We are originally from the Bay Area and were getting married at one of the Temecula wineries. We reached out to another boarding facility, but Great Oak Kennels was the only one that allowed us to submit an application without a meet-and-greet. It was a huge blessing, considering we wouldn't be able to drive down for one before our wedding. In general, we were reluctant to leave our two pups, Milo and Enzo, at a boarding facility for the first time because we have never left them in another person's care who wasn't a relative. But we are so glad we did and that we had a wonderful experience! Naomi took great care of them for 4 days. She was very responsive, professional, understanding, and most importantly, kind. She gave them all the attention, love and care they seek and need. We were impressed with her clean facility and were relieved that she was able to separate the two dogs during meal time as requested. She was easy to work with when it came to the dogs' specific schedule and instructions, and she was very open and flexible to our needs when it came to pick-up and drop-off. We trusted her so much that we even extended their stay by one day! She was fantastic and we are so glad we know who to go to again for future dog boarding needs. read more

We relocated to Temecula from the Bay Area early last year, and we were very concerned about who we could board our senior dog with. Thankfully, we found Great Oak kennels and it has absolutely been a godsend! Naomi treats our baby, Bella Catherine, like a member of her own family. She doesn't have a problem that Bella has to have medications and her food softened and made a special way. Robert watched my daughters dog Sam while we went on a cruise quite awhile ago. The facility is amazing. Super cute clean and safe. Takes little dogs only. Sam was one of maybe 4 dogs and when we came to pick Sam up he had taught him a few new tricks. Spent quality ball play time with our little Sam. I had to board my anxious ship tzu / llhaso mix recently. Was so glad to find Great Oak Kennels. They cater to small dogs and understand their unique needs. Each dog has their own little room and there is a safe and secure area for the dogs to go out and play and potty during their exercise time. After dropping my baby there, I knew that she would be well taken care of and I wouldn't have to worry about other large dogs dominating her. She ended up making friends with the other dogs that were there. I wouldn't hesitate to leave her again if I needed to. If you have a small dog and are worried about a boarding facility, don't be worried about Great Oaks. They will take care of your little one like they were their own dog. I absolutely love this place! My two girls are always happy when they are there and the owner made my husband and I feel very comfortable. Rob is always willing to work out a deal when we are on vacation for a week. I wish they allowed large dogs too and then we would be golden, but they are the best for small dogs. read more

We haven't boarded my 6 y.o. Boston Terrier in years, so I was feeling guilty when we had to leave him for almost a week. Rob made me feel at ease from beginning to end. He went out of his way to help my fur baby adjust and feel comfortable. Coop doesn't have a fur sibling and he usually sleeps with humans, so he wasn't the easiest of guests in the beginning. This place is so great! Super clean and nice place for small dogs. Robert, the owner is a very nice guy and takes great care of each dog there. This was our first time boarding a pet and I was definitely nervous, but after dropping Bayleigh off and speaking with Robert I felt very good about sending her to Great Oaks Kennels. Rob (owner) at Great Oak Kennel's is a very nice man who genuinely cares for the pet's left in his care. We've taken our pet another kennel on 79 and NEVER again! so happy we found Rob. We've been clients for 5 years now and never had a problem with the service or our dog coming home hurt or ill. The facility is clean and newer, a large area for dog's to play, fenced. We've been taking our dog Coco for boarding at least twice a year for a weeks time and are always happy with the services provided. When its time to pick up our dog she doesn't want to leave Rob's side that's how we know he's a good match and that she enjoys her time with him. You can call Rob at anytime to check up on your pet and he'll give you a full report of your pet's day. We wouldn't take our dog anywhere else but Great Oak Kennel. read more

Great place for small dogs. The diggs are first-rate, but at a really reasonable price. My Shi Tzu is an indoor dog, so it's nice to find a place that has a real "house" atmosphere. We left him the first week in Nov (2010) for 4 days, and there was a freak hot spell, but my guy was fine since the kennel is heated and air conditioned! Naomi and Rob are very nice, and have their own small dogs, so they know how to treat these guys right--they pay attention to the dogs, give them affection and exercise at no extra charge. Absolutely love Great Oak Kennels! To call it a kennel doesn't do it justice; it's more like a doggie nursery. We have two rescue dogs, both chihuahua mixes. Our most recent rescue had never been kenneled and has some medical issues. We are from the San Francisco Bay Area and our son was getting married in Temecula. We thought the best option was to bring the dogs with us and kennel them near where we were staying. From the first phone call to Rob, the owner, I felt reassured that the dogs would be in good hands. He was very accommodating to our travel situation. We would have to drop off and pick up outside his normal hours. When we arrived and took the dogs inside, we were instantly in love with this place. It is clean and bright. It has a great outdoor play yard with artificial grass. There are never more than 10 dogs boarded at a time so the stress level for the dogs is way down. The individual run for each dog is quite spacious and includes an elevated bed. I could go on and on but the point is, Rob is incredible with the dogs and is genuinely invested in their well being. When we picked them up they were clean, happy and had made new friends - with Rob and the four legged kind! Rob had even taken a video he showed us of one of our dogs singing (howling) along with Rob! I would highly recommend GOK; I only wish they were in Northern California too! read more

When you love your dog as much as we love our little Jasmine you want nothing but the best for them. Great Oaks Kennel and Robert are truly the best. Robert's interaction with all dogs under his care is one of love and sweetness. The facility is SPOTLESS! I didn't personally visit Great Oak Kennels, but my dogs did. My review is based on my experience with the customer service and by the care of my dogs. I got married in Fallbrook in August and had my pups at the wedding. Our good friends offered to watch our dogs that night at a nearby pet friendly hotel while we stayed at Pechanga. During the day we had some post wedding festivities for family and friends and we needed a place to board our pups for the day so that my friends could attend. I had spoken with the owner on the phone about a month before the wedding and he was so accommodating, flexible, and kind. He worked with me and my specific needs for my pet and then had good communication with my friends who would be dropping them off and picking them up at Great Oak. My friends being as picky pet owners as I am, they too were impressed with the service. I would recommend this kennel as they made my wedding weekend less stressful by taking good care of my babies. read more
