Cool Dog Training is an excellent place to train your new puppy or even your older dog ! I found Cool Dog through our Veterinarian of over 10 yrs. I never had a need for a training facility as I had elder dogs that were already trained. However we decided on a new puppy and we wanted her to be trained so she not only minded but we wanted her to be obedient and a joy to take out in public. We started Puppy Socialization Class .. what some might go to and think of as Puppy Playtime. Yes it is that ..but that puppy playtime is the perfect way for your puppy to learn the rights and wrongs of playing with other dogs and how to interact with them. Pups are like children they only know what you teach them ..and if they are not taught how to interact with other dogs from a young age they can be scared of other dogs which leads to aggression ..and not understanding how to ultimately communicate with their own Kind. Puppy Socialization is a way to avoid this issue later in life. Lynne the trainer and owner of Cool Dog ..is Awesome. She teaches you about doggie body language... And will help with any questions you have on training your pup including potty training, crate training and more. Yes ..the pups do have accidents in class ..which is normal ..just like small children ..they get all to involved in play time and sometimes tinkle ..but there are 2 remedies in class for this ..One Lynne has towels and spray bottles which you grab and get to clean up messes .. And Twice during class all the pups are taken out on leashes to the potty yard to go ..in the beginning the pups don't get the concept ..but after 2 classes our Flossie got it ..and now she goes outside the class .. it's all about training !!!! The first 2 classes Flossie was unsure and shy ..and hid from the other pups or just ran on the perimeter of the room ..but by her 3rd class she was out playing with all the dogs ! From what I have seen it takes 2 to 3 classes for your puppy to decide to have a great playtime ..Once they do ..they can't wait to get out of the car to get to class ..Flossie knows when we drive up now.... I was so impressed with Lynne ..the Cool Dog Facility ..and the Puppy Socialization Class ..that I enrolled Flossie in Cool Dog II Obedience Class ..she's been to one class and I am equally impressed with it. Lynne, is an amazing trainer! She understands dogs on a deep level and is ready to help you prepare for all stages of your life along with different stages of your dogs life. She is helping us prepare for things we wouldn't normally think of such as fireworks, babies and socializing. We have only taken two classes with her and have already learned so much! She is so kind and gracious with our Lola and is teaching us how to be good parents. I have been taking my dogs to Cool Dog Training and daycare since the day they opened. I had 2 Cocker Spaniels who loved going there. After they passed away, I was lucky enough to get the most beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I named her Luna. I took her to puppy training classes as soon as she was old enough. She had fun and learned so much, as did I! I love that Cool Dogs requires training classes before daycare. It makes me feel so much easier knowing that the other dogs she is around are trained also. Taking Luna to Cool Dogs has been the best thing for her. The dogs not only get to play, but also get a little additional training while there. They also have a limit on the number of dogs in a day. That makes me know that they all get some one on one time and aren't just left on their own. The facilities are clean and the dogs well cared for and loved. I can't say enough good things about this place. I recently moved and still drive 40 miles two times a week to take Luna to daycare at Cool Dogs! Sunny is 3 years old now, but he had his training at Cool Dog Training when he was about 6-9 months old (through off-leash training). I highly recommend Lynne -- it's wonderful to have a dog that is well-behaved so I can take him just about anywhere. We did Puppy Socialization with Lynn and it couldn't have been a better experience for our puppy and us. Lynn's experience was great for us first time owners with a German Shephard. Cool Dog Training and their staff have done so much for my family and my dog! I had no idea what it takes to have a really Cool Dog! They are committed to achieving only the best results. They limit the number of dogs they take to ensure those that attend get a high quality education. They charge a little more than some schools but well worth the extra few dollars. Their classes are small and their trainers are awesome! Since they are a small company, be patient to enroll. They don't have a front desk person but prefer you contact them via email with questions. They also have a very helpful website with tons of information, especially for puppies. There aren't enough words to describe how amazing Lynne and her team really are. I brought my English Bulldog to her - and he was a handful. He was the most challenging puppy I'd ever encountered. As happy as I was to see him at a day's end, his tendency to jump on me was a bit much. He barked for attention and barked when he was just being stubborn (which, as a bulldog, is generally 23.5 hours of the day.) Lynne worked with him for weeks on the major issues but addressed general good behavior as well. When I got him back, I hardly recognized him. He didn't bark like he used to, he learned to resist jumping on people even when most excited, and he even learned a handful of other incredibly helpful commands that seem to have tamed him. While he remains as stubborn as ever (you can't train that out of a bulldog!) he has truly come a long way. It just wouldn't have been possible without Lynne and the trainers at Cool Dog. Lynne has remained available and willing to help virtually even after training concluded. She has exhibited patience, understanding and a genuine care in responding to every single question we've asked. She treats each dog like her own, a quality that makes such a difference when your pet is in her hands. Lynne has exceeded every single expectation. I'd recommend her to anyone and everyone. Our boy Kirby has turned into the greatest family pet imaginable, thanks to Cool Dog and their staff. I always felt the trainers really cared about what our dreams were for our dog AND the outcome. My husband called this facility to socialize and get some training in for our dogs. he spoke with Lynne prior then let me know how great she was over the phone and to bring them down for a class etc. The day of he has come home to prepare for the day & texted Lynne of his arrival for the time of day. The response was very disappointing. keep in mind appointment was booked, dogs ages breed were discussed. Her exact words. She apologized but after thinking about it she did not feel she had the right environment to test our dogs or socialize them due to their ages of 2 years old. My husband asked if he could call to discuss and her exact reply!! "I already told you why".. This may be a great training facility with other trainers but this is so unprofessional. On the website it clearly states "We can teach dogs at any age".. I understand if she had other reasons, maybe to busy etc. However this kind of rude behavior is unacceptable. This is false advertisement !!! If you can't train our dogs because they are too old, Then take the quotes off your website. Or merely explain the true reasoning as to why we were turned away the day of. "" Unacceptable "". read more

I have been taking Miley to Cool Dog for about three years now. Miley was considered a social misfit before Lynn worked with both Miley and our family to help her become the wonderful dog she is. I can't say enough great things about Cool Dog. Last September I had to put my Dogue de Bordeaux down due to old age. During last four years of his life, he was on house arrest as I like to call it. He had become very animal and adult aggressive. Right before the house arrest, he had killed a little dog. I never took him outside after that and taking him to the vet was always a major ordeal. I didn't know how much we were both on house arrest until after his passing. I adopted my Olde English Bulldogge and I took her to Cool Dog Kinder Class starting at eight weeks. Then, I enrolled her in doggy day school just once a week for half day. I wanted to ensure proper socialization with all kinds of dogs and people. Cool Dog (aka Lynne and Alicia) are fantastic. My girl is now eight months old and gets along well with all dogs, she even plays with my nephew's little dog, talk about full circle healing. Thank you to Lynne and Alicia for all they have given to Clementine and the knowledge they have empowered me with. Anyone who is reading this, IT IS worth all you invested in your dog at Cool Dog, you get back ten times over. I consider myself a well versed dog person but somehow I lost that along the way with my big boy but with the skill and advice from Cool Dog I have regained the ability to have a wonderful relationship with my dog Clementine and have her be an active/interactive vital part of my life.
