We recently completed a 3-week board and train program with Manny at Off Leash K9, and we couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. From day one, Manny showed incredible patience and dedication--not just to our dog, but to us as owners. Our girl got a little homesick at the beginning, and Manny truly went above and beyond to help her adjust. He made her homemade food, and even personally picked her up and dropped her off for a few days to ease the transition. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he trains and treats them like his own. At pickup, Manny spent over two hours with us, making sure we understood the training, answered all our questions, and helped us feel confident continuing the work at home. He also offers refresher sessions, which we really appreciate--and we absolutely plan to keep working with him. We're so excited to have our dog home with us and, more importantly, to have the tools and training to take her places and help her succeed around distractions. Thank you, Manny!

I can't express the gratitude I have for OFF LEASH and trainer Manny. We adopted a 14 month Husky from a shelter got him home and he turned out to be very possessive and aggressive and had bitten my husband, both of my sons and myself. We were 1 day from returning Timber to the shelter where I was told he would be euthanized due to his bites. We picked him up from Manny a few days ago and all I can say was WOW!! A total transformation. We will be sending another fur baby in the near future! THANK YOU OFF LEASH & MANNY YOU MOST DEFINITELY SAVED TIMBERS LIFE.

Manny truly saved me and Hank's quality of life. Hank just lost his best friend to cancer and was struggling with grief. He was also trying to adjust to giant move from the Bay Area to SD. He was being attacked by so many dogs due to his size that he was becoming reactive. His reactive behaviors were becoming more and more difficult for me to anticipate and control. He was afraid of every dog and person. After I injured my shoulder from Hank lunging at a dog while I held onto his leash I knew I needed help. I really knew that Hank needed me to get help for us. Manny came HIGHLY recommended by many of my friends in our Bernese Mountain Dog Club. Hank went off to boot camp for three weeks. When I picked him up - Manny taught me how to be more confident and clear with Hank. Hank was more confident and knew the expectations. I had so much tension built up in my body from all the stress that when I finally brought Hank home and saw how much we could trust each other- I felt so much better! It was all because of Manny and his training! Manny knows how to build confidence in you and his expertise is out of this world. Hank goes regularly for boarding when I need to be out of town. Hank loses his mind with excitement when it's time to go see Manny. I cannot thank Manny enough. Hank and I can go to public places and enjoy our time! I still go for refreshers and he even allows me to reach out to him if I have concerns or questions even after his three week training. Manny sent me videos and photos every day! It wa so great to get updates on how Hank was doing. It eased all my anxiety! Nathalie took all the information and she really helped me through the process. She was even there for me when we lost Nana to cancer. She was so patient with me when I needed to reschedule etc. and she helped me when Hank needed to go in immediately due to escalating behavior after Nana died. Thank you OFF LEASH K9!

2 week board program with Gabija black lab 5 months old t
Xoaura I.

Our trainer was Gabija for our 5 month old black lab. Our lab spent 2 weeks with Gabija working on command goals and confidence. Our lab was jumping on the table grabbing food, taking the kids toys, was super shy to potty on walks, and jumping on people excitedly, even strangers on walks. All in all, she learned all the basic commands using an e-collar and we've only had her back for 2 days but we've seen a huge improvement in her behavior and confidence to potty on walks. We've hardly had to use the e-collar because after she hears the command she complies. During the 2 weeks Gabija sent us a daily report of how our lab was going, what she was exposed to and learning, along with videos and photos which we looked forward to as a family. She was really great with our dog and she has learned a lot of what was advertised. We recommended Gabija to our friends already! Cons: cost of 2 week program is expensive and the drive to drop off the dog and pick her up were time consuming, and hour and a half one way. For the price should have to option to meet at a local park where the customer/dog owner lives. Plan for pick to potentially be close to 5 hours... driving round trip 3 hours plus 2 hour training to go over the commands. Wish the customer would have options for the drop off/pick up considering the program cost.

Danielle Adams was AMAZING. I loved working with her. She was patient and understand of me and my issues with my dog. She showed genuine interest in our life and that she wanted to help. She was professional and friendly. She helped me through all the steps during pickup and how to continue his journey to a better more confident life. I am so incredibly thankful. It's been life changing. She helped me gain confidence as well. I hope to never need her again, but would absolutely choose her over and over. Cannot say enough great things.

We had an incredible experience with Off Leash K9 training! Our 10-month-old Goldendoodle, Tiffany, stayed with the trainer Alex for two weeks, and the transformation has been amazing. It's like we got a completely new dog! Tiffany is now much more obedient, follows commands easily, barks much less, and is overall gentler and calmer. Alex maintained excellent communication throughout the entire process, keeping us updated with Tiffany's progress, and even sending photos and videos. On the day we picked up Tiffany, Alex took a time with quality to explain the entire process to us, providing clear guidance on how to continue the training and use the commands at home. We are beyond happy and grateful. Alex, you were phenomenal!

At first I think most people don't want or know how to be consistent and hold their dog accountable. We don't know what that means. I didn't I've never had a trained dog. I never had too, but honestly it was the best money Ive ever spent. You guys taught me what my dog breed needs. When I finally understood that, (thanks for your patience with me) I've learned so much from you guys. I learned how to holding her accountable and be consistent. Thank you all so much!! All you Tom, Natalie, Gabija, Manny and McKenna, thank you all for everything you've done to help us. Kiley is a loved member of our family. She has turned are world up side down but we love it! I honestly wouldn't be where I'm at without you! You're the best!! Love you guys thanks again!!

We booked a 3 week reactive dog boarding with Manny for our Pomeranian-Husky Forest. We had problems with him being a little reactive to some people and dogs when going to public places or had visitors/visiting family. We noticed he would get overwhelmed when so much activity was happening and had a harder time staying calm. We also struggled with recall with him. Manny was very communicative when it came to answering all our questions and concerns prior to boarding and the use of e-collar. He was also telling us what he would work with him when dropping off and gave us clear instructions after pick-up! Throughout boarding he gave us updates of how Forest was doing. I have attached a small snippet of how Forest now heels during walks! He would always pull me and never walk beside me. We are very happy with the work Manny has done and the confidence he has given Forest while he was him! Even after boarding Manny has stayed responsive with answering additional training questions! He made sure we were comfortable before taking Forest home with the training and how to use the ecollar. Thank you Manny!

Practicing off leash sit at a distance in public places!

Having our 1 year old Vizsla work with Elaine for Off Leash K9 Training was really the best thing we could do for her! She had so much energy and we didn't fully know how to direct it and teach her more than just the basics. Elaine was able to build confidence in our dog as well as in us as her owners. She now is a fully off leash dog who loves to "work" and has the ability to place, touch, heel, go through, sit and down at a distance and sit and down while in motion. Truly wonderful. We did the 3 week board and train program and I would recommend it and Elaine as at trainer to anyone.

I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience with Manny at Off Leash K-9 Training. I was pretty defeated and felt completely hopeless by the time I found Manny. I had just met with another trainer a month or so prior that told me I should put my pitbull down, to say I was devastated was an under statement. I decided I'd get a second opinion and if the next trainer told me he's a lost cause then maybe I should accept the fact that he's a hazard and a liability to not only my family but others as well. I told Manny our 7 year old Pitbulls entire history as well as what the other trainer told us and he was all in on training him. He was willing to chat with me almost immediately and his confidence, knowledge and energy made me feel so comfortable. I knew after our first chat that he was the guy for our pup. Our pitbull has a history of being reactive towards other dogs, had lunged at children on bikes and had been in a couple attacks both initiated by him and not and so I was sure what to expect when I sent him off for the 3 week training. Manny went above and beyond and kept us updated either through text or by phone call the entire time. I received a call about 5-7 days in and he told me our dog had redirected which meant he was in such a heightened state of anxiety that he redirected his energy to Manny and at the point I said "do you need me to come get him" and Manny assured me that he can help our dog work through whatever it is that is making him react in such a way. I almost cried because someone finally gave me hope that our dog could get the help he truly needed. Now we walk our dog out in public around dogs, people and children in high traffic areas and he's so calm and focus on us. It's like he's a whole new dog. Manny helped him find his confidence and since then we've been keeping up with the exposure and training. It's been almost a month now and our dog seems so much more comfortable in his own skin and he's always smiling and happy. I cannot recommend Manny from off leash training more!! I have told so many about how amazing our experience has been and will continue to do so. The transformation we've experienced with our dog is out of this world. You will not regret your decision if you choose to go with Manny or Off Leash K9 Training in general. Their trainers are highly trained and skilled at what they do.

Chantel's three-week training with our 8 month old Doberman, Drogo, was exceptional. Her dedication and love for her work have brought out the best in Drogo, for which we're deeply grateful. He's maintained all the training, showing remarkable obedience, especially on walks and with close-range commands. We're working on reinforcing his training, particularly his distance stability, and appreciate Chantel's efforts in this transformative journey. We admire Chantel's ability to connect deeply with our pup and the heartfelt commitment to their training and well-being. 21 days is a long separation period from our best friend. We missed our dog dearly and were eager to follow along daily with Drogo's progress in the form of daily updates, photos and videos. The frequency and quality of these updates did not meet our expectations so we are deducting a 0.5 star and recommend more frequent photo and video updates during the training period. But hey, nobody's perfect We highly recommend Chantel for her outstanding skills and dedication.

I have a one year old Husky. He is loving, loyal and smart. But he's a Husky! very willful. Not a bad dog but hard to train and get him to mind me. I felt overwhelmed and started to question if he was too much for me to handle. I thought about getting professional help. Off Leash K9 Training was highly acclaimed with an excellent reputation but at a substantial cost. I initially spoke with Nathalie who explained the program and her recommendation. I decided to make the investment in my sweet Herbie! I was paired with my trainer, Pam who not only lived close but also had two Huskies of her own. I signed up for the 2 week board and train. It would be the longest I waa separated from my dog since I got him at 8 weeks. Pam was wonderful! We communicated well before I was to drop him off. After I turned him over to her care, she kept me updated daily with his progress and photos and videos. I was reunited with Herbie yesterday. After a debrief with Nathalie and Pam, I was comfortable with the commands and the instructions to maintain his training. I am blown away by his transformation! I was so proud of how perfect he was on our first couple of walks; how responsive he was to the commands and how calm he was to distractions that would have sent him into bad behavior just two weeks ago. Thank you Pam and Nathalie and Off Leash K9 Training! We can't thank you enough for the wonderful transformation! --Drew & Herbie

Title: Exceptional Transformation Thanks to Chantel Chavez I can't express enough how thankful I am for the remarkable work Chantel Chavez did with my 1.5-year-old pitbull. My dog had become increasingly reactive and overprotective after a traumatic experience as a puppy, making it challenging to take him to public places or have him around other dogs, especially off-leash. His leash-pulling habits were also driving me up the wall. But, after 21 days at Chantel's boot camp, our lives have changed dramatically for the better Chantel took on the challenge with determination and expertise, and the results speak for themselves. It's been two months since we ended training, and he has gone from a dog that could barely contain his excitement and reactivity to one that keeps his attention on me with a steady focus (and excitement). One of the most incredible aspects of Chantel's training was how she addressed my dog's reactivity. She clearly understands the nuances of dog behavior and implemented strategies that worked wonders for my pup. The transformation in his demeanor is truly astounding. I can now confidently take him to public places, even when other dogs are around, without fearing any aggressive reactions. This was something I could only dream of before Chantel's help. Additionally, his leash-pulling habits, which had become a real headache for me, are now a thing of the past. Chantel worked diligently on his leash manners, and it's a night-and-day difference. Walking my dog has gone from being a tugging battle to a pleasant and enjoyable experience. I can't thank her enough for that. What truly sets Chantel apart is her genuine love and dedication to her work. My dog adored her, and that's a testament to the wonderful relationship she built with him during his time at the boot camp. Her passion for dogs and her ability to connect with them is apparent, and it made all the difference in the world. Since bringing my dog home from the boot camp, we have continued to implement the training Chantel provided, and the positive changes have endured. I am now able to enjoy outdoor playtime with him off-leash every-day, a luxury I thought was out of reach just a few months ago. In summary, I can't recommend Chantel Chavez enough. Her expertise, commitment, and love for dogs have transformed my once-reactive and overprotective pitbull into a calm and well-behaved companion. Chantel's training methods truly work, and I'm so grateful for the positive impact she has had on our lives. If you're seeking a dog trainer who can work wonders, look no further than Chantel. She's a true professional who genuinely cares about the well-being of your furry family member.

Waylon tuckered out on the ride home from all the amazing training!

Breaking my ankle recently escalated the problems. I could see the need for assistance in the near future. Began searching for obtaining a mobility service dog. Only a few agencies in Calif. train dogs for this disability and their wait list for starting the program was upwards of 4 years. I was planning to use my 2 yr old Black Lab. Since I had "hit dead-ends" in my search, I decided to at least look for some obedience training for the dog. After interviewing several trainers in my area, I found Erin to be my choice. I met with her to discuss the training and discovered that she had experience in training mobility service dogs! She was a bit hesitant to commit to the training and wanted to evaluate my dog to see if she had the right temperament...it seemed that she did! I signed up for the 3 week board and train program, with the understanding that basic obedience was would be addressed as well as introducing some service dog training to see how the dog performed. My dog seemed to be a good candidate for becoming a mobility service dog. We have continued with the training taking part in classes, private sessions, and another 2 week board and train session. Don't Believe the False Facebook Posts - Epic Dog Academy Is the Real Deal…read more I need to share my experience because there's a lot of misinformation going around about Epic Dog Academy. If you've seen those Facebook posts linking them to animal abuse - please, don't believe them. I fell for those rumors myself at first, and I want to make sure no one else makes the same mistake. I had signed my dog, Obi-Wan, up for the two-week training program and was so excited. But right after I told a friend, she sent me a Facebook group filled with terrible claims about EDA. I panicked and immediately called to cancel. Vincent, the owner, was incredibly understanding and patient. He explained that all those claims were false and even showed me proof - including records exposing the people behind the posts as having serious legal and credibility issues, but even though I already paid and signed all the paperwork - he still immediately refunded me my payment to give me time to do additional research. This is something he could have pushed back on but didn't, which really showed me what a kind and understanding business this was. Even so, I made sure to do my own research before forming any opinions. What I found was truly alarming: the main individual behind that Facebook group has a documented history of serious issues, including animal cruelty charges (all public record). His daughter once briefly worked with Vince - the owner of Epic Dog Academy - many years ago at a completely separate business. Shortly after, Vince left to establish Epic Dog Academy with his wife, Olivia. To be clear, the two individuals who now run that Facebook group have no real connection to Epic Dog Academy. The false claims they're spreading about the owner are completely unfounded and unsupported by any evidence, plus most of the negative comments appear to come from people associated with them. Once I realized the truth, I re-enrolled Obi-Wan - this time in their day training program. I drop him off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. It gave me total peace of mind to see him daily, and I can confidently say that not only is he perfectly fine - he's thriving. The results have been beyond my expectations. Obi-Wan listens better than ever, he's happier, and he actually gets excited to go every morning. Erin, his trainer, is absolutely phenomenal. She's patient, knowledgeable, and keeps me updated every day with photos and progress reports through their app. Christy at the front desk is another gem - her warmth and understanding make every drop-off and pick-up a breeze. Every single person I've interacted with at Epic Dog Academy truly loves what they do, and it shows. They treat every dog like their own. I can say with complete confidence that my dog is safe, happy, and receiving the best possible training here. Please do yourself a favor - don't let false online rumors stop you from giving EDA a chance. Check things out for yourself. I'm so glad I did, because Epic Dog Academy has completely transformed my dog's behavior and confidence. It's been worth every single penny (and I signed up for the Honor program!) I have given EDA permission to share my number with anyone who is hesitant to sign up. I'd be happy to share my experience with you if needed. -- Pictures of Obi-Wan were sent to me through the EDA app during his day training!

My journey in training Emmy for my second Mobility Service Dog began when she was eight weeks old. She arrived from a breeder who places 40-50% of their puppies into Service Dog roles, and prior to seeking ADI, I had training support from multiple sources including my experience from working with my first Mobility Service Dog. From the very beginning with Emmy, I wanted to achieve the ADI standard and acquire certification for international travel. But finding an ADI where I felt supported and nurtured in my goals and training style proved to be more difficult than I could have ever imagined. Initially, Emmy and I joined another ADI program that ultimately proved to be out of alignment with our goals and training style. In spite of that disappointment, I did not give up my dream of achieving ADI, and in time, discovered Canine Support Teams' program. I was forthcoming about our previous ADI experience and commitment to a 100% reward-based training style. I was excited to meet them, but privately, I was still finding it difficult to trust another organization with our energy, money, and time. Thankfully, I quickly realized during our first meeting that the people at CST is what makes their program so very special. From the initial conversation with me and formal temperament test they performed with Emmy, to our base-line PAT at the local pet supply, their sincere kindness was apparent, and I felt my tension and uncertainty ease into the knowing that I had found a safe place to grow with my dog. On entry to the program, I received a structured, yet personalized, six-month training plan. I greatly appreciated the formality and structure, because unlike our first ADI experience, Canine Support Teams' professionalism was apparent in every aspect of their behavior and program. We were paired with Genevieve as our lead trainer, and throughout our program, I was continually impressed by Genevieve's mindfulness and care to maintain a safe space for Emmy and me to continue to grow. The compassion, thoughtfulness, and talent with which she approached our sessions really blew me away. Her kindness and understanding of my specific task needs for Emmy as well as her commitment to a reward-based training style with Emmy made me feel super supported. In short, we felt not only seen and heard, but respected and honored. We also had the opportunity to work with two other CST trainers: Helena and Da'Von each brought something magical to our success. During our program, we had multiple opportunities to work around other teams with various disabilities, working roles, and training styles as well as dogs of multiple different breeds and experience levels. With everyone's help, Emmy and I exceeded our goals. Today, we are such a polished team - and I very much enjoy the experience of being out with Emmy doing our thing with the confidence that comes from being supported by a solid program that is committed to sincere and mindful communication and guidance.

My partner and I found the Canine Support Team though the Assistance Dogs International (ADI) program after doing research into what working with an 'ADI certified trainer' actually entailed, and didn't regret our experiences at all. I had full confidence in the training they provided for me and see the changes that it has made on my day to day life. They really do hold every dog to a higher standard. They are honest about whether a dog actually has the temperament and focus for full-time work. It isn't a participation only environment, effort is needed and at times, for us, it definitely felt like a full time job to train. Our trainer, Genevieve E., was a fantastic listener, incredibly talented, and super accommodating in our experience. She helped us navigate the training 'lows' with personalized coaching that never felt like a generalized script. You can tell she is genuinely dedicated to her craft and always growing her own skills. She gave us so much confidence, especially during frustrating lows, and guided us through our training highs! The Training Director, Shara B., went above and beyond from our first meeting, even providing extra lessons and her Puppy Raising 101 manual to help us understand the effect between training, our behaviors, and dogs' behaviors. She consistently shows up and the way was constantly adapting the program to provide better training, hands on lessons, and outside class experiences shows that. If you want a team that is patient, cares about the bond you have with your dog, and the quality of training. I would recommend the Canine Support Team!

My Chinese Crested, Hooper, had previous training but was still struggling with reactivity and socialization. I appreciated that Farren didn't push an expensive board and train--she assessed Hooper personally and offered private sessions that fit my budget. After just one session, I already saw progress. Over five sessions, both Hooper and I were trained--because we all know training the human is just as important! A month later, I adopted another dog, Bodie, and brought both pups to Farren's daycare to continue Hooper's socialization. We also did additional public training sessions, which were incredibly helpful. Hooper is now more confident and manageable! Farren has also been working directly with Bodie, helping him learn basic obedience and improve his behavior--especially with things like staying safely in the car instead of bolting into the street. His progress has been amazing. Farren is not just a great trainer, but also understands dog behavior on a deeper level. Her facility is clean, organized, and I fully trust leaving my dogs in her care. I highly recommend Board N Behave for training, daycare, and/or boarding!
