Honestly they have everything imaginable for pets! Experts to ask questions to, lots of supplies, medicine, toys, food, etc. I think the only thing that could use some help is the front of the store. Lots of pets seem to use the potty there and it's stained. Probably a pretty hard problem to keep track of but it would be nice not to see or smell that when walking in. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Took my dog there for a full service groom with add on feature of nail grind. It was going to cost me over$150. This is a sheepadoodle around 65 pounds. When I dropped her off I get a call that she had a "tick". I have been going to pet smart on Chandler Blvd for years with all my dogs. This was on Germann St. For some reason when booking on line it always bumps me to that store even though I set my store for Chandler Blvd. Anyway, they said if they found anymore "ticks", they would call me. Well, they did. Told me they would give her a flea and tick batch but I needed to come get her. I spoke with Joshua the grooming salon manager, at least that is what he told me. He said that my dog would not let them dry him with the dryer (I know that to be a lie) never had any issues with the other pet smart. So that sends up a red flag to me. My dog is 6 years old and never had a tick, but I am sure she did. The part that got me so upset was that when I picked her up, the had shaved down her back in the middle. Nothing else. Her nails were not done, that has nothing to do with ticks. When I picked her up, Airiala (that is what her name tag says) very nasty and condescending stated "it is our policy to stop immediately and provide NO MORE SERVICES. I said, "show me the policy, I want to see it." She said well no, it is not a policy I didn't say that." Oh she certainly did. She wanted to argue with me so I left and called the manager, they gave me a Stephanie whom I doubt was not the manager. They would not let me talk to Joshua. I even said to her before I left, look at this place, it is filthy, dog hair (and I mean dog hair) all over the place. There were 3 groomers standing at the front desk doing nothing but chatting instead of cleaning the dog hair up. I will NEVER bring my dog here again. I am going to call corporate for their deceitful practices and their nasty lying attitudes towards customers, including Joshua and Stephanie, the so called MANAGERS of the grooming salon. read more

I never leave a 1 star and debated the whole day if I should start. But the way I was spoken to by the manager at this location. I feel it's appropriate and anyone who comes here should think of other Pet Friendly shops. Kahoots, Petco, Pet Planet and even pet depot are all places I would suggest before coming back to this PetSmart. I have come to this location since I lived in Gilbert almost 15 years ago. Even though I moved 45 minutes away. I still drove to this location. Because of one groomer Sophia. She was the only reason why I came this far for this long. I made an appointment for my pup to be groomed. Due to a medical reason ( possibly pregnancy) she was not allowed to be groomed. However when booking it online it was mentioned as it specifically asked and I said yes. Which it still booked me. Being turned away because of the issue. Is fine it's the way the manager handled it and talked to a customer. Reading the bad reviews for the store. I can see where the staff gets it from. She was very rude, condescending and disrespectful. She proceeded to tell me I was yelling at her. Which I wasn't and numerous times asked for me to stop talking. She refused to let me talk and talked over me every time I tried to talk. The whole back and forth wasn't getting anywhere so I wanted her name and position. I know she was a manger but what position. Which she said I don't need it and apparently triggered her as she saids I'll show you. Your dog will never be groomed at another PetSmart. She then hangs up. Yes was I frustrated and stressed absolutely any pet parent would be. I explained to the groomer that we been trying to reach the grooming department for 45 minutes. Even corporate called for 10 minutes and couldn't get a hold of them. We were stressed my husband is late to work while waiting and I'm 45 minutes away to get my pup. That's where a great manager would come in instead of trying to show she needs to be right and she's the boss. She could have turned this whole situation into a win and even made her company money. She should have started I'm so very sorry. I understand the frustration and stress this has caused your family. Unfortunately we can't groom your pup at this time. However I understand your husband is late for work now and your pup is stuck with no where to go. Why don't we get her into the day care until you can get here. We would have gladly paid and would have deescalated the whole situation . But she was so blinded by being right on a grooming that the groomer already informed us she couldn't do for the safety of my pet. Also corporate said it's not a policy that the manger claimed was a policy set by corporate that's why it's on the form. Every store is different and under their desecration. read more

I just wanted to leave this review because Charlee, Steph, Jaycee, and Josh were hands down phenomenal. I have experience with different types of animals and reptiles so I've had my fair share of experiences with Petsmart including this location but this one stands out the most. We adopted a Bearded Dragon and a mouse on the same day only to bring the mouse (whom my sister named RedBull lol) home and find out it had health issues. Now this wasn't something that they could see in such a tiny mouse but they went above and beyond to get him the help he needed and kept me in the loop during his treatment. They called me every vet visit and even the day he passed. He didn't make it but this team made me feel like family by helping the process so much easier on my kids and I who fell in love with him immensely in such a short period of time. Visited yesterday to pick up some new things for our Beardie and Steph treated me like I was family and treated my son like he was one of hers! I ordered a big package. I noticed they called me with an hour. So I know damn well no anal was expressed..NEVER AGAIN WILL I BE COMING BACK...I'LL STICK TO THE ONE ON POWER RD AND 202...I went to this one because it's right by my house.... The grooming place had hair on the floor everywhere. I get it is a grooming facilities but some of the groomers walking around in between their appts could at least sweep up. Some of the groomers I notice aren't social...not inviting especially when your dropping your dogs off. we want to drop them off to happy people. read more

This review is specifically for the grooming salon. This last time was the worst. I specifically asked them NOT to shave her as it was cold outside and though she had some matting it was not severe enough to go that route. Her ears were cut about 1.5 inches long and you could see the pink skin on her neck. I feel like the quick fix was done rather than trying to work out some of the matting. I have had to wrap her in a blanket or have her wear a sweater even in our home. Very disappointed as I asked them not to shave her and the exact opposite was done. My pup has never been afraid of grooming but I am not sure I can ever take her back there. read more

Regretting signing up for this "Insurance" for my two older Chi Mixes. Their plan is up in November 2023. NOT going to renew. Your pets will not receive continuity of care. No one seems to understand medicine there nor can they explain simple questions about labs. At one location a vet tech was completely baffled with every single question I had (they weren't that difficult) and at a Mesa location the Veterinarian had to refer to her phone with every question. I asked her and couldn't answer one question without stammering and looking at me with embarrassment, for not knowing the answer. So done with Banfield. My girls deserve better. If you are looking for a new vet to save money, this is not the place. Bad healthcare, and high prices. Ridiculous. read more

Hi I was just in this petsmart, My (6 year old) daughter was looking at a fish tank decor item, a little $5 turtle. She went to put it back on the shelf ans accidentally dropped it...again ACCODENTALY. She got sad cuz it broke, i was right next to her and saw it was an accident...literally it happens...I told her to pick it up. There was an older(60s or 70s) male emplyee that saw it and came over with his hand over to take the small broken turtle. She said sorry and it was an accident and he processed to try to lecture my child. I told him "she said sorry and it was an accident" and he proceeded to argue with me. Your employee tried to literally lecture my child and argue with me!! It literally blew my mind. I said "she said sorry, it was an accident, she feels bad...its done...you're not lecturing her!!" and her and I left the store. I have never in my life seen an employee think it's ok to lecture someone else's kid or argue with the parent! We are huge petsmart shoppers and I wont to that store again. They had a very large selection of dog toys here.  Not sure if their prices are competitive, but the reason you go here is to get a toy for your dog now!  The selection was good and there were a few items that I have not seen here before. They also have a large selection of items for other pets, including reptiles.  I noticed that they were selling turtles there as well which you don't see often.  The manager, or at least he seemed like the manager, Winston was very pleasant to me.  This is a store I will be returning to. read more

I normally don't write negative reviews but I feel this review is important for those who are going to the grooming salon and specifically dealing with a lady named Stephanie who sometimes works at the front register helping other groomers out. I went in yesterday at 5:30 to groom my maltipoo and was greeted with a bad attitude snarky remarks and told I would have to come back at 9pm because he had some mats and was the last customer. I am one to think that sometimes people have bad days and that is why sometimes their attitude comes off a certain way, but this person acted like it was an inconvenience for me to come in the grooming salon and have an appointment that day. That should've been my first tip off. 20 minutes later after I've already paid waiting on my dog to be finished I get a call saying that they tried to do his tail but because it was too matted my dog was attempting to nip them and that I needed to pick him up. I've been to this grooming salon twice already with no issues with this problem and I told them that this is not regular behavior for him unless they grind his nails (which I asked them not to do). When I get to the grooming salon I walk in and Stephanie is in the back grooming a dog similar to mine. She immediately looks at me and gets my dog. Then she proceeds to say I see you already paid we were going to tell you not to pay you can just get a refund. The first picture is what my dog looked like before I went in and the second picture is how they left my dog. To have the front end store cashier ask "what happened" because they can see my dog looks unhappy and the grooming is botched made me sad for him.We got home and he stared at the wall for 10 minutes because he felt so uncomfortable in his body. Please do a better job of hiring people who are good with customers and dogs! I'm really upset that they didn't have the decency to tell me they just weren't going to groom him instead of starting to groom him and half finishing the job! You may need to rethink your hiring of Stephanie or whoever was at the front desk of grooming department at 5:30pm 5/27/22 on the cashier. Very bad attitude and bad customer service. If you don't want customers at 5:30, then block out your schedule so they don't make appointments at that time. It seemed we were an inconvenience for her the moment we came in. I now am trying to get a last minute appointment somewhere else so they can finish the job they botched. The one star is for doing the right thing with a refund. (My appointment was with Marissa who I have had 2 times before with no issues, but this complaint is about Stephanies' communication and lack of proper customer service follow through- if you can't do the job, let people know ahead of time!) My daughter and I were looking to expand our Guinea Pig family. I spotted a $200 cage on sale for $120. But it was too big for us to carry around so I snapped a picture of the barcode to check out before we picked out a new friend too. When we looked at the glass critter area we saw a Guinea pig with something stuck on its head. Making it so the Guinea pig could not eat or drink. It just kept backing up trying to get it off. We let a worker know. She rolled her eyes as her male associate said, "Oh I saw that earlier but didn't know what you wanted me to do." The female worker huffed as she followed us. When we returned the little guy had got his head out on his own. My daughter asked if we could see the Guinea pig and the woman said no. We found the male associate in another aisle he also said we were unable to see the Guinea pigs. Normally I have a great time with friendly associates but this location was unfriendly and almost unwilling to make a sale. We decided to take our business to different location. I gave two stars because maybe everyone was stressed that it was Black Friday. ‍ read more

In July, my wife took our two dogs to get a haircut at the Petsmart off E. Germann. The groomer called to report they cut my dog's dew claw and had to take her to the vet. They told us we could go to the vet to pick up our injured dog. My wife asked if they could just bring her back to Petsmart when she was finished at the vet. They agreed to bring her back as she suggested. They said they didn't finish cutting either dog's hair. They told us we had to reschedule another appointment to get both dogs haircuts finished. The employee offered to comp the bill. When my wife went to pick up the the dogs, they both had a horrible looking spotted cut with random sections of hair trimmed. We were told we would only be charged for the bath not the haircut. My wife had to explain the offer she received from a different employee about comping the whole bill. The manager had to get involved to approve the waived fees. Their mistake caused a lot of scheduling inconveniences and a traumatized dog. In October we took our dogs back to the same location...I know...stupid move on our part. But, we requested a different groomer. My wife even told the new groomer about the previous incident. She asked the groomer to be careful when cutting the dew claw. About an hour or so later, my wife gets a call from the groomer who said they cut my dogs dew claw again. This time the cut was even worse. They took my dog to the vet again. My dog had to get a big bandage on her leg. She was placed on antibiotics. She was given a 5 day supply of pain medication. She was also forced to wear a cone around her neck for 7 days to prevent her from causing damage to the wound on her dew claw. My dog ran into walls when she got home, because of the cone around her head. She couldn't walk up the stairs. She could hardly move in her crate because of the cone. I read about other people having similar experiences at Petsmart. Do these places even train their employees? I will never take my dog to a Petsmart ever again. Although I can't complain about the selection of Purina Pro Plan wet cat food at this location (not all PetSmarts are equal apparently), I cringe whenever I have to make a trip to this store for my finicky eaters. What chafes me is the unnecessarily long lines due to lack of cashiers upfront, every single time I go in. I have no idea why there is always only a single cashier checking out the entire store??? I wanted to try the Buy Online Pick Up in store option, but they didn't have all the flavors listed on the website. What a disappointment! OK, maybe I try too hard to please my cats but if you are a cat owner you would understand. I enjoy shopping at the pet stores that sell the natural high end brands for which my fur babies will eat the grain-free dry food but shun the wet stuff. So I am stuck with PetSmart unless I want to hear my Siamese crying all day for his Pro Plan wet food. read more

I have been taking my two babies to Marisa F at this location for grooming for about 2 1/2 years. She is absolutely amazing. My boy dog is very shy but he is always great with her and my dogs always come home looking great! She is precise with her cuts and always make sure they are comfortable and look awesome! If you need assistance such as getting crickets, then take the time to drive to another location or the pet store near san tan Costco. Anytime we've needed crickets we've waited endlessly, always get the "I'm annoyed I'm helping you vibe". Several times in the past we've been told to help ourselves so after several employees turned their backs to us as we went to ask for assistance, we did just that. A younger female employee approached us and was unnecessarily rude to us about us getting our own crickets. Needless to say this was the straw that broke the camels back for us and we won't be returning or recommending this location for any pet needs. read more

STAY CLEAR. Atrocious. Horrible. Awful - three words to accurately describe the grooming services. The groomer absolutely butchered my dogs coat. He now just looks sad and emaciated. The groomer had the audacity to explain her process. And her review of herself and method used are so far from reality of the horror show of the end result. I could have done a better job with my beard trimmer in a fraction of the time. Let's also mention that our appointment was at 1:30PM and our dog was ready at 6:30PM. ALL other one star reviews are 100% accurate. NEVER giving PetSmart another whisp of a thought. Support local pet stores, local groomers, moble groomers. PetSmart grooming services is an abomination. Took my doggie to get groomed. Amy, the groomer personality was very abrupt. I returned early to pick him up she was standing around texting on her phone. I asked what the procedure was and why my dog was in a cold cage cold after his bath and still wet and she wasnt tending to him or anyone elses pet. I could hear him and see him as the back door was entered. I will never subject my family pet to her again! I make early appointments so he can get on and out without the anxiety! We tried to use the ordering online and picking up at your car service and it did not work. They tell you to call them when you have arrived and I waited on hold for five minutes. Then someone came on the phone and asked me to wait for longer so I waited for another two minutes. So finally I went into the store, got in line and I tried calling them at the same time and then someone answered and I explained that I had ordered online and he said well then you get why no one's come out to help you because it's too busy in here. And then told me to go to this other orange sign where I waited. All the other customers got helped that had been behind me in line. I finally left and returned my order because I was not getting any help. They obviously have enough business and don't need mine. I will stick to Amazon. read more

I went here a few days ago to return an item my son purchased a few days before. I saw 3 employees and none were wearing a mask. They have plexiglass at registers but neither of two cashiers were behind the actual shield, they were in that little cutout. Ironically, out of 11 customers I observed, 10 were wearing masks. I recently purchased a Costco membership bc of their mask requirement. If you are one that cares about the masks, I just thought you should know. The only things I honestly have to complain about is the fact I wait more than ten minutes typically for crickets and the fish always look sickly and yesterday All I could see i. After canceling our appointment three times for grooming today they finely took my three dogs in. We dropped the dogs off at 12:30, we picked up the dogs at 5:30pm and they were not finished. They were short handed and should of never booked our dogs , Our dogs were there for 5 hours being kept in pens. At 5:30I was told it would be another 45 minutes, this business practice is unacceptable. Upon arriving to pick up the dogs, two of which were done and the third not completed the girl doing the grooming got nasty with my wife when she question why they over booked. The manager stepped in and started in on my wife and voices got raised. This is by far not the proper way to treat customers. I would not recommend taking your dogs to get groomed there, they over book and your pets have to in pens for an extended period of time, the staff mistreats their customers and are rude and argumentative. read more
