She enjoys Khloe's gentle nature and we like how she cares for her. While I was there, I watched several large breeds being trimmed and was surprised how chill they were. Great training was done with these Dogs. Another came in Heavily matted and looked like another dog by the time we left. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at the PetSmart on Signal Butte in Mesa. I brought my goldendoodle in for grooming, and the groomer told us there was only slight matting behind the ears. Based on that, there was absolutely no reason for my dog to be shaved down this drastically. Not only did they take her extremely short, but they went even shorter than expected without calling to confirm or getting approval--which is completely unacceptable. My mom dropped off the dogs for me, and when I saw the result, I honestly felt horrible. This is not just a "short cut"--it's uneven, way too close to the skin, and not at all what was discussed. If a groomer believes they need to go significantly shorter than planned, the bare minimum is to call the owner and explain the situation before proceeding. I paid $100 for this haircut and feel like my dog was butchered. Grooming requires communication, care, and professionalism, and this experience lacked all three. We are attending puppy class. This is not the first time we've used Petsmart for training. It is the first time the trainer has brought their dog. She said that her dog needs a refresher. She spent more time with her own dog than training. Very disappointed. I'm posting in hopes that management speaks to the trainer A_____. And requests she not bring her dog. We've been using Petsmart for years for grooming for our dogs... we've had 8 pugs total over the last ~15 years. Recently went here with our 2 new RESCUE pugs (2nd timing having them groomed in the 6 months we've had them). We were told is was more convenient, when we called, to drop them off instead of "express service" where we wait. We show up, and our groomer MARISSA was late for our 1pm. Only maybe 5-10 minutes, but that's how it started. Then tells us the rabies has worn off, even though they just had them done in June. So I have to spend 10 minutes finding the proof I showed them the first time, when THEY wrote the dates down wrong. We tell them before leaving, that they are still being "domesticated" and still have a lot of anxiety. We were asked if they had aggression issues, and we said no. But we DID say "they are very anxious, only their 2nd time here, so they will more likely poop with the anxiety." We had a reply of "ok" so I know I was heard. We go to pick them up after about 1.5-2 hours. Our VERY RUDE groomer MARISSA then proceeds to tell me "they hated everything" after I mentioned they didn't like the dryer. She says "we put them in the kennel, they poop. We take them out, they poop. We won't be able to take them again if they do this - they do it twice and they're out!" At this point I'm confused, because I had already told them about their anxiety. She says "We can try express next time again and see how they do - but otherwise no more." Again confusion, as I was told NOT to do express. She says "So not on a Tuesday ever again and not on a weekend!" I'm sorry.... but after spending a LT of money there over the years (through 2 states and like I said 8 dogs), we're not welcome again because they're anxious and poop? Ok then... I shall give my money elsewhere. Everyone else seemed nice enough... but MARISSA was absolutely rude, unprofessional, and not someone I would trust my dogs with again. I would give 0 Stars if I could. Never coming back to this place again. We took our little one in for a shampoo and when we picked her up, our dog just was not herself. She could not wait to get into the car and started crying. Actually crying like something might have happened to her at the store. We took her home and she just didn't appear to be even shampooed at all, so we ran the hose over her and dirt just came running off of her. There's no way that they cleaned her. Sorry PetSmart but you have done a terrible job to our little one for the last time. When I wrote to PetSmart Main Office, there was a no reply. Not very happy with Professional Grooming Service that they offer. I have a 15 year old Blue Heeler that needed some TLC and not even 10 minutes after I dropped her off they say they can't provide the service. It saddens me to see people so lazy that can't help the elderly dogs out. So tired of the way the manager Kristy and employee Hayley treat my family and I. They always have an attitude towards us. I brought in a fish with swim bladder and she asked Jess the manager (whom both don't like me/us for whatever reason when I've never done anything to them because we have been there a lot before) told me I couldn't leave my fish. Groomers are not organized at all. They were completely packed this morning. Seemed a bit overbooked, and kinda crazy given we are in a pandemic. I'm pretty sure there were over 5 families waiting to be checked in and no social distancing. I was asked again for my dogs rabies vaccine that expired in June . I literally just brought my dog in September 5th with her vaccine proof. I was told they would be flagged by corporate if They accepted her without obtaining it. Clearly they weren't flagged last time because Alyssa groomed Ryder 9/5 after her rabies vaccine was expired... you know why? Because I have you her record! If corporate reads this Ryder was groomed 9/5/2021 at this location and her vaccine record was NOT saved. So whatever flag you guys do please do it! I generally don't get pissed about this stuff but the fact that I had to cart my kiddos out I'm a little peeved. Do better guys! read more

ZERO STARS!!!!!! I cannot believe how bad our recent experience was at this store! We only came here because we needed pet food and we had 2 store coupons to use before they expired. Entered the store to find a big puddle of dog pee right in the entryway/exit of the store. You had to walk around the puddle as to not step in it! The store itself was extremely dirty and looked as if the floors hadn't been properly cleaned in the last 20 years! The store also smelled strongly of wet dog - gross! There was also some sort of adoption agency that had dogs up for adoption and there were dogs in cages in the back of the store that absolutely would not stop barking. The barking and wailing was so loud and non-stop, you couldn't even hear yourself think! It was horrid sounding! We looked around for the food we wanted, got our pet food, and then proceeded to look for a pet flea/tick product. We were then approached by an old lady who was asking us if we needed help finding anything. We told her what we were looking for and she obviously couldn't hear us nor comprehend anything we were saying. We weren't even sure if she worked for Petsmart or not - she was wearing an apron, a blue buffalo logo, and did not have a name tag. She then said they don't sell that here, and then led us to a completely different area of the store. We couldn't get it through her head what we were looking for and she just kept saying they don't sell that here. Ummm, we've purchased this product hundreds of times from Petsmart, so yes they do! It was nothing but an argument with this lady, and we ended up just having to walk away from her - she couldn't hear, couldn't comprehend, and had zero knowledge of the store layout and inventory. This lady should not have been helping on the floor - she did absolutely nothing but cause unnecessary stress and arguing. After all this, it got even better at the checkout. Went to the chekout and waited in line. The checker lady seemed to be in a bad mood with the customer ahead of us. It was our turn and she was scanning our items. While we were in line, I could feel something on my foot. I turned around and the customer behind us had 2 dogs on a very long leash and was allowing one of the dogs to sniff all over my foot! I took a few steps away, and she just allowed her dog to follow me! We asked this customer to please keep her dogs away, as we didn't know the nature of the dogs and were fearful of being bitten! The cashier just ignored this issue and the customer with the dogs was allowed to just have dogs sniffing all around our feet! It was disgusting! Nothing was said to the dog owner with completely our of control dogs! We had to stand at the end of the checkout lane behind the checker due to the dogs! We handed over our coupons, payed, and left the store. We looked at our receipt and realized she didn't even use the coupons we gave her! So we had to return into this horrid store and ask for a refund! She was then obviously super irritated with us, yet she didn't scan the coupons! So, then she passed us off to a manager who gave us the refund of the value of the coupons! Finally got to leave this store for good and to top it all off, the puddle of dog pee was still on the floor! We were inside this store a good 30 minutes and not one store employee could be bothered to clean up this puddle of dog pee! What a disaster and embarrassment of a store! I brought my golden retriever to this location on Friday 09/13/24 for a bath and brush appointment and it took them 3 1/2 hours to complete the service. Then, about two days later I notice a wound has developed around his butt and down the base of his tail. So yesterday, 09/17/24 I go in to get antibacterial wipes because it says it's in stock at this store and the "manager/ shift lead" who was on said that the only stock they had was in the back and she was unable to get them for me. So I bring this situation to her attention and I show her a picture of my dogs rash/ wound that he had gotten from their grooming department to see if there was anyway I could bring him to the Banfield in their store so someone could look at it and she informs me that it's most likely not possible for them to see my dog in such short notice and that I would have to contact a higher up manager. So, I ask her for the number of this higher up manager and she says that all I can do is call the store the next day and request to talk with them. This is hands down one of the worst customer service interactions I have ever had. Keep in mind, prior to me talking to this "shift lead" I tried to talk to a different dark haired, male employee for some help with finding the antibacterial wipes and he immediately brushed me away with the worst attitude and said "no I actually I can't help you find it, but there are people by the fish department that can." I then go to the petsmart on Hampton near power road for the wipes and their manager urges me to take my dog into the vet and have pet smart deal with it later. So now I am out $500 because I had to take my dog to an emergency vet at 10pm because this locations grooming department gave my dog a skin infection. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I'd give a zero if I could. We took my service dog in for a nail trim. I specifically said she needs to be in my sight and knowing it was just one girl handling her, not on a table (she's huge). The girl said that was ok and whomever I booked the appt. with the day before. We didn't think it was an unusual request as it hasn't been anywhere else.The first thing the girl did was take her out of my sight! Then they made me feel wrong for needing her in my sight even after they said it was ok! SHE IS MY SERVICE DOG! Then they brought her out where I could see her, clipped her to a tether on the ground right beside a busy door where other people and dogs were coming and going. She was scared! She has never been afraid of having her nails trimmed until today. Because we didn't want her on a table with just one person handling her, they asked us to leave before they finished. Every nail this girl had clipped was cut too short and bleeding! While there they were DRAGGING someone else's dog across the room by its choke chain, DRAGGING and choking the dog who also was scared! The entire grooming area smelled like dog crap and was filthy! I've been a steady customer of this store on Signal Butte for a long time. This was my first experience in their grooming area. I have a mixed opinion about this location. There was an employee who really helped me out looking for some pumpkin food for my dog who had an upset stomach. He located it immediately for me and chatted with me about options for my dog. He was VERY knowledgeable and I really appreciated his time and input. It was Christmas eve as well so very busy. However, I also have leopard geckos, and almost every single time I go, they have no crickets and are almost out of mealworms. The mealworms I have bought out of the fridge have ended up dethawing and ALL being dead. Subsequently I don't have any food for my pet, who just has to STARVE until I can get to the next store that might have live bugs for them to eat. I doubt this is an employee issue because everyone at this location is very nice. read more

I took my dog in for a bath, comb/brush out, have his teeth brushed and nails trimmed. The groomer said about 4 hours. 45 minutes later she said he was ready. I don't think they did anything. His nails weren't cut, still smelled, teeth had not been brushed, certainly no comb/brushout. I paid $70 for an hour's dog sitting. Won't be back, don't plan on recommending. read more

So my mother and I went and bought a dog bed and a dog gate. The dog gate did not work so I went to return it with the receipt! When I arrived the cashier was rude as well as Jamie, male supposed manager. They told me that even tho I have my brand new product and the receipt that was paid with a debit card they wouldn't return it unless I had the original card. What??!!?? The return policy clearly states w a receipt cash is given with a receipt paid by debit. They would not! I had to leave and drive all the way to my mothers house to get her and her card and drive all the way back to the store!!! Just to get the cash I should have received in the first place!! I've been looking for a groomer for our Old English Sheepdogs. Majority of groomers are booked for months or not taking new clients. The reviews on Pet Smart groomers wasn't very promising, but I needed them groomed. I was able to get both dogs in right away. I don't get them groomed together. Fernando did one Sheepdog, who had to be shaved due to knotting. I already knew this and recommended it, he agreed. He did a great job shaving her down and grinding her nails, no issues. A couple days later Morgan did the other sheepdog. This sheepie only needed to be cut down about an inch all over to shape her up. Morgan did an awesome job as well, no issues. I would highly recommend both groomers. Were they busy, yes. Were clients rude to staff because they were busy, yes. Dogs were both there 3-4 hours. This is not new to me. We travel quite a bit and I have never had a groomer call me before the 3:30hr time frame for the dogs. My recommendation is they put a sign on the door saying only 1 client in waiting room at a time, unless asked to come inside by staff. It gets very crowded when people are signing in their dog. Some dogs are nervous going to a new place or being groomed. I waited outside for person ahead of me to finish. The person behind me with their little dog came in with me. My 60lb friendly dog turned around, took a step and the 10lb dog started screaming like it was bit. She should have waiting outside and not put anyone in that situation. They used to have a sign up, but someone took it down. They tried to tell clients to wait outside until called but people got irate. I do recommend grooming there. I was there at the store at the 3hr mark and waiting for them to finish up. I didn't want them crated waiting for me once I got the call they were almost ready. read more

Worst experience ever at the Petsmart Signal Butte grooming. Every time I would make an appointment they would cancel the day before because a groomer called in sick or they overbooked. When I finally got my dog in for his appointment they said he had to be shaved due to being matted. When they shaved him they cut him with their shaver. He had nick's all over his body and they never cut his nails like I paid for. Stay away from this groomer. They are lazy so will tell you what needs to be done with your dog to make it very easy for them. I should have listened to my neighbors and kept him away from this place. Also, do not trust anything Stevie (groomer) says. We ended up making a complaint to the corporate center and they said they would reimburse us the service we paid for because they saw the pictures of all the nicks they put on our dog. I'm giving two stars because my first time in was good. I took my puppy to the groomer for a Pawdicure package. They told me it would trim her nails, clean her ears, brush her teeth, and as a bonus pet perfume and a bandana all for one price. Great! The staff was friendly and our dog was happy. Not only did they give the bandana but they put another bow on her collar. It was nice. We came back a few weeks later with different groomers. I asked for the same package. She came out without her teeth brushed, no bandana or perfume (fine ) and who knows if her ears were cleaned. I didn't notice until I got home so that was my bad. The big issue I did have was a few days later I saw they missed a nail that was way way longer than the rest. We returned and I brought up my concerns. I told them I had experience the same price both times but seemed like two different packages. They assured me they would take care of her. We walked around the store for a minute and went back to the grooming area. I saw our dog sitting in a pile of another dogs hair. Really? The employee was on the computer probably printing her receipt. I walked right in to get her because thats gross. She came back to us covered in another dogs hair. Ridiculous! Of course, no bandana or perfume either. What a joke. Management really needs to work with these guys. Time to take my business elsewhere. read more

It's bad enough that your clinic let's puppies die by not filling prescriptions in a timely manner, and don't care about emergency visits unless you wanna fork over the money (like people have $250-$300 just sitting in their wallet, ESPECIALLY right now), but now you're okay with letting a dog suffer. I brought my dog in because he hasn't gotten the best care from the person who surrendered him. Had his rabies shot, and took him in the next day for a groom, especially to clip his nails. I was blown away by the employees at this location! They were absolutely wonderful. We got a new puppy and had to take him in for shots. We chose the clinic at this location. The vet staff were amazing. Explained everything, answered all our questions and helped us set up insurance for our new puppy. Handled our puppy with amazingly. After the appointment we walked around the store with our pup and everyone was so helpful. Showed us where all the items we needed were at. Super friendly, followed all covid guidelines, clean store and was so nice to people who actively enjoyed their jobs. I've been to several petsmarts and normally we just get your average greeting and then you never see anyone or when you do they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. I've been bringing my dog here for baths and nail trims for a while and they do not fully dry his fur and I pay extra for the package that includes the bandana and they've been forgetting it for a while. When I came to get my dog, they brought him out scared shaking and generally not happy. He doesn't smell clean nor is his coat evenly clipped. Very disappointed with the staff, we take our dog to get groomed all the time and i know they have a policy that if your dog doesn't have their shots they can't get groomed which is totally understandable no problem. Well i had an appointment made and the day off the called and canceled it because they said my dog didn't have her shots up to date. Well she does and i took the paperwork in before the appointment and whoever was working did not enter the information in. They called the day before to confirm the appointment and didn't even ask about shots, so that i could say yes and take the paperwork in. They just canceled. Never taking my dog there again. both of my dogs have been groomed here for YEARS and recently my oldest dog has become more anxious when being bathed and groomed, but never tries to nip. In July I was told he was very anxious and would not sit still so he was unable to finish the grooming and I wasn't charged. He suggested going to a smaller salon or even mobile grooming. I recently checked with my vet( thru Banfield) and she prescribed Trazodone to calm him during grooming so i went online to schedule him and again and found I don't have that option anymore so I called and was told they can no longer accept him due to their "older dog policy" and that he is in danger of being groomed around other dogs due to the "stress." My dog has always moved a lot when they groom his face and paws but its not un-manageable and now being sedated they won't even consider it. It is very inconsiderate that I was not told that my dog would be "black-balled" from their grooming services. Needless to say, I won't take my other dog there anymore but they won't notice the difference anyway. read more

DO NOT LET YOUR DOGS GET GROOMED HERE. I am posting this off a $2,000 vet bill AND COUNTING. I got my 3 dogs hair cut on Wednesday January 12th. They came home and one of my dogs was obsessively licking his private areas. A few days later he was pooping blood. Took him straight to the vet where they did X-rays, blood work. The whole deal. The vet pulled out a LARGE ripped off cloth from his anal glands that had inflamed them SO much he had to be put on medication and pain killers. And that wasn't even the WORST part. All three of my dogs have contracted Giardia! I work from home due to covid and we haven't left the house in MONTHS aside from walks. the vet and I both are 100% convinced they got this parasite from this groomer. If you don't know what Giardia is LOOK IT UP. It is a NIGHTMARE. I am throwing away all their beds/ toys and try keeping 3 dogs that do everything together separated all while dealing with explosive diarrhea and vomiting. I am beyond furious at the negligence of this grooming facility. At the very LEAST. CLEAN THE PLACE UP! Can't believe I left my dogs here. Never again. Save yourself the time and money. I have been to this location ONE time, and one time is enough. This review isn't about the grooming services, because I'm not going to base it on one time. It is; however, on the grooming services customer service, or lack thereof. We recently moved and the Signal Butte location was closer. I previously went to the East Mesa one on Hampton, and LOVED their services. They would always call before my dog's appointment as a reminder. This location? Never. They call at the time of the appointment instead. Not sure how that's helpful. I had to reschedule my appointment, for this morning at 9 am. I get there a 9 am, and the signs on the door say the grooming salon is closed indefinitely. Who doesn't call to let their clients know they'll be closed? Thanks for the wasted gas money I could definitely use right now. Completely unprofessional. If I can't trust you to have customer service with me, how can I trust you in the care of my dog? I will NEVER be returning to this location, and have already booked with the one on Hampton. The manager at this location should be ashamed. What an embarrassment. Unfortunately the grooming dept. delivers inconsistent service... I had not experienced the terrible side of that until today. We booked an appt for our two dogs (never usually a problem), had to wait about 10 minutes outside the door which was alright our dogs just got a little antsy. The woman working in there I didn't catch her name but she had a bright colored ponytail, she was very rude and unprofessional and there was just no way I could trust her to care for my dogs after that. She said she doesn't do things the way all the other groomers do... very sad about this event today but shout out to the other groomers we've had in the past! read more
