Worst experience ever!!!! I made an appointment with the grooming department for our pet dog who is getting on in the years and is almost totally blind plus unable to hear very well and made that known to the groomer. I explained how short I wanted his haircut and i was somewhat happy with the outcome but his nails were not clipped and still left way too long! I was very upset when told at my initial appointment that they couldn't groom our dog because I gave him medicine that their Petco Veterinarian prescribed and I paid for and was advised to give him before his grooming appointment so he wouldn't be too anxious; so I had to re-book for another day! I was not very happy with the service and lack of communication I received. I won't subject my aging pet dog to Petco again!!! read more

Garbage. Called them at 4:30 pm. Asked when they close the self wash. Was told 6 pm by the lady on the phone. I ask when the last wash is let in. She says it doesn't matter as long as you're done by 6. I drive 20 minutes there and arrive at 5:20 pm. I'm told they already closed the self wash. I said both the "tub hours" sign and the lady on the phone say you close at 6. The guy behind the counter says yes, but they stop letting people in at 5. I tell them what the lady on the phone told me. He says "well you must have spoken to someone on the floor and not the groomers because they don't really know how we work". Then maybe y'all should communicate between the two apparently separate entities to make sure you don't give people incorrect information? Hard to believe that level of management isn't possible at a franchise as large as Petco. read more

We have been taking our dogs here to get groomed over the past several years, and this is what my review rating is focused on. Yes, we have also purchased a few items, on rare occasions, over those years, but not to the point of accurately critiquing that aspect. Every time we have procured their grooming services we have been more than satisfied, regardless of which services we have performed. The ladies have all been very amicable. Our last visit was just a couple days ago. Isn't it thought provoking how the governor of this State, via executive orders with his all powerful stroke of the pen deems dog grooming as essential (which it is), but NOT haircuts for human beings (which it is)? The worst petco. I had paid $100 for Vetco package to update my 2 year old dog's vaccinations, he only needed bordatella but also needed a heart worm test for trifexis. I told them I would order trifexis at a a later date and they declined my online order. What was the point of selling me on this package if they planned on declining the prescription order. They never answer the phone at this location and now my dog does not have meds and I am out $100. Also, don't ever think a grooming appointment will get your dog back quicker. This place sucks. My pooch and I love PETCO. The staff is always friendly, patient and kind. Ms Audrey is the best groomer that my dog has ever had. They know your dog by name and not just by their breed. I would highly recommend PETCO in Temecula if you're in the area you won't regret the service. I forgot to mention that the staff is very knowledgeable on products for all pets. I had a 10am appointment for my dog to get a bath and his nails trimmed. When I arrived I was told they could not bathe him or clip his nails because he had matting under his chin which needs to be shaved by a Vet. What the heck? I drove all the way there and was just turned away. The fact that they can't even get out matting is absurd. They are groomers! Will never be back. read more

I had some issues with my dog after taking him to the vetco clinic, but they did not do what they were supposed to do but scammed me for more money. My dog was supposed to get an allergy shot, which they did not give him and my dog was worss after i took him there, they did not take care of the problem and only cared to do other testing he didnt need because he just got tested for the same issue and i spent nearly $700! These people at the Vetco Clinic are so hard on money they suck you dry! Do not go there! Im telling you! You will be scammed no doubt! I am an unhappy customer and they did not do right by my sweet Frenchie. His allergy has gotten so bad! they claim they gave him the cytapoint shot but i don't believe it one bit! because it did not work this time, but it worked every other time? seems fishy to me! how do i know they really gave him a shot? they took my dog in the back which there was no proof of them giving him a shot, so i asked to see the video of what they did and so thats when i asked to talk to someone in charge. So basically i needed the manager Stacy look into the problem, she promised she would take care of it but never heard from her, i had to call her a week later to get an update. did not hear from her again, so me and my sister ( my witness) decided to go talk to her in person, when i got there she totally blew me off and ignored me and hella embarrassed me and my sister and son in front of the customers. she started raising her voice and told us to leave. can you believe she called the cops? and we did not do anything , we just wanted to talk to her and settle the issue. I've been going to this Petco since I got my dog in March and it was a good experience until today. I've done puppy training with Nick and he's awesome! I also have the vital care plan and the "Vetco" there is also nice, the staff is helpful. However the grooming department is a different story. The grooming staff is rude every time I've been there, except for maybe 2 people. I decided to go to the grooming area today to do self grooming and it was terrible. It was so gross inside, there was dog hair everywhere. The tubs themselves looked like they weren't cleaned the entire day, it was literally clogged with dog hair. They give you baskets with products and grooming tools (two dirty brushes) and yes every single basket had dirty brushes. The "products" that they provide are watered down shampoo and conditioner. They had like 10 baskets and only one of them had shampoo and conditioner bottles that were filled, the rest were empty. There were no clean towels I had to wait 8 minutes and ask someone from the FRONT to bring me towels because the grooming staff did not help. The towels were "clean" but had dog hair all over them I had to shake them 3 times to get some of the hair off. When I tried to ask the grooming staff for help with the hot water they were rude and the sinks barely had any hot or warm water, it was pretty much cold the entire 10 minutes I was rinsing him. Overall it was very dirty and I don't recommend it, $20 is an INSANE price considering the entire area was raggedy and filthy. Don't bother with their grooming services. Horrible service. Booked an appointment a week in advance, show up and the pea sized peanut brained woke teenager said " I forgot to call you and let you know that we need to reschedule". In the summer they rescheduled my dog's appointment 3 times, groomer called out, AC broken on and on. The experience has been horrendous. Tired of wasting my day and time with this stores grooming department. Have customer service offer a discount, or something for inconveniencing your customers on a regular occurrence. Stop hiring teenagers that can't understand basic common communication skills of running a business. Petco grooming department gets the middle finger. read more

Update: The grooming incident happened 01/06/17. Never had any idea that our fur baby sustained bad razor burn (skin abrasion) under both front legs (kinda armpit part). My daughter just found this out late Saturday when she picked him up to hug him. This clearly explained why he cries in his sleep and everytime we pick him up and accidentally touch that sensitive area. Brought him to his Vet and sure enough, his left leg which has the worse burn was a bit swollen. Please think a hundred times before taking your fur babies to PETCO Temecula (Winchester Rd) grooming. Not only am I happy with how she is groomed every time, but also how well she is taken care of, Rhay always does an amazing job on her and always trims her fur the in the teddy bear / puppy cut that we prefer on her. This is only my second visit and have been disappointed both times . I thought I would try because I'm retired and grooming is expensive. I want to be able to have my Pup bathed in between grooming. Why does it take 4 HOURS to give a 4 POUND PUPPY a bath. I don't get it. This isn't a damn spa it's PETCO you come here because it's the cheap alternative. I'm paying $21 for you to take 4 hours giving my dog a bath, it makes no sense. You make an appointment at a scheduled time for a basic bath with nail clipping and I don't understand how to takes so long. My puppy doesn't have long hair, she only needed basic grooming & then I'm told it takes so long because the groomers are taking care of other dogs at the same time ? Why don't they finish one appointment before they start another? And they take their breaks during your dogs appointment. Go ahead take a break before or after but why am I dropping off my dog with you and then you go take a lunch in the middle of the appointment. I make an appointment for my dog with a groomer and I expect my dog to be taken care of and not just left in a kennel. Yes there are " quick appointments " or whatever they call it but to me you should take your dog to a groomer and then your dog gets groomed and you pick them up. But still their quick appointments take long as well. I decided to schedule a groom here because it was closer and cheaper but I'm going back to the farther place that takes 30 minutes with ALL of the same results. ( and uses better quality products) DO NOT COME HERE. We've had as many as four large dogs, three cats, a hamster and fish all at the same time. Petco has been great for us. We buy large bags of dog food every two weeks. Cat food, toys, feeding bowls, beds, etc. We had one diva dog, Rusty, that needed the grooming services. He was gorgeous when he was done. The employees are always helpful and friendly. We've also been known to adopt and foster a dog or two on adoption Saturdays. I only wish I could save them all. To sum it up, we love Petco!!! read more

This is for PetCo I general and not a specific store. Buyers beware, online set up delivery is not what's advertised. I set up dog food to be delivered every 2 weeks, but it's actually 2 weeks and 3-5 days added. As pet owners you need know what you need and the time frames. As I spoke to customer service or lack of , they informed me that the delivery had been delayed. Now I have to spend more money and go out and buy dog food. They already took my money for food that is delayed and not here. Also, informed them customer service to cancel this services and they tell me to go onto the app and do it. WTH... I informed them this is custom service why couldn't they do it! I will never again use this service. Don't fall for the up front savings it's a scam. read more

On the day of the appointment they canceled 30 minutes before because one of their groomers could not come in. We are from San Marcos, but this location is by far more clean, put together and well run than either of the locations by our house (one of which smells HORRIBLE every time - the Pet Coach in San Marcos). Our pups had a great time in the store, and were greeted by various employees (and manager) . The manager (Charlie) was super nice and helpful in finding things. Do not buy your freshwater fish here unless you want disease to wipe out your tank. Whether it is Petco's tanks or their breeders, somewhere in their supply chain they have let disease run amuck with no signs of stopping. I got into this hobby 4 years ago and made this my go-to place for fish. I am finally exiting the hobby after spending thousands on equipment, meds, and fish due to Petco's inability to provide disease-free fish. I have experienced various diseases in many of their fish over the years, but the worst of all is their guppies. Every time I start to build a population thru my own in-house breeding or from friendly hobbyists, I have made the mistake of going into Petco at some point and buying some of theirs. Within days, the fish I bought are hovering and dying and soon they are all dead along with whatever guppy population I built of my own. Full wipeout. In the first year or two, I never went in for a refund due to these being $2 fish. When prices went up, I started 'saving the dead' in my freezer (my wife loved that) because they require that plus a sample of your water before giving you a refund. I took a year off during Covid and had not one death in my tank. I went back in and figured they must be better now, but it starts all over again. I then took another year off until a few weeks ago and yet here again my entire population is dying. It is a fun hobby, but knowing there is really nowhere to go to get fish in this town that are disease-free, I am finally throwing in the towel. Most of them share the same breeders BTW. I have endured too much stress in what was supposed to be a fun hobby and my kids have witnessed too much death for me to want to go any further. read more

Love it here! I come here all the time with my dog and they always are so kind to me and her! They also help me out with fish all the time and are so helpful! Hannah is always so helpful and cheerful and it's just such a pleasure to talk to her every time I go! She even helps me find items online to be able to get them at a better price! Katie is also very nice and helpful and gives me lots of helpful advice on my fish! There's also a nice gentleman that helps me with my cichlid too but I was never able to catch his name, I believe he is the fish staff head or leader? I just had the worst customer service by the GM manager at the Tenecula Petco. I am a purchaser of just food for dogs for my pets. I spend approximately $275 on dog food every six weeks. So you good say I spend quite a bit of money on dog food for my pets. Well one my dog is now allergic to one of the flavors. Today I went in to exchange for another flavor. The GM then told the associate she would not be able to exchange since it was purchased over 30 days ago and could not make an exception. I guess she would like me yo take my business elsewhere. I would give it a big fat zero if I could! I waited 6 hours to get my Maltese and Doxie done! The Maltese needed a hair cut, a bath, and nails trimmed. The Doxie need a bath and his nails trimmed. Our appointment was at 1:30pm. I was told by Sierra they would be done at 5:30. At 5:30 pm we went back to pick them up and we were told Sierra went to lunch. I asked if I could pick them up anyway and DEBBIE said they were not done, AFTER 4 HOURS......are you kidding me! VERY DISORGANIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
