You will not find a place that has a more impressive selection of fresh water stock than this store! I've never seen this many different tetras in one spot EVER! Every time we stop by, I always see something I've never seen before. I respect that the owner has strong opinions about fish care and ownership and isn't afraid to share them, even if that means losing or delaying a sale. He really cares about every little life of the fish he's selling and the hobby needs more people like this! Super knowledgeable guy, I take his advice very seriously. Also can tell a lot about a place by how the bettas look and are cared for. Happy to say the bettas I've seen look nice and always have had access to a bubbler and an actual small glass tank so that's a plus too! This is going to be the place that will have something rare and exciting in stock so prepare to be surprised :) I believe the owner said new stock comes in on Wednesdays so do with that info what you will! read more

I have been going to the Nautilus for my tropical fish for at least 14 years. In a market in which there used to be several small, locally-owned fish stores, this is now one of only two left and I do not visit the others anymore. Maybe at some point I will review them to say why, but for now, let's focus on why I like this place. Pros: ===================== -This is a fish store, not a pet store. You won't find dog poop bags as one reviewer was searching for, nor will you find lizards, or kittens... you get the point. You will get an owner that knows something about fish. -Because he knows about fish, you can trust his advice and input. -If you want a particular plant, or fish, he can probably get it for you. And, unlike one of his competitors, he actually follows through. -His prices are very, very fair for his stock. The importance of this in a market increasingly dominated by big box pet store cannot be overstated. -I have never gotten a fish disease from his store. I cannot say the same for either big box chain. Cons: ====================== -This is a small owner/operator business. He has faced a lot of challenges since COVID and his stock is not what it once was. But this could change if hobbyists like me stick with the fish store in our community. -There is one person, the owner, doing almost everything on the at least 50 tanks he has running. Yes, I do see an occasional dead fish, but I can say the same of pretty much every fish store I have been in. And they all had multiple employees. In the final analysis this is my go to fish store. If you are a FISH person, rather than a show tank person - or just a casual pet person, it should be yours too. read more

My aquarium was not yet cycled, the water wasn't good and he wouldn't sell me fish until my water was OK, and I'm grateful for that. I never saw him talk on the phone when I came in, and of course they don't sell dog poop bags cause it's not a pet store it's a fish store, and no complaints. He's been really helpful. He tested my water for me every week if that's what I ask. I think it's just great. read more

This place has the potential to be the best aquarium store in the county, and perhaps at one time it was. I have been to this store twice, the first time for advice and to pick up a new beta. When i tried to talk to the clerk (who i believe is also the owner) he brushed me off so he could continue playing on his phone. When i got to the betta tank there were two dead and decomposing females simply left in the tank to rot. I left feeling unwelcomed and not wanting to buy a sick fish. Today i went back to give them a 2nd chance and again, the owner is more concerned with playing on his phone than giving me the time of day. I found the plants that I wanted to buy but again there was two rotten decomposing fish floatin amongst them. Dead fish left in tanks to contaminate everything else and sad filthy tanks seem to be the running theme in this once promising store. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would!! The store is filthy when you walk in, the fish tanks look like they haven't been cleaned in decades and then I see the employee and other customers are not required to wear masks during the Pandemic! I will not be going back. read more

Went in this last Saturday and asked the owner if he could recommend a catfish or bottom dweller for my 20 gallon high. Without hesitation, he told me that he recommended the four line catfish. I asked about it's max size, and he said it only gets to about 5 inches. Planet Catfish lists this species Standard Length to be 9.8", and a MINIMUM tank size of 70 gallons. For what it's worth, I try to research species before buying them. I wasn't familiar with the four line, but I talked myself into trusting the owner. Big mistake. read more

They really didn't have any salt water fish mostly just clown fish. Not alot of variety. Pretty much just a fresh water fish store. It has gone down hill over the years. Tanks are dirty and had aptashia in the tanks. Be careful. read more

If I could have taken pics, I would have. Those poor fish in this place!! Looks like the tanks haven't been cleaned in years! I felt so horrible for the aquatic animals in there. My first thought was to rescue them, but I'm sure they are probably ill. Majority of fish were young. Not sure why that was. Probably lost all the fish an starting over with young but dont see them living either in those dirty tanks. I feel like I need to tell someone.. I think I will look for someone to tell about it. This store is a mix of freshwater and saltwater fish which is really nice to see. They also have a large variety of fish, some you can't really find from any other aquarium shop which opens up opportunities for your tanks at home. Previous reviews have said that the tanks are dirty but in reality only one tank is dirty and the rest are sparkling clean. I really like this place and the owner knows a lot about the hobby so if you have questions don't be afraid to ask! read more

The nautilus tropical fish store is THE place to buy your fish and accessories! I went to pets mart and asked for a cool fish and the lady sent me to this store and I've had the best experience here I have been there once a week since every week! All kinds of fish he can show you exactly what you want and a lot of options for what you have, prices are good, some might say a little spend but with the quality of fish you get and the costumer service I'd say it's cheap! Wonderful place and if you or anyone you know is looking for a fish go to this fish store! I promise you will walk out with a smile on your face and some new friends!
