Petit Trois, you had me at the white tablecloths and little Parisian café vibe -- tucked into a tiny strip mall shopping plaza, but somehow transporting you straight to France. The service was absolutely on pointe thanks to Kaiya, Teri, and Randy. Warm, polished, attentive, and just the right amount of fun. Hubs and I split everything, which was the right move because this meal was rich, delicious, and very filling. We started with the baguette bread service, which is an additional charge but 100% worth it. The bread, salted butter, and mixed berry spread were pure France in a basket. Next up was the French onion soup, and wow. Cheesy, full of flavor, with a beautiful broth that somehow managed to be rich without being too salty. Perfection. Then came the Big Mec burger, as seen on Food Network's top burgers -- and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. Definitely enough for two. Perfectly seasoned patties, melty cheese, a fresh brioche bun, and that bordelaise sauce bath underneath? Flavor-forward, decadent, and unforgettable. We rounded out the meal with a slice of French toast because apparently we make excellent life choices. Also delicious, also worth sharing. This was not just lunch -- it was an experience. Will I go back? Absolument! Next up: dinner.

Tried the Big Mec and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. Husband also agreed. Cocktails were sublime.

Not sure how I had never been to Petit Trois, but here we were. Was in the area, so made a quick reservation and we headed over. Got seated on the patio on a beautiful day, so we were perfectly happy. After a quick glance at the menu, our recommendations from our server, we decided to order. We started with the escargot, as one does at a French restaurant, and the French onion soup. The escargot cube bathed in butter, garlic and parsley and were very tasty. I mean, how can they not be when bathed in garlic and butter? The French onion soup was also delicious with ample gruyere cheese overflowing. Pure indulgence! For entrees, we all tried something different. The steak frites were.... steak frites. If you've tried one, you've tried most, so not very memorable. The duck confit was cooked well and not overly fatty, which was nice. The omelette, let me say, is beautiful to look at. You almost don't want to touch it because it is very picrure-esque, and absolutely cooked perfectly. A, dare I say, perfect omelette. Finally was the Big Mec. Now, there are a lot of good burgers in Los Angeles, but the Big Mec is one of the greats. So much flavor with the double wagyu patties, cheese, special sauce all while sitting in a Bordelaise sauce. It isn't something you would eat every day, as it is heavy, but it is phenomenal when you do. I'd say one of the top five burgers in Los Angeles, in my humble opinion. Overall, delicious French restaurant in Hollywood, a little above Hancock Park, serving delicious food. Get the escargot and French onion soup to start, and definitely get the omelette and the Big Mec, you will not be disappointed.

I like the big mec more! Was missing the borderlaise sauce from the big mec as the wagyu burger's sauce is more cheesy and thick. Ended up eating most of the wagyu and burger separately as I am a messy eater. Fries were delicious as they were last year during our first visit. Wagyu was buttery and soft though, which lets me know I need to make haste and come back to try the steak frites. :) Banana cream pie had a lot of flavors - some sourness from the banana ice cream, toasted coconut praline dust, and coconut caramel - some chunks of banana were more ripe than others. Would opt for the creme brulee next time! Service was good, water constantly refilled during this very rich meal. The bathroom, however, did get clogged towards the end of our meal so I did not get to wash my grubby hands post meal. I think we need to limit the amount of toilet paper available in the bathroom because there is an insane amount of tp in the bathroom.

This had been on my list for a while and it lived to the standard I had in mind. I came for the steak frites and big mec. Even though those were good it wasn't life changing. But to my unexpected surprise the liver mouse was so delicious and umami paired with such well toasted bread.

Prix fixe: Beet salad - horseradish cream is too intense and there's a lot of it. I wouldn't order this again. The beets and nuts were nice but pretty overwhelmed by the horseradish, even when I tried to avoid getting any of it on my fork. And I'm not a person who hates horseradish, by any means. I would try the Boston lettuce salad next time. Steak frites - the fries were evenly crisp (fried in clarified butter), the herb butter sauce was fresh and light, the steak was a nice medium to medium-rare, even on a piece this small. I would definitely get this again. I'm not sure what the portion difference is between the prix and the regular, but this felt well worth the price we paid as part of the prix fixe. Big Mec Burger - The burger, while cooked nicely medium rare, was a difficult knife and fork burger, due to it sitting in a pool of demi glace. The flavors of the burger were nice, but they might get a little taken over by the sauce. It is an incredibly expensive burger, and I question it's worth. Chocolate mousse - topped with cacao nibs, dark chocolate shavings and hazelnuts. A very rich milk chocolate flavor and a much stretchier almost pudding like texture than I have encountered in a mousse before. Honestly not my favorite dish. I would try the puff pastry option next time! We also got: French onion soup - big pieces of onion in here, that they maybe did not cut the entire bottom of the onion off of. Peppery, but not overly so. It was flavorful with a very satisfying amount of cheese, baked perfectly on the top. Felt like it could have used one more element....salt? Or an herb? It was good but we didn't find it outstanding, especially for the price. Overall, only the prix lunch deal (12-4 M-F) felt worth the price. I'd definitely come back here for that. We were interested in a couple of other menu items that we didn't try, so we'll likely be back someday. I've had better versions of everything we ordered at a better price elsewhere in town, tho. We ate in the bar portion of the restaurant. Service was helpful, friendly and leisurely. Probably a place where you'll have to flag your waiter down, as they're trying to let you enjoy your meal unhurried and uninterrupted. Bathrooms were clean and well appointed. Patio area was closed due to rain when we dined but it looks like a nice space with plenty of shade.

Everything we tried was excellent! Burger was juicy, which they are known for. The mussels were fresh and in a yummy sauce. Service was fast and good.

This restaurant is a gem. From the staff to the quality of ingredients, the food, the presentation, the menu, the ambiance. The drinks looked superb. We got the piña-mix mocktail. So good. And the frosé looked yummy. Got to see Chef Ludo who's great. We were celebrating my mom's 83rd bday. What a special treat it was. Highly recommend.

Honestly, it's pretty hard to find a truly authentic French spot in Los Angeles. Most places feel more French-inspired than the real deal. Honestly, this is the closest we've found to that cozy French bistro experience by far. Even the decor gives you that transported-to-Europe kind of feeling. My favorite has to be the Burgundy escargot. They're super rich, buttery, and full of flavor. The Wagyu steak frites is perfectly cooked and insanely tender. Absolute delicious! The duck confit is also done really well. The meat falls right off the bone, and the fat is beautifully rendered and fragrant. The only drawback is that the sauce leans a bit salty, I wish it were slightly more balanced, because the dish itself is excellent. Also worth noting is the housemade baguette, golden and crisp on the outside, with a soft, airy interior. It complemented the escargot perfectly, and the cocktails held their own. Luckily we made a reservation, because the hostess at the entrance wasn't very friendly and would have only seated us outdoors on a blazing hot day. Once you get past the rude hostess, everything else was wonderful. Fortunately, the servers inside were fantastic, and I would absolutely come back to try more.

I was invited here by a friend, and it turned out to be a really lovely experience. It's a French restaurant with valet parking available, but you can also find free street parking nearby if you prefer. The food had a lot of depth and was overall very flavorful. The onion soup was definitely the highlight -- rich, comforting, and one of those warm, satisfying dishes you don't come across that often. The beef tartare was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The omelette was a bit too cheesy for my taste, though that might just come down to personal preference. Banana tart is so good. Try this. The outdoor seating had a great brunch vibe and was really enjoyable, while the indoor space felt a bit small and tight. Service was also very good -- attentive and friendly throughout. Overall, a solid spot with a great atmosphere and some standout dishes.

I've been to the Sherman Oaks location several times over the last 10 years and I decided to try the original Hollywood location. Upon entering, it is very very small. The front room is counter seating only and it's very cramped and a bit claustrophobic. Thankfully we got a seat at the bar in the back room which was much more spacious and relaxing. One thing to mention, I loved the bar chairs. Most bar chairs are not that comfortable but these were surprisingly comfortable. Our hostess was super friendly but our main server was a bit curt which put a damper on our experience. We got the feeling that we were annoying him which made our meal a bit awkward. We started with the baguettes and French onion soup. The bread was good and soup was one of the better ones I've had. Perfectly balanced but extremely overpriced at $25. For our entrees we got the burger and steak frites. The burger was juicy and delicious but they could tone it down a touch with the bordelaise sauce as it's a bit overwhelming and messy. The streak frites were perfectly cooked at medium rare but the peppercorn was a bit much and it was very salty. The true flavors of steak would have shined more with a lighter spices. We got the soufflé for dessert and was it was excellent. Overall our meal was good but I've definitely had better and lower prices so I don't see myself running back anytime soon. I will say that the valley location is much more of a vibe with a better lively atmosphere but the Hollywood location has better food.

We had a lovely meal at Petit Trois. The escargot was surprisingly delicious -- rich, garlicky, and perfect for dipping bread into the sauce. The peach burrata was excellent, though the basil leaf on top didn't seem quite as fresh as the rest of the dish. The butter pasta for our toddler was simple but very well done. Our son absolutely loved it and happily finished a good portion. The fish was the biggest surprise of the night -- perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The duck leg was tender, rich, and full of aroma, with meat falling right off the bone. For dessert, the banana dessert was outstanding and a perfect ending to the meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food and a family-friendly atmosphere. We'd happily come back.

We were introduced to French omelette by Chef Ludo's videos. We've been visiting Petit Trois for a few years now. It was one of the first restaurants we visited once we were allowed to during the pandemic. Inside all the seating are at the chefs counter or individual seating facing the opposite wall. Chefs counter is always cool. We get to watch them make all the food and the making of the French omelette is always a fun watch. This location also has an outdoor seating. It's basically in the parking lot but since they're at the end, you don't get any cars passing by. Last time we came we would need to pay for valet if we wanted to park inside the lot but we found parking across the street. We ordered the French omelette (per usual). This is a very buttery, smooth, rich, and runny. If you prefer your eggs super cooked and dry, this isn't the dish for you. It's cooked in butter, Boursin cheese in the center, and glazed with butter on the outside. Topped with chives and a simple salad. The salad balances out the richness of the omelette. They make sure that it is rolled to perfection. We also ordered the steak frites. That was also very buttery (by the way they use the good European butter). What's the difference between European butter and regular American butter you ask? Well, European butter is higher in fat content and lower in water percentage so it creates a very rich flavor and such creamy texture. The steak was cooked as asked. The frites were crispy on the outside but perfectly cooked inside. I cook a lot so I can usually pick out a lot of the herbs & spices used in a dish. But I could not place the taste of the steak. It was delicious but different. So I asked our server what it was and that's how I learned about Chervil. I met Chef Ludo once at the Sherman Oaks location. Very nice guy. I did not expect him to be the one to bring out of meals so that was a nice surprise.

Overall this restaurant layout was pretty cool and the night we went the noise level was moderate but I can see that if its packed this place could get loud. They offer outdoor seating as well that looked cozy. Our waiter and his team was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed so service was exceptional. Food is always an area that I leave up to everyone's own taste. To me I felt some of the dishes needed more salt but I always enjoy my food from how the chef prepped it so I can try new dishes.

There's a few tables in the front patio as well, and it seemed like everyone had a reservation. Make sure to book yours in advance! We walked in around when they opened so we were lucky. Since this was our first time, we tried the Japanese breakfast with mackerel and the shokupan with fruit compotes to share as dessert. We also ordered hot tea as a beverage. Everything was SOOOOO GOOD. 10/10! Quality of the ingredients, seasoning, taste, temperature, variety - all hit the mark. I could eat the Japanese breakfast everyday... it was so light but packed with flavor and had so many different items on the plate that made the entire experience really fun to eat. The hojicha tea was so soothing and a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The shokupan was perfect and not too sweet. It was perfect to share between the three of us! Service was excellent and friendly. Staff came by constantly to check in on us! We loved the hospitality and can see why there's usually a line outside! I can't wait to come back to try the daily bento!

The staff is quite attentive and we got our food in a prompt manner. I thought the chawanmushi was well prepared and don't miss the salmon roe on top that makes a huge difference. The seasonal special cold udon is sooo nice. I love the thinness of the noodle and the soup hits just right as chilled. Basic but good for hot days. Then my fiancé's eel bowl was fine but he did say that it still doesn't quite compare to Japan. The eel isn't as fatty but decent. A solid spot overall for a more authentic Japanese experience.
