This review is just for the grooming salon at this location. They are scammers and will upcharge and try to get away with it by giving some BS reason as to why the charge is different than the original booking. I would highly suggest you AVOID unless you want to pay more than you should and/or argue with them about charges each time. And it looks like from reading the reviews on here, a lot of people have had terrible experiences with the grooming salon as well. I have been taking my dog here for 5 years now and will not be taking her back. For about 4 years, I didn't have too many issues, until last year. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not anymore. I always book a bath & brush and add on the deluxe package because I like for them to grind her nails down instead of just trim them. Last year, I booked the same appointment and when she was finished, I was given an invoice with a different service type and add on as well as a $10 off coupon and was told that it would come out to the same price as the bath & brush + deluxe package. I thought it was weird but didn't make a big deal out of it, even though it ended up being about $5 more than it should have been had they just kept my appointment as is with no coupon. The next time, I booked just a bath & brush because I had my dog's boarding facility trim her nails just before I came to the salon so I didn't need it. They ended up charging me for the deluxe add on as well and unfortunately, my husband went to pick up the dog and paid and didn't know about the upcharge for a package we did not book. When I brought it to his attention, he spoke to the workers at the salon, and they agreed to put a note in the system that we would not be charged for the deluxe package for our next grooming appointment. The time after that, I took my dog in for just a walk-in nail grind and specifically came during the day for their yappy hour because I knew it would be discounted. None of the workers knew what pricing was for yappy hour and were asking around and each other. They ended up giving me a certain % off and since I was in a rush, I just paid. Later that evening, I noticed that my dog's nails were cut straight across (which is how they are with a nail trim) instead of rounded (which is how they are with a nail grind). It reminded me to look up the pricing for yappy hour and I realized that I should have received $3 off the service price instead of the % they gave me. Not too big of a difference dollar wise, but it is about the principle here. I paid more than I should have, and for a service that I requested but didn't receive! I am partly to blame for not checking her nails and knowing my facts upon pick up. The last and final straw was the most recent appointment. I booked a bath & brush + deluxe package. During the appointment, the appointment type went from bath & brush + deluxe at $75 to bath & brush + deluxe + brush fee (15 min) at $85. When she was done, the invoice stated bath & TRIM + essential package at $89. My husband asked why the appointment type always changes every time we come and was given some baloney reason that the groomer changes it in the system when they take it on (whatever that means) and that it "comes out to the same price". Not sure how $75 = $89 or why we were charged for a bath & trim + essential package when we booked a bath & brush + deluxe package. My dog has never gotten her hair trimmed or cut in her life so again, being charged for a service that we did not receive. They did honor the deluxe package discount mentioned above from the previous time which took off some from the total amount, but the total amount still would have been lower had they just charged for the service we booked for. All that to say, I don't know what kind of operation they are running but they must be doing the same to other customers and getting away with it, which is why they continue to do it. I know I will not be coming back and you should not give them your business either. read more

**Review for the 9/14 Adoption Event** PetSmart on Madison Ave collaborates with local shelters to provide opportunities to meet and greet fully vetted (vaccinated, fixed, dewormed, etc) pets ready for adoption. I attended the 9/14 event for a kitten and loved how the Let Them Be Little Feline Rescue (LTBLF Rescue) provided an enclosure so you could take a kitten or cat inside to interact with them. There was two other shelter organizations and I truly enjoyed seeing all of these cats being well cared for. Although I did not adopt a cat that day, I expressed interest in fostering kittens with LTBLF Rescue and was matched with two beautiful Siamese babies within the week. Loved attending the adoption event at this PetSmart and wanted to share my positive experience here! We called to schedule a grooming appointment for our little maltipoo with Jose since he was the one who saw him last and did a fantastic job and our little guy was happy. About 3 hours later my husband got a call stating they had to take him to the vet because they noticed that he was pawing his eye a lot. We thought it was a little weird but didn't think much of it. My husband then went to pick him up and he is now on TWO eye drops medication and an oral medication. My husband went to talk to the groomers and turned out that someone named Hannah was the one that groomed our dog, why? We have no idea. The person that was there did not know what had happened. This is beyond RIDICULOUS and we are furious!! 1. If we scheduled our dog to be groomed by a specific person why is someone else touching him? And the fact that we did not get 1 call asking if it was ok for someone else to groom him is beyond me... 2. They never called to apologize or take accountability for what they had done or even bothered to wait for us to explain the situation I know accidents happen & I am well aware especially since I work in the medical field with humans BUT the fact that there was NO communication or any accountability taken was the reason why I am on here writing this. This is not ok. Just look at his little eye. When I saw him come home I just wanted to cry. These dogs are our babies and they need to be treated as such! While the grooming itself was okay, the staff made unsolicited comments about my dog's collar, pushing for a harness instead of a prong collar. This was unnecessary, unprofessional, and completely unrelated to the grooming service. If I wanted advice about training tools, I'd consult a qualified trainer or vet not a grooming staff. Customer service is POOR. When you walk in they act as if you are disturbing them. Then you bring your dog in at 5pm for a 5:15 and they act as though they can't take the dog and crate him until the service. I left the appointment it's hard waiting around with the dog to keep them safe from other dogs etc. be happy the consumer is timely crate the dog the 15 min and proceed with the service. They have done this to me twice in the last two months and he never had a bath because we're waiting as opposed to simply taking him and begin the service when you choose. read more

The woman manager here is horrible! I wish I knew her name. She's in her 50-60s, and says she's been working here for years. Not that that matters, but if anyone from PetSmart is reading this review, maybe they can pinpoint who exactly it is. Anyway, she has such a chip on her shoulder. We took our cat for grooming services. When we went to pick her up, they didn't say anything was wrong. After we got home and got her after the crate, she was covered in blood. We immediately called the store and were told it's not her blood, but groomers. We cleaned her out and didn't see any additional blood. However her behavior changed immediately. She went from loving, affectionate cat, to hiding from us, not eating, not playing. Three days later she started limping and "crying". Wanted to pick up 2 guppys for my kids, I pressed the button for service the aquatics (fish section), and the associate sees me and states be right there.. So I said OK, while still looking at the guppys I wanted to purchase, I glanced at the same girl.. Red hair name was Krystal... Continues to wrap a palet, get in the forklift and picks up the palet and continue to work. An older lady working came over and states " you still haven't been helped and I said no... During this whole incident I was estimate 15 mins have gone by and I just said forget and stated this is bad bad service... Took my Border Collie tp Petsmart on Friday and Patty was so nice and seemed very knowledgeable about grooming her, she did an amazing job! The only critisism I may have is that there was so much dog hair all over the floors so maybe work on clenaing up after each grooming. read more

We adopted a puppy last year and this was our first time adopting, so it was exciting for us... She had just been spayed, vaccinated, de-wormed and health-checked at the shelter, so we were told. This puppy came to us with the WORST tapeworm problem I have EVER seen and I have owned dogs all my life, always since they were young puppies, so I KNOW puppies have worms, but never like this!! We reached out and let the woman, J-u-d -y, (adoption agency) know the worms were BAD and she told us she would give us tablets for the puppy, but she never did. I also asked if our newly adopted puppy has kennel cough because she couldn't stop coughing and she was lethargic... We were told her coughing was from being spayed... WHAT?!? I was worried because we also have two little senior dogs (14yo, 15 yo) and I did not know if they could handle getting the virus... WELL, they ALL got sick and it was THREE weeks of fevers, coughing and diarrhea with all my dogs. Sleepless nights from the kennel cough virus that was lied about to me, NASTY worms that we had to pay out of pocket TWICE to finally clear the new puppy of... We absolutely love our newest pack member and no regret adopting her, but it was a terrible experience that I never want repeated! ALSO: This store is ridiculously UNDERSTAFFED and it is so cruel that the store manager will leave ONE SINGLE cashier to take care of all the checking out... read more

Went in for my first intermediate dog training class (ready I had already finished the beginner class with a different instructor) Eileen .T informed me That I could not use my pincher training collar in their class that I had used previously. I would've went and bought a different collar to continue my training with no problem. But with the Karen attitude and bitchiness in her voice, there was no way I was going to spend money in that store or start my training. The store gave me a full refund and I was on my way. I took my dog Chase in for the 2nd time yesterday. The first time he was washed and dried and nails were ground. It was very busy environment... I told the girl that checked him in to put a Muzzle on him especially for his nail trimming. (He is a German Shepherd and he is awesome and friendly until nail trim time or anyone getting close to his male unit.) Well i got a call that he was VERY agressive and my first question when I arrived was did you muzzle him... and they did not. They charged me $51 for the bath and did not do the most important thing. They were very nice ... but young and they disregarded my request for him to be muzzled for the nail grinding. I would 100% not use them in the future... they seemed to like working on the little dogs more and if she would have just said they don't like using a muzzle it would have saved my 1/2 a day of time... $51 for a washing(which he is always good with... sometimes he doesn't dig the dryers) ... they did credit off the bill the Nail grind cost since they didn't do it. WHEN AN OOWNER TAKES A DO TO A PROFESSIONAL GROOMER AND INSTRUCTS TO USE A MUZZLE... 1.) Use the muzzle. 2.) Do not F around and do it without a muzzle as you put yourself at risk of finding out. 3.) Say we don't use muzzles and aren't able to do the job. It will save stress on the animal and the owner when they get a call that the dog went after them in the process. Luckily he didn't bite any of them. I paid the $51 spoke with 2 people and it was like they did not care... so if your dog needs a muzzle for grooming this is not the place to go! read more

cashier at the front today was so rude when trying to make a return. I had no receipt since I did not get one at a different location, and I have no account since I usually shop at petco.. I get not having the receipt is annoying but I have proof of purchase on my card. I just needed to make a quick exchange I'm not sure why it was so difficult to use my card and see the transaction? The manager was helpful and just advised to do the exchange, no big deal. However, cashier at the front seemed annoyed to be helping me and sounded like she was sighing in my face.. I definitely look/am young, but that doesn't mean you can be rude! I work in customer service myself, I have never acted like that towards someone with no receipt lol. After being reluctant to do training classes through a retail store, we noticed they were holding a promotion for training evaluations and decided to look into it. We got in contact with Eileen T who has been the biggest blessing to us in our new lifestyle with our rescued dog. We've gone through three training courses all with her and my dog continues to excel in her learning and most of all behavioral issues!! Eileen helped us to understand how to read dog body language and how to create a positive environment around training to make the dog want to listen to us. An hour and a half before our confirmed grooming appointment for our 2 dogs, we received a call saying they weren't eligible for the quick wash appointment that had been made several days earlier because they had not been bathed there before. We were told a higher price would apply. They just lost 2 new customers and we won't be recommending them to our dog owner friends. It's very unprofessional to do a change up like that at the last minute and it was not mentioned on the website that new dogs were not eligible for this special rate. Frequently, after standing in line, customers give up & leave what they wanted to purchase laying on the floor or on bags of dog food. Frequently, the staff appear to be RUDE to customers, even handicapped customers. Especially the store manager & the blonde woman connected with pet adoptions! She Yelled at me!
