We recently moved from San Diego to Temecula, and let me tell you, even if I lived there, I would still drive all the way up here to get her nails trimmed. She is a very anxious dog in general for grooming and nail trims. And I haven't been able to find the right place until I came here. The staff was so professional, and most importantly, very kind. I will never take my dog back to this place, ever. My wife had our dog serviced/groomed today and when they got home, my dog was bleeding everywhere, her shirt, the passenger seat, and car console were smothered with blood. My problem with this is they didn't bother to tell my wife that they cut a little too much of my dog's toenail. If you're a professional grooming place, why would you not disclose something like this to your customer? Why would you try to hide it? Our overall experience with AGS has been very good. Appointments on time, skillful handling of our pet at drop off and pick up, and great haircuts and grooming. I always choose the "professional" graduates instead of student groomers. Sometimes they have forgotten to trim nails or have claimed an add-on for matting. Lola is a sweetheart and loves people. However on one occasion with a student, she was returned to me very agitated. There was a note that she was too hard to handle and the student needed extra help with her which they wanted me to pay for. So strange. Totally out of character. Took my best friend in to get groomed before we left on vacation, so the family that was taking care of him would not to brush him etc. Well while we were gone on our trip my guy had a major ear infection in both ears, he was taken to the Vet. after a bill we'll over$200. which $40.00 was for getting the hair out of ears. The Vet. stated to be sure the groomer pulls the hair and keeps his ears dry. Which was not done. Vet stated that due to not being groomed correctly he got the ear infection. I call the office and was told nothing was stated on my guys record. There must have been a miss communication. That they would get back with me. Did not happen. Went down gave them the bill was told the owner would call. Did not happen again. Check your dog over, check their ears. Be for warned. read more

Updated review: Because they (AGS) did such a good job with my previous dog Foxy and cat Latte, I decided to come back to AGS when I got a new dog Sollie (sadly Foxy passed away) even though I had moved out of Temecula. I felt the staff, including the owner Angela, were so great to worth with previously that it would be worth the drive to return. The first few groomings were so wonderful, by a young lady named Des. Absolutely the best grooming work I could ever want. Unfortunately Des wasn't available on my Sollie's session on 4/23. Instead a lady named Cristina groomed her. Sidetrack a little, as Sollie is a poodle mix, she requires regular brushing and combing, which she gets often in between grooming sessions. I care very much for my dog and don't want her to get matted as I know that can be painful for a dog. So the next part of what happened and what prompted this review made no sense to me. Shortly after I dropped off my dog, I got a call from Cristina stating my dog was severely matted. There is absolutely no way as I brush Sollie on the regular. However, I called her back and agreed to allow her hair to be shaved down a tad more than I had initially wanted as Sollie's comfort was more important than my being right. Cristina stated it would be about half the length Sollie's hair initially was. When I picked Sollie up, I was in shock. Her hair was shaved down to almost the skin. Plus her head had barely been touched. So my dog had a shaved body and big furry head which looked awful. When I asked her why her brow line looked so squared, she had another groomer cut it in front of me where it looked worse. I just had to get out of there and I broke down and cried in the car because Sollie looked so bad. I know, dog hair isn't worth crying over, but that's what I do when I am so at a lost for words worth of upset and anger. One would say, why would I return to AGS after such a negative experience. I would reply because for the most part, they do lovely work and I really like the owner, Angela, because of how well her team normally performed. I don't want to give up on AGS because of one person's poor performance. Cut to today 5/21/22. I dropped off Sollie, fortunately Angela was the one to check in Sollie. I explained to her how unhappy I was with her previous grooming and showed her the wonky cut on her head. Angela agreed the hair on Sollie's head didn't look right. As always, Angela was lovely to work with. When I went to pick up Sollie, unfortunately Cristina was the one I had to check out with. Now, I will say, I wasn't 100% positive that she was the one who had groomed Sollie in my last visit. I had almost blacked out and saw red at the time, so her face didn't stick with me. During the course of conversation of checking out, I mentioned how I felt Sollie's last cut was the worst she'd ever had. Cristina proceeded to respond "I did her grooming". I reiterated how much I didn't like it and that I felt the "matting" she claimed was exaggerated. She started to try and justify herself and I wasn't interested. I stated, "let's just agree to disagree as I will never agree that she needed to be shaved like she was". I wasn't interested in arguing as she wasn't going to see my point and i definitely was never going to agree with hers. Instead of just dropping it, she insisted on stating her case which I wasn't interested in. It was more important to her to try to justify her poor performance than simply moving on. She was very argumentative, when I kept saying I'll never agree with you, she jumped in with "why do you have to be so angry". First of all, I wasn't angry, I simply wanted to end the conversation, get my dog and leave. She is the one who kept going on and on about it. I said I wasn't angry and her response was "your face is". So rude! I did ask for her name, which she refused to provide so I took her photo. Then I went into the AGS website and that's how I found her name. I wanted her name so I could make sure in future appointments I could request she never groom my dog. Sadly, this experience prompts me to lower my rating by a star. I still believe AGS is a great place to have your pets groomed at, I'll just be sure to make sure everyone I have referred there avoid Cristina. read more

This is my second time having my 5 month old shitzu groomed at this place. My first time experience was great since they were able to take us the very same day. BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT OUR SECOND TIME. They were able to take us the very same day as well, GREAT. Even though I was willing to take my puppy the next day. Got the puppy package & my pup was there for about 4-5 hours, but I was very understanding and patient, since they were able to take as the same day. Picked my puppy up only for my mom to hear that she (our puppy) was put in the bathroom waiting for that she was "not trained to be put in a kennel and was biting the kennel and tried to bite other dogs". I think I know my puppy better than anyone else, she has been exposed to plenty of dogs and she did not bite a single one of them. Also, why would you put more than one dog in a small kennel? So they just stored her in the bathroom, sure maybe they were busy, I still tried to understand. But as soon as I got home & placed my puppy down her paw started to bleed. I checked out where it came from and how she got it, but her nail was trimmed so short that it started to bleed as she put pressure. Sorry, but I am not coming back here. read more

Giving one star is generous! I took my miniature schnauzer here to be groomed last week. Dropped him off at 12:30 with a promised time of 3:30-4:00. I called at 3:45 and was told he had just been washed and wouldn't be done until 5:00 I was told by one person they had to send the groomer home sick that was assigned to him. Apparently they don't communicate to each other because the next person I talked to ( same phone call) said he hadn't been put on the board and she didn't know why Hmmm! It appeared he got lost in the shuffle and then rushed through?!?! I had to get someone else to pick him up who stated he was still damp and didn't smell clean. He was chopped up, his face was shaved extremely close and had one short eyebrow and one very long one! He looked ridiculous. Called spoke to Angela and was told to bring him back. When I picked him up the second time I couldn't believe he looked worse not better. She shaved his head He looks like a bald old man. I only asked her to smooth him out a little and fix his eyebrows. I was very nice the first time but this was too much! I left there trying very hard not to cry at how he looked. Never have I had a groomer do such a terrible job. Please beware if you take your dog here. I never will again. Hoping he grows out soon!! read more

She's not only shaved, SHE CAN'T WALK OR STAND! She's completely delirious! My poor Bonnie was there for 6 and a half hours, and when Picked her up she looked like this! They butchered her! Not only that she can't even stand properly to eat her food! I have no idea what they did to her, but her leg is completely out of place. I don't know if they dropped her or she fell, but this is horrible!! She was supposed to be groomed by a professional. Look what they did to my poor girl! I will be seeking legal action against this establishment. Please what ever you do, DON'T take your dog here! read more

I know I have reviewed American Grooming Services "AMS" on my FB page for friends, but I think I need to really share on Yelp, the type of wonderful service here at AMS. I have a Rotti and Duchess is our baby, she LOVES going to AMS in fact she has her own little yellow rubber ducky that she has had since she was a puppy and this goes with her everywhere-- every car trip, walk, visit, play date.... To every visit to AMS and this dog is a love- but her favorite thing? She loves bath time and getting her paws massaged, between the pads, at the joints this dog is spoiled! This is important Because- Before we knew about AMS, there was another place we had taken her in the IE. we had no idea how rough they were with her, that she was traumatized, she didn't let anyone touch her paws, cut her nails, in fact her hips were sore, she couldn't go up and down the stairs let alone hop down from our car to come into the house after the session at this other place and refused to go on walks. So bubble baths with her ducky were at home only. When we found AMS, we took Duchess in with her ducky, explained about the other place and we just were not really sure how she would do. They said no worries, if she gets upset we will call you, no need to force it. AMS let her keep her ducky, at first her paws were a topic of concern for the first few spa visits--she was so skittish, but its been over a year now and she loves going to AMS, she gets the special spa packages they offer, her coat is beautiful, her nails are clipped with minimal issue and her hips don't hurt anymore. The team here at AMS is thoughtful, loving, caring and they take pride in the services they provide, after all these are our furry babies we are trusting them with. I have even brought Ms Punkin in (Turkish angora) and "high maintenance diva all -together" here. They only do cats on certain days.... but I will only bring my long hair kitties here to get her summer lions cut- no issues at all. Prices are so reasonable and the fact that my pets LIKE coming here because they are treated well speaks volumes to this animal loving family. I will included two photos of Duchess our love, 1 is with her bandana and the other she is waiting for her spa visit, you can see how shiney and pretty her coat is. Thanks AMS! read more
