The staff is very nice! Our dog, Cookie, just needs a few hours a week to socialize and be around other dogs. She always comes back very well behaved and in a better mood at home and we'll continue going since it's doing wonders for her mental health. They took us on a tour of the facility and it's reassuring to know they're safe while they're there. They also have a camera set in their back office to monitor both play areas (for small dogs under 30lbs and big dogs over 30+) as well as someone always in the play area. What I appreciated most is that they ask to do an assessment first. They make sure that doggy day care will be a good fit for your pet and it won't be over stressful. I used the self wash station to wash my 2 German Shepherds and it was great. They have nice big fully enclosed stations-4 of them. They have ramps for dogs to walk into tubs so you don't need to lift them. They have air dryers as well! They provide everything you need or you can bring your own supplies. Flying High Pet Resort is the top quality doggie daycare and boarding facility for Ventura County. We have an excitable herding/hunting hound dog who needed some extra socialization after having 2 rounds of excellent training classes with The Dog Genie. So we reached out to several friends for suggestions of doggie daycares, and settled on Flying High from a close family friend and fellow dog lover. Our dog, Ellie, had an interview and light play date at Flying High as my husband and I toured the facility. It's clean, well maintained, there's cameras and I witnessed constant supervision and monitoring. The big dogs and little dogs are separated for safety. Potty mess and kerfuffles are immediately handled. All staff were kind, respectful and used positive reinforcement with the dogs. I felt confident enough to leave Ellie for boarding rather quickly for a few nights during the holidays. She did wonderfully thanks to the caring staff at Flying High. I used Flying High Pet Resort for the first time this past week and a half. I brought my dog Karma in for an evaluation stay a couple of weeks before I needed to board her. Per their recommendation I also left her for a couple of hours on two different days before boarding her so she would be familiar and know that I was coming back for her. She had been abandoned twice before I adopted her, and I agreed a couple of pre-boarding stays would be a good idea. She did well on all visits, so I boarded her for nearly 10 days while I was back East. They posted photos of the dogs there almost daily. It was obvious that the whole place was kept clean and the dogs had plenty of individual space. Everyone I encountered was polite, accommodating, and professional. I am SO happy that I chose Flying High to board my dog. I felt confident that she was safe and well cared for. I haven't traveled much in the last few years since getting Karma, but now feel free to plan more trips as I know Flying High will ensure her safety and take great care of her whenever I am gone from home. Please ignore the most recent one where there was a clear misunderstanding between a new client and assumptions from them that I've experienced as untrue. This women and family owned business really takes pride in how they care for the fur babies that we bring in. They are clearly animal lovers and Dawn has even rescued and fostered her own. They limit the amount of boarding they do in order to ensure the dogs are well taken care of - rather than some other places that take on as much as they can fit. The first time I dropped my pup off for an evaluation, I asked a lot of questions and they were so patient and happy to answer all of them. The couple of times we've boarded our dog Shilo, he had a great time and we received updates that gave us reassurance he was happy and well taken care of. We've boarded our dog with several different facilities around Camarillo all the way to Santa Barbara and we do really like this one. We'll definitely be back! When I pick him up, he is happy and exhausted. I started him here for socialization and now use them for day care during my work hours. Everyone here is great!!! I don't know everyone's names but everyone (Tasha, Amber, etc.) I have interacted with has been great...with the dogs' well-being first and foremost. I even boarded Koda over the Christmas holidays while I was out of state and due to travel issues, I was unable to return on time. I was originally told that they couldn't keep Koda any additional nights. At the time, I had no one in town to pick him up. I have been bringing my small dog (about 9 lbs) to flying high for 2 years now and the level of care an service that my dog receives is exceptional. After returning from daycare, my dog is very tired and naps. This is excellent for work and/of school because he is safe and gets to socialize instead of stay in the apartment alone. I follow Flying High Pet Resort on instagram and they tend to show camera footage of the dogs playing and the staff socializing with them when they can. It is clear that the dogs that go to Flying High love the staff and that the staff love the dogs. I have had the opportunity to speak with the owner and this sentiment shines brightly when she speaks about the business and the animals. She and the staff treat the animals in their care like family. It shows in how they run the business and how the animals are treated in their care. At the end of the day you bring your animal to an establishment like this for the benefit of your pet. Flying High is run for the benefit of pets, and my pet has shown positive improvements from his time here. We love Flying High! I used to live in the area but have recently moved away for school. While I was there, Flying High took care of my dog Poppy when I needed to run errands. I was nervous about taking her because she's a pandemic puppy and is socially awkward around dogs, but after her first time there they told me she had made another little friend and played all day with him! Soon after I began taking her regularly, she made more doggy friends and would come back home exhausted from playing all day. Flying High Pet Resort is a wonderful option when you need to board your dog or take them for doggy day care. Our goldendoodle loves to go there and is always happy and exhausted when we pick him up. The dogs are separated into two areas, based mostly on size. The facility is indoors which is especially nice on these very hot days. They even have water play (kiddy pools and bone shaped ice cubes) and sometimes bubbles which all the dogs seem to love. All dogs that go there must be vetted before they can come so you don't have to worry about some other dog attacking your dog. They keep a careful eye on the dogs so you have full confidence that your fur baby is safe and well cared for. Pretty fantastic place! I drive from Moorpark just to take my son Joc (German shepherd) here on occasion for socialization and play time with other pups. My boyfriend works from home, so it's not like we NEED to take him here, but every time Joc has come home tired and happy.... Which makes me happy! The staff is usually pretty nice. There is one gal in particular who gives EXCELLENT service, I believe her name is Amber. She gives feedback of Jocs day and always reminds me of what a sweet boy he is and how much fun he had. That little bit of insight to my dogs play day goes a long way, and is part of what keeps me coming back. I wish all the staff would do that! :) The 4 stars is only because of not having camera access to check in our dog. For this reason alone is what makes us apprehensive of overnight boarding, which I wish we could have done on many occasions instead of bugging "grand-paw" and grandma to watch him. Dolly needs playtime and loves being social, after a few hours at Flying High she's smiling for over an hour straight. She leaps into staffs' arms at drop off. Milo was terrified from his prior life before we rescued him. I have taken my two pugs and my English bulldog to this resort for the last year. I have boarded them there as well as daycare. The last time I used them was March 6th. It was my son's birthday, so I knew we would be cutting it close to pick up Frankie (bulldog) by 4 (closing time). We arrived at 3:55 and my boyfriend waited in the lobby.
