I love this store. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. He helped me pick out a new food topper (which my girl loves so I came back to stock up), a new harness (told me to bring back if it doesn't fit (it fits) and sold me some foot balm for my girls dry foot pads. He sells a good variety of high quality food (Badlands Ranch, Dr Marty and more). I feel good spending my $ here because I'm supporting a local business. New toy for Pearl today, too. read more

This business is a gem. Staff are so welcoming of the shelter dogs I bring in. They really care about providing an excellent experience. JR Boss Lady Tori is one of my GSD's favorite aunties. She always has a new sample for us to try and really cares about him. She's a really amazing person as well as a really amazing employee. I once asked Boss Man how to feed natural and healthy on a budget and he was straightforward and honest. The variety of products here is really fantastic. My dogs and I always look through the whole shop even when we only come in for one thing. Staff can tell us all about any of their products even though they have so many. This gives me a ton of confidence in my purchases. They offer free samples too so I know what my dog will like before I commit to a big purchase. They donate some really cool stuff to the animal shelter and absolutely love my shelter dogs. read more

GETTING HERE: This pet food store is located where the Ralph's Grocery is on Las Posas. Find the Starbs, next to Fostar's Donuts. Turn to the right and walk just a few stores down and you'll find it. (NOTE: I can't believe I just found out now The Emporium closed!) :( REVIEW: I love to support local and shop small biz. What a great place to buy things for my cats! (I love all the animals all the time, so of course I would have been drawn here even if I wasn't a #CatMom). :) The lady who helped me was very kind and interactive, and she was sincere too! The cat area is at the back of the store, and while I was very tempted to get my rescue baby another bed, I resisted temptation (ha) but I couldn't help but NOT buy her all the awesome cat treats, too. PSC offers some known brands (Temptations) but I also found some brands of treats I didn't recognize. Bought a bag of the freeze friend chicken and my Jillybean loves them! They offer a point reward thing, which is a nice plus to keep someone as a return customer. I would 10000000% shop here over a big-box pet store any day of the week. If I could leave a zero review I would. I was walking my dog at night when I saw these poor birds with no privacy and blaring lights hitting them. They have number of birds and they had all seemed wide awake. The biggest birds seemed the most alarmed and uncomfortable, but you can see from the images all the birds seem uncomfortable and not covering to assist with their privacy. They had blaring LED lights directly towards their cages and total exposure from the window, no privacy from the parking lot or noises from passerbys. What in the world made them believe this would be comfortable for the birds?! I was really hoping to go inside and see what the store offers but just by the way they treat their birds, it made me believe they truly don't care for the animals and they think they are just objects to showcase. Wonderful local, family owned business. All three of our dogs were having tummy problems (yes we tested and all came back negative). We visited Tori last week and she was beyond fabulous. She gave us some food and supplement recommendations and within 2 days all our pups felt better. We went back yesterday to get more food supplies and yet again Tori went above and beyond. This is now our go-to pet store. Great customer service, clean and fully stocked store. You can even visit Ozzy the bird while shopping. Do you remember what a mom and pop store was like? It's like Cheers, you enter and everyone is warm, kind and knows your name. Well, PSC is just that! We have a princess kitty and two fish. The princess will only eat a specific brand of kibble. We were having trouble getting it at other stores and the customer service while trying to special order it was neither customer or service oriented. Not here! Chris ordered it and assured us we can always find it here! And his price was wait for it - lower than big box pet store that shall not be named! Chris and this shop will forever have my loyalty! Two years ago I gave this place 5 stars. Not now. Barely one. These folks previously had an African Grey parrot named Marta. It had a severe scissor beak. Instead of fixing this problem, they moved her to their Santa Clarita shop. I was told that she and Ozzy, (the owner's wife's Cockatoo) didn't get along. Since that change, Ozzy has started severe feather plucking. The store owners are fully aware of this problem. I have stopped shopping there, as they have not fixed this problem either. read more

My wife and I visited this store as an alternative to the big national brand pet store near by. We were looking for a toy for our little dog and were hoping to find something here. They don't have/sell live creatures, which is okay with me, just food, toys, houses, food containers, etc. for various pets. Its a little compact; they fit a lot into a small space but their inventory seems very extensive particularly for pet food( I saw meal worms for chickens, as an example, a first for me at any pet store). We did find and buy an interesting toy for both our dogs. My only caveat, they don't sell "soft" toys without a squeaker, which is the reason I didn't give them 5 stars...I don't like squeaky toys and neither does my dog(the bigger of our two dogs)who damaged the squeaking device within 10mins of getting the toy...it's still intact and in good shape! If you're tied of the big box pet stores, or dealing with a big store that happens to have pet supplies, "Pet Supply Camarillo " is a welcomed alternative; they will probably have what you need for your pet. They will be my first choice if my dogs need anything. read more

Really concerned for the 2 cockatiels and the cockatoo who live in the shop. The cockatoo has serious feather plucking issues and seems to have a scab on its chest, which is a great concern to any bird owner. The male cockatiel seems okay but the white (I think female) cockatiel was extremely lethargic with puffed up feathers and not moving. This is also a huge sign of illness. I left the shop actually crying for these poor animals. I really hope this review gets someone's attention so they can get the care and love they deserve. Also the cockateils' cage was very dirty. I can't think of a more welcomed addition to our dog-loving town than a new store that loves animals like family. Better yet, this business itself is family owned and operated. The owner, Chris, made us feel right at home. He won us both over: me with conversation and my dog, Maggie, with, you guessed it, a generous handful of treats. We walked in and immediately felt the comforting warmth of a store that values my business. The employees are knowledgeable about all their products. No high-pressure tactics, just friendly suggestions if you want them. There is currently an awesome "buy 1, get 1 free" promo right now on Blue Buffalo treats --- we hadn't tried that brand yet, so Chris offered us 50% off a single bag instead of buying 2 bags. Wow, talk about great customer service! Maggie also insisted on getting a bag of the new treats she had sampled earlier from Chris. Clearly, she has given her 2 thumbs up, err, I mean 2 paws up approval on this store. Hours as of August 2017: Monday to Thursday 10am-7pm Friday to Sunday 10am-6pm Our dog food of choice is Canidae Pure Elements --- I saw the shelf price here and it is very competitive with the online retailer I normally order from. Chris even solicited feedback to let him know if I saw any prices that seemed high. I look forward to supporting this honest, hardworking business and hope our community does the same. Buyer beware. I've been a regular customer for quite some time here, and until my last visit, had been very happy. Stopped in May 7 and saw Zukes Minis, several varieties and sizes, well stocked. Surprised me, as I was aware the manufacturer had issued a "voluntary removal" notice April 30. One other store in my area had removed all of their Zukes about a week ago. I asked the owner while checking out with another product what was up, as I thought perhaps he'd already received a fresh batch. What I got was a lame, hide the ball, nonsense reply about "yeah, I need to get to that", and some other comment about needing to check lot numbers. I took this reply to really be saying "I'll continue to sell these since I'm not going to remove my supply". So, this store is apparently willing to sell knowingly tainted or questionable food. A shop friendly to animals and their hoomans: Stopped in for first time with our rescue dog, a 5+ yo pom Chihuahua, Russell terrier mix .Chris immediately greeted us, inquired about our pup, offered him a treat, and answered questions and concerns (how to stop pulling and unnecessary barking), bonding with our rescue and us owners! Even the other customers and dogs were friendly, patient and helpful as we're trying to resocialize our new pup with other dogs. The selection of toys and food is vast; the store is exceptionally clean and well-organized. Chris gave us a yummy venison chew stick and another customer a snap lid gratis for her purchase of canned food. We'll need to take another doggy field trip here soon. read more
