My dog loves coming here for his grooming appointments. He doesn't have a favorite stylist, because he loves all of them. They're quick and efficient with their grooming and I love how over the moon they are with my dog. I have 1 dog, 2 cats and 2 bunnies so I'm here frequently to buy essentials and they always have what I need. I like using their subscription service for recurring deliveries and one off deliveries whenever I'm in a bind. Convenient for busy schedules. At this particular location, I don't get good cell service so I stopped doing the curbside pick up because it just wasn't working out. Otherwise, customer service is always so friendly and helpful. They're usually knowledgable whenever I ask questions about my pets and what the best products are for my pet's individual needs. read more

DOG OWNERS -- PLEASE READ Today I took my dog to Petco for a full grooming appointment -- de-shedding, bath, haircut, ear cleaning... the works. I was told it would take about 3 hours. Three hours later, I called to check on her... and that's when I got the call no pet owner ever wants to hear. They told me the groomer had accidentally cut the end of her tail. No prior call! No warning! No transparency! They said they took her to the in-store vet -- but when I rushed over, my dog's tail was fully bandaged and no one could tell me what actually happened. No details. No explanation of how severe it was. No report from the vet. Nothing. As a dog mom, I was absolutely sick to my stomach and beyond upset. You trust people to care for your pet, and instead you're left with injuries and zero communication. This is NOT okay! If you love your dog, please DO NOT ever go to Petco next to Promenade. Ask questions. Advocate for your pet. And don't assume they'll tell you everything if something goes wrong. These are my two Labs, Brother and Sister (Ruby and Jackson), 3 and 4 years old. They look a little stressed at the moment, always are after grooming (home or salon). They'd rather be swimming in the ocean or lake lol. I want to give a 5 star shout out to Temecula Petco grooming. They are Amazing! From the cost, to the care, to the groom, simply amazing!!! Jackson has a slight issue with other dogs, and we are working with him, but they listened to me, and worked with me about the issue. Well, this is a darn fun place to visit with my little doggie. I'm always looking for places we can go to have fun together. This store supplies Just Food For Dogs. It's one of many places but it's good to know they do, as that's our little guys diet. There's a huge amount of food choices though, if I ever decide to switch. On top of food selections for pets of all kinds, they carry leashes and collars. I'm still looking for a particular kind of halter though, of which cannot be found there. Kind of a bummer. While I'm not fond of seeing small birds and other sweet pets in cages, people want them. so, I guess it makes sense to offer them. I do love looking at the, birds, lizards, snakes. hamsters, etc. I can't lie. Oh! And they have fish! Fish and tanks for them. More fun to look at. I'm a sucker for dog and cat toys. Naturally, our little dog is too. If we go there, he of course comes home with at least one and maybe a chew as well. Because I get toys for him, I naturally pick out one for our two cats! Oh boy... what can you do? This place is clean and the cashiers are friendly. So why not 5 stars, instead of 4? Well, I'm not sure this is fair either and I might wind up changing it, but my dog, when he was a puppy, caught kennel cough there. He hadn't been anywhere else to get it. His vet told me that's a real problem with PetCo and PetSmart, because people like to take their dogs there. Sooo... what might PetCo do about that? Boy, I don't know. Wipe down their shopping carts? Like I said, in fairness, I might need to change my review to 5 stars. Thinking it over. Lastly, I LOVE that they offer cat adoptions. Most especially of older cats. Lastly, lastly... this review does not include grooming. I've never used one of their groomers, so cannot speak to that. Against my better judgment, i took my 10 month old sheepadoodle here for a wash on Wednesday. Today is Saturday and she has had NON STOP diarrhea. When i called to ask if they fead her any treats, she said no, but kept her in a crate for OVER AN HOUR while drying because they were busy with other dogs. Self dog wash tubs were dirty w/pet hair. Baskets w/pet brushes & scrubber were also full of pet hair from previous dogs. Apparently they don't clean up after people are done bathing their dogs. The groomers name is Isabel. She almost didn't cut anything on his body (She just cut the muzzle and the eye area. Around his eyes looks red, his nails is cut too short and it's bleeding.) His private part is burning and it's red. It's irritated. (She might've used a clipper.) His middle muzzle isn't cut evenly and now the middle muzzle area has no hair!! I can see his skin. I gave her sample pictures so she knows how I like it done with my dog. She didn't seem to look at the sample pictures!! She did an incomplete cut and made him ugly looking. I wish before destroying my dogs hair, she would tell us she can't cut !! In my opinion, she is not a professional (groomer) she doesn't know how to cut a dog's hair!! If my dog doesn't like clipper sounds why didn't she try to cut with scissors like other groomer do? She just cut a little on the body hair and almost looks the same and she charged FULL price? This hair cut I could have done my self!! He was cute before and now he has an ugly hair cut... Even my family said shocking to see my dog because his body exactly the same before hair cut and muzzle and bangs too short made ugly!! This hair cut Not worth it!! Also I would never comeback for my dog's hair cut bc just destroyed my dogs look. *I don't recommend Isabel. I want money back for this ugly incomplete hair cut!! My poor dog!!! I hope manager reads this!! If you hire a groomer you need make sure they can cut completely. Excellent! Got An appointment the next day. No waiting when we got there took our Lab in immediately. Very dog friendly competent staff, Dr. diagnosed the problem immediately. Took him back right away, and brought him out happy and taken care of. Dr was also the only vet (as we've been to a few), that suggested an allergy shot. Our dog has been struggling with allergies for a couple of years and none of the vets took it seriously to suggest medication or a shot. Went over the bill, which was reasonable and off we went with medication, all in less than an hour. He's doing great, and also not itchy. I highly recommend the Temecula Petco. read more

I came here often for my Pomeranian. I love Petco! They have everything for your pets. I loved coming here for clothes and toys for my fur baby. I've visited the grooming area for my Pomeranian as well. They did a really good job cutting her thick frizzy fur lol Sometimes she would get feisty when getting haircuts, but she would be okay in their hands. The store is clean and all the animals are cared for. The associates are pretty nice. They would always say hi to my Pomeranian and offer her a treat at the cash register. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. I came here to get my cat vaccinated after she turned 1 and got absolutely scammed. Waited 1 hour longer than I was supposed to get the shots and spent $279 for a "vaccine package". My cat got vaccinated I guess but didn't get to see it because they did it in the back (every other clinic Id been to before the shots were administered in front of me). Afterward I was about to schedule my feline leukemia booster shot and was told VERBALLY TOLD by a technician named Sergio that the next visit would be completely covered as it was part of the package. I schedule the appointment on the phone with a customer call representative and I asked again if my visit was already covered and again they said it was covered as long as the vet didn't have to review a new issue. I arrive to my appointment 4 weeks later fully thinking that my visit would be covered and a woman with an iPad comes and tells me that it would be another $113 with a new cost for a visit just for them to literally see my cat. She showed me that the package did not include the booster shot. But the original feline leukemia vaccine doesn't even work for a year without the booster. Why would you have a vaccine package without including the booster??? And not just forgetting to tell me that it costs money but stating that it was free. When I told her I got told by multiple people from the company that the second visit would be covered by my last charge the woman technician just began blaming the call center saying that they give wrong information. I drove all the way across Temecula to just get scammed again by Vetco and now I need to find another place to get my cat her booster vaccine before it isn't valid after the 4 weeks. I am very disappointed and upset. The service here is very unprofessional and they give false information here. This hospital is only for people who have the money to get scammed. read more

Alright, let me make this abundantly clear, I've DoorDashed here TONS of times without issue. Until today. First and foremost I know the process so I go verify the product is already picked and that it's the correct items, CHECK! I confirmed all Items through my app. Okay so now I'll just go check in with a staff member really quickly and get a cart so I can get out of their hair cause I know they have better things to do and most the time they're extremely nice. That switched up on me today. I knew right away I was in for a treat when I had what I would call a stereotypical "Karen" BARK at me when I asked about handling this. I was like dang Karen, I thought we had the dogs locked up in here. New policy? But I digress. I just brushed it off and smiled as she walked to the mobile order area while I got the cart. So I'm moving and grooving getting back to where I need to be and when I get there she's messing with the in store phone thing ya know fiddling with it like your grandma does and getting mad at it for a lil bit. Okay, whatever it's cool I'm a patient person. Let me reiterate, I verified the correct products and I knew that they really aren't required to check the items out as long as I confirm them (which I did, and have done every time without any issue with any of the other amazing staff members) so tell me why she snaps at me "DID YOU ALREADY CONFIRM THE PRODUCT?!" "Yes Karen, I also verified the product as well..." then she gives me a hostile attitude again and HUCKS the stuff into the cart all angry. I laughed it off and was kinda surprised cause of the whole interaction but also cause this lady literally THREW a full medium/big bag of dog food. I mean it's not crazy heavy but the lady caught me off guard by yeeting it because of some petty frustration. Most of the time this place is nice, but I guess anything can happen. Terrible customer service. I purchased 4 private dog training services. I used 2 and have been attempting to book my third and fourth for 2 weeks now. The first 2 sessions I honestly didn't feel like my problems were addressed. I wanted to teach my dog to walk loose leash and was recommended a head harness instead of having him work with the dog to teach him not to pull. Getting a hold of the trainer for the remaining sessions was a nightmare. I left my phone number on 3 separate occasions for them to call me back before he actually did. When I finally got ahold of him we booked a session for this last Sunday. I was told only after arriving that my session got cancelled by the trainer even though I got a confirmation email hours before. Apparently, they tried to call me but they called a previous number which I had told them to update on 3 separate occasions prior to this session (including on the same day we booked it). I spoke to a manager and this manager is the only reason this Petco is receiving an additional star. She waived part of my purchase and was apologetic of the situation, and informed me that the only person that can update the phone number on file is the trainer - which he didn't even though I reminded him the day we chatted. I got a call from the trainer to inform me that they would process my refund for the unused sessions but that I would have to go back to the store to obtain it. That was the ONLY information that was given. I arrive to the store today with my two toddlers (which is already a stressful to bring them places). I was told they couldn't process my refund with my license which I accidentally didn't have on me today. I showed them a picture of it and they said that it wasn't valid. Why wasn't I told on the call to bring a form of identification to process a refund? Poor communication all around from all my experiences. Now I'm about to make a THIRD trip to the store for the same situation with the same license that was shown to them in the picture. Ridiculous. Have empathy of a person and everything they have already been through with you guys and the face that I'm navigating this situation with two small children I'm trying to control while at your store. read more

The grooming department is always a pleasant experience at this location. They have always provided my pups with wonderful service. Most recently, Kaylie was his groomer starting from the check in, she greeted my pup Romeo by petting him and giving him love, put the leash around him and because he is so tiny, she carried him off to get him ready to be groomed. This beginning is so important, because it let's me know how properly and humanely they will treat him while he's getting getting his little spa treatment. Every groomer at Temecula Petco has done this, always had a great experience and my pups enjoy their spa treatments. Kaylie gave my Romeo a handsome lion cut, and I requested his mane to be cut back shorter than usual. Kaylie did the cut perfectly and wanted to make sure I liked it so she said when I pick him up she can trim more of it to my liking, but I loved what she already did. Check out was a breeze and they do it at the same spot when you pick your pup up. I have provided pictures of all my pups that have had their grooming done at this wonderful Temecula Petco location. Seeing as customer service is literally y'all's job, just do better. Grooming service is horrible. First time I'm taking my puppy to get a bath and nail trim, as I was waiting - I was reading their signs and decided to ask how long my puppy would be in a kennel for. He said longer than two hours. Ummmm if your dog has any type of anxiety that's a red flag. - explained it's for them to get dry and to give them time to setup bath. Still really odd to me that they would be in a kennel for over two hours. My dog was shaved to the skin without my knowledge or permission, and he left bleeding and scratching. I had paid extra for the anti-itch treatment they said was miraculous. the shave was attributed to matting, as is always the excuse for shaving, but I would have chosen not to have any haircut if I had known they were going to denude him. horrible! read more

Today my dog was refused service because she has once in her life had a low grade seizure. Petco refused to give her a bath and cut her hair. We have been going to Petco for over 10 years and this has never even been brought up once. My dog doesn't have a health condition or issue and is not on any medication. She is extremely healthy and I even had my vet tell me they can provide a note that states my dog has absolutely NO health conditions, but they STILL refused us. How shameful! The customer service was also poor. I spoke to many "managers" and even the District manager and they brushed me off. After reading some disturbing things online about these managers from employees it unfortunately checks out. I will not be back, I will continue to speak my mind. SIDE NOTE: IM SO HAPPY THEY DID BECAUSE WE DISCOVERED PETSMART!!! OMG I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GO TO PETSMART. ITS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER! Wayyyy cheaper, customer service is night and day. Stacy took Bumblebee and Laserbeak out of their cages so me and my sister could see them. I am so tired if buying fish there and introducing it to my stable setup. Petco's fish may look fine, but they could have dormant disease that can kill all your fish. This has happened on more than one occasion, the latest being with the disease "ich". Of course, they will take the fish back and provide a refund if purchased in the past 30 days, but they wont help you with all your time, energy, money, and fish replacement if they introduced a disease into your aquarium. I also have a problem with their Vital Care program. The fish staff kept selling trying to sell me on it and kept saying "it's for a year and it's only ten bucks but they give you $5 in credit each month plus a credit right away and this and that." So I figured it was worth $10/yr. After checking my membership info afterwards, I noticed I was duped. It's $10/month. I contacted the vital care department and told them what happened and to cancel it immediately, but they won't fix the issue and will only send me blanket emails. read more

Brought in my Pomeranian for a fox cut on 11/20 with Debbie. I dropped him off a little early and stayed in the Temecula area for four hours. After those four hours I came back to pick him up and saw he was just being taken out to get his haircut! FOUR HOURS to take a bath?? My aunt and I watched him and he stayed very still, minus when the groomer went to his ears, but otherwise was very good. Another 45 minutes passed and when I got him back he looked TERRIBLE. His fur was shaved almost to the skin, very choppy shaves. No rounding his paws, no nail buffing or trimming, she didn't even round his ears! All she did was choppily shave him and called it a day. When I brought him back home he started licking his crotch and I found out they used dull blades that irritated his skin! The only thing they did right was give me a full refund and not touch his tail. His first time getting professionally groomed and he's been lethargic ever since. DO NOT GO HERE, or at least not with Debbie. If you're reading this and you are running behind or whatever, TELL ME. Don't just start chopping up my dog to get him out of there, I almost paid $100! I made an appointment with the grooming department for our pet dog who is getting on in the years and is almost totally blind plus unable to hear very well and made that known to the groomer. I explained how short I wanted his haircut and i was somewhat happy with the outcome but his nails were not clipped and still left way too long! I was very upset when told at my initial appointment that they couldn't groom our dog because I gave him medicine that their Petco Veterinarian prescribed and I paid for and was advised to give him before his grooming appointment so he wouldn't be too anxious; so I had to re-book for another day!
