goes. I had an appointment. They seemed annoyed when I came in. I asked for a flea bath instead of the standard bath I booked, according to the little flyer by the computer that seemed very typical. They asked if I wanted just a nail trim or a buffer. I asked if they could do both, for which they responded yes so I asked for both. They told me it would take two hours, it took 45. At this point, still not annoyed. When I went to pick her up i waited in the room for 10 minutes and had to ask someone to help get the groomers attention. The guy had to legit go in the back since they ignored the buzzes. They said they'd bring my dog right out, they brought out a dog that 100% was not my dog (awkward). Then I get the bill and realized the flea bath I requested was just an add on flea treatment? Something I definitely would not have gotten had I known... Grand total was $49, which yeah is hella cheap so that's cool. Just not as cheap as I'd hoped, and definitely not worth the cost.... Oh yeah and they only gave my pup a nail trim - after all that, no buffer! I willl not be returning, I'd rather just go to Petco in Brentwood. (I've used gender neutral "they" because I don't blame the individual groomer and so I don't want to put them on blast here. I wish I had her name but she had shoulder length blond hair and helped me find the crate and mat I needed, found flat beds to help get it to the front and helped ring me up and later get all 3 large items to my van. My review is based on years, not just the day I checked in! I have nothing but positive comments for this Petsmart! I've been coming here for decades (yes decades or close to that) and never once have they forgotten to greet me at the door! They have the best customer service out of any other Petsmart I've been to! Someone has done a good job training this store! You can't be down aisle for long without an employee asking you if you need help. They usually always have what I need. Bones, dog food and treats! What I wish they had in stock is dog collars. Always just a few sizes left in about 3 designs when they carry close to 30! I do like the dog training available there. I've asked for advice several times and the trainer has always been more than willing to give me advice! They adopt animals over the weekend. I always see cats. Not quite sure what that's all about? Maybe the dogs are already adopted. Last but never least is the dog grooming! My pup always comes back looking like a million bucks! Nails did too! Unfortunately I lost my pics to post! I don't normally post a negative review but felt the need to here. I was told by the manager, Joshua, the store was closing in 10 minutes and to hurry as I walked in. Ummmm, ok. I need a filter and a snail. I grabbed my filter and waited for someone to help get a snail. When she came over, I was told she couldn't sell anything alive to me at that time because they were about to close. Mind you I waited for someone for the 5 minutes up until that point. Sorry, but you let your customers in to shop and provide service to them until you are actually closed! I personally witnessed major attitude from the "manager" to other patrons asking simple questions. Sorry if you hate your job, but your customers deserve better. Yes, it was Memorial Day and maybe you are trying to get home BUT as a manager, you can and should do better! read more

Went in to buy food for the cats some of the Friskies Fish seem to be out. But could be a question of supply. More disturbing are the staff in the store wearing masks around their chin. Manager came out with no mask at all. (Way to lead your team ) Other employees did keep there masks on. But if it starts getting too risky can always purchase on line through Amazon or Chewy at the same price or less. This virus is going to be with us for awhile. I'm just really unhappy with all PetSmart these days in my area. I've been taking all my dogs for their grooming services for over 15 years. I recently made the mistake of telling them my dog had a heart murmur a very mild heart murmur but for whatever reason they have blacklisted her. Every time I come to the store to get her haircut they continue to question me about her heart murmur and went so far as had her scene by a Banfield doctor. The doctor said it was fine. But every time I go they give me a hard time and ask me all these questions and delay the appointment up to 15 and 20 minutes. If there is a problem I should have been called before going so I don't waste anyone's time. It's not right to tell the person while they're standing there waiting for the appointment. read more

I had an annoying experience here a few weeks ago w/ an appointment for Dog Grooming being cancelled at the last minute. Last minute being, 10 minutes before the appointment. A few weeks later I decided to give them another shot, but with major concern. I decided to take a leap of faith and schedule another appointment for my Labradoodle-and I have to say, I was surprised and impressed with the final results. The groomer (I forget her name, sorry) gave my dog an excellent haircut, and I'll be coming back for sure. I still have my reservations, but for the most part, they're a good option for the Pittsburg/Antioch area if you have a curly hair breed of Dog. read more

Worst experience ever!!!! Do not take your dog to get groomed here! My dog is about 20 pounds never been aggressive a day in his life with anyone strangers etc. I take him at 4pm they tell me it will take 3-4 hours ok great so I leave. My first bad sign should of been that the groomer looked to be an 18 year old girl that should of been my sign to leave! At about 7 I'm wondering what's going on so I call and no one answers so I decide to drive down there. While I'm in the store my phone rings finally so I'm thinking he's done...wrong! I go to talk to them and they tell me the dog was being snippy with the girl so the grooming was never done. The little young girl so happens to already be off work at this point of course. I ask why didn't anyone call me to tell me and they said they did at 445 ... so I show them my phone I had a absolutely no missed calls or voicemails from them! They had my dog sitting in a crate for 3 hours alone and scared. My dog was thirsty scared and had to pee and not to mention smells terrible!! I ask the manager why no one called me she says we did, bullshit no you didn't and if you did call once why didn't you call again? That young girl never called me she told her manager she did and then left her shift. The manager was of no help she just keeps saying she did call you and I'm telling this manager over and over no she didn't call me but the manager is just staring at me blank faced like she could give a damn what happened. The manager has no idea how to deal with an escalated issue and frankly I doubt she was really a manager, if she was then I understand why this store is ran the way it is. Frankly I doubt my dog was even snippy he is the sweetest dog I really think they don't know what the hell they are doing. I have filed a complaint with corporate and I will take this complaint as far as I can take it! Screw you petsmart!!! Grooming & Training Review My dog did fine with trying to clip his nails, but I was scared to hurt him. Upon asking the groomer here to do it, she comes out and says its impossible because he's flopping around. She took him in the back so I can't say what happened, but now he freaks! at the sight of clippers. Ugh. They should have to do it in front of you. Training with Pam. I was convinced to try training at a store rather than a training facility by her "30 years of experience." I quit and received a half refund after 3/6 classes because I was not happy with her pushing aversive strategies. Prong collars and spraying bitter apple spray straight into the dogs mouth to stop barking. She wasn't happy when I told her "no" to trying the prong collar she convinced everyone else to use and repeatedly pushed the idea. My dog meanwhile wasn't pulling much at all for me, as he was responding to my positive reinforcement training methods at home. read more

They had a few great promotions going on including the Puppy Book full of coupons. Grabbed one of those and then one of the staff helped me utilize the book to a large extent. *Store, training and grooming review* Last spring I took my doxie to puppy classes at this location and had a very positive experience. Pam (I believe was her name), is a very knowledgeable and patient trainer. She really helped me tame my hooligan. She was always willing to help in anyway possible and to offer advice and even better is she did some one on one with each person in the class (our class only had 3 dogs and most of the time one of them didn't show up) and tailored it to our needs. I have almost always had positive experiences at this location. For the most part, the staff has always been helpful and friendly. There have been a few occasions where a staff member has misinformed me though. With this I was not to happy after it happened multiple times with the same associate. Other than that though, the prices are good and I can find a lot of what I need for my dog and small animals (not everything though). I use to take my doxie to the grooming center here. Although I was never terribly impressed with the cuts my dog got, they always did a good job trimming his nails and cleaning him up (he has long shaggy hair that often gets tangled and messy). One thing I did love was how good he smelled after he was groomed. And the good smell lasted so long! You also get a cute bandanna or little bows. One thing I do prefer about this location over Lone Tree is that I always make sure to check out the animals for sale to see how they are doing. I've never really had a problem with how any of the animals are kept other than obvious overcrowding. There was an incident where the rats seemed to have mites (mites are very common and can be found in bedding a lot of the time) but last time I was there I didn't notice anything like that. The animals usually seem healthy and fine, but like I stated in my review for the Lone Tree Petsmart I don't know if I can feel good about myself by continuing to shop here. read more

Please read more bad reviews about this grooming places besides mines. They need to evaluate the staff in this location, the Petsmart Brentwood location is the best in this region. I don't recommend this grooming department. I had made a grooming appointment for my dog weeks in advance here. My dog and I arrived on time for the appointment with Kaylee. She stated my dog would probably grow hair with patches. The groomer stated she "would call if couldn't take care of my dog". I received no call an hour after the grooming appointment, and thought things were running smooth. Thereafter, hours passed I contacted the petsmart grooming department. I was told my dog was receiving a bath to pick her up an hour after. I received no call for three hours afterwards. Assuming my dog was completely groomed, I picked her up two hours before 9pm. Surprisingly, another groomer told me nothing seem to have been done to my dog. She claimed the groomer called me many times. This other groomer was kind to review the phone logs, one called had been placed to me but yet, my phone never rang. Could Kaylee had just dialed my number and then hang up? I never received my calls. When I came to pick my dog, she was barking in the back from frustration of being caged since 9:30am in the morning until 7pm. I don't recommend people to request Kaylee as a groomer for dogs. One of the managers told me they were gonna have the grooming department checked out for technical problems.
