We came to this Petsmart instead of our normal one because the dog bed we wanted was in stock at this location. Big mistake! Heather was working the register and was one of the rudest employees I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Gave her the phone number for rewards and asked to use ours. She was huffy and puffy, when I didn't know that having two names on one phone number made a huge difference. Then when we had to void out the THREE items (dog bed, dog bone, and a toy) to use the other name, she immediately became irritated and got incredibly rude. Down to snapping at me about having to scan the dog bed all over again. I may have been more understanding had there been a line but we were the only people in the entire store. Completely out of line to act like that to someone in general, much less a customer. We will never be back to this store and will gladly drive out of our way to go to another location. read more

This review is strictly for the Banfield not the store itself. Horrible. We have gone here for 8 years and paid their monthly plan fees but yet twice after having my dog stay at the vet for other testing she has had to come back due to getting ear infections! Plus even worse is that they do not keep very good records. They had prescribed a rinse and the medicine the first time but would not believe me when I said we have used the rinse before, stating that their records do not show they have ever prescribed a rinse for us. Their answer was that we got it from another vet. This was the only vet we have ever gone to up to now. I still have that bottle with the prescription label from them. The employees are my favorite here as they are just plain fun as well as patient and sweet. This one lady made sure we had the best care picking out a hamster for my daughter she helped us through and through and this was a process of almost 2 hours. Then we check out with a man and we were just giving him a hard time which he took in stride and was so much fun as well. I got my bearded dragon, Loki (pictures at lokibd.blogspot.com) from this Petsmart. She is happy, healthy, and growing like a weed, so I appreciate that they buy healthy animals and do seem to take good care of them. However, a few times I have gone in there I have gotten bad advice from a few employees. For example, feeding a baby dragon mealworms is generally a bad idea as they cannot process mealworms' hard shells. One employee told me they feed their babies mealworms all the time, and tried to get me to buy some rather than crickets. Do your own research before trusting a pet store employee; they care for dozens of animals every day, all with their unique care requirements, and don't have the time or resources to devote to making sure your particular breed of reptile/amphibian is getting the best care. The store is bright and clean, and when they have dog adoptions they are in a large but fairly out-of-the-way spot from the rest of the store, so you aren't tripping over cages as you shop. Their stock of reptile accessories is pretty good. read more

Unfortunately yelp doesn't allow less than 1 star. We've brought our dogs to this location and didn't have any issues in the past so today really threw us for a loop. We have two dogs, one is a bit older and does perfectly fine with his grooming and being in new areas. The other dog gets a little more nervous around new people but instantly warms up to people when they are nice and he becomes with them. The first groom he was nervous but they did great with him. We picked him up roughly 2 hours after they finished. No bad marks. Well this time we picked him up after 3 hours (because the first garbled message telling us they were ready was hard to decipher and didn't help that the person who called sounded as if she wasn't even talking into the phone and we couldn't tell that it was a call from PetSmart to pick up our pets). I first walked in to get the paperwork and nothing was said, no issues. I walked back in after I paid to get our pets and still no issues until my wife and baby walked in and suddenly a woman with short curly brown/grey hair had a lot to say. She started in how he did fine with the grooming but we shouldn't be leaving him for any longer than he needs to be left because he was nervous in the crate and we should have picked him up sooner, all in an extremely condescending tone. Not sure why everything was fine until my wife walked into help get the pups. The other workers seemed as if they were trying to lighten the tension saying things like "he's going to be so tired and pass out when he gets home!" And little laughs to make it seem as if the other rude woman wasn't attacking us (namely my wife because she wouldn't even look at me). Had the first message they left been something that someone could understand we might have been able to run and get him sooner, but she had no right to portray that level of arrogance. The customer service was deplorable. In any kind of respectable establishment, if there is an issue with someone be it employee or customer, things are handled more one on one rather than openly bad mouthing someone in front of a crowded room. She was acting as if she knew better than the dogs owners and it was understood by my wife and I that from the moment they finished to the moment we picked the dogs up they were talking about us. I had made an appointment with a lovely lady who I met while waiting for a Banfield nurse to meet me curbside. Turned out she was a groomer there so I immediately made an appointment for my 13 week old shihtzu. The next day I received a call regarding that sweet girl being let go. I was assured that all the other groomers were certified in puppy cuts so I kept the appt. When I arrived I got a bad vibe. I get that it's Easter, & maybe the mgr & other groomers didn't want to be there but that wasn't my fault. I should've listened to my gut & taken my puppy out of there. I told them in advance that she's hard to hold when cutting or bathing. Response on the phone -"oh no problem, we're used to squirmy puppies." I also never specified a service. When I arrived, though, I was told it may take 2-3 hours (for what???) and that she may not receive the full service. I was also told that she would only receive a bath, face, feet, & sanitary service. That's not what I was originally told. I was assured I could pick the service upon arrival because they're only accepting a few dogs at a time. I called 2 hours later to see how she was doing and to ask how much longer pick-up would be. I was asked to hold on because she had to ask the groomer. Weird, since the phone is at the check-in table, which is in the same room as the tables. Amazingly she was finished & ready to go. I had specifically asked to be called as soon as she was ready so she wouldn't have to wait in a cage for too long. When I arrived I was informed that her face couldn't be cleaned up because she moved too much. DUH! I told them that, yet they insisted it could be done. Not only was her face not done, neither was her sanitary area, her stomach, and her feet were only partially done. Basically I paid $20 for them to bathe her. She shook all the way home. I understand that she's probably upset (at least partially) because it was so new to her. The rest of it- I do NOT understand. How long was she waiting, I wonder? Really, she just happened to be done right when I called? They said I'd be called right after she was dried. When I arrived, I was told she was still on the table when I called. Which was it? Can't stand liars! Will never return and hope anyone reading this doesn't either. If I hadn't been lied to I'd be okay with some of this. Lie, though, and you're hiding more than you're saying. Shame on the groomers & Shane on Petsmart for allowing it. read more

I went in to discuss training my dog and no one knew any details and trainer wasn't in store. Finally they found a very nice lady who knew everything and was super helpful. I called back an hour later to book training and once again no one knew anything. I asked if the same lady was there and the guy who answered the phone had no idea who she was, and then proceeded to say the manager was too busy to talk to me and I can try back tomorrow. I love taking my dogs her to shop for them, I let them pick out there own treats and they always have good prices on there food. I also have them groomed here. I have a pharaoh hound mix, 2 wheaten terriers and 2 bat shit crazy wiener dogs. the wieners dogs are seriously derelict!! the first time I took my Wheaten terrier.. Rider in for a cut, he came out looking good... I just had them give him a "touch up".... BUT the second time I took him in.. I was specific on what I wanted... they told me it would be 4 hours and they called me to let me know he was done just shy of 4 hours....when I picked Rider up from Heather (his groomer) he came out and looked straight at me and said to me.... IN ENGLISH....... " SHO NUFF" ...and he seemed to have some sort of HI PRO GLO thing going on... some type of awe inspiring aura going on....... I guess I will be bringing him back so Heather can work her magic on him.... as for Reggie, My 15 year old Pharaoh hound, he gets a "high and tight" cut.... they do a bang up job on him as well... when he enters the grooming door he is shaking like a crap game, but when I pick him up..... My girlfriend and I just recently get a puppy a few weeks ago and living in an apartment complex we want to make sure he stays as healthy and healthy as possible. Just the other day we noticed he wasn't acting normal, so we took him into Banfield hoping someone would be able to check him out & give us peace of mind. None of the doctors were available at the time, but the receptionist Alex was of great help for us! She took her time to answer our questions about our sweet puppy and gave us advice on what to do next. The staff member was rude. She complained about having a migraine all day to someone in front of me that she may have known. She didn't want to talk to customers so she was making them enter their phone number themselves instead of offering to do it for them so she didn't have to talk to anyone. I was more of an inconvenience than a paying customer and someone that should have received excellent customer service. I will likely go back to your competitor, Market Street Pet Depot than return to a Petsmart. I'm surprised this location scored 3 stars on yelp but I can guarantee that I will be leaving less than that when I drop my comments. Not my first run in with a rude employee at this location. Came in to check out the rabbits with my 6yr old son. When I entered the store there were 5 employees right in the area. 2 were stocking shelves, 1 cashier and then 2 were joking and laughing with eachother by the bunnies. I asked one of those girls named Kat if she could let us hold one of them because there is a sticker right on the window that says to ask an employee to hold them. She looks at me and says "I don't know about all that". I referred her to the sticker on the window and she says "ya I don't know" then turns back to the girl she was talking to and completely ignores me. Unbelievable lol I was so shocked that someone would actually pay her to work there. Someone needs to get their money back for that one. Thanks for nothing Kat! Update! I have been going to PetSmart for over 20 years, and the same store for most of that time. I don't really think that PetSmart wants my business? To be fair, the grooming of my two dogs was very good. Chante' and Rebekah were very good as they always have been. However, now PetSmart wants to charge me a "$5 convenience fee" for using them on a weekend? Tell me how your costs go up simply because it is a weekend? Being in business, I know some marketing genius came up with this "fee" as a way to GOUGE THE CUSTOMER!! They used to discount pre-booking appointments, but took that away as well. So, I have no other assumption other than they apparently don't need my business. I took off work to drive back home which is an hour and Brianna the groomer called to tell me that she couldn't do my grooming appt 30 minutes before the appt. because she got booked with another dog at the same time. Today I had a field trip for my EVIT class and our meet up location was at the PetSmart located on Power and Ray. When we first walked in we did not receive a proper greeting, asking if school was out and why there are so many "kids" in the store. My classmates and I go around the store until my teacher arrives. When my teacher arrives the store manager asks her to please buy something because she is graded on how many people come in and look around to who comes and buys something. This has to be one of the most absurd things I have ever heard. I have not gone to this location anymore due to the way they treat their customers and will continue to travel the extra mile for people who treat their customers correctly. read more

Went to this PetSmart tonight with my boyfriend and my little girl to look into buying feeder fish. We saw a beautiful white, blue eyed rabbit and wanted info on it. As soon as the employee came in she looked at my toddler daughter and automatically denied us buying the rabbit not knowing our living conditions or anything. (I'm a teen mom who doesn't live with my boyfriend and my child does not go to my boyfriends house.) As I went to talk to the manager the employee started screaming at me and the manager sat back and allowed it. I will never shop at this location EVER AGAIN! I explained to the manager that the way her employee acted looked terribly on their store as a whole. I took my 4 pound toy poodle to this place and was called a couple hours later to pick her up. They let me know in the message that they were not going to be able to finish her trim but would be giving me 15% off. When I picked her up they informed me that she was too wiggly and they could not trim her head or face. They then explained that I was being charged a $6 handling fee because they needed one more person to hold this tiny dog in order to trim her. They had trimmed her body and shaved her ears leaving only a big puff ball around her face and muzzle. She was left with fur covering her eyes still making it hard for her too see. When I got home I noticed that they had cut her neck while shaving her body. She is now very nervous any time someone pets her around that area. I ended up taking her to another groomer to trim her face and it literally took less than 5 minutes. I will never take my dogs to this place again. They charged for a handling fee and have me discount that equaled the amount making it a wash. Horrible service, never again. read more
