BEWARE..... Took my dog in to get groomed. Nail grid, bath teeth brush. Appointment time was at 10:30, by 10:45 I receive a call (on my phone) stating "that his nail was split and bleeding something they didn't notice when I dropped him off" I said he was fine when I dropped him off. I instructed her to leave it alone and I'd be right there. Before I could get there they had called my husband @ 11:02 (which is odd because I specifically verified my # before leaving) stating he was ready for pick up. Walking in I thought it was odd the 2 girls I dropped him off with were standing at the check in counter with my dog waiting for me, with my invoice already to go. Now I've been going there for 5 years and no ONE has ever had him up front, invoice ready to go. They point out his nail, I stated that it was not like that prior to drop off. I leave, get him a treat, check out and make my way to my truck. Once to the truck I noticed now his nail was bleeding. I called my vet the instructed to bring him in. 362.00 later they had to sedate him an remove his nail. Bet stayed " they gridded/ cut his nail wrong" call Petsmart back where I got nothing but it wasn't like that when he left. At that point the manager continued to tell me they reviewed the videos and seen no blood, nor was he limping. To witch she just continued to repeat offering nothing more. Now this is the 2nd time this has happened. The 1st time they split it right down the center. But I couldn't prove it as I didn't catch it right away and assumed he did it playing in the yard. If I could not give any stars I would. My sister and I just bought a puppy and he is 4 months old, my mom signed him up for the training class. So, today the day of the class we arrived 10 mins early. SEVERAL employees walked passed us and didn't even acknowledged us, not telling us that the class was canceled until July until we were there waiting for 30 Minutes. Then the associate who acknowledged us, told me they called everyone and emailed, but obviously we were missed and we were not the only ones!!! COMMUNICATION ISN'T THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I do not like this particular Petsmart at all and hope that they make some changes. First off the fact that they have 1 door next to the register they seem to use makes it hard to get in and out, especially with a pet. Secondly, the main aisle in the store does not allow but 1 person in it. If someone is looking at the Martha Stewart stuff, then someone has to wait until they move to get around them or have to go down a different aisle to get somewhere. The grooming department is good, but nothing special. Most employees don't seem happy to be there. I feel like it's mass confusion when dropping off my pet or picking up afterwards. The PetSmart training class conducted by Jennifer Hahn has been a huge help for me and my two dogs. I met Jennifer, the PetSmart Trainer, in the store's isle while trying fit muzzles on my little dogs. I explained that I was having trouble with their over re-active behaviors. They seem to be stuck between extra shy and aggressive sometimes. I was feeling very insecure taking them anywhere or having people over to the house because of this, and was looking for a tool to help over come the behavior problem. Jennifer talked to me about training the dogs. That sometimes giving the dogs confidence through learning might help, and suggested I try her new beginners class. I enrolled my female (the more problematic of the two) and after 6 weeks of classes, she was a totally different dog! Jennifer was very good at explaining the lessons. She made sure we understood with hands on demonstrations of each step, and stood by as we practiced, making sure we did it correctly. My little female has learned all the basic commands and is much more willing to greet people and be petted, and much less re-active all around. I'm so glad we chose this option! I've enrolled my little male and he is also doing very well. I'm very grateful we met Jennifer that day, now my dogs and I have so much more confidence. We go places together and have friends over without fear! read more

I would love to give this location a five star rating, as the girls were very kind and they did a great job bathing and grinding my dogs nails in a timely manner. But the problem is with corporate, they obviously wanted to take advantage of the Covid-19 situation and make an extra buck. No more just clipping or grinding nails, they must bath the dogs first in case "the dog is carrying the Covid". What make this even more absurd is that the employees do not wear masks. Which is fine with me, the problem is if they must bath the dog for possible Covid than you would think that corporate would at least play the part and have their employees wear masks. read more

Visited this store today. Shopping carts were filthy with debris in most of them. Several customers in checkout line without masks. I asked the checkout clerk why they are not enforcing the mask mandate for Mesa. She said they only require the associates to wear masks. If customers don't want to wear the they do not enforce it. Management needs to get this store in order and offer clean shopping carts, and comply with the COVID standards for Mesa shop owners. WORST customer service ever! VERY disappointed with the GROOMING staff!! I had an appointment, and when we walked into the salon 3 ladies at the front desk didn't even acknowledge us for 12 minutes straight. Then finally they gave me papers to fill out. Then all 3 of them just left!?!Leaving me and my dog in the salon alone not giving us any information on anything... for 15 minutes. Came into this location this evening with my husband, son and puppy. We were pestered by a female employee who asked us FOUR times in a 5 minute window, if we needed any help finding anything. We then heard her radio in to another employee something about us. Never have we felt more uncomfortable trying to browse and get a few things for our puppy. She basically made us feel like we were being watched and followed by her. I finally got fed up and said to my husband loud enough for her to hear me, that if she bothered us one more time, we were going to leave our basket and go buy his stuff elsewhere!!! The lady named Rene that most of the time works at cash register 1 is never friendly. No Hello, no friendly smile; just looks at you like 'What do you want?' She makes me uncomfortable and dreading going in there requesting my online orders. When I'm being helped by someone else, it's blank stares, empty responses, and quick to get you out of their faces. I had other questions I wanted answers about what would be the best toppers for my dog because she's a picky eater. But because of how they behave towards me and not to other customers (they treat them better), I used to wonder why. Now, I kinda don't care. I treat them the same way they treat me. No Hello's, no How are you's?, no smiles, no nothing. It's uncomfortable wanting their help and them reacting like I'm bothering them. I took my cat here to be shaved and was even prepared to give an excellent tip... Until I picked him up. I was told that the service would cost $61 and included bathing, nails, and teeth. When I dropped him off they said it would be about two hours, which I thought was pretty fast. Thirty minutes later I received a phone call informing that he was ready to be picked up. When I got there the cat groomer was gone and the other two employees were extrmely rude having "forgotten" what the groomer told them. My poor cat looked absolutely horrible, his shave job was choppy with chunks of hair still falling out, they didn't bathe or clean him in any way, they didn't even try to so much as brush the cut hair off of him. He had patches all over and his mane was the worst. I asked what happened and they weren't sure, but said they thought the guy who was holding him down had his hand grazed by my cat's tooth so they considered it a bite and it is their policy to stop services once that happens. holding him down, really?! I calmly stated that his shave job appeared to be very choppy, to which I revieved a reply of "it's a cat, shaving cats always looks like that, they aren't dogs". Then they handed me a bill for the full price and said they would have the groomer call me when she was back... I still haven't heard from her. This location has on several occasions had expired promotions/coupons/pricing on the shelves. The first time ok, it is a mistake, but the second and third, it is just annoying. Then when you get to the register with the coupon that you took from their display, they make you feel like you did something wrong by having it. The attitude is not necessary especially when it was their mistake. I like petsmart and don't seem to find this problem at the other locations. Maybe this one is just to poorly staffed to keep up. They never seem to have more than one register open even when there is a line of 5+ people to check out. read more

I give 5 stars for the Store Manager. We had a horrible experience at the grooming salon, as our dog was cut very short (which we requested) However, he came home with a bleeding slice, that was covered with one of the stupid scarfs they put on the dogs. I immediately called the store manager, He was kind and set us up with an appointment with the Banfield animal clinic within the store. Pet Smart paid for all the treatment. I am very thankful for his concern and the great customer service he gave us. I would NOT RECOMMEND the grooming department at this store. Not real happy. Apparently when you call your store to make a grooming appointment it goes to a call center who will tell you what you want to hear rather than the truth. Brought our 4 month old puppy for first introduction to grooming. Was told by call center operator that appointment would only take and hour or so. At store... was told 3-4 hours. I really like this Petsmart. It's close by to my house, but it's also new, neat, and clean. There is always someone at the "cricket counter" to get crickets, worms, or fish from, and they seem genuinely interested in animals. Unlike the Petsmart on Power Rd., they don't give biased opinions (I've heard bad stuff about bearded dragon care from employees at the other Petsmart), and they are always friendly and helpful. read more

Wow.. reading all the horrible reviews about the rude employees that work here. Had my own run in yesterday. My husband & I brought my son in because he wanted to use his own money to buy his puppy a new harness, collar, leash, toys and bones. There was a long awkward shaped dog toy sitting on the ground and my son picked it up and looked at it and then set it right back where he found it. As we are further down the isle fitting a harness on our pup a shelf stocker named Chad whips around into our isle and in such an awkward and loud hostile voice snaps "EVERYTHING OK OVER HERE??" We say yes and he follows that with snapping at our son "HEY BUD?? WHEN YOU PICK SOMETHING UP.. YOU NEED TO PUT IT BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT... OK???" Then gives us a scolding look and proceeds to talk crap about us to a fellow employee in the next isle. Wow is all I can say. I quickly put him in his place because obviously he's not been taught how to act as an employee or human. Say my kid did pick up a toy and put it back in the wrong spot.. I'm pretty sure we made up for it with the amount of money we have spent at your establishment over the years.. not to mention.. sorry for your job choice Chad.. but that is indeed part of your job and what they pay you to do. Not to run your mouth to 9 year olds. This isn't the first time I've had an employee be rude to me here but it will definitely be the last. Too bad PetSmart doesn't care more about their customers than this. I called the store and told the manager Sherry what happened.. her tone screamed "ALL MY EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE AND I DONT GET PAID ENOUGH TO CARE!" This PetSmart has been awful the last several times we have been in. The employees are very rude. This last time we went in to get fish and our 5 year old and 3 year old were very excited to pick out their fish. No one would help us and we had to ask a lady that kept walking by without offering help. She then acted very annoyed that she had to stop and get the fish. My boys were so excited and pointing at the fish they wanted and the lady snapped at them and told them to back off. This isn't the first time we have had a rude employee snap at our kids here. When kids go here it's very exciting for them especially if they are getting to pick out pets and then the whole experience gets ruined because of a rude employee who hates their job is mean to your kids. I'm so done with this store and maybe PetSmart in general. I recommend not to go to this store unless you are prepared to deal with rude employees. read more

This location is borderline mediocre on its best day. While the staff are overall a friendly bunch, they aren't the most knowledgeable crew. I'm there frequently, to purchase our dogs their food. I've had a woman once try to convince me that the Petsmart brand, Simply Nourish, was a better food than Blue Buffalo. She gave me SO MUCH flase information. I let her continue her speech for a solid three minutes before finally stopping her and calling her on it. I couldn't believe what just happened. The woman became embarrassed and did everything she could to back pedal. This isn't the only time that I've run into flat out incorrect information. I've also had employees just know nothing about a product, but some will be honest and just admit it at least. Petsmart is ok to shop if you know what you're getting, but don't bother going in if you need product information. You're better off using Google. read more

Karen Johnson has trained Maggie (my dog) and myself since January. We couldn't have done it without her. Maggie started the class sliding into Petsmart. She refused to walk. Funniest thing but something that was frustrating for me. Karen knew just what to do & soon Maggie was excited when we'd be home & I would as her "Do you want to go see Karen?" You immediately can tell that dogs are Karen's life. She loves each one. She doesn't take any slack from me or Maggie, but she's also kind and understanding. Karen has patience with all of the dogs that come into her area, but expects that we, the pet parents and the pet, will practice what we've learned during the week so we can excel. Even though we've graduated through Advanced class, she's going to have a "trick" class that I'm looking forward to. read more

Ok so the cashier named Renee according to her hair covered name tag(assuming ab attempt to hide her name since she's obviously got horrible customer service skills) was the one I unfortunately had to check out through since only register open.... i say this because the man before me in line had difficulty with his card in the pay/ swipe machine and she kept talking down to him as a kid then straight took his card by snatching it from him to do it herself.... then my turn nothing till I go to pay no greeting or anything just a big sigh when I tell her i'm doing two separate transactions... I go to pay and card reader is apparently malfunctioning she waits till I am obviously struggling frustrated and then loudly exclaims it's broken just keep trying... really?? How about you advise your customers before hand rather than no greeting only sighing at them so anyways I do first transaction then she loudly yells at a coworker she can't handle anymore and walks off mean while leaving me there standing blankly... thankfully the other employee decided to take over this literally only register open so I can leave.... will never return to this store site again thanks to your cashier Renee's horrible customer service and will be contacting the company directly to grieve as well read more

One of my dogs had a seizure during the middle of the night, and I had to take him to the Banfiled inside the PetSmart on Signal Butte because the Banfield where I usually take my dogs had no available appointments. I decided to take my other dog with me to get routine care done, and, as we were standing in line at the Banfield check-in counter, there was an older gentleman with a very big dog standing behind me. My big dog that I had with me, (who was attacked as a puppy by another big dog and therefore, does not like other big dogs), started going after the dog behind me. In trying to restrain my dog, my other one got loose, and the big dog behind me in line grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him off his feet and shook him like a rag doll. My dog required surgery to repair a torn shoulder and it cost me well over $600. Not ten seconds after this happened, the manager came and pointed directly at me while I was still on the ground and said something like, "So, you let go of the your dog's leash." I already knew that, and why he had to say it, I just don't know. The manager quickly made a judgement call and told the guy with the vicious dog he could leave the store without so much as getting his name. I contacted animal control the same day, and a woman said leash laws do not apply at all if a dog gets loose inside a building. I asked her if I could have sued the gentlemen for medical expenses for having a vicious dog that mauled mine, and she stated yes, in small claims court. I contacted the district manager to make an official complaint, and what he basically said is this, "What's your part in this?" I said I admitted I accidentally let go of my dog, but because of his employees' actions, I will be unable to collect ANY amount for medical bills. He refused to see this or even consider his employee's actions and at that point, I hung up. The PestSmart manager made a judgement call that wasn't his to make, and he became the jury as well. Because of this, a man is walking around with a very mean, very vicious dog who could bite someone or another animal in the future. The total unwillingness to even consider my point of view and of not getting the owner's name makes me feel I can't trust my dogs not to get hurt there and I will never step foot in the Signal Butte PetSmart again. read more
