I scheduled a grooming appointment well in advance and clearly communicated my drop-off and pick-up timing. When I arrived, I was told the information I had been given earlier was "incorrect," and that the staff would be leaving early due to other commitments, even though their website indicates they are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Instead of offering a solution, I was told I could cancel the appointment and take my dog or pay extra for someone to bring my dog to me, which felt inappropriate given the circumstances. First let me say we have been coming here for a couple of years and we are very pleased the care we get for our little dog. The staff are wonderful especially Mattie. However, it saddens me you felt you had to raise your prices , $75 dollars for a 10 pound dog, makes feel like I am been gouge add tip and that is real close to $100dollars out of pocket. read more

This place used to be good for years and then new management seems to have taken a good thing and ruined it. My Mother was in a car accident on the way to the groomer with the dog in the car. They called my Mom harassed and yelled at her until she was in tears about payment even after learning she was in a serious car accident on the way there (just 1 block away from Grubby Dogs) which totaled the car and she had sustained injuries . Never once asked about if our dog was ok or even alive. Just continued to threaten with collections. The lack of understanding and empathy is bad for any business and shows they don't care about their customers only the money. No long term relationship thinking. I will never take our dog here again knowing they didn't even care to ask if he was ok. read more

Update; Been back a few times since my last review and still love this place! I usually get my pomsky's haircut short (I know it's bad but her fur grows back just fine and she loves being cooler in the hotter months) but I love how everytime the groomers do give a warning. They really care about the quality of their work and love each dog as their own. Stella (the chubby pomsky pictured) loves coming here as well and is so happy to greet everyone when we walk in! read more

We were using Grubby Dogs for years because of Sara, our dog's favorite Groomer there. Last time we brought Joey in, things had changed and not for the better. The lady behind the counter came up, scooped our dog up and put him on a scale. I turned around and said " why are you doing that?"And she responded. "you pay by weight". I am not buying tomatoes. Joe is a mini Aussie and the price has always been the same. I think any changes in policy and especially in price should be told to the client who has an appointment before hand. I felt that this owner was rude and started looking for a new groomer. I was very sad to leave Sara, but I found her!! She is at FeFe's pet salon just down the street in the shopping center at Murrieta, Hot Springs and Margarita. I've been going to it for a long time several years and my dog is always looks amazing when she leaves however, today when I picked her up the price increased and when I ask about it, they said that it will continue to go up and until they reach the point that they have for her weight. The new groomer she has has been very sweet and she's really fast and good but the whole vibe of the store is not something I think I'm gonna stay with. Prices are so high it's ridiculous and now they wanted re weigh my dog because of course that's how they charge even more now. She was 102 which makes her giant the biggest breed by 2 pounds so they can increase it even more! She is old and barely will go on long walks now. Every single thing is an add on. Been going here for 8 years and loved everything! Over the past 6 months or so we have had two visits that did not go well. The first visit they cut one od my dogs with clippers in his "armpit" area and took him to the vet next door to get treated with skin glue. I'm glad they took him to be evaluated, but during that time I never received a call to notify me of what happened. I would absolutely have been ok with ny dog being seen, but it would have been nice to know before picking him up that he got injured. We tried to give a second chance because we loved them so much in the past. This time we got the text that the dogs were ready. I get there and only one was finished. I was not told this until after I paid. They said my other dog "messed herself" so they needed to "rewash" her back end. I brought my other dog home and went back again. When they called to tell me she was almost ready, I was told they were doing her nails and would be done in 10 minutes. Why were they doing her nails if this was just a rehash? Or did they forget about her and when they realized told me she "messed" herself. A rewash shouldn't require nails, they should have been done. Overall, they've gone down hill a lot. I honestly don't trust them with my dogs anymore and that's the reason for the one star. read more

New ownership is alarming! Do not take your dogs here. Specially if they are labradoodles .. As soon as I got in the door the MANAGER greeted me with all kinds of fear factors like my dog was possibly going to be bruised from shaving etc etc.. this is what she said ... would most likely happen ... (yea if you don't know what you are doing). I thought to myself. My dog would get this - A hematoma is a localized collection of blood outside of blood vessels, typically caused by trauma, surgery, or bleeding disorders. It's a bruise that can range from a small, localized collection to a larger, more significant one).. this is what she said could happen and in 12 years nobody ever told me this at a groomers. I left not happy and very disappointed I been coming here for over 10 years. I miss the previews owner she was super professional and kind ! Greeted me with nothing but confidence and love..but this other lady is horrible with her attitude and customer skills. The receptionist was good and effective but their manager was no good. So many Business don't realize how important customer service is. They also don't take the time to train their staff. Staff is supposed to be professional enough to reassure customer / clients that their beloved pets are in great hands. Tone is important but what they relate to the client is even more important - when I never heard this from any other groomer for over 12 years yea you better believe I felt I was in the wrong place I didn't feel safe there. Often times bad Staff ..speak from ego not from greatness.. This affects all business.. The owner needs to be aware of this if he wants to stay in business and be successful.
