Also can tell a lot about a place by how the bettas look and are cared for. Happy to say the bettas I've seen look nice and always have had access to a bubbler and an actual small glass tank so that's a plus too! My friend had previously cleaned out their inventory so I was hoping they would have them back in stock but it seems they don't carry them anymore as none of the stores in town have had them for months. When I walked in I was greeted immediately. I was only there for maybe a minute because I was looking for a very specific thing, so I didn't browse the whole store. What I saw was as clean and organized as there other locations. The parking lot isn't very big and can be difficult to pull out of when traffic is bad.

It's presented as though "THEY" (Mini Pet Mart) appreciates your return business, so "THEY" reward you with a gift. Unfortunately, "THEY" are some unknown company in some unknown location, that contracts with Mini Pet Mart, to operate this 'Loyalty Program'.The gift actually comes from the unknown company--which is ok I guess, but the whole program is misleading. Naturally, the pond began to form algae. I called Downs By the Pond fr help. Loretta was very kind and came out to take a look at it. We then scheduled a time for them to come over and clean the pond and inspect the pump. Two men came over (Ken and Harlan) and went right to work. They fixed the minor leak and then spent several hours weeding and thinning the very overgrown plants surrounding the pond. As they began to drain it we found two fish that had somehow survived being eaten and me not even knowing that they were in there! Because I am new to ponds I opted not to keep them and they offered to take the fish and find a home for them. They spent about 3 1/2 hours cleaning everything and I thought that the price was reasonable. They told me how many gallons of water the pond contained, how to maintain it and what to keep an eye on. And Loretta is such a wonderful person. Very calm and kind! Was very happy to find them and will use them again should the need arise. I am looking forward to going to their actual location to take a look around.

A lost tradition no thanks to the legions of foul smelling Wal-Mart's that co-opted the principles that were important between a customer and the shop keeper. The store is beautifully organized with a replete selection of gifts, bulk bird (and wildlife) feed and some amazing bird feeders that are manufactured in the U.S.A. I was truly touched by the insightful conversation that I had with one of the owners who shared with me an experience rarely had, and truly cherished, thus signifying the importance of supporting our local businesses and the families that run them. What I admire the most is that they support conservation (with real money rather than words) which is important to me.
