Debbie is a miracle worker! I can't say enough good things about Debbie and her puppy training program. She is calm, patient, and incredibly intuitive when it comes to understanding dogs and their unique personalities. I have FOUR puppies (yes, four!), each with different challenges, and Debbie customized a plan for each one based on their needs and our home environment. Her approach is thoughtful and tailored--not a one-size-fits-all method. She helped me learn how to work with each puppy so we could build trust, communicate better, and become true partners. Thanks to her, my pups are happier, more confident, and well on their way to being well-behaved little companions. What's even more amazing? There's no fighting or jealousy among them anymore. Debbie helped create harmony in our home, and I'm so grateful. If you're looking for someone who truly understands dogs and brings out the best in them (and in you as an owner), Debbie is the one. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants a peaceful, happy home with well-adjusted pups!

    Luna and Bluey

Debbie has helped us immensely with our dogs Bluey and Luna. We were faced with aggression toward people and other dogs on walks, leash pulling, and general bad behavior that left us dreading walks. At the recommendation of a neighbor, we contacted Debbie and are so glad we did. In just a handful of sessions and a few pack walks, it's like we have two different dogs. They are so much better behaved and we are all less anxious on walks. Debbie has taught us so much about the relationship between dogs and their owners, their reactivity, how energy transfers from the house out on to walks etc., and how and when to make corrections. We are so glad we contacted Debbie when we did. She has truly changed our relationship with our dogs and made our walks much more enjoyable!!

Cannot recommend K9 Journey and Debbie enough! We adopted a year-old chihuahua mix that had never been socialized and lacked recall. Debbie was recommended by a friend who had been tremendously helped with their rescue, and after a single session, we could already see big improvements. She taught us how to train our little girl while keeping her feeling secure. Debbie is great at working with how you want your dog to fit into your family (i.e. allowing them on furniture etc.) and adapting her plan to fit. Honey's recall is now amazing, and she is so much calmer on walks, now that we know how to keep her from getting so worked up that she stops listening to us. She is a pleasure to walk now! It is slowly getting easier to have people walk into the house, no longer resulting in Honey going into a meltdown. She is happier and more settled and less anxious now that we understand how to work with her in the right way, and are all communicating the same message. Debbie is calm and reassuring, she has a lovely gentle, but assured demeanor that makes her a pleasure to work with for both humans and dogs. Her pricing is very fair and she offers a discounted rate for further training after the initial package. She is great at confirming appointments and always arrives a couple of minutes early. We will practice what we have learned until Honey is ready for the outdoor training, and then we will be back for more! The whole experience was great, and I recommend Debbie wholeheartedly. This is the best thing you can do for a new furry addition to your family! It really helps you all speak the same language and keeps the humans consistent so the dog knows exactly what is expected of them.

He weighs about 90lbs and struggles with reactivity (excitement and pulling when he sees other dogs/people) and he did not consistently obey commands (especially "heel"). Elaine was patient, consistent, and very communicative. She took the time to ask us what issues we wanted to focus on, and then was able to come up with a highly effective training on the spot. She was able to get him to follow commands that even surprised us (including getting him to "place" onto a picnic table). And by the end of the session, we walked him around and had zero issues with pulling or reactivity, even when there were dogs and kids nearby. It was impressive to see so much progress in such a short time. Throughout the process, she explained everything she was doing, including the specific steps AND the purpose. She answered ALL of my questions with thoughtful and kind responses. And throughout the whole experience, she was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend her.

Taking her out in public was stressful, she would shake, bark and become very reactive out of fear, which in turn made us anxious too. From the very first call with Manny at Off Leash K9 Training, we knew he was the right fit. He genuinely cared about both our dog and us, and took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions, which gave us so much confidence moving forward. Throughout the training, Manny kept us updated daily with photos and videos, which was incredibly reassuring and exciting to see her progress. After 4 weeks, our Raven girl is truly transformed. She's so much more confident, calm, and equipped with amazing tools and commands that have made a huge difference in her behavior. We are beyond grateful for the care, dedication, and expertise Manny put into working with Raven. We can't thank him enough and are so excited to continue building on everything she's learned. This is just the beginning! Highly recommend!!!

Don't Believe the False Facebook Posts - Epic Dog Academy Is the Real Deal…read more I need to share my experience because there's a lot of misinformation going around about Epic Dog Academy. If you've seen those Facebook posts linking them to animal abuse - please, don't believe them. I fell for those rumors myself at first, and I want to make sure no one else makes the same mistake. I had signed my dog, Obi-Wan, up for the two-week training program and was so excited. But right after I told a friend, she sent me a Facebook group filled with terrible claims about EDA. I panicked and immediately called to cancel. Vincent, the owner, was incredibly understanding and patient. He explained that all those claims were false and even showed me proof - including records exposing the people behind the posts as having serious legal and credibility issues, but even though I already paid and signed all the paperwork - he still immediately refunded me my payment to give me time to do additional research. This is something he could have pushed back on but didn't, which really showed me what a kind and understanding business this was. Even so, I made sure to do my own research before forming any opinions. What I found was truly alarming: the main individual behind that Facebook group has a documented history of serious issues, including animal cruelty charges (all public record). His daughter once briefly worked with Vince - the owner of Epic Dog Academy - many years ago at a completely separate business. Shortly after, Vince left to establish Epic Dog Academy with his wife, Olivia. To be clear, the two individuals who now run that Facebook group have no real connection to Epic Dog Academy. The false claims they're spreading about the owner are completely unfounded and unsupported by any evidence, plus most of the negative comments appear to come from people associated with them. Once I realized the truth, I re-enrolled Obi-Wan - this time in their day training program. I drop him off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. It gave me total peace of mind to see him daily, and I can confidently say that not only is he perfectly fine - he's thriving. The results have been beyond my expectations. Obi-Wan listens better than ever, he's happier, and he actually gets excited to go every morning. Erin, his trainer, is absolutely phenomenal. She's patient, knowledgeable, and keeps me updated every day with photos and progress reports through their app. Christy at the front desk is another gem - her warmth and understanding make every drop-off and pick-up a breeze. Every single person I've interacted with at Epic Dog Academy truly loves what they do, and it shows. They treat every dog like their own. I can say with complete confidence that my dog is safe, happy, and receiving the best possible training here. Please do yourself a favor - don't let false online rumors stop you from giving EDA a chance. Check things out for yourself. I'm so glad I did, because Epic Dog Academy has completely transformed my dog's behavior and confidence. It's been worth every single penny (and I signed up for the Honor program!) I have given EDA permission to share my number with anyone who is hesitant to sign up. I'd be happy to share my experience with you if needed. -- Pictures of Obi-Wan were sent to me through the EDA app during his day training!

We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. We are so appreciative of the work that Michelle did with Monty. He is now the dog we always hoped he would be - happy, well-behaved, and living his best life!

We were recommended this place by another dog mom at the dog park who also went through the training and has a very well-behaved doggo. Our dogs - Gojo and Benji - came home more obedient, calm, and confident -- they now respond to commands, walk beautifully on leash, and no longer jump on people or fight with each other. The dog trainers at IQK9 in Valley Center are amazing -- you can tell they truly care about every dog and have years of professional dog training experience. The whole process was easy, clear, and very well-organized. They even trained us during pickup so we understood how to stay consistent at home. This made all the difference because it is so important for us to continue their training at home to instill everything they learned. Our dogs absolutely loved their trainers and were so happy the entire time. We had reached a plateau in our abilities to train him and he was not only becoming unruly and not listening to commands and "no", he was beginning to resources guard around us and the other dogs. He was becoming a real problem and a liability. We enrolled Bodhi in the 3 week immersion program and after 3 weeks we received a call asking to keep Bodhi another week, free of charge! As Bodhi still had some issues following commands in times/ areas of high distraction. After 4 weeks, Bodhi is miraculously a completely changed, new and improved dog. His energy level is even different. Much more manageable and he is still the happy goofy puppy we fell in love with. He listens to commands. He drops toys when told to do so. He stays on place when instructed to do so. His resource guarding is gone. I can walk him with the leash dangling from my pinky finger. No pulling. Bodhi is so much easier to love now, not that he wasn't before. He is an amazing companion and such a delight to play with now. The team at IQ K9 really took the time to get to know Bodhi. They shared things with me about his personality that I wasn't picking up on. I felt like they loved him as much as I do and they explained things to me in such a way that helped me understand Bodhi and myself (style of training) better.
