I have been taking my dogs here for grooming for a few years now. Never ever had an issue. Until yesterday. Yesterday I had a bath/brush appointment for my Pomeranian. She has a tendency to nervous poop/pee when we first arrive, no big deal just give me a paper towel and I will clean it. Well, Amanda (the groomer) seemed quite irritated when my dog pooped, she rolled her eyes at me and let out the biggest sigh of irritation I have ever heard. She said she would clean it. No no it's fine give me the cleaner and I will take care of it. Which i did!I was a little put off by her attitude and should have just left and cancelled my appointment but I decided no maybe she is just having an off day. When she came to pick up my dog to take her to the back my dog had a little nervous pee and again with the sigh and rolled eyes at me, again, give me the cleaner and I will clean it. I drop her off and within 5 minutes if me leaving PetSmart I get a call, it was Amanda telling me she can't groom my dog because she pooped in her kennel and she cant continue the groom appointment. My dog has been groomed here by many other groomers for over a year, never once had an issue. Maybe if you don't like occasional dog poop or pee, find another profession. read more

A very nice salon with friendly staff that know how to make your fur friend look their best! Sammy in particular (bless her!) did an outstanding job with my doodle for a bath and brush. A previous customer on here said that Sammy is rude to customers and coworkers. I didn't see that behavior at all. Perhaps that person caught her on a bad day, which happens to the best of us. I'd be very surprised if that person has always kept their cool at their job every single day, haha. But it is so unfair to judge someone and publicly claim they are unfit for their job because you stumbled upon them at their worst. I've been taking my Pug, Millie, here since she was a puppy (she is almost 7). I have always loved the grooming staff but Justine in grooming today was the best! I recently moved and tried out a different petsmart for nail trimming a couple months ago and left in tears because of how awful it was and I took the extra little drive to come here and it was 1000% worth it. Ihad an appointment today with Sammy when I showed up for my appointment I witnessed her miss treating and talking down to her fellow dog groomer and was rude to the customer before me. Once it was my time to check in her rudeness continued and said that they were too short on staff to keep my appointment today. I talked with a wonderful manager who said that my appointment mentioned would be honored but I no longer felt comfortable leaving my dog with Sammy being her groomer. I will be taking my business elsewhere where to a place that loves dogs and is a kind to humans who did nothing wrong. I honestly was not a once rude in my response to her. It seems like most reviews of this store are either for the wrong location or are strictly about the grooming. I come here frequently with my toddler to get things for our two dogs and also because my kid loves seeing all the animals. A lady named Audrey has helped us out a few times and is very personable and great with my toddler. One time like 6 weeks ago she let us pet a cat. On several occasions she's made recommendations. I remember her, but was shocked when we came in today and she remembered us. With the amount of people that go in there on a daily basis it shows how much the employees value customer service that she made an effort to remember repeat customers. read more

Follow up: got an email from customer care and letter says management will follow up but never has. 3-5 business days came and went. Oh and talking with my neighbor I found out they butchered his schnauzer as well. Nothing was done to compensate him as well. These guys should not be grooming dogs! First and last time at this location! I refrained from calling because I am afraid of the words that will come out of my mouth!!! Walked in this past week to pick up some toys for the pups and ended up talking with the groomers. Asked if any of the groomers "specialized" grooming schnauzers and the women replied saying that two of them including herself were the pros or whatever she said. I should've known better when she said she was available on Sunday (usually the good groomers are booked). Booked anyway as my older dog really needed a cut. Fast forward to Sunday, we bring him in for a 9:30am appointment and speak with the groomer about what we want. I knew he was a little matted up on the legs and a little on the beard but it was low enough. I told her I'd like to keep his beard short and her reply was to have a "donut" cut at shortest. That was fine with me. About 3 hours later my husband goes and gets him. Our little guy comes in the house and I'm mortified and pissed at what a horrible job the groomer had done. Like holy crap, where did u get ur license to cut?! Revoke the license because clearly she does not care enough to have done a better job. This review is based on their horrible customer service, although from reading the reviews below, it sounds like not only are they rude and unpleasant, they also are not good at grooming animals. Yikes. I took my dog in for an appointment, and right off the bat I had a bad feeling. The two employees saw how excitable she was, how big and energetic she is, and seemed annoyed. Weird behavior for people who are in the business of grooming dogs of all personalities. I talked to two employees about my dog's hip dysplasia, that she has no mobility restrictions, she just needs extra time to get up. She sees a vet regularly and is approved for running, jumping, anything. The employees reassured me that they use "team lift" to get big dogs on the table, and if they can't, they groom them on the floor. My dog happily walked back with the employee. I get a call ten minutes later. A woman said "we can't groom your dog, she can't even stand up". I was concerned, my dog was standing and walking ten minutes ago. Did something happen to her? No she's fine, we just can't get her to stand up. What about the team lift you were planning on doing? What about grooming her or at LEAST de-shedding her on the floor? Surely there are techniques, treats you can use. Experienced groomers face dogs that are reluctant to be groomed all the time. This woman said "just come and get this dog" and hung up on me. So bizarre, disrespectful, rude to hang up on a customer. I could see doing that to someone who is yelling, or cussing, or being abusive on the phone. But to hang up on me because I was asking if there were any solutions they could come up with ...really terrible business. I wish I had read the reviews before booking here. Will NEVER try any Petsmart grooming ever again. I don't shop there for anything already. Save yourself some stress, and save your dog a bad haircut or injury. I took my pooch in for her very first grooming today, and PetSmart overall did an okay job. I booked her for a bath (no haircut) and added on a teeth cleaning for $10. My main motivation for getting her groomed is the need for "sanitary trimming", which is included in the basic bath. She smells amazing! They did an excellent job cleaning up her rear, and I'm looking forward to seeing how long that lasts before it starts matting again. She's super soft now with all the brushing she got. Her breath/teeth seem the same to me. I have the supplies to brush her teeth myself, so I wouldn't order this add-on again in the future. A few concerns, which led me to giving them 3 stars. She's been rubbing her butt on the ground since we got her back, so something is making her feel uncomfortable back there (maybe from the anal gland expression?). She has a small wound to one of her legs that is new - it's not open, it looks like a burn or like she was rubbed raw or something. Finally, they only clipped 2 of her nails. Now, I know she's challenging when it comes to that. But if the groomer isn't able to do it then who is?? One of her nails is cracked and splintered. It looks like they tried to cut it and maybe she moved. The injury is on that same leg. Finally, it took nearly 3 hours for the service to be completed (when I booked it said 1-2 hours). Once we got her home, she immediately drank her entire bowl of water, so they must not offer them anything to drink while they're there. read more

I brought our dog in (8:00 AM) for grooming today and boy did we get a shock! My wife is very particular about the way our Aussie gets groomed so I have a detailed list that I communicate every single time! When I brought our dog in, I referred to my text and told the groomer which areas need to be groomed, indicated the areas by hand (and detail) and let them know that our dog DOES not like the dryers. Some of these notes were on the online appointment form!! Flash forward to about 11:30 AM... I called to see if our dog was ready for pick up and I was told that she was not ready because it would take longer for her to dry because they can't use the dryer. That's ok and reasonable because they cannot quickly dry her. At about 1:00, my wife gets a call from the groomer saying that our dog is ready. When my wife gets there, our dog is given a hatchet job and the manager (Laurie) tells her that I had not communicated ANYTHING regarding the manner of the cuts and the issue with the dryer! All lies! After Laurie insists that I said nothing on all accounts, she starts berating my wife and essentially calling us liars! This was done very publicly and loudly. She also mentioned that our dog was aggressive, the first time we have ever heard that, and that she wants us never to go there again. Well, that won't be a problem for us. In the end, my wife refused to pay. This made Laurie even angrier and insisted that we would pay. All of this is done in front of other customers and loudly. My wife did not pay, called another Petsmart in the area (where we never had any problems) and the manager offered to fix all of the damage to our dog for free the next day. We do not want anything for free... we just want a good job done and not have to endure someone that cannot own up to their own mistakes, blame others for their incompetence and then make a nasty scene. The store opened yeterday. I received a coupon for free dry pet food so the hubby and I decided to check it out. We probably would've waited months to step in here if it wasn't for the coupon. As soon as we entered, two staff members greated us. We had a couple more staff members stop what they were doing to offer to help us. Everyone was friendly. Unfortunately, this was probably the worst customer service I've had. I setup a wash and grooming for my new dog. It's the first time time I've ever used PetSmart grooming. I had an appoint schedule for last Friday. They called the day of and cancelled due to the tech not having any days off. They called me at 7am, before the store was even open and left a voicemail for me to call them back. I couldn't even call back till they opened which was at 9am. My appointment was supposed to be at 9:30am. I called back at 9am and the grooming representative apologized and said no one is supposed to even call anyone before 8am, and that they didn't have any openings till next Friday. I was confused why they didn't let me know sooner, instead of the same day. But I just let them rebook me I get a call 2 days before my next appointment telling me they have to reschedule because the same technician is out now. I advised this is upsetting because this is the second time I'm being rebooked. I advised so they keep giving me the same technician then. I asked for the manger. The manager gets on the phone and instantly had an attitude as she answers the phone. She tells me as much as I'm frustrated they are more frustrated. I advised I get it, but I'm the client who keeps getting rebooked. And she says " fine will just book you for another technician for the same time". Which I'm really confused because I feel like that's what should have been done. I asked would I still have the discount I was supposed to get from the first cancellation. She said, " yup, what more do you want we said sorry and you have a discount". Which I brought up the discount and not even her. So I was just asking to clarify. She said "you know what frankly I don't like your tone" and as I'm speaking hangs up on me saying I'm cancelled. I receive a text within 15 seconds showing cancelled. I was so hurt to be honest. I was very respectful and didn't think I deserved that service. I was a manger and the role is to ensure you deescalate a situation, not escalate it. Honestly I got my dog because I have anxiety. I love my dog and was so excited to get her groomed and cleaned. And I love PetSmart. Specifically because of their services. But I guess I was wrong. read more

I had to drive all the way back here in the middle of a pandemic because your staff lied to me and sold me dead worms. Then they had the audacity to try to argue with me when I came back a couple days later and asked for an exchange. They wanted to CHARGE ME MORE MONEY to get what I paid for the first time. I have NEVER felt the need to write a review before today. I am furious. I went into this location to get refill of mealworms for my gecko, so I ask for a cup of mealworms from the back. The lady brings out a container and I checked them. I said "these look dead". She proceeds to tell me that they will look dead because they were in the fridge. Now I know VERY WELL what mealworms look like out of the fridge because I've had to feed them to my gecko everyday for MONTHS. Even right out of the fridge there is usually movement underneath the bedding, and the worms hide underneath the top layer. They DO NOT lay in a clump at the top. Oh and they squirm too if you pick them up even if they are half frozen! These were DEAD, but I took them anyways giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe I'm wrong and this batch was just not very lively. Fast forward 2 days. This 100 count Mealworms are definitely dead because now they are starting to turn black which I know from experience means DEAD. That's unacceptable especially after they pressed me, so I drove all the way back to the store and kindly requested that they please exchange them. They decided to ARGUE with me that they were not dead AGAIN, that they only looked dead even after I opened the container and proved it. So the icing on the cake is that they finally say "okay fine how about we give you a new cup at half price to replace the dead ones". I was livid. I said absolutely not this entire cup is dead and then they FINALLY brought me a fresh cup. Oh and guess what! These were actually alive and I could tell because there was MOVEMENT. I'm not stupid PetSmart. I've since determined there are NOT 100 worms in this new cup. Maybe 50 max. You wasted my time, insulted my intelligence and then scammed me out of what I paid for. About 8 months ago I became a new puppy owner. The staff at PetSmart have been great at helping me answer questions and I even took a training class with Jennifer who is so patient. Not only is the trainer WELL informed, but Chris takes great pride in her training and builds a bond with each pup. She not only trains our puppies to be obedient, but also teaches us to always be calm and patient. Mochi absolutely loves Chris when she comes in and is super excited to start her mini class. The store is VERY clean and always well stock. All the staff members are extremely friendly and well informative. I love this PetSmart. I am so frustrated in my visit to PetSmart today. Our 3 small dogs needed their rabies vaccinations as they were all overdue because we've been homebound during this corona virus ordeal. My wife found out about this mobile service at PetSmart and thought we'd give it a try. We weren't sure how this work and had to wait in line for over 45 minutes once we got their for the actual vet to show up at the store. Apparently they contract out vets to come in and give the shots through a service called Shot Vet. We were third in line, but ended up being 4th in line because the girl who checked us in was slow and the people behind us had someone faster who told them to go in front of us. Had we "prepaid" online we could've been first in line but we didn't want to because we weren't sure how this worked. Finally when it was our turn we put our 15 year old toy poodle on the table for her shot and she threw up. The vet looked surprised and said what is that, I said "bile", she's nervous and we've been waiting over 45 minutes for you. He said, well I'm sorry we can't give her the rabies shot in case there is something wrong with her. I totally lost it. We needed these shots because we need to submit to the state our dogs have their shots because of our foster care license. He said he can't do it and suggested we try somewhere else. Where? On a Sunday? We drove from Maricopa to Chandler for this and waited in line for over 45 minutes for this to happen. We weren't the only ones wondering why the vet was late. Although someone who had been there before said they were late the last time she came. Like I said, I lost it, my wife tried to calm me down but I didn't care. I will NEVER go to one of these mobile type places again. We thought we'd try it because we were short on time, but never again, it was a waste of my time. Not only was the staff highly unfriendly but my dog turned out awful. I wanted her washed and shaved down to the lowest setting possible. She still smells like she has not been washed, there is still crusty gunk around her eyes, and she has bald/uneven spots around her chest sides and legs. Had to wait outside because they are only allowing I pet family in at a time(maybe if time is so important they should come out get my info and start checking my dog in instead of making me wait another 10min?????, just to say Lori canceled because I was late. Every time I come here, every employee greets you with a smile. They are available in the aisles and always ask if there is something I need. Just the other day they went above and beyond- I had to exchange my dogs food (and they happily did it- no questions asked), however I forgot my dog's food cup in the old bag and they had already kept it aside for me. Only difference between this store and the one in Cincinnati (where I'm originally from), this store makes the owner pick up if a pet has an accident. I wish I could give 0 stars. I came in to buy a fish and a new tank. I already have a tank at home to put the new fish in until the new tank was set up. A lady was working in the back ask asked if I needed help. I said I was just going to grab a tank and then pick out the fish (so I wouldn't have to carry and jolt the fish around while picking a tank). She looked at me and said "I don't recommend getting fish and a tank the same day". I said I have a tank I'm just getting a new one and then will get a fish. She proceeded to belittle me and treat me like I was stupid saying "you aren't putting the fish in there today are you?" I told her again. No, I was going to put them in the old tank while I was setting up the new one. She then asked me if I needed help finding the tanks to which I said yes and all she did was point and say "over there". For a minimum wage job, I expected a lot more respect to come from someone roughly the same age as me. read more

He always informs me on the exact and proper care for my fish and is so friendly. Also the employees are also extremely helpful and friendly. If you adopt a cat from this store, make sure to fill out the form from the third party agency that you will never declaw the cat at any point in the future. Neither petsmart or their 3rd party informed our family of this policy at any point in the preprocess of filling out the lengthy paperwork and we were denied adoption of the cat AFTER our kids fell in love with it. Called Petsmart to complain. The manager personally picked out the third party adoption agency and defended their actions. I guess our honesty was our demise in a new kitten for our kids. Just to begin, I don't have any issues whatsoever with my dogs previous groomers or any of the floor workers at this location. Everyone is so great EXCEPT FOR LAURIE. Laurie is the grooming department manager at this store and I cannot BELIEVE what I experienced today. I dropped my dogs off earlier for their monthly grooming like I always do at this location and they promised me that they would have my dogs done within 2 hours. I left and did some shopping and came back around 2 hours later. When I realized they weren't done I decided to shop around with my cousin to pick up some dog treats. I could hear my dogs barking pretty persistently (these are my babies, I'd recognize their barks any day of the week) in their back room so I'd look over at the salon every few minutes with worry. 15 minutes later, Laurie looks at my friend and I through the grooming window and uses her finger to signal us to come into the salon. We walk inside and she IMMEDIATELY starts yelling at us to never watch them while we're waiting for our dogs to be ready as it makes them feel uncomfortable. She said a few more nasty remarks to my cousin and I that pissed us off pretty bad. I've never met anyone in management that has ever treated a customer with so much disrespect. She clearly doesn't take her job seriously and would rather be bitter towards the world than gain the friendship of her regular paying customers. My dogs were incredibly happy to see me, but when I took them back to the car and started looking at their nails I realized that only half of each of their nails were cut. I paid for a full nail cutting service with their puppy baths, not for only a few of their nails to be cut while they left the rest long. The other groomers are incredible at what they do and they've always been very sweet and respectful to me. I will never take my dogs back to Laurie ever again. I will never get my dogs groomed while Laurie is working ever again. I never want to interact or see Laurie ever again. I would suggest that if you care about your dogs and want their grooming to be done well, go to any of the groomers EXCEPT LAURIE. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied until she is fired to talked to by upper management because I know damn well I'm not her only complaint. That should be saying something. read more

I went in to make a first time appointment for my dog and as I was doing that a groomer cute a dogs nail too short and the dog started yelping in pain. The lady helping me said oh he is just a puppy and isn't used to getting groomed so he just thinks they are cutting his toe off. I was appalled by her lack of concern and the lie she just told me. As I'm standing there watching she is sitting there with her hand on her chin like she is tired of waiting on me to decide what I'm doing. I told her I would just come back and she laughed rudely and said I figured you would say that. She turned around and started telling another employee about it like it was all a joke. I will never go back. The whole thing made me sick to my stomach and I felt so bad for the poor dog. The store is fine even though I think the selection is limited compared to other locations.
