I've taken my dog there for a year. Every single time there is something wrong. This time they didn't trim her nails so I took her somewhere else to get it done. Last time they kept her four hours, needed to use two people due to her anxiety, charged me for two people and didn't even explain why. The time before that they did a hand trim that I didn't request and charged me for it. This last time they had her name wrong when I walked in the door. Very sloppy business. I am changing groomers. For my German shepherd they raked his coat so hard during the deshedding treatment he had visible scratches and red marks down his body. This was our second time at this groomer. First time was great and got exactly the cut we wanted. A few weeks ago I dropped my dog off, waited outside for 10-15 minute because their lobby was full which I don't mind. When I entered, the groomer asked me how short I wanted it, I said the first time I was there the groomer stated she could only get about an inch off, cleanup trim, without damaging his undercoat. This groomer disagreed saying that she could shave him down to a 10 or 7 (refer to photo) I explained I did not want his hair short by any means because I've been told by multiple groomers that shaving him down that short would not be good for his coat at all. I specifically asked for a cleanup and made it clear I thought. I didn't even want his length anything less than a 4 and we agreed on the level 3 which I saw her write on the paper. I felt rushed out the door and felt uneasy about our conversation. My partner picked him up and my dog is completely unrecognizable, I think the photos speak for themselves. Groomer told him I asked for a 10/7. I am not the one to complain however, this was just upsetting at how Short they cut when I specifically said I wanted to keep his hair length longer. I did speak to the owner which she apologized for the miscommunication however I don't appreciate that they tried telling me I asked for a 10/7 cut and received a 3. The photos are clear that he did not even receive the 3 level cut and his shave is even patchy. read more

Do not recommend. Poor management. Last year we scheduled our dog Fitzy a month out. We called to confirm our appointment and the response "I am sorry we don't have you listed" it appears when you call they write it down and then it seems to disappear. When we finally rescheduled they butchered her belly. (One of the reasons we took her there is they don't kennel) we made an appointment April 13 2023 for today May 13 and guess what??? We called last night to confirm and no appointment and they can't fit her in. Well... It was always.. about 10 miles... We saw a new place in the Sprouts Shopping center on Queen Creek... They couldn't fit us in until Tuesday and it's only 1.5 miles and the owner was very helpful. Things happen for a reason. If you go to elite pet spa.. confirm your appointment a couple days ahead. This review is mainly due to the fact they don't seem to care to follow up or pay attention. Took my friend's Pom here, told them they cut her private last time so be careful. They again shave her too close and irritate her stomach and vagina to the point that she won't stop itching it. Now we have to pay a vet as it's pretty red & inflamed. Also grooming took like half a day & they didn't say ahead they let dogs roam free together without even checking health certificates which we don't appreciate as anything can happen. I have never written a review for any company before good or bad but felt convicted to do so. It is with great disappointment that I write this. I have been taking my dogs here for many years and have been very satisified but this last experience has forced me to go somewhere else. I brought my 2 pups in for their regular bath and tidy (1st time for my younger pup) and shed out for Daisey my 2 yr sheperd mix because she tends to have a lot of loose hair. When I brought them home Daisey was acting extremely different. She laid in her bed all day and refused to eat. She didn't even want to go on her daily walk. My younger pup Bleu was fine. The next 2 days Daisey was worse and it became very clear to me she had a fever. I brought her to her vet, Lifecare Animal Hospital. She had a fever of 104 and when the tech placed her hand on her back while listening to her heart she yelped in pain. Her vet determined she was injured by who ever shed her out at the Elite Paw Spa. She was experiencing a fever because her body was trying to fight off the extreme pain she was in. They put her on pain meds and anti-inflamatory meds. She also has tuffs of hair coming out which is from sores all over her back and sides. It was awful to see her in so much pain. I called the Spa to let them know. I explained to Desiree what happened. She was very nice and concerned and said I will let the owner know I am sure she will call you back right away. I know mistakes happen but wanted to let them know so it didn't happen to anyone else's pet. I was told the owner would call me back. She never did so I called again. Again they said she was with a dog and would call me back in 15 mins. She never called back again. I left a message on their website telling them again the situation and again no one called. It makes me very sad the extreme unprofessionalism of the owner. You would think they would want to know if something like this happened to one of their customer's pet. I understand it is a difficult situation to have to deal with. I just wanted to make sure it doesn't happen to someone else. If you can't deal with difficult situations head on in your business then your business will not last. I hate to say I will never bring my pets here again and will tell everyone I know the risks of having them groom their dog and the unprofessionalism of this owner. read more

Today was our first visit to Elite. I have to say, of all the years of grooming our dogs prior to moving here, this was by far the best grooming my lab has ever received. Elite paw spa, Not only was I disappointed with how long (8.5 hours) it took to groom two 15 pound dogs, but when I got home I realized a few things. Let's start with the puppy, that in their voicemail stated was feisty and difficult. Her head wasn't even touched, and her belly was still hairy. I paid $50 a dog for this service. Now comes the worst part, the other dog, Rylie (who is a breeze with grooming) had not one, but TWO cuts on her nose. One was right next her snout, and the black pieces were sloughing off, and on the bridge of her nose was a huge cut. The worst part is, they didn't tell me about any of this. I was left to discover it myself, which angered me even more. If they had told me they cut her, I would have been more understanding, but to find it, and not ever mentioning it made me less understanding. The customer service leaves much to be desired, and will definitely never return, nor would I ever recommend them. I never ever write bad reviews... but I was just so livid after my experience. I gave myself a couple of weeks to calm down about this and not post a review while my anger was fresh. But Unfortunately, I can't get over this. My old cat was matted, I understand that and take full responsibility for it. She's old and cannot groom herself anymore so I've never had to get her groomed. I brought her home and noticed she was moving different. Wouldn't sit down or jump on the couch. After checking her I found cuts all over her body. And I mean everywhere, even in the places that weren't matted prior to the cut... (Like on her tail?!) I spoke to them hoping for something other than blame. I told them that I specifically brought her to them so this wouldn't happen. Like I said, I get that she was matted but not enough to have clipper burns and missing chunks of skin. I emailed them as well and again, I was blamed for their mistakes. I am not the one who skinned my cat. Just own up to it, tell me what you're going to do to help me, and educate me on what I can do better in the future. Learn better customer service. I was not given a disclaimer or a call saying that there was a chance her skin would be clipped. If I had been given any kind of notice that my cat would've been burned or cut at all, I would've respectfully taken her somewhere else. I get it if it was maybe a couple of nicks but these are full wounds that I now need to ensure won't get infected! I am still so heated about this experience. read more

I have taken my little dog here several times for his shaggy fur to be shaved & am very happy with the service. My dog gets to be with other dogs before/after he is groomed instead if in a kennel. I brought our two furbabies in to get their nails trimmed. No appointment necessary and they take walk ins for nail trims. I thought they were a bit pricey for a nail trim, and they also didn't trim them to the edge like most places do that I've taken them to. I have been to the Mesa location previously but this location is more convenient so I decided to try it. I drove to the address listed on their website to discover they were not there. The location is empty. So I tried to call. Six times. Each time I got "voicemail is not setup". I finally called the Mesa location to get the Gilbert location address and was given the cross streets. I drove around for 10 minutes because they have no signage up despite having moved 8 months ago. I lightly mention this to the person checking me on and her only response was "phones are out". They did an okay job with the grooming. Her paws fur is unevenly trimmed. She was clearly not given access to water as she drank an entire bowl when she got home and wanted more after that. Picking her up I had to repeat multiple times which dog I was there for as the employees looked at each other in confusion. The gal checking me out didn't know how much to charge me as they were "unable" to perform all the services requested. read more

I have a Havanese dog and my husband took him to the Gilbert location to get him groomed. We have never been there before, the location is not even close to our house to begin with, the only reason we would want to try it out elite paw spa in gilbert because on Google showing they got 5 stars rating. At first the lady said will cost $40 to $50 for our dogs, when my husband pick him up, Michelle, the owner of the place also the one cut our dog hair, she said his hair is so tangled so it Was to be$50 also he tipped her $10. I would think my dogs should look beautiful. When I saw his hair cut, I got so upset, our dogs look terrible. She didn't groomed his hairs, she just shaved it off, he only have a quarter inch left. When I called the place back asking to spoke with the owner, she told me it is not her fault to cut his hairs that short. She said she told my husband at the beginning that our dog's hair is so tangle she would have to cut it short then why when he pick up our dogs she said she have to charged $10 dollars more because she have to groom his hairs more. She didn't groom it she shaved it off. I strongly advise people not to come here for your dogs service.They have done a terrible job, not good customer service at all. I'm also an salon owner I know how customer service should be. We own 2 miniature poodles and have tried every groomer in the valley. We live in chandler but take them to Scottsdale, it seems no one was able to shape symmetrically, ears different lengths, feet trimmed with hair fizzing out and hair length different on each side of dog. My wife was never happy with their cuts. Problem is driving up to Scottsdale for a freaking haircut. So we tried out Elite Paw Spa and were happy beyond belief. Erica and Sarah took our two girls and worked wonders. Show quality cuts and at a really affordable rate. They treated our "kids" like their own and did a beautiful job.
