I have never left a negative review before, but after my experience, which was less than pleasant with Kelly's Kritter Clips, I feel other pet owners will gain useful insight and be leery to use this provider.
Sorry this is long. I don't believe that this provider provides gentle and caring love to the animals being serviced, and their professionalism and customer service surely is lacking. I paid for both cats to be shaved and bathed and I firmly believe that they were not bathed and their shave was uneven, sloppy, and messy. I will never return to this provider for my lack of satisfaction. At this point, after no return phone call for 2 weeks, I am left wondering how my precious babies were treated when in this shop. If you specifically have a cat, save him or her and take it to another provider. If you have a dog, it's a toss up, make your best judgment.
Here's my story: A couple of weeks ago, I brought my two cats in to be shaved and bathed and was given a price prior, when booking the appointment by phone. My kitties have long fur and they shed all over the house, and profusely when I pet them, so a shave I felt would help with this unruly problem. When I went into the shop to pickup my cats, I was informed in an unfriendly manner, by Andrea, what the fee amount was, which was $10 more than I was told on the phone. I politely informed Andrea that I wouldn't argue over $10, but that was a different price than what I was told when on the phone. Andrea was stern and short, sitting in the receptionist chair behind the counter, and again informed me the rate of her fee. She then followed up and said that the fee has gone up $10, since I brought my cats in for a shave a few years prior. My concern was "not" that the rate went up, nor even that Andrea probably made a human error in providing to me the wrong rate over the phone. My concern was Andrea was rude to me. At that point after hearing her attitude, I decided to let it go, paid her cash requested rate, and then took my kitties and left the shop.
When I arrived home and I took my cats out of their travel kennels, I saw that they had much shaved globs of fur, still all over their coats and inside their kennels. Not a few clumps, but all over their entire bodies. Their shave was also uneven and unprofessional. After brushing the shaved fur off of my second cat, my black cat, and seeing the dander on her black coat, I concluded that neither of my pets were bathed, as the dander was thick and their coats completely dry, and again, globs of fur still on their coats. At this point, I was happy to see such, as that probably meant that my kitties did not go through the stress of a bath with her. But it dawned on me that perhaps Andrea was as short with my cats shave, as she was with me while in her shop! All I could envision at this point, was Andrea shoving my kitties back into their kennels, with all their half shaven fur still on their coats, to move on to the next pet. Now I cannot say that is what truly happened, but I can say that I was not left with a sense of trust or that I will ever return to Kelly's Kritter Clips again.
A day or two later I felt it necessary to voice my dissatisfaction and I called and spoke to Agnes (at the Sun Lakes location) of my concern. Agnes said that the owner, Kelly, does not work in that shop, but that she would get back to me. It is now two weeks later and I still haven't received a phone call from Kelly or even from anyone else from her shop.
So, after several days of no returned phone call, I then called the other Kelly's Kritter's location, on Power Rd, hoping to catch Kelly at that location, just in case Agnes didn't forward my message to Kelly. At the Power Rd location, I spoke to a very pleasant woman (her name escapes me) and asked her to have Kelly, the owner, or a manger, to return my call. I expressed my less than satisfaction and this kind and concerned woman told me that Kelly comes into the shop on Tuesdays and would receive my message then. Eight days goes by and I call the Power Rd shop again, speaking to the same woman, leaving another message for Kelly to call me back. I was informed while on the phone that Kelly did receive my message and will once again provide Kelly my second message. Well today is Thursday and still no call from Kelly, the owner, or even a manager, of that shop.
So here is my opinion. Once again, I don't believe that this provider provides gentle and caring love to the animals being serviced, and their professionalism and customer service surely is lacking. This shop requests that you pay by cash, no credit cards accepted, so the result is you cannot dispute their service with your credit card carrier and they still get paid! Just plain ole unprofessional, unreliable, rude, and outdated! I paid for both cats to be shaved and bathed and I firmly believe that they were not bathed and their shave was uneven, sloppy, and messy. I will never return to this provider! read more
