We learned about Cool Dog Ranch from my husbands co worker. We had a planned vacation coming up and were kind of scared to bring our puppy to a boarding place for a few days since we have never done that before with our past fur babies. Denise welcomed us as soon as I pulled up to park. I left my puppy for a few hours to play so she can evaluate his temperament with other dogs. Once I came back to pick him up, he looked so happy as if he didn't want to leave! We've taken him there twice now for boarding and I can honestly say that I feel very comfortable leaving our pup there! Denise updated daily on how our pup was doing and sent us some awesome photos and videos of him with his new friends! We love leaving our dog Nala here for boarding. Last time I picked her up she seemed annoyed with me and wanted to stay, lol. The staff always does a great job in caring for her and giving me updates while we're away. My husband and I were looking for a clean and responsible place to board our 1 year old cocker spaniel when we came across cool dog ranch. This place is located in the wine country in an actual home (which was refreshing to see after taking our dog to another place that looked like a warehouse). At cool dog ranch my dog was socialized and taken care of. When she came back from daycare as well as boarding - she was well behaved and hasn't lost weight during the stay. They also send updates and pictures during the stay - which I like! I love that my dog wags her tail and is excited to see the owner, Denise, when we drop her off. My dog used to pee and try to get away from other places we took her to. Prices are reasonable compared to other in the area. We will definitely book another stay. read more

We had to attend an out of town funeral and had to board our 5 month old Dexter. I will admit, I was a nervous wreck leaving my "baby" for the first time. We felt very comfortable with Denise and her staff, but we weren't sure how Dexter would do with so many other dogs all at once. The first night was rough (for me) but the next day when I received the photos of Dex having a ball with the other dogs, I knew everything was going to be just fine! He was there for 3 days and we received pics and videos everyday, sometimes two times a day. When we picked him up he was happy and healthy and had a great report from Denise. Denise and her staff are fantastic and her facilities are beautiful and immaculate. Really happy that we found Cool Dog Ranch! Our previous boarding facility in Escondido, which unfortunately closed down in 2020, had kind of spoiled my husband and I (and our dog!) regarding what to expect out of a boarding/day care facility. We basically had some biiiig shoes to fill, and searched for a long time to try to find a boarding facility that was high quality in terms of safety, responsiveness, cleanliness, and ensuring small playgroups. Had no luck for a long time - it's actually crazy how many other daycare/boarding places are either unresponsive to new clients, or just consist of big yard with 100 dogs running around (might work for some dogs but it definitely doesn't work for my stress-ball of a dog). When we finally found Cool Dog Ranch, it was such a relief. Denise was very responsive and pleasant, and we were able to get both our dogs in for daycare to give it a test run to see how they'd do. Our older dog is very socially selective and our younger puppy had never been to daycare before, so we were a little worried about their first time. Denise sent updates and photos/videos throughout the day and both dogs looked totally stress free and seemed to settle in nicely with their small & well behaved playgroup. We did our first overnight recently, and that went smoothly as well. We requested to see where the dogs would be sleeping and while we weren't able to go inside where the beds would be set up, we did get photos of the area as well as our dogs in their kennels. Our vet recommended Cool Dog Ranch for basic obedience training for our pup,Beau. We had a great experience with the 6 week class and our pup came away from the training much more controllable and fun to be around. Cathy was great training us on how to approach our pup and techniques to corral all that energy in positive ways! We have since started Beau in daycare a few days a week and that has been an amazing experience. Truly a five star experience boarding my two Frenchies at Cool Dog Ranch. Denise and Rachel went above and beyond caring for my girls when they both developed challenging conditions while in their care. Took our new puppy to the puppy socialization classes here and they were phenomenal! Sharon is a great teacher, and the classes are really well organized. Each class consists of a combination of puppy play time, exploration (puppy gets to explore new textures and items), basic training, and discussion of important aspects of raising a dog. Plus they let you start at 8 weeks after the first Parvo vaccine! This is essential as early socialization is so important, and because they do the class in a sanitized indoor environment its still safe for the puppies! We were with a book and videos to help with training at home. We actually tried about 6 different puppy classes with our dog and this was our favorite! Did a wonderful job of socializing our puppy and getting him used to various textures and experiences. We will be continuing training our dog here as he grows older. read more

Cool Dog is descriptive. Lynne trained our three dogs. Our two year old, who had the off leash training was recently at her family reunion, with at least 30 other dogs and more people on a horse ranch. Thanks to Lynne, she was perfect, sticking close and always checking on us. Trainer Beth, who must talk 'dog' has turned our problem child around, and now he is controllable and loves performing his tricks. ANYONE who leaves a BAD review for Cool Dog is probably not a very pleasant person to begin with... We have taken all of Lynne's classes and take our dogs religiously to her for day school. She is always available to answer any questions we have and makes it so much easier to understand our beloved dog's behaviors. She absolutely loves dogs and they love her just as much. We have one rescue dog and we had no idea what we were doing with her, Lynne helped us train her and understand our dog's expectations from us. She teaches us not to set our dogs up for failure but to reward them for success! It is a genius approach and creates a stronger bond between dog and owner. Our dogs aim to make us happy (and get treats) and we aim to make them happy, not paralyze them with fear. It is the best relationship between dog and human. She has also trained our unruly puppy and he has become a very cool dog. He is still a wild man some days, so we take him to day school. He is one very tired and well mannered guy when he gets home! I cannot say enough good things about Lynne and her staff. I truly believe dogs have the best sense of people and mine absolutely adore the Cool Dog staff! Highly recommend the dog training classes here! We enrolled our high energy, highly reactive 2 year old dachshund into the Growly class. The Growly class is a 6 week class (1st week with just humans, the remaining 5 with humans and dogs). The Growly class is specifically designed for dogs that are reactive (barking, lunging, leash pulling, teeth showing, back of neck hairs sticking up, etc.) The class is kept small - up to 5 dogs total. Cathy was our trainer and let me tell you how great she was/is! She explains behaviors and techniques with ease and in a way that allows you to understand. Cathy spends individual, one-on-one time with your pup and their mom and dads. She explains tips and techniques to everyone as a class and then will tailor and tweak those techniques to specifically help your dog. She shows genuine love and care for your pup; which is such a breath of fresh air when you have a reactive dog and are so used to everyone else not seeing the love and friendliness in your dog. Now I'm not gonna lie, I was very worried about signing up for this class because we had done dog training classes before for our dachshund, and after those classes, I didn't feel as though my money was well spent. I always left disappointed. That's not the case for the Growly class at Cool Dog Ranch. I feel as though we're actually equipped to teach our dog appropriate behaviors. I'm excited to continue to use what we learned at class, and who knows, maybe one day, our fur baby will be able to roam around the dog park happily smelling the butts of every dog there. Our dog is only 7 months old and already so obedient, she is such a good dog because we know how to communicate with her. This is a wonderful place! I've known Lynne for a number of years now and she's helped me with training problems and I've boarded my dogs with her. When my dogs have boarded with her I felt incredibly comfortable that they were being well cared for. The reason that prompted my review today is because of her day care and Alisha who runs it. I have a new rescue dog that's been to day care a few times and comes back happy and tired. It is also helping with his overall confidence with new people and places. She was very busy today but still found the time to send me a video of him and a picture. She's very intuitive and really seems to understand dogs and their different personalities. We adore every aspect of Cool Dog Training! We started bringing our chocolate lab, named Molly Mae, when she was a puppy and attended the Socialization Class. We quickly learned from the owner, Lynne, that we had as much training to learn as our pup and she did it lovingly with excellent communication and covered a huge number of different and relevant topics. Since then we've taken several other classes with her and we bring Molly to Day School one day a week which she LOVES. Additionally, we have boarded her there and she is always EXTREMELY well cared for during her stays. My review is for the Puppy Socialization Class... Lynn is the owner and she is great! We took our puppy to her socailization classes and thought they were amazing. Yes, you are paying to sit in a room full of puppies playing, but the experience and knowledge that you gain is worth it!. Because they are not fully immunized, you have to be careful about where you take your puppy. Many vets say not to take them out in public, but the general industry standard says it's okay as long as you do it smartly. Don't take them where other dogs go to the bathroom...it's all about poop exposure control. Vets I think are more trying to cover themselves with the blanket statement. The class allows puppies of different breeds, size and ages (up until 16 weeks) to play and interact with eachother while being in a safe environment. They learn how to play with other dogs, and are also exposed to a variety of noises, textures, objects, etc. to help them learn about the world. Up until 16 weeks, puppies are open to just about anything, this is when their socialization is key to developing skills that will allow them to socialize well with others during their lifetime. Lynn is also great about answering any questions that you have about your puppy and explains the different behaviors that you see in class so you know when to get involved and when what they are doing is okay. We learned how to tell the difference between barking (I want to play) and barking (something else). At the end of class (twice a week) Lynn introduces her 2 adult dogs into the room so that the puppies can interact with adult dogs and also learn corrections from adult dogs. They are huge, but well behaved and gentle. It's good that the puppies learn how to get corrections from adult dogs... Our puppy has gotten some at the dog park (now has all his vaccinations) and he's a pro...when they correct him, he submits and leaves them alone. They also have training classes, which I am sure are amazing! We opted for Petco because it was a little far for us to go, but I definitely wanted to post the recommendation! If you have a new puppy and want to get them on the right road...get them into this class! Lynn is amazing and the class teaches your puppy skills they need for their lifetime! My golden retriever Thunder has been to Puppy Kindergarten class and Beginning Good Manner class. The facility is very clean. Lynn is a awesome trainer and behaviorist who really cares about dogs. Every time I approached her, she has been very polite and professional. I learned a lots from Lynn and can't wait to enroll Thunder in more classes with her. If you are going to take your puppy to Lynn, be sure to continue to the Good Manner class after the Puppy Kindergarten class. I can't wait sign him up for next class and day school. read more

I was very happy to discover Cool Dog Training from a friend of mine who raises show dogs and has sent many to Lynn. Before entering the puppy socialization class my dog Milo was very shy and hid in the corner when the other dogs approached. I watched before my eyes him gain confidence and learn how to properly socialize with other dogs with each class. Milo also had some bad biting habits as most puppies do and surprisingly those dramatically decreased with some very minor corrections. It was like night and day with Milo after just a couple weeks going to the socialization class and I would encourage everyone to do attend this class before their puppy gets too old. My only regret was not bringing him in sooner. The vets often recommend waiting till after they are fully immunized to attend which I feared would be too long for Milo but he still picked up everything just fine. Lynn is the best and she really cares and understands pet behavior so you are certainly in good hands with her. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. I called this place twice. No one will answer. They say its best to send an email for a "PROMPT" response. After 2 days, still nothing. I thought I would drive all the way out there to see if this place is even in business. I walked into the office after a wait, I knocked on the door, buzzed the bell, someone came out. I told them my daughter has a 12 week old puppy and wanted to put her in daycare to get acclimated with other dogs. I told her I am having a hard time getting any response. Then, another employee came out Rick and I told him the same thing. They both gave me an application, I wrote down her age, I told them the dates, and I left my phone number for the owner since I am not getting a "prompt" response let along one at all. The employee sent a text to the owner who was at the house on the property but was too busy to come in to the lobby area. Rick brought me back in a room with a window to show me the dogs in day care. It appeared very clean and not full of dogs running around crazy. After I drive back home, Lynne, the owner, sends me an email response. I told her to give me a call. She responds that she would prefer an email, like I have time to sit at a computer back and forth typing letters waiting for responses all day. Very non-professional and non-personal that she can not pick up a phone. Then she told me she is too young for daycare. Although the two employees didn't say she was. She suggested the semi-private puppy class, I told her the circumstances that the puppy was visiting with my daughter from Arizona. The class is five to six weeks. She is here with me for 10 days. Then, Lynne states in every email after email every objection why she can't do daycare, then it was a rabies shot, then she can't accommodate an evaluation they require, then she said an entire week of daycare isn't long enough, back and forth and back and forth. I told her I have met every requirement on her web-site, the puppy is 16 weeks old, she has her rabies shot, and now another response says she doesn't have enough room during the week I had asked for two weeks away except for 2 to 3 days and that's still not enough time to accept her to daycare. I told her in the first few emails the dates and she didn't say she didn't have enough room until she ran out of excuses. This place doesn't want any business. So, help her out folks and not give her any!!!! read more

I've been bringing my 14mos old Weim here since she was 3 mos old and I'm so glad I found this place(well I was actually referred). I've attended nearly all their classes and when possible love to bring my dog in for Day SCHOOL. And yes Day SCHOOL is the most appropriate title because unlike doggy day "care" places where its just supervision and "recess" all day your dog will be actively involved with mentally stimulating games and activities. Always under trained supervision reinforcing "cool dog" manners so they wont come home with newly learned "bad" behaviors. My only problem is that my dog gets so excited when I bring her in I think shes going to explode! Whether taking an obedience class or letting your dog have a blast at Day School, Cool Dog is the place for fun and learning. read more
