This is a really great Petco, and one of the better ones that I've been to. The store is clean and organized, and the employees are friendly. They are always willing to assist you, and will answer any questions that you might have. It is clear that they genuinely love animals and their jobs. I primarily come here for fish, and I find the selection to be pretty good. However, I have noticed that many of the fish they sell are out of stock for long periods of time. Pet supplies in general at Petco is overpriced, so I would buy most of that from Amazon if possible. I do wish Petco would take better care of their frogs though. The set-ups they have just aren't appropriate for the dart frogs that they sell. The employees really do try their best to care for the animals, but this is probably something not in their control, as corporate probably tells them what the set-ups should be like. Overall, this is a nice, clean Petco with well-intentioned employees. read more

I Stood and watched a guinea pig seize for 10 minutes at petco. Walked around the store trying to find someone to let them know the guinea pig is seizing and who knows how long it had been seizing for. All the bedding was around it and it looked like it had been lateral for awhile. I informed someone and they left to get a box and one of the workers just grabbed him and walked away. No thank you or any form of acknowledgement. Very disappointed. read more

I really appreciate the customer service during times like this. My dog just had a tumor removed and we were having cone trouble. I wish I knew their names but they were angels in disguise. One lady helped me find excellent options and another lady at the register help me find my discount. Absolutely love and appreciate these people and just had show my appreciation. Although Petco and pet smart are great pet supply stores, DO NOT buy animals, especially reptiles and amphibians from them. They give no medical background and are almost guaranteed to be riddled with parasites. I have purchased 3 animals from pet smart and Petco and they all died withing 2 months of some crazy unknown cause. Please do not buy animals from these places. read more

They didn't handle taking my pet back well. They rushed her to the pet hospital and said they would call when they got called by they vet. It took the staff at this petco almost 2 hours to call and say they gave the go ahead to euthanize my pet. When I never heard back from them I went to the vet and they said they had called and go permission from this petco within the first hour of my pet getting rushed to the pet hospital. Then after I finally got a call back from them to tell me they gave the go ahead to the pet hospital. The staff at this petco handled the situation very poorly. Would never recommend getting a pet here, ever. read more

The new store is very very nice. It feels upscale lol I went there when I decided that I wanted to start an aquarium and had no clue of where to begin. Gabriella at aquatics was super super helpful! She is very knowledgeable and friendly she took her time and explain to me what I needed to do and what fish/plant would work best. They do get busy on the weekends so wait time can be a little long but the staff is nice and friendly so I don't mind. read more

Bought a couple salt water fish from this location. The fish were diseased and killed our entire saltwater tank off. Beware when purchasing any fish from this location. $3,000 literally flushed down the toilet. The staff is really nice and helpful but they really need to look into purchasing their fish from a better source. There was also a man behind me with 5 freshwater fish that died after 24 hours. Hmmmm.... Not to mention the fact that they sell fish with visible ICK at half price. So disappointed. read more

Went to the self wash. The station was full of fur. That I had to wash away. The shampoo and conditioner were so diluted. That I almost used the whole bottle on my 10 pound dog. It was convenient but next time I'm bringing my own shampoo and conditioner. read more

I like the remodeled Petco. It's a lot more open and bright. I love the dog wash stations they have set up where you can use their doggy tubs and supplies to wash your own dog. I just wish the drying station was a better invention. Not so great experience with the dog groomers. They nicked my dogs skin when getting a haircut. Also paid extra for buffing and balm and they didn't do it. read more

Wanted to update my review. A few months back Jessica, our regular groomer, either moved on or was promoted. I wasn't clear which. My dog was then given to another groomer who was made aware that he is a difficult dog. They are no longer able to handle him and I did not appreciate showing up to pick up my dog and he was half finished. To their credit they did refund my money but clearly they no longer have anyone who is good wth difficult dogs. They wasted my time and after I had indicated I wouldn't be bringing him back they decided to let me know they would be "referring him out". Won't be coming back here to purchase anything either. read more

Since this pet store has remodeled, it has become a joke. I am a marine fish hobbyist so I always went to Petco for their salt water selection. before the remodel they had a very nice saltwater selection and a couple of people there who actually knew what they were talking about. during the remodel I was told by staff members that the "new" salt water fish section would be bigger and better than ever. When the remodel was finally complete I noticed that the fish section was smaller but was much nicer than before and with a wave tank, several other specialty tanks and their usual freshwater selection. Within a few months the wave tank was gone the specialty tanks were gone in the fish department look unkept and filled with idiots. To make a long story short I will never be back there again. Their staff are idiots and their selection is poor. read more

I really love Petco in general, but was very disappointed in my last visit to do a self serve dog wash. There was one open spot, the Petco employee had to leave for 10 minutes to get a clean basket of towels and shampoo, etc. When she finally returned, the tub I was given had not been cleaned out and there was a huge amount of dark dog hair. When I commented, the employee was happy to clean it out, but I should not have had to ask. The shampoo that is provided is so watered down that it takes almost the entire bottle for me to get suds to come up on my 45 lb. lab. I understand that a lot of people may use too much, so Petco sees a need to water it down, however, at $15 a wash, I think the shampoo could be less watered down. The towels are also not very big and are not very soft. The $10 fee was a much better cost for what you get. read more

On or about 16 Dec 2021 , I make a change to my repeat delivery with PetCo, moving up a prescription delivery for my dog because, I knew his food would run out prior to the next delivery. The date for the next delivery was to be on 1 January, I requested that it be moved up to 24 December 2021. I made the subject request on or about 16 January 2021, trying to be proactive, because my dog has had such a hard time with his bowels. The FOOD WAS NOT DELIVERED ON 24 DEC 2021. I made two calls regarding the food, it is a damn shame when everyone seems nice enough, but not a damn thing is getting done to resolve the issue, such as the delivery being made. I was told the food was being shipped from the warehouse. But yet the website was promoting same day delivery, which I asked for due to the severity of my dogs issues with his bowels. Needless to say the food has not been delivered and I am mad because with all the promotional advertisements on the website they were unable to fulfill a needed delivery within 24 hours and I find it hard to believe that they do not have any product in the local store for situations such as this. There goes the healthier pet vision statement out the door. read more

I have been bringing my two dogs to the Temecula Petco groomers for over a year and I absolutely love the quality job they do there. My groomer I'm particularly fond of is Jessica. I started bringing my bull terrier/lab mix Harlie there first and she was a rescue dog who was very skiddish and was afraid of everyone and Jess was very gentle and understand with Harlie and was able to clean her up and trim her nails with much patience. When we got Domino our cockapoo rescue in badly need to a trim we immediately brought him there and he is like a whole new dog that we didnt know was underneath all that overgrown puppy hair. They are very informative when i ask about issues i have with my 6 month old puppy. They are comfortable with all types of dogs from my small fluffy cockapoo to large intense looking dogs who only want their bellies rubbed :-) I highly recommend them as groomers!!! read more

The over all store is OK..that's being nice.. nothing to write home about or go out of your way to visit. The fish department is hit or miss. so far its just been miss, miss, miss. I got salt water fish from them on three different occasions and every time I take my water in to them to test and make sure all is equal to there's. Sadly every time they died within 24 hours. When I contact the manager she told me that it was my fault and I should let them float longer. (then they would have suffocated) needless to say I was very disappointed with the service, and will not deal with them or recommend any one to the petco in Temecula. read more

I don't go to Petco for any other reason than to get my little dog groomed. Everything is too expensive and the rawhide bar was removed! The grooming department is amazing in how I can call them in the morning and get an appointment for later that day! The grooming prices are reasonable, too :) read more

5 Stars for Heather in Grooming!!! We have been bringing our senior dogs to Heather in the grooming salon for years now. She is ALWAYS happy to see them and even remembers their names. As I have had my dogs for several years, I can tell when they are comfortable with people or not. I continue to love this Petco. I live next to the Murrieta Petco and still go to this one because they're so great with my dog. I have a mini doxie who is very stand offish with strangers. She can get very scrappy. I went to grooming to have her nails done for the first time because she won't let me do it anymore at home. A gentleman there tried to help me but she scared of men so he went and got Stephanie. She was so kind and patient with Darby even tho we were having troubles getting her on the leash. Once she finally got her on, Darby let her pick her up and I watched as Stephanie clipped her nails and Darby was so calm with her. She even gave Darby a little freshener because she had released her anal glands from fear in the beginning. She was also very careful not to click too far down on her nails. Highly recommend the grooming department here. They're wonderful. read more

The manager has contacted me after posting the review. She sent me with 2 chinchillas and a cat to the veterinarian at their expense. After 2 weeks of treatments the ringworm is gone. While I am not happy about getting the disease, the store manager did her best at damage control. 2 stars won back for that. read more

I enjoy taking my dog Blondie to Petco and I have ever since I adopted from the Gila County Animal Shelter in Payson, AZ on 4 April 2017. Blondie and the groomers build a bond with each other. The Staff at your Payson location were upset to see Blondie and I return to CA. I always go here to buy my dogs food but it's always crowded and the aisles are disorganized. The line is pretty long too whenever I've gone. I most recently went to get my daughter a lizard and there weren't very many to choose from. I found that disappointing. I figured I'd get her a hamster instead so I did. She loved the hamster and it was very cheap. However he died a month later. I've heard this has happened to a few of her friends as well. read more

This store recently underwent a beautiful remodel. It's inviting, clean, and spacious. The staff is friendly and professional. Great selection of pet products with affordable prices. I love this store!!! FYI: Every weekend, this store host Veto Clinic which provides super affordable vaccinations, micro-chipping and dog license service. They took great care of my puppy without breaking the bank and also provided referrals for her spay service. This is the best pet store in Temecula! read more
