Dr Fowler is fabulous, I absolutely love the front desk girls.. Wanda, Selma and Katie

I took my Sweetie Pie because was not eating. They said his teeth needed cleaning and extractions of three. He suffered and I took him to another vet who examined his swollen cheek and said it was cancer from my stupid friend giving him Chicken of the Sea. I never allowed any of my cats have cheap tuna as it well known carcinogenic. The type of cancer he had is very fast growing. His mama, brother snd sisters saw Sweetie leave in his carrier and carrier came home empty. His mama sniffed and meowed for days and would look inside the carrier for her baby. Glenfair was vet our family used in 70s and 80s and vet retired and sold practice to another very kind vet who was so kind when I had to euthanize another cat because a neighbor poisoned him. Vet tried to treat him but Vandal stopped eating and went into kidney failure. This was 2010. I moved away and back in 2020 and found out this kind man sold Glenfair to this new kind of vet who like so many vets these days only see dollar signs instead beloved family members. I doubt this "vet" could careless about all these terrible reviews. I believe the cancer was evident during teeth cleaning and the staff was more concerned with collecting cash for their fee. No Checks. read more

I've been going to Glenfair with my pets ever since I moved to Arizona about 20 years ago. They are wonderful and I will be continuing to take my pets there hopefully for another 20 years. read more

Best in the west! They are honest, fair priced and they take good care of your animals!

The staff at this establishment are exceptionally kind and demonstrate a genuine concern for animal welfare.

Doc Fowler and the staff at GFVH are the best. The doc is honest and will give you the facts pricing and prognosis upfront , instead of giving you an estimate and leaving you to decide what your pet is worth to you. We have been going to them for over 10 years as well as my friends, family and former employers and co-workers. No it's not a big fancy clinic it's a small one vet office with staff that truly care about the animals and won't price gouge you. They treat us like family and are always friendly compassionate and helpful. read more

I went to the clinic yesterday and my cat was so scared that when I lifted him up to put him on the table he scratched and bit me so bad they got out the First Aid Kit. The lady attendant bandaged me up and they were able to put him in a nylon sleeve and control him. Dr Jon K. Fowler came in and gave him the vaccination needed for travel, never said hello to me, and announced "Don't bring him back here". I said "he's not coming back as we are moving". The two lady attendants were wonderful to me and my cat, the Dr. not so much. I would recommend the ladies to treat your pet but the Dr needs to get some bed some skills. read more

Horrible experience! My mother called to have a stray cat put down as it had presumably been hit by a car and had what appeared to be a broken back....still a very emotional event having to put down an animal. When we entered the office there was nobody in the office/waiting area except for one gentleman waiting for his dog. Once he received his dog, a receptionist appeared and immediately confirmed that we were there for euthanasia and it was $100. After the $100 was paid the front desk girl advised to have a seat. Thirty minutes later we were called back to see the veterinarian, however the Vet Tech had to get the poor cats's weight first. She reached into the cage and grabbed the cat by the scruff of her neck, pulled her out of the cage and weighed her. She then grabbed her again and dropped her into the cage. (This seemed a bit rough since the cat was in so much pain.) Moments later the veterinarian came in with the tech and gave the cat a tranquilizer injection by having the tech grab the cat by the back of the head and push down..again a little rough since the cat was already taking its last breaths. All this time my mother was trying to explain to the tech and veterinarian how she was hoping she was doing the right thing for this animal that came to her back yard after being injured. Empathy was not a priority at this veterinary clinic! This whole nightmare of an experience reminded me of what robots performing euthanasia would look like. Unfortunately 5 minutes later the tranquilizer still had not worked, and still not in another 5 minutes so the poor cat had to endure another round of head forced into the floor of the carrier and another tranquilizer injection. Finally she quietly dozed off and the veterinarian returned to pull her out of the carrier by the scruff on the back of her neck and lay her on the table so he could prep her for the final dose. "Silence is golden" I guess was the mission of the office as no one, yes no one, could say anything or listen with empathy. After the veterinarian shaven the thigh, doused the area with alcohol and injected the cat with the medication that would consume the cats last breath, he was in a hurry to say the cat had no heart beat and we could stay as long as we needed as he and his technician scurried out the door. Unfortunately I have been to many veterinarians to put down an animal. All of them except for this horrible experience yesterday, had compassion and empathy as they carried out their responsibilities. I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone, even though it has been around forever and definitely WILL NOT take any animal, even the stray dying animals here again. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. I took my Australian Shepherd in on Friday because he stopped eating. The Vet spent less than 5 minutes with him and stated he needed dental work done. Said he may need a couple of teeth pulled. Unfortunately the first available appt was over a week away. We called around to other vets to no avail. When I came home from work on Monday, 3 days later, my husband told me we needed to go to the emergency vet. We took him to Blue Pearl and within 10 minutes of arriving, I hear them say move @%#$# to critical. We were immediately brought back to be told that he most certainly had liver cancer. The whites of his eyes were yellow, his gums were barely pink. I had to say goodbye to my best friend. How does a vet miss this! Do not take your fur baby here. They are incompetent. This should have not been overlooked. Blue Pearl was amazing, explained everything, gave us every option, prognosis to be able to make the best decision for my best friend. I can't believe he is gone. Again Glenfair Veterinary Hospital is absolutely HORRIBLE, stay away!! read more

They cleaned my dogs teeth and had to pull a tooth. It turns out they left part of one behind. I took my dog to another vet when her face swelled up and she wouldn't eat. They did a dental x-ray and to find it and then got it out. They don't charge you much but that's because they don't do what they should. The other vet told me teeth should never be pulled without x-rays. Glenfair was cheap initially, but not in the long run. my dog suffered for no reason read more

On Friday we had to put my Queen Coco down as soon as I walked through the front door I was hit with wave of a motion and blessed of the staff didn't make me feel judge I understood an they were compassionate especially when me and my mother were saying goodbye we're blessed they had affordable prices for my family and I to come up with the money to allow our queen to not feel pain anymore. They were so gentle with her and she went as peaceful as we could hope for as we were saying our goodbyes the doctor was amazing and told us to please not rush take all the time that we needed. It's nice walking into an animal hospital on them understanding that these are just not pets their family and it warmed my heart knowing that they care more about that than anything else Thank you Dr. and staff you guys are truly amazing read more

The most affordable and quality vet. I took my long hair dashaund for her dental cleaning and possible extraction. They ended up doing a deep cleaning, no extractions, and prescribed a 7 day antibiotic medication, which cost a mere $247 dollars. Where other places their starting rate is around $200 and up. I would definitely recommend this vet to others. read more

We did thorough research prior to putting our sweet little Papillion to rest. While I will admit that the prices are good, I would never recommend this doctor/veterinarian. His name is Jon Fowler, DVM. On Monday, April 10, 2023, we brought our beloved 15 year old Papillion to be euthanized. The front desk staff was very nice; the vet tech (or Assistant) was also very nice. We were then brought to the room where our little dog was weighed. After just a few minutes "some man" who never identified himself, and who never offered his condolences, and who was not dressed in any other manner than a regular man's shirt, opened the door, and spent a total of less than one minute telling us he was going to sedate our little dog, and she would fall asleep, and they would come back between five and 10 minutes for the euthanasia process. He did tell us we could come back to witness which we declined. This man showed no signs of being professional... He showed no empathy; he did not even introduce himself. From all presentations, he could have been the custodian. His diploma says he graduated from CSU in Fort Collins Colorado however, this man has no bedside manner and does not leave you with a good feeling. Fortunately, our little Sheila didn't know the difference. This was a very difficult thing for us to do, and we expect nothing but professionalism. Again, no introduction of himself? What kind of doctor does that? What kind of veterinarian who is about to put your beloved pet to sleep, does not at a minimum offer his condolences? This is why we are doing everything in our power to let other people know that this is not the place to go. I had to call the following day to get his name because he was never so much as introduced to us by name. God bless our little Sheila, and we are so fortunate she did not have to suffer, but we as owners left with broken hearts. NEVER Would I recommend this place. I guess the cliché "you get what you pay for" holds true in this case. read more

Excellent!! My 15 year old dog started having dental issues and I was able to get her seen last minute. The staff was caring and helpful with arranging my dog to be seen the next day. Poor baby had to get 16 teeth removed and she did fabulous. The cost was the best in town but more importantly her care was top notch. The staff explained all after care in detail and sent us home with antibiotics and pain meds that were included in the price. I would recommend this Vet to friends and family. Thanks, Kaihya read more

My cat had fip, The vet took his time on educating me on what it meant. They were very helpful when she passed.

This place doesn't have a lot of frills, but what it does have is affordable pet care and a staff that cares. I brought my 3 cats in to get check up's before flying cross country. I'm not sure if you've ever tried to travel with 3 cats before, but let me tell you, it's not easy! The staff were very helpful, helping me carry their crates and holding the doors open for me. The doctor was very thorough, and even looked up the state laws for where the cats were landing to ensure they had all the proper documentation. The visit took about an hour, longer than I was expecting, but I was very pleased with how thorough they were and the price, which was 1/3 of the price I was quoted else where. Thank you for the great service and experience! **I would also recommend following them on facebook, they post some very cute and helpful videos! read more

Brought my dog in for a mass in his mouth. My dog growled a little at the tech and vet, was not posturing or biting. The vet never came from the other side of the room to get a close look at him, only had me lift his lip and then said it was probably cancer and have us some options including surgery. He said he was worried about the bleeding but hed never had an animal bleed out. When I asked if he could speak with my husband on speaker to give us our options he said no, he had another appointment. Absolutely no compasso. The room was dirty and floor was stained with what looked like blood under the table. I guess that's what you get for $45. 2 days later, when my dog started hemmoraging from his mouth, we went to a real vets office, where they actually took the time to examine him. He was suffering and in distress and we ended up having to put him down. DO NOT BRING YOUR BABIES HERE. Spend the extra money, it will be worth it and maybe your first babies life, in the end. read more

I have been taking my puppy to Glenfair Veterinarian Hospital for 12 years. Dr. Alexlander is professional, takes his time to make sure I understood the diagnosis. I never felt rushed. The people at Glenfair Veterinary Hospital are fantastic. The price for any service here is easily one-third of anywhere else, and the service you receive is genuine. Literally the worst experience I have ever had at a Vet. We took our Greyhound because he was showing symptoms of hookworm. Our dog had previously been taken there by the adoption agency we got him from, so that's really the only reason we chose Glenfair because we assumed the staff would be familiar with him and other greyhounds. That was not the case. Dr. Fowler was extremely unprofessional and rude. Spent $40 to be told he seemed healthy even after I described the symptoms of hookworm he was showing. Wound up coming back to drop off a stool sample and low and behold, he had hookworm. Had to bring him back for a heartworm exam and medication and the staff didn't even remember our dog and Fowler did not even remember what he told me over the phone a few weeks prior. He told me something completely different than what was discussed earlier. I'm coming here expecting the VET to tell me what's wrong and what needs to be done to treat the parasites and Fowler came off very uneducated and apathetic. Didn't even explain to me what the medication was he was giving me or how to use it. He just wanted to get us out. The staff does NOT know how to handle large/scared dogs. They all surrounded him into a corner that he peed himself and they quickly shoved him into another room without inviting me in. Needless to say, I took his medication and got the hell out of there and I'll never be going back. The whole experience made me very uncomfortable and worried. Which is the complete OPPOSITE of how it should feel taking your fur baby to the vet. Also, the places is filthy, no AC. An actual shack. Please do not take your animals here. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR BABIES HERE! My dog was experiencing vomiting, fatigue, and not eating at all. We brought her right away hoping to figure out what was wrong. Dr. Fowler did not examine my dog AT ALL. He walked in and asked what were her symptoms, I explained to him her symptoms. He then asked if she was spayed and I replied no. Without any tests, blood work, or physical examination done, he concluded that she was ill because she was not spayed. I then asked if he will perform any exam/test to confirm and he said no, to leave her there or take her in tomorrow for surgery. He prescribed her medication for infection. The next day, my dog would not get up and seemed to do worse. I decided to take her else where. Right away, the NEW VET told me to leave her to perform thorough tests/physical examination. Her diagnosis is Diabetes. She had her sugar levels above 400. This new place/new vet told us that if we hadn't brought her in, she could have died because of how high her sugar level was. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO GLENFAIR HOSPITAL. They did not diagnose my fur baby correctly. read more

The Vet's and the staff are the best in the state ! we took both of our pit bulls there for all their medical needs. On one occassion, our 7yr old female had to have an emergency hysterectomy, (can you believe it ! ) and i called the clinic and they got us in right away and saved her life ! she would have died if not for their quick treatment. we were patients of theirs for about 10 yrs. our older dog died two yrs ago of old age and the other one died a few months ago. they both lived to be 14 yrs old. When we adopt more dogs, we will be taking them only here. i cant say enough about how great the dr's and staff are! the prices are reasonable and they really do care about all the animals they take care of. we drive all the way over there even tho we live in mesa. we will NEVER go anywhere else. GOD BLESS GLENFAIR VET HOSPITAL AND THE STAFF. (still makes me cry just talkin about my dogs) thank you dr's and staff. Nina dog & Sadie dog's Mom.... read more

Working at a school in Maryvale, I see a lot of animals that are not loved and cared for. When some students brought in kittens they found this morning, I couldn't sit around and not do anything for them. The kids' parents deny owning any pets and had no idea where the kittens may have come from. On the way to Sun Valley (the no-kill I am most familiar with), I realized they did not open for 2 more hrs. I found this office with my GPS and was very worried they would send me away. But - no! They were caring and compassionate and the vet said they could help me out. Thank you to all the ladies who helped me bid farewell to the tiny little kittens. I do hope they are okay. Thank you to the vet at Glenfair! read more

I can't say enough amazing things about this vet. Dr Grant is amazing. He has been seeing our dogs for a couple of years, today we had to make the tough decision to put one of our boys to sleep. Dr. Grant was so informative and willing to do whatever we chose and not milk us dry financially. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Grant. read more

I took my dog to this vet because it was recommended to me by a coworker, and my dog had been coughing for a week. After a very quick visit and inspection of my dog, the vet told me he was just having allergy problems and needed antihistamines. I complied with his directions, yet less than a week later, my dogs lungs filled up with fluid and he collapsed on the floor right in front of me, DEAD, drowned in his own fluid. Allergies don't do that! So now my dog is dead because this quack failed to correctly diagnose him because he was in such a hurry to move on the the next wallet... or "patient", as he calls it. He sure enough took my money for the service, but didn't bother to do the job to earn the money. Now my dog is dead, I lost a member of my family because of this place. Be warned, if you love your dog, go somewhere with more knowledgeable vets. read more

Their reviews looked good so I thought I'd give them a try. I called the office friday morning and couldn't get an appointment til Monday at 1:00. As I had some pretty sick kitties, that wasn't good news, but I settled for it. I didn't get a good feel from the moment I stepped into their examination room as the tech was strangely smiling at me like she thought I was weird or crazy. I ignored that, thinking I was imagining it. Then the doctor came in and he was kind of weird too. I remained open minded, and thought all in all that we had a pretty good chat and examination. I brought in two very sick kitties...they had severe upper respiratory infections, which is a chronic problem I had been fighting for a year and a half with my previous vet. This is why I was looking for a new vet, with new insights and hopefully a better attitude. Dr. Ruiz faxed an antibiotic prescription to my pharmacy as I requested, but It took him over 24 hours to do so, and Iso had the medication shipped 2nd day air at $17.50, and it arrived thursday afternoon. By this time the kitties were even sicker and I was very upset. Dr Ruiz requested that I call him on the following Monday to let him know how this generic antibiotic was working. Instead of just calling, I personally drove to his clinic and hand delivered a thank you note thanking him for the service, telling him the kitties were responding to the medication and requesting another prescription be faxed, as this one was about to be used up. I waited two days to hear back from him to no avail, and then resorted to phoning the office at 8:30AM on.thursday....requesting a call back. I have still not heard from the dear doctor, and it is friday. If he didn't want to fax in a prescription for me he could have called and said so. It is not nice to let sick kitties suffer without medication. The good news is I found a great vet today! It took me four tries, with three poor vets to find a good one. That is why I am writing this review. You can't tell the good ones from the poor ones without a referral. I give this one a thumbs down. He doesn't get into the office til 9am, even though the clinic opens at 8am. and they close at 12:00 on weds...and saturday. Short hours if you are having a problem and need them quick...just saying. Anyway, you can do better. Don't go here. read more
