My family and I were looking into dog boarding over Labor Day weekend, and found this place on google. What interested us in this place was it being specifically for smaller sized dogs, under 40lbs. We took him on a trial visit which he loved, although he was very nervous. After that, about once a week we would take him to regular daycare just so he can get used to being around the employees and the dogs. When we would pick him up, he would be so full of energy and joy. He would mainly stick by the people rather than the dogs, he's just like that. During his stay, he had gotten a minor injury(due to his fault not the daycare), which they called us to let us know of what had happened, what they will be doing (cleaning the wound and making sure he doesn't lick it). If it had escalated, they would provide some medication, but luckily he was perfectly fine and unbothered. They were very informative and caring for the dogs, have a great location, and the people are kind, we are grateful. Although we do not need to take him to daycare or to board him anytime soon, we would definitely return here if we needed to. read more

This place rocks! I was so picky when it came to finding the right daycare/boarding for my puppy! This place hit all my boxes. I live in Ventura and I gladly make the drive out. The owner is always there to greet us. They have cameras so I can check on my dog throughout the day. I came up to Camarillo for a week of training for my position in senior living. I didn't want to leave my Shih Tzu, Puck at home. So I drove up the week before to have her assessed at Beach Dog Fun. I am so glad I did! Puck had the best time going to Beach Dog Fun everyday and made new puppy friends while I met new colleagues, and learned new techniques. Everyone who works at Beach Dog is so kind, polite, professional and they love dogs. It has a great space for dogs to play and lounge, it is clean, easy to get to, great parking and also offers grooming and puppy/dog supplies. When I pulled up in the morning Puck jumped onto my lap to get out of the car as quick as possible to see her friends and play. She even had a bath and had her nails clipped. She came out all fluffy. Just picked up my 10 month old pup after a night at this awful awful horrible place. never Had my dog stayed overnight at a pet place. This place came highly recommended by a neighbor and we decided to give it a try. Melissa was on the phone with us and assured us that Oreo our dog will be very comfortable. We checked him in for 3 days thinking we can always see him over the internet with the cameras they have, well only until 500 pm after that no cameras available and to be honest I don't think they even have any supervision. So instead of leaving him there for 3 nights we went and picked him up at 9.00 am. This is where we were greeted by an older lady who was extremely rude just because my wife opened a daar that led to all the pups slightly to ease our dog to exit. Mind you the door was opened no more than 4-5 inches because my wife know the dogs in daycare behind the chain link fence may run or charge towards her. By this time the lady incharge screamed at her " can you not read" and slammed the door on my wife's face. All hell broke loose at this point argument of the rude behavior. Then our pup was brought to us and he was wet. Well this was not water but dog pee. Who knows whose and what they did with our poor pampered pet overnight. We had to take him to the groomers and get him cleaned up. This place should be shut down and should be banned from having pets. horrible experience. never again. read more

It may not appear to be a pup-ular spot for a doggie retreat, but the care and attention given to your fur-baby is unsurpassed. My Pom was 5 months old and I was a little apprehensive, but I was out at ease knowing they seriously evaluate vaccinations, your dogs temperament and that they watch the dogs quite diligently. We've been back (because 'mom' needed a couple hours to organize without help...) and it was a lovely and affordable break!! Finnegan wouldn't stop crying. We were desperate to find a loving place for him to be while our home was being finished. Beach Dog Fun offers: 1. Cageless rooms- Pillows- different chairs- cots- comfy beds. 2. Staff that is PRESENT and ATTENTIVE! 3. They actually have activities for the dogs- keeps them stimulated and engaged. 4. They personalize the experience for each dog. Finnegan got a warm jacket to wear and special chairs for his back and legs. 5. They made treats for Thanksgiving- ornaments for the holidays. 6. They keep us updated with sweet reminder pics of what our puppies are doing. 8. VIDEO Camera - not like you need to check in- BUT you CAN - and it's just fun to see what's happening! 9. BOARDING- they have a Moon Room with pillows and blankets and a bunk bed- when one of the owners sleeps on the top to watch and be present for the dogs. WOW ... that's first class service! 10. First time leaving my Pomeranian for 3 nights, and I couldn't be more pleased with how the little vacay went. Even though he was shy at first, one of the girls took time to "befriend" him, giving him some treats and ultimately was able to hold him and get him comfortably acclimated. Excellent daily or overnight pet sitting for small dogs. We have brought our dog here for the past three years since he was a puppy. All of the staff are very nice and caring towards the dogs. You can leave your pup here all day while you are at work or hourly if you just want to run errands or overnight if you are on vacation etc. The dogs are always accompanied by a staff member if they are staying overnight. The groomer is always very busy and you have to book in advance, our dog is groomed about every five to six weeks and we have been very happy with the outcome. I remember once I was with my dog and I met Melissa (who is the owner) by chance in a shopping center parking lot and when my dog saw her he rolled over for a belly rub, you can't get any reassurance your dog is taken care of than that. read more

Our house was getting tented so I chose them to take care of my dog POGI for two consecutive nights. I like the way they run their business because yo can see your dog in their app and they even provide you with a report card. If you are taking your dog for an overnight stay, rest assured they don't put your beloved pet in a crate.....they take your pet home so your dog can run around freely. After a few days, I went to the same shopping area to take pogi for grooming. The grooming place is about two doors down from beach dog fun. When pogi got out of the car, he started dragging me to go to this establishment. Right there and then I know they treated pogi well....and pogi misses them a lot. We've been taking our fur babe to Beach Dog for 4 years and continue to do so! Best staff, they truly care about your dogs. They dogs aren't locked up and can play with each other throughout the day. They give you a login to access the camera so you can watch your dogs live. We utilized Beach Dog Fun's day care for our four dogs, while home renovations are being done. Super friendly staff, very accommodating with their schedule when our's is crazy working with contractor's. On our first visit one of our dogs had an "accident" which he proceeded to roll in and I was incredibly embarrassed. The owner "I believe her name is Melissa" said no problem, she took him and he was washed up nice and clean. This wasn't in the scope of day care and I can't thank them enough for going out of their way and cleaning him up. In addition their system is set up where you can visually check on your furry family member at anytime, through a live camera app. Every time I checked on our dogs, there was always a staff member with a mop in tow. Needless to say it's extremely clean, very bright with beds, toys and resembles a child's day care. I'm extremely pleased with Beach Dog Fun, the care provided to our dogs, the staff, the cleanliness and I can't praise them enough. I've happily already set dates for our dogs to return. read more

I was so excited when I relocated to Camarillo to find a doggy day care and boarding with grooming in my area. My two little girls did fine here for day care. I had them boarded for three nights and the attitude of the owner and mother were very defensive when I was giving my feedback that was not positive. I was calm and nice and they never seemed to listen and hear me and were not very nice and seemed combative. Not once did they apologize or offer to make things right. Yes you take great care of the dogs, but your customer service is non existent. I don't recommend this place for overnight stays and if you have a complaint you better keep your mouth shut. read more
