    Seafood linguine
    Keith L.

Great foot and efficient service. I got the seafood linguine and there was more seafood especially lobster than linguine. The fish and chips were huge and my son said it was the best fish and chips he has had. My other son had the mac and cheese lobster and it was good but not great. The location is nice and the inside had the nautical vibe.

Wanted some seafood, but were told no lunch on Veterans Day, only breakfast. And no seafood of any kind for breakfast, not even fish. Don't come if you really want seafood, might not have on holiday. The Pete's special wasn't that special anyway

Most definitely not a tourist trap. This North Boston establishment is located in an industrialized neighborhood where it seems blue collar workers like to frequent for a satisfying lunch. My friend and I were very hungry so we both got the seafood platter that included fried haddock, shrimp, and scallops with fries and slaw. The batter on all the items was so light and flakey it didn't feel heavy after finishing it. The dining area is not super fancy but it's not supposed to be. I really got the sense this was an authentic meal locals get and the staff were very polite.

Kinda tricky to find with all of the surrounding construction. Looks like it's attached to a warehouse. They serve breakfast, lunch and even pizza by the slice. Really friendly service. Small seating area. Fairly quick service and reasonable prices. Food was good. Haddock from the fish sandwich was a pretty nice size and crispy/cooked to perfection.

Where can you have breakfast for two for $20.00 and free parking while you eat in the Boston Seaport district? Pete's Dockside! Order your food at the counter at this no-frills eatery. Don't let the hole in the wall by a loading dock setting turn you away. The cheese omelet was cooked well as requested; the bacon, eggs, and toast were as expected and the home fries were delicious. The servers were friendly and took the orders expeditiously. We'll have to come back for pizza; it looked delicious!

This little gem is kinda tucked in a corner we almost missed it. Food was delicious and the portions are big. The ambiance is like eating at a dockside diner, the staff is friendly. And the service is quick.

    Blueberry pancake, only $1.25!!

Ironically, I discovered Pete's Dockside on my last day living in Seaport. It's definitely in a random location compared to the actual neighborhoody part of the neighborhood, but that makes it a hidden gem. It seems the most frequent patrons are the construction workers who work nearby. The menu is surprisingly broad--I ordered a few things, including eggs and a pancake (which was huge). This is more homestyle food, so don't expect any "artisinal" fruit preserves and such here, but you know that is not the vibe here so it's not a problem. My blueberry pancake was only $1.25, which is totally unbelievable to be in/near Seaport! A lady brought my order out to me once it was ready; I actually didn't realize in the beginning that they had table service. Word to the wise: The hot water dispenser for tea is like scalding, melt-ya-skin-off-for-real level hot, so be careful! The friendly guy behind the register warned me about that, which I appreciated. I hope Pete's stays around for a long time.

Seafood platter with sweet potato fries and mixed vegetables

Of course I found this place on my last day in Boston Well, it was partially because it closes at 2. What a hidden gem! I decided to try it for lunch. I walked in just before a rush, apparently the locals already know what's up. The staff was friendly and offered to assist with any questions. The menu is on a couple of chalk boards hanging up giving the restaurant a real lunch counter feel. This restaurant has no frills, but the food is good. I decided on the seafood platter, this included haddock, scallops and shrimp all fried and opted for sweet potato fries and mixed vegetables instead of regular fries and coleslaw. It was a lot of food and the most reasonable amount I've paid for food my entire stay in Boston. If you're close, give it a try my food was awesome and too much for me to finish in one sitting.

Went for breakfast but missed the window! 11am. Instead had an early lunch and it was fantastic. Grilled Haddock Mashed potatoes and gravy on the side Steamed vegetables Serving for an army and the price was $20 for plate and bottled soda. Easily could have split/shared. It is hard to find but we kept going passed the dock area and discovered a stair well on the corner. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Food came out in a timely manner, no confusion, no chaos. They were friendly, attentive, and actually knew the menu, offering solid recommendations without overcomplicating it. Managing a group that size is not easy, and they made it look smooth. AMBIANCE: This place leans more Boston bar energy than traditional fine dining, and that is part of the charm. It was packed, a little tight at times, but it felt alive. You are not coming here for quiet elegance, you are coming for the buzz, the movement, and that shared experience of a packed room enjoying great food together. FOOD: We went all in and ordered family-style, almost tapas style, sharing everything across the table. Squid ink pasta, black pasta, fried calamari, grilled octopus, dish after dish hitting the table. Everything was delicious, but what really stood out was the sauce. The broths, the richness, the depth of flavor, that is what stayed with me. I found myself talking about it mid-meal, and I was not the only one. At one point, people were practically trying to drink the sauce straight from the plate. That is when you know it is hitting on another level. You know you're doing a good job when you put much thought down to how you make your sauces and broths. I was impressed from both a top down and bottom up level of culinary experience. IMPRESSIONS: I need to come back here to on more sauces and broths.

The combination of it being limited seating (it holds less than 20 people) and being a popular spot makes it quite hard to get in without a long wait, so I would recommend right when it opens. Food wise, we got the Squid Ink Pasta and Calamari. The calamari was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside, which I find a lot of restaurants don't do a great job of doing. The squid ink pasta was also delicious and on par with any quality Italian restaurants in NYC. I would come back again if I'm ever in the Boston area and want a nice Italian restaurant. Also this place is CASH ONLY so be prepared before coming.

Turns out, it's about what you can expect from this type of chain: good service, very pleasant ambiance...and thoroughly mediocre, overpriced food. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it came directly from Sysco. Previously I had tried the "Legal Seafoods Clam Chowder" sold at Costco, and found it to be very so-so compared to the "Captain Parker's" version sold at Market Basket. I was hoping the in-restaurant version would be much better. Wrong. Probably the most appalling thing about the food here were the fries, which come with most of the dishes unless you specifically ask for a substitute. I was glad that I did, because when I tasted my friend's fries, they were just about the most dry, bland, doughy-like frozen fries you could imagine. Only thing you can do with fries like that is to oversalt the bejesus out of them, and drown them in ketchup. Best thing we (party of 4) had was the Steak Salad---but when the menu says "petit sirloin" you dang better believe they MEAN "petit," lol ... it was about 3-4 mouthfuls tops! Really more of an appetizer worth $15 at most, not the $28 normal entree pricing. Fish and chips were particularly dismal---the fish was tasteless, most likely frozen just like the horrible fries. I've had better fish and chips from humble diner type places like Mike's Roast Beef in Everett, for Chrissakes. Hell, even Friendly's Fish and Chips doesn't seem that bad in comparison, lol. Swordfish and trout were somewhat less bad, but also suffered from the avalanche of cardboard fries. Anyways, now I know: I wasn't missing anything all these years.
