Sean manager, You need to work on your own customer service, instead of worrying about your employees who are doing a great job. You should not be working with people, this was apparent when you proceeded to raise your voice because you are embarrassed and ashamed, as you should be. After numerous attempts to check out, you were called and provided zero customer service and knowing that it was a complete inconvenience, you should have offered some sort of an additional discount. They ended up only doing face/nails/paw pad trim but I still had to pay the full $90 for the cut. Worst place to shop. Manager of the store im assuming treats their employees not the greatest. NO one was there. No one was up front to check me out. Ended up just dropping my stuff and going to Petco. I've heard from many people working here is awful and the manager will treat you poorly. Recommend going to another petsmart. read more

First off, they were way too busy for what they scheduled. I paid for my dog to get everything except cut (not incl sanitary trim). After 2 hours, I picked up my dog only to find she had only been bathed and supposedly teeth brushed. No Sanitary trim, no nail trim, no hair between the paws trim, no ear cleaning, no paw and nose balm, didn't look like furminator brush out and more than likely no things I couldn't see (gland squeeze, upgraded shampoo, perfume spritz, etc). It absolutely outrageous to pay $80 (I got a discount for first time customer) and expect the full treatment when you don't even get half. I told them to take her back and do the sanitary trim and nail trim and they only trimmed her nails. I'm very disappointed in this place and the only reason I didn't get more upset in store was because it's the holiday season, they were overworked/overbooked, many customers waiting, and I got a discount. I really expected better from people who love dogs. And the staff was relatively nice as well. Just absolutely terrible service. read more

This review is for the grooming section of Petsmart. I took my dog Gilbert in to get groomed for his 4th or 5th time at this location. We have had a positive experience before and never had issues. It typically takes them about 2 hours which I expect. I had an appointment at 5 pm. I drop my dog off and hang out in the area until he is finished. I get a call around 6:45 pm that it's time to pick him up. She tells me that they could only get one paw trimmed because he tried to bite the groomer. I apologized and said I'm on my way (mind you this had never happened before). I get in to the grooming area. The girl tells me "oh I'm not going to charge you." I look at her confused. She said they couldn't do anything because he tried to bite her. I had assumed when she said they could only get one paw trimmed that he had already had his bath and everything else since it had been 2 hours since his appointment started. She explains that she tried to trim his nails before the bath and that's when he tried to bite her and she had to stop. So you're telling me my dog sat in the kennel for over an hour and a half (we had an appointment!) and then you try to trim his nails and wonder why he is agitated?! My dog is very well trained and will not use the bathroom in a kennel. He is probably freaked out and has to use the restroom. Why was my dog waiting for almost 2 hours to be groomed!? At this point it is past 7 pm and the girl appears she just wants to be done and leave. I am wondering if she use it as an excuse to not have to groom my dog since she was clearly not on schedule. Very disappointed. Will not be using this grooming service ever again and I will not be shopping at this Petsmart again. read more

I can't say enough great things about this Petsmart, the employees are all friendly and helpful. The main manager has been here since the store had opened (I think), he always goes out of his way to say hi. This was my puppy's first time getting a full haircut she she has a lot of hair and is super hot and needs a haircut MICHELLE .F was her groomer she was late coming in and when she arrived, she looked like she did not want to be there. She then looked at the dog saying that there is no matting i left and came back the only thing that was done was her face and it looked horrible she looks bald in the front that is not what I asked for and at the time of pick up she proceeded to tell me that she was naughty because she wanted to play with other dogs and her( she is a PUPPY) and told me she was matted and she needed to take care of that but when she looked at her before the haircut, she said there was no matting I also brushed her before the appointment because I knew about the matting fee she still has all of her hair that I wanted gone due to heat and on the tip of her nose, she got hurt. They didn't tell me how or even that she did get hurt. They didn't tell me anything about it. all in all I give this place 0 stars I also saw another groomer, being kind of aggressive to another dog! Went for grooming. Did a good job and the price was reasonable. Some new folks but everyone tried and did well to help and keep all moving.

I'm beyond frustrated with this place. I left their store and 15 minutes later, I get a call saying they couldn't bathe my animal because he was "too much." This is completely absurd! My pet is super friendly and easygoing. He's been professionally cleaned before with no issues, so the fact that they weren't patient enough to even try is outrageous. I had to cancel all my plans just to go back, pick him up, and bathe him myself. If you're thinking about coming here, take a good look at their 2.0 rating--this place is a joke and totally not worth your time or money! read more

This is specific to the grooming department... We called to get details on nail trim for our dog. Was told they accepted walk-ins until 4 pm. Showed up at three pm only to be told they wouldn't be able to do the trim because we didn't have her rabies vaccine proof with us even though there were no other dogs around. First issue...I had my dog dropped off a little early before the appointment and the person at the front was very rude about her being early. The manager or lead told the staff what difference does it make dogs are early all the time take her to the back. Second issue and the worst...the staff that had an issue with her being dropped off early and was the groomer literally just did the worst hair cuts should have done in her entire grooming life! I just realized the grooming department totally scammed me! They oddly called me last week to see if I wanted to book an appointment for my Frenchie because they were having some sort of sale? I told her yes and booked an appointment for today 11/17 at 930am. Got there, checked my dog in and left to my car while they worked on her. 30 min later, I got a call to come get her because she was ready. I was on the phone at the time and couldn't come get her right away so I decided to pay through the app until I was off the call to avoid the register. I am a former employee of 2 different PetSmart stores and this has never been a policy. I took my dog to the Queen Creek PetSmart today for his first grooming there. Jesse, the grooming manager, was clearly stressed out when we arrived. Her tone of voice was out of line. She acted as if it was such a bother to get my dog's vaccine information from the dog daycare center inside the same PetSmart store. Then, she wanted me to tell her which blade to use. A 4, a 5, a 6? I have no idea. I'm not a groomer. I did tell her that the hair on his tail shouldn't be more than 1" long. Jesse's attitude was hideous. When I returned to get my dog, she said he wiggled too much. So, she didn't trim his head, face, or ears. I noticed that she also didn't trim his tail. Due to his wiggling and her inconvenience, she charged an extra $10. So, let me just try to understand this. She didn't finish the job and yet tacked on an extra charge? Additionally, the grooming room was filthy. We'll never go back. If I could give them zero stars, I would. read more

I just took my dog in for grooming. I have been taking this dog in for grooming for at least 8 years. For the most part, the staff are friendly, which is a good sign when leaving your pet in the hands of strangers. Today, I walked in and Ilse was standing at the desk. As I walked in, she didn't even look up or acknowledge that I was there. She asked what I was there for. No smile, no "hello" nothing. I could tell she didn't want to be there, which isn't a good sign for a dog groomer. She was curt, unfriendly, and quite impersonal. When I brought it up to her manager and told him I would like to know whether he would follow up on my complaint he scoffed at me. Last time here. I have even officially cancelled my Wellness Plan with their vet area. If someone is rude and impatient with a human customer, they are probably VERY likely to abuse their customer's pets. DO NOT BUY FISH FROM THIS STORE. Do not buy fish from here, they will not only die but also infect and kill your fish at home. A few weeks back I purchased 3 GloFish Danios to add to my 55 gallon freshwater aquarium, cycled 6 months and with an already-thriving population of tropical fish. One of the fish however had a severe red eye and was missing a fin, and after I pointed out that this fish looked ill they assured me it was a tank mate injury and sold it to me. Not even a day later it had passed away, and had started one of the most lethal fungal infections I've seen in a fish tank, killing off two-thirds of the tank despite treatment. The store then apologized for selling me a diseased fish and offered $100 in store credit, which I used to purchase more fish after my tank was successfully treated and after they assured me their fish were disease-free. The fish I purchased with the store credit were still infected with the fungal spores and I am now having to deal with the fungal infection once again. This store displays horrible care for their aquatics department, to where even someone who has never kept fish in their life could walk into their store and see an array of diseased, dying, or already dead fish in their tanks. If you want fish, go to Petco, The Pet Shop, or even another Petsmart, just not this one. If they tell you "only the fish in this tank are sick" Petsmart's tanks are all attached to the same filtration unit (which cannot filter diseases) so if one tank is sick, they all are. Only buy supplies and decorations from here, but even then I wouldn't be surprised to find something wrong with those. The woman named Jessica is very rude and doesn't seem to like her job and seems miserable with life.. .. and was extremely hateful from the moment I got there to check in my dog . I was told to wait because their groomer wasn't there yet! Then when the groomer still didn't show up, another groomer offered to take information on how I wanted my dog cut this time.. as I was going over everything, she informed me whoever groomed the dog prior did a poor job and they would need to start over and shave my dog down all over! I expressed I was frustrated with this and proceeded to leave my dog anyway and ask when I could return to get her. I brought my 8 month old german Shepard in here twice for a bath and the first time was great and the girl said she was just in able to do nails but that he did great for the bath and blow dry and the brush out. Second time in there couldn't even find my information which I thought was weird .. so made another account and made me bring in rabies papers again. Then the next day they left a voice mail saying they were going to change my appointment time .. then I told them I can't change it due to my schedule during the day but I can reschedule for a different day .. and she said "no that's fine" so I bring my dog in day of appointment and it was very busy in there.. then get a call 2.5 hours later saying he was a handful and only was able to wash him cause that was the only thing he did good for. I was still given a bill even though he wasn't brushed out or nails done or ears cleaned which I was fine with cause I felt bad he was such a handful and they at least tried but then I take him home to brush him and he literally smelled like the girl ran some soap over his back and that was it... several parts of his body , feet , belly , tail not only smelled bad but also felt dirty.. so I had to wash him the next day . The staff is very unprofessional, we stood inside at the counter while all five staff members continued their conversation about another groomer and making fun of another's picture on the wall. This review is about the pet hotel specifically. We have used petsmart pet hotels all over the west for years, and no problems. But, recently we used this one for a few boardings and it was a disaster... they confirmed a "suite" (actual room). But after the fact I found out our dog was locked up in a small cage both times!! And it still cost almost 100.00 a night!! They blamed the call center for the "error" but I call b.s. when you get a confirmation you assume it's a done deal... then they did a bait and switch and charged the same amount. I actually called the store number directly but they said, " oh, it automatically gets sent to the call center". I know this isn't true because I've been booking with them for years and know there are separate numbers. They claimed the "suites" have been booked up for the last 2 months, yet they never said that when I booked. I spoke to the hotel manager, Mona, and she was full of excuses and was pretty rude and unprofessional. Looking at some of the other reviews, I can't believe any of these people still work there. I have had it with the grooming salon. I have been a customer for 2 years...and from time-to-time I have to ask for corrections on my dog's cut. Once corrections are made, all is well and I pay the full price. Three weeks ago I sent my dog to be groomed but Lacey was not able to finish his cut due to a personal issue...and I understood; therefore, we could not ask for corrections that day. I called the manager and let her know that my husband made me aware of why my dog was not fully groomed and had the appearance that he was still grown out. She was immediately defensive as if I called to argue. I was simply trying to determine how we were going to correct the issue. The manager, Jessica, stated that because Lacey was going to be out for an upcoming vacation there were limited days that she would be available where I could bring my dog back for correction which would have been an inconvenience anyway. Since my schedule did not sync with Lacey's I just scheduled my dog for an earlier appointment...3 weeks instead of the usual 6 weeks. Keep in mind, the manager could have discounted the service since the schedules did not sync...to take responsibility for the poor service. She didn't. Upon taking my dog back at this 3 week mark, I asked for a discount for the previous service and was initially denied twice as Jessica became combative, stating that my dog was already grown out, before agreeing to give me a discount...20%...should have been 50% since the dog barely had a haircut 3 weeks ago. I will say that Lacey did a great job with this most recent service but I won't be back and have canceled my dog's 6 remaining appointments. Hope the loss of business serve them well. read more

Through the glass windows I saw her pull and drag a small black dog harshly by the neck. Another worker (this one a male with dirty blonde hair) was pulling a dog with a slip leash, while the leash was wrapped around its paw. He noticed the dog in pain, but did not do anything to help and continued to pull. Seeing how these employees treated these cute little helpless dogs, I will not be bringing my dog here to stay. read more

We bought a 1 gal tank at pets mart in Tucson over the weekend with the intention of purchasing the betta fish here. The picture on the front of the box has a beta fish in the tank. We asked to purchase 2 snails and she proceeded to ask me about the size of the fish tank and I told her. She began berating me about the inappropriate size of the tank and that if I want to get a beta I need a bigger tank. I finally interrupted her and told her I am simply purchasing 2 snails and 1 beta and that we've done this before and had no issues. She rolled her eyes got us our snails. Wanted to buy a training collar for my pup. Instead I got my ear talked off for 30 minutes about how to train my dog without the collar. I proceeded to still try and buy the collar. When the girl who talked my ear off of training heard on the radio I needed a collar from the back (non on the shelf) she ran up front and corralled her manager to tell her not to sell one to me. Instead I was told the one I wanted and all other training collars were out of stock. There's a reason I use chewy for all my pet stuff. And thank you to the pet smart employees for reconfirming why I do not shop here. I will also take my business else where for grooming and literally anything petsmart does. Close your doors. Please. Also I went to Walmart and bought a training collar for half the cost. Thanks again for the unsolicited advise and saving some money on the same product. Also the guy at the cashier station asked me "do you know what it like to not sleep in 10 days?". He proceeded to tell me he tattoos trees of all different colors. Dude must of been on shrooms. He also threatens his sisters cat. Saying it was going to go missing, and there would be a new hole in his wall. Take that for what it is. I've seen circle k gas stations tan better then this place. My puppy Marcus (Yellow Lab) and I moved to Queen Creek in June of 2019 from California, Marcus was 6-Months Old. He was starving for attention and I wanted to have him socialize with other dogs. He had been puppy and hunt-dog trained, but needed to be with other dogs to calm his playful spirit. I let him stay the night at PetSmart and Play all day at Doggie Daycare weakly. I can't say enough about the transposition/change took place in his personality after his visits to PetSmart. The Staff Loved and Babied him so much that it was hard to take him home (He Loved to be There). I let him stay over at the Pet Hotel this Thanksgiving while we went to my daughters house in Bullhead City. He had a physical emergency (I guess he had since birth) and was transported (twice) to the Emergency Vet Hospital, where he had a whole battery of test which PetSmart used their Credit Card +$600 to start the tests. He was found to have an abdominal abnormality that could not be repaired. Last night we had to put Marcus down. The management the Girls and Mona Baker at PetSmart insisted to pay the initial $616 dollar bill for Marcus...(I Can't Believe their Kindness, they Loved Him so much) I can't stop crying!!!! I loved Him Dearly and the Sweethearts at PetSmart. read more

I use petsmart for boarding my dog while on trips, group training classes, and grooming. I have a 1 year old mini labradoodle. For group training you can't ask for a better trainer! She is seriously great and loves what she does. Along with that she doesn't try to sell products you don't need and really works with you and you'd dog. That being said this isn't a come to class and your dog magically becomes well behaved. Rather you are given the tools to help you understand how to train and oftentimes you can learn something new. I've trained several of my families dogs in the past but learned new things attending just basic and intermediate training. We (my dog and I) look forward to class each week and are looking forward to advanced class. Grooming is great. They are very busy but still took the time to listen to what I wanted for my dog. Even got us in last minute. They were easy to work with and got done before they said they would. Dog looked awesome. Pet hotel. I can't speak for my dog but based on her reaction when we go or pick her up she LOVES it. The staff all seem to love animals and appear to enjoy my dog. The price is slightly more than other places especially if you toss in extra play time. But I like the on call vet. Last time we did pick up our dog and she had a sore on her head, slight infection. I called the next day first thing and they got her into the vet and checked her out and even though it is unclear when this happened since I dropped her off without a sore and picked her up with one they covered the vet bill. No arguments no judgments! They even have asked how the dog is healing up. Even with this incident I would have no problem taking her back for a stay there. General store staff is great. Always happy and smiling. Only complaint I have is I wish there was a dedicated training area like other stores have. read more
