My girl Presley is now happy to go to the groomer and I know that my girl will come out looking fabulous. Had a grooming appointment for my maltipoo for the Cotton Lane location with Sam. When I got there they were attending another customer, so I waited my turn. After they left I saw it was Sam who was attending them. She sat at the chair for a while and it took her a long time to even acknowledge me. She finally asked me my dog's name. Then she kinda laughs at herself for a second and tells me that my dog will need a complete shave down and it will be a pretty Penny. I was a bit confused and shocked because no one has ever told me that before and I've brought her here plenty of times. I asked her "how many more pennies are we talking about here?" She said she didn't have time to give me the full breakdown, but it would be about $102. (WHAT??!) she was booked for a total of $65, how the heck does it jump up so much?? As I was trying to recover from the shock, she then said, "I don't even have to touch her to see that she's all matted, I can just see it". I was FURIOUS!! I'm sorry. But EVERY groomer who has cut my dog's hair HAS ALWAYS TOUCHED her to see what they have to work with. She never got off from that chair to even make a proper evaluation. It seemed like she was tired and not in the mood to work on anymore dogs. Well I'm sorry but that's not good customer service. I told her to Disregard that request and picked up my baby and walked out. I couldn't believe what had just happened. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO GET GROOMED HERE! The girls here don't care about doing their work right!! You literally get what you pay for. My golden doodle was shaved down and not to mention she has a lot of bruising and irritation on her skin. If only my dog can talk. I had a disagreement with them about their policy in the beginning where they forgot to mention to me that my dog vaccine record shot wouldn't be valid so I had to call her vet to "prove to them" my dog was vaccinated and I think they took it out on her! The girls that work here and young and you can tell they just want to be clocked out. No passion for these puppies! If you love your fur baby don't take her here! Horrible service! The Grooming Salon notified us about our miniature poodle and an abnormal behavior while grooming him, which led to my arrival at the nearby veterinarian. Nathan met me with our dog, Shadd. it was detected Shadd has a heart murmur, and unfortunately, the grooming was stopped, due to his breathing. Nathan and I chatted, and what a delight to have him in charge of our nearby Petsmart. he has been with Petsmart for 20 years, and his customer service is over the tops. The store itself is good always clean. I've been going there for over 10 years. However today was my first experience bringing in my 4.5 month old puppy for a puppy bath and trim. Awful experience. I was originally booked for a specific groomer. It was changed without my knowledge to Raychel. I was never contacted about my appointment changing. I was never contacted that his appointment was going to take close to 4 hours versus the "couple hours or less" she advised me of. Prior to the appointment she told me she treated puppy's first time like a play date. Those are her specific words. If keeping puppies in a foreign kennel for close to 4 hours is your version of a "puppy play date" then you need to do some research. They took almost 4 hours for a puppy bath and trim after telling me "a couple of hours or less." When I picked him up, she said she cut his nail too short, causing it to bleed. She barely trimmed him. His ears were not cleaned. I'm sure his teeth weren't brushed because he's a puppy and wants to chew on your hand of whatever is by his mouth. The entire time I was around she kept calling him "Bubba, never actually using his name Ranger to help calm him down and create some familiarity for him. Now my puppy is traumatized, and Raychel didn't care. In fact, she blamed me for not specifically stating in my reservation I wanted a specific groomer. Which this was my VERY FIRST APPOINTMENT, how the heck was I supposed to know? Then she informed me they work on multiple dogs at one single time, and that if I didn't want that to happen I needed to book a specific package so she would only focus on my puppy. Why are you lecturing me, Raychel? I'm a BRAND NEW CUSTOMER. Don't you work on tips and getting customers to return back to you? Oh and guess what, she's THE MANAGER! Petsmart, if this is the best you have available to run your grooming salon, you're losing out on a lot of business. Especially now reading these reviews. Don't book your pets with Raychel C. I've sent my complaint to Petsmart and I've spoken with management at the store that assure me things will be handled. read more

I am so disappointed in the Cotton Lane PetSmart. I took my furbaby for a groom and the only thing good about her visit is the actual haircut. I got charged extra for nail grinding. When I called the day before, I asked if nails were included in the Bath and full haircut. The girl said it was. I was surprised when my husband came home and was charged extra. When I called to inquire, she said she told him, but he said he didn't hear her say it was an extra charge. She said that the girl I had talked to must be misinformed. SHE'S YOUR EMPLOYEE! She should know. I've never been charged extra for a nail grinding. I also told her I'd never come back there. The girl said "OK, have a nice day". Like she didn't care. You got your money for doing nothing. Her nails look like they were ground, BUT they are still very long. Did Olivia even cut them? I don't think so. Also, she couldn't have had a bath. She still smells "doggy". If she'd had a bath, I would think that she'd have a shampoo smell. She did not get the spritz of doggie cologne. She did not get a bow or scarf. And worst of all...she does have separation anxiety...but once she is picked up, she is fine. She has NEVER reacted the way she has since leaving your facility. It's been 24+ hours since she was picked up. She is still shaking and hiding behind furniture. She never does that. What happened at that salon to traumatize her like that? When my husband dropped her off, they were adamant about him picking her up before 6 p.m. or she'd have to stay overnight. It was to take at least 3 hours for the groom. She was dropped off at 3 p.m. We received a call at 4:20 p.m. that she was done. They rushed her groom. She's never been less than 2.5-3 hours or more for a groom anywhere. That's another reason, besides her doggy odor, that I am sure she didn't get a bath. $60 for a hair cut and nail grind. Unacceptable!! I so want to bring her in there to show your manager, but we do not want her traumatized any more than she already has been. I can tell you that I will NEVER recommend your salon to my friends and neighbors for a groom. In fact, when they ask where she's groomed, I'll adamantly tell them, DO NOT USE PETSMART! And I am going on YELP and giving a truthful, negative review. read more

This was our first time using PetSmart for grooming. We couldn't be happier! Our 6 month old Cavapoo was well taken care of. Anna was excellent and the grooming was just as we asked for. I said to the groomer when she said She couldn't find the appointment. I said this was the second time this happened. Clean store, friendly and helpful staff with an awesome grooming salon! My sidekick just started puppy classes, was a bit nervous but the trainer Jenny was very welcoming, engaging and sincere. Harper's first groom was adorable, completly exceeding my expectations. Harper is a very energetic, nippy, confident puppy. I dread having to brush her at home, she chews on the brush, or my fingers, she struggles and fights until the end. I expected her to come home looking like she was groomed with a Flowbee. ***This rating is for the grooming salon and not the sales part of the store*** We moved to the area in August from California, and in California our dog has always gone to PetSmart for grooming. Our dog has gone to this salon two times since we moved here. The people are always friendly but the first cut was not good and very uneven. Not only was the cut bad but the cost was more at this PetSmart than I ever paid in CA! After this we switched to a mobile groomer who did a fantastic job (who's a bit cheaper than PetSmart even). I cut it too close to the holidays and the mobile groomer was booked so I thought I would give a different groomer at PetSmart a chance, and that was a huge mistake. My dogs cut this time was worse than last time and it was so uneven that when I got her home I was trying to even it out myself, and I know nothing about grooming dogs! I even brought a picture for reference. Not only did the cut not look like the pic but one of my dog's ears was at least an inch longer than the other and very noticeable! If I could give their salon zero stars I would. They are more expensive than mobile groomers and I know I could have given my doggy a better haircut than they did! read more

I had the worst experience in grooming. I tried dropping my dog off for a nail trim. I felt terrible because my 1 year old kept messing with the lights. I asked the groomer if she could just wait a second for me to check in while I was juggling two kids and a giant lab. I was also trying to call the vet for rabies confirmation. She was so rude! Called the manager to have me removed all while two other employees just watched me struggle. No one offered help. So disappointing to see the lack of customer service. Tony and Chris helped me today to 1. Find the right cone for my dog. 2. They gave me a carabiner to attach the cone to my dogs collar. 3. They helped me to replace a lightbulb for my boa's habitat. I walked in 5 minutes late and the manager held open the store long enough to make it all happen. Conclusion: Everyone at the store is doing a fantastic job. All likeminded friendly individuals. Do not buy pets from here. I have had trouble twice with guinea pigs I purchased from Petsmart. First time my guinea pig died within a week and I made the mistake of buying another pig a few years later and now this pig has a bad fungal infection. She has long hair and so the spot was covered by the time we found it the two weeks had just expired so there was nothing they would do. We have now spent over $300 dollars trying to make her better and even though as soon as we found the infection we separated her from our other guinea pig but now she has it too. read more

I put in an online order at 7 am as early as I could. Come around time they open I go in yo see if my order was ready but its not so they tell me to wait 20 minutes so they can pull it for me. So okay, I wait and wait till a whole hour passes and no updates. I go back in, its now 10 am, and no, its still not done. By the time they do find my order, they say for future reference to WAIT because they go in order by who ordered first, I ORDERED AT 7 AM. Anyways, they APPARENTLY don't even have the item I ordered (7 cans of Purina puppy food) in store AT ALL so they essentially make me get a different one instead and make me pay in store for it, so now im waiting for my refund on my original order. I was hesitant to write this, but I feel as though the quality of this grooming salon has diminished greatly over the past year. We have taken our dogs here for years-ever since this location opened. We loved our groomers...and then, all of a sudden, they all left. We had a student want to use a golden for her testing. When I picked up our dog, she didn't even look or smell washed. The lead groomer had us come back to have our dog re-groomed. Then, two months ago, our dog came down with pneumonia after visiting this location. Now, yesterday, I called to have her nails trimmed. The groomer said she wasn't busy and to come to the salon. Once there, she asked me to produce the rabies certificate. I told her I didn't carry it with me but could get it from our vet. I assured her that it was current because our dog had just recently had to be treated for pneumonia and we always are up to date on all of her vaccines. He reminded me that my dog had valley fever and that makes dogs more susceptible to getting pneumonia. Many dogs have Valley Fever in AZ. That does not mean that they are more susceptible to pneumonia. Any dog can get pneumonia when you do not sanitize your salon or have multiple dogs in a confined space. I did not respond to her and simply walked out of the door. I will never be back and will shop elsewhere. It is heartbreaking for us because we love this store. We buy a lot of items there, grooming, and training over the years. They need to get their act together and learn better customer service...not just for the pups, but also their pet parents. read more

I came in last Tuesday night with a friend of mine, we usually go to petco so this was our first time here. Our first visit was extremely unpleasant & unprofessional. While we were checking out our items with the cashier (I didn't get his name but he was a male with dark hair) blurted out something another coworker said over their headset about my appearance. He blurted it out to a thin tall women with blond hair, she did not entertain it. Customers in line just starred at me after it was blurted out very loudly it was extremely embarrassing and extremely uncomfortable. The headsets should be specifically for professional reasons. The tall thin women with blond hair apologized for the man's & the lady who was speaking about my apppearance over their head set. The women who apologized on their behalf played no part, I do appreciate her apologizing for the others behavior. I suggest management goes over these rules with their employees. In no way should petsmart employees gossip & rant about a customers appearance. It's extremely wrong. We are all adults here it's upsetting knowing these are the people working for petsmart. We drive from Surprise (which has its own PetSmart) to come to this PetSmart because of their amazing customer service. Nathan, one of the managers, is a rock star when it comes to taking care of customers. (Unfortunately the Surprise PetSmart's customer service is spotty, depending on the day and which manager is on staff that day.) Today (our second time visiting this specific PetSmart) we started in the Surprise store with questions about price matching on our dogs' food. We shop at PetSmart for food specifically because they price match. The Surprise store didn't want to deal with it and gave us attitude, so I called this store to check (knowing they had price matched the food for us before). We spoke to Nathan and not only did he happily help us with it, he even remembered us from 2 months before. To make it easier on us, he had the food bags ready at the cashier when we walked in the store. All we had to do was pay, the price match was done. Wow! They only get one star because there is no zero. Treated me horribly, and wouldn't take my "vicious" greyhounds. They brought out a cat, and a chihuahua after I stood, alone at first, with my two dogs. My dogs didn't drool or anything... My dogs are extremely gentle and well-trained. I stood at the counter, in a surgical boot, with 150 lbs of dogs on leashes. I had an appt, which was taken over the phone. The receptionist told me I had booked shaving services.... really? Told me it was my fault they had taken the appt incorrectly. I would NEVER request a shave of my nearly-naked dogs!
