I cannot say enough good things about Venturing Pack Dog Services. I am crazy about my fur babies and I drive ALL the way from Pasadena to Menifee when I need daycare for my babies. I love that this is a home based day care that has more than enough space for the pups to run. Kathryn, her brother, and her husband are EXCEPTIONAL. I first used them when I went to Thailand for 2 weeks and again when I went to Hawaii for a week. The pups had not been there in a year and KNEW where they were going and were ecstatic when we turned into their street. My golden has a lot of health issues and her medication regime has never an issue. My malamute mix has anxiety and can sometimes mount, and again never an issue. He's also not very trusting so the fact that he is happy is so reassuring. I LOVE that Kathryn will send me videos and pictures of my babies next to her human baby coexisting. It really is family owned. I rather make the 1-2hr drive and take them here than go anywhere else. Kathryn at Venturing Pack Dog Services was a God send! She literally saved my father's dog Hunter from going to a shelter. My father had medical issues and could no longer care for Hunter, and Kathryn not only boarded Hunter for 2 months, but she facilitated finding an adopting family. Hunter's new forever family lives in Maryland, so Kathryn arranged for cross-country transport for Hunter, in addition to taking him to the Vet to get all of his medical clearances for adoption. We have a 6 month old golden retriever who is the best and we made last minute plans for a vacations but we're concerned about what to do with Penny. We reached out and Kathryn was immediately responsive, helpful and on top of everything. We opted for the 2 week board and train, with an emphasis on some key skills we her hoping she could work on while she had her. I got probably 10 videos and 20 picture a day of Penny in various environments: the car, the yard, playing with other dogs, training in unenclosed areas and areas with distractions and even pool days. They treated her so well and were so grateful to get to use them for all of our future training and boarding needs. Btw the first day we were home with her and the kids left the gate open while I was mowing the front yard, she ran out and played in the grass. And I had always had so much trouble coaxing her inside, I used some of the tips they gave us in working with Penny and she following me straight back to the yard, I'm confident they eventually she'll just stay near me and not wander. I had an emergency and had to leave town with little notice so it is very stressful and overwhelming to find a place last minute, that is affordable, and that I could trust to take care of my fur babies. I am so glad I found Venturing Pack Dog Services. I was in a time crunch so I appreciated their responsiveness. They even helped pick up my babies even thought I was located in Orange County. I get very wary some because one of my dogs can be a bit aggressive and my other one is terrified of everything so I know they could be hard to manage but Kathryn and her husband Ray informed me on their process on introducing the dogs to make it a safe and comfortable environment for my dogs as well as the other dogs there. SAFETY ALWAYS CAME FIRST!!! I loved the fact that it was an open area for the dogs to run around and play with one another. I felt relieved to find someone who loved and cared for dogs as much and they did. When I came to pick up my babies she gave me some nice tips for my girls to help with their aggression and anxiety. I enrolled my younger dog into her training program to help with her anxiety, socialization, and few tricks I couldn't teach her myself. She goes about once every three weeks (due to the drive), occasionally every two weeks as Kathryn helps pick her up sometimes!! My baby new the basic one but she improved on her "walking next to me" so she stopped tugging the rope. She is a lot quicker on her basic commands- sit, lay, jump, bark, spin, and high 5! P.S. I know when you pull up to her daycare it doesn't look like your typical dog daycare. It is a house daycare for your dogs. Kathryn has her own pack that she has to protect and she will evaluate your dogs before accepting overnight boarding. It is a relief knowing someone who knows how to actually take care of dogs and honestly her evaluations are fair. I wouldn't want a biting dog around my dogs either so I really do trust her judgment. I found this dog boarding when my usual spot was unexpectedly full, and what a wonderful bit of luck! Kathryn (and her team, Ray and Kevin) treated my dog like she was one of her own.
