My dogs require a bath & brush groom ...however I pay $10.00 extra for each dog which require additional10 minute medicated shampoo soak (I provide) and the dogs are not completely dry when I pick them up. The bath and brush groomers are not experienced when hired. Pets Mart allows minimal time per appointment. Nails are not trimmed properly. It seems as though bath and brush employees are learning to groom without experienced groomers overseeing what they're doing. I love the convenience of a neighborhood groomer however, lack of consistency is disappointing! For $10 more per groom my dogs will be properly groomed and dried by an independent groomer. read more

Just came back from Petsmart in Camarillo with my dog unbathed. At first she said I didn't have an appointment, even though I did. Then she said I always go to a different location, I've never taken the dog to a different location other than Camarillo for a bath. Then she said they tried to call me, Then she said the groomer called in sick. At least get your excuses straight! I will never go back. However, when I purchased cat litter which was on special: buy one get discount on the second, it was only good for the purchase of two bags. I have a cat who poops regularly, I buy four bags at a time. I did not get the discount on bag #four. Who does this? It should have been posted that the discount only applies to one bag. Ugh. I love dogs and pet stores so I hate giving them only 3 stars, but it seems like I'm always having issues with this store. I bought some Blue Buffalo dry food for my dogs. Opened the bag and it was full of tiny bugs ! That was disgusting. Next visit I was buying a crate and the one I wanted was way up high. I had one employee walk by and I asked for assistance she said she was on her lunch break and told me she would get someone to come over. Ya... that never happened. I found myself walking all over the store trying to find help. The next time I went in for toys. I stood at the register waiting for someone to ring me up, I waited and waited and the whole time the only cashier that was there was off talking about fishes with a customer. I get the customer needed assistance, but I feel they should have someone stay on a register, because standing there for that long wasn't ok. The last time I was in there was about a month ago, and all the cash registers were down. It's too bad that after years of going to PetSmart we find it all depended on one groomer. After Stephanie moved (who truly) cared about what she did ) the place RACED down hill. We always paid extra for the fur to be especially removed. It was worth it as our Golden needed to be kept cool as well as the mess. As time went by we noticed something was wrong and thought Cooper was gaining some weight. So we cut back his food some. We received a call a couple days before his next SCHEDULED visit and PetSmart told us his groomer was absent and he had to wait about a month extra.That is way too long for a Golden! It's not fair for any dog. So my husband called another groomer and we were lucky enough to get in. We knew JC from years ago and is very good. Please review this picture carefully as this is what we had paid for month after month to have his fur removed. So in other-words the groomer did not clean up the under coat which does cost extra but also took the tip. In the meantime we had cut back his food. Not to mention how horribly miserable he was with the extra fur! We were refunded the charge for that service for the under coat removal NOT perforbut it didn't help how miserable Cooper was. Our new groomer took a picture of part of the fur that was taken off. He is going to remove the remainder the next time. Cooper feels sooo much better. We trusted the store and the groomer. This this goes to show no matter how old you are you can't trust anyone. In the picture all of the fluff is Cooper's fur that came off in one sitting!!! read more

Cole the person claiming to be a manager refused to sell goldfish for my 10 years old even after letting him know that we are planning to get a bigger tank but was okay if we were to buy the goldfish as preys. I didn't personally shop here, but my folks did. On two separate occasions. The first time, they purchased 2 pretty black kitty's. They were brother and sister. They were like 4 months old. Maybe younger. My mom noticed they weren't acting normal and remembered the salesperson said they may have a respiratory infection. They should go to the vet and have the vet do a full exam. Of course they offered to sell them a Pet Smart insurance policy. My folks declined and brought the cats to a private local vet. After bloodwork was done, the doctor informed them the cats had a fatal respiratory disease. They both died a week later. A month or two later they stopped in and saw a cat they liked. She was a couple of years old. They got her and after a week, they brought her to the vet and she tested positive for Giardia and she also had ringworm. read more

Very bad service. The employees will follow you around like you are trying to steal. Yeah, I'm walking in with a $3000 dog to steal your overpriced Chinese products. I brought my puppy in for a bath, which I had made an appointment for with groomer Evelyn, and it took almost 4 hours. When I went to pick him up at the time they told me he would be ready, and they said that they were really backed up with walk ins and had not started on him. They told me to come back in another hour and a half. What is the point of making appointments if they do not follow them. Come to find out that they left him in a kennel for 3 and a half hours and just gave him a half assed rinse and poorly dryer him off. They did not perform all of the services that I had requested, it appears that the groomers did not care about providing good service and just wanted to go home. Not recommended. read more

Alec was beyond helpful, I bought a harness for my husky in the morning, everything was fine until I noticed the bite through it later on the night, and it was a $30 harness, I was pretty upset at this point. So I went ahead and called and explained what happened, thinking I took a total loss, but no, Alec was letting me know I can exchange it which took a relief off my shoulder, I'm so thankful for him, I drove as quickly as I could before closing and was able to be assisted by him. Terrible organization of appointment scheduling! I was scheduled for a Tuesday and they called to cancel since the groomer had a family emergency. They said they would work it out and call me with a different time. Never called! I finally went online to schedule again the next weekend and made a Sunday appt. Showed up with my dog and no groomers were there! Spoke to the store manager and he said the grooming manager would call me that afternoon to schedule a free grooming. That was 3 days ago. Walking in you are always greeted, I also appreciate the fact that at least one sales associate will ask you if you need help or have any questions, it just shows that they really value their customers. They also give great advice here! Walking in sometimes I have little questions here and there about products and they have always been so helpful and dead on with their suggestions. I also love when they give coupons on products to ensure that your not paying as much for an item your simply "testing out". Everyone here is professional and the store is always clean. Overall their product selection is 5 star, I come in & find that they add new products often while maintaining some products that may be older. I've found the perfect mix here of cheap cat toys with higher grade cat foods. I also appreciate that their pricing is consistent, never walk out feeling like the prices fluctuated too much. Seemed knowledgable about which fish would be appropriate additions to our 55 gallon aquarium. We've purchased fish previously from here and all lived a long time. Never had any problems with sick fish. It's nice when they have sales. To make some of the roving more reasonable. Over all good pets store. I love the customer service in the store. But the grooming salon is a different story. The grooming salon is a joke. Their only good groomer is Tezy. I have a Lhasa Apso who hates baths and a nervous Shih Tzu. Whenever I pick them up, they look so nice, clean, and most importantly happy. Tezy always follows my directions very well. If it weren't for the other groomers, I would've given 5 stars just for Tezy. But the other groomers are absolutely TERRIBLE. When I called to make an appointment, I was on the phone with a rude woman named Chris. Seriously, she is a huge pain to deal with. She kept insisting they had no appointments available for the day I requested yet I saw online that they had plenty. Now I would have been fine had she explained the discrepancy but instead she kept rudely cutting me off and talking over me. I would never take my dogs to Chris after the way she spoke to me. I would be scared to see how she treats her clients' dogs if that's how she treats people. Another time I took my dogs to one of the other groomers who wasn't Tezy. Big mistake. When I picked them up, their fur still had dirt in it and it looked like they hardly got bathed. My Lhasa Apso has white fur so it's especially important to me that she's well-bathed. Not only that, but my dogs practically ran away from the place after that appointment so I dread to think of how that groomer treated them. If you're planning on grooming your dog here and you love them at all, ask for Tezy. It's a terrible salon but she makes up for the other groomers in there. TL;DR Ask for Tezy at the grooming salon. Chances are that you're wasting your money on the other groomers. read more

This place is very sad and disturbing. I walk in to look for some horn worms and ask a team member for help. He then directs me to the cashier to ask him to locate another team member. I ask the cashier for help but he is too busy watching videos on Facebook and looks annoyed that I'm asking for assistance. i've had 3 hamsters die within a day of me buying them from this location. they don't care, show any sympathy. they pick them up and dump them in the trash. it's heartbreaking. i bought a tank with a mesh lid and the employee only charged me for the lid and when i went back the next day to return the hamster they informed me they undercharged me and i had to pay for the tank. no one told me the stupid lid cost extra. the worst customer service EVER. when i waited to return my hamster and get a new one the worker who was supposed to help me walked off for 20 minutes. i told another worker because there were 3 walking around and she said he'd be there soon.. no offer to help or anything. read more
