I had to chase Shelbi down to get an assessment for doggy daycare, I've asked multiple times - and honestly I never had a chance to book with them. She answered all my questions during the assessment/in take. Staff all seemed very nice! We would have loved to get my pup in. :( I asked I think 3x for price packaging on doggy daycare with a promise to provide, but I still don't know how much daycare packages are. Im also surprised that no other staff member were able to provide this information; it was all vectored through Shelbi, and texting her directly. Initially, I was more understanding about the delay in response, but this has been on going for over a month. We had a tentative schedule for a complimentary half day, Shelbi said she'd "let the staff know", but there was no followup? At this point, I'm taking it Shelbi doesn't want my business. Wish it would have worked out, but this was disappointing and sad. I hope to try again one day and revise the review, seems like a really good place to take your pup. read more

At first, we chose this place because it was affordable and worth the drive--but it quickly became clear that it was much more than that. Our White German Shepherd, Barley, is very expressive, and it was obvious she loved it here. Every time we dropped her off, she was extremely excited which gave us real peace of mind. The staff has always been friendly, professional, and clearly cared about Barley's well-being. We tried this facility when our five year old dog was a puppy, and when we arrived to pick up our puppy the second day we paid for service, no one was at the facility to open the door even though we rushed to make it back in time for pick up according to the time we were told and confirmed. The dogs were left abandoned. Our puppy lost a dew claw from the enclosure she was in and was bleeding while we waited and waited for someone to arrive (close to an hour). The worker arrived and we picked up our bleeding dog. The owner called us when we expressed sadness about the injury and said, "we can no longer take care of your dog. Find another facility." This place leaves the dogs alone and anything could happen. read more

We just started to bring our little guy to SROO, cannot say enough good things about the staff and facility!! From the moment "Buster" arrived he was so happy and has enjoyed playing and having fun!! The staff is loving and caring and provide a great report upon pick-up. Facility is fully COVID 19 compliant, with outside drop-off and frequent cleaning through out the day and evening. I was nervous about having my puppy's temperament assessed a few months ago to see if she would do well with coming here but I knew I wanted her to stay overnight at a place that treated her like a family member and not just stuck in a cold kennel. I loved this place and the staff is amazing at the Ventura location. I bring my spoiled girl in twice a week if possible for full day sessions to help get her energy out of her and to play, play, play. She is always happy to be there and of coarse happy to me as well with plenty of kisses when I pick her up. I could keep going..... Oh, I like that I can text with them for updates and ask for pictures as well. Wonderful staff, very caring and loving to all of the dogs. What I like is the personalized service and that the owner communicates really well. After all, for most of us who are dog parents, these are truly our babies and not "just dogs." This is the only 24 hour-staffed facility in Ventura County. Did you know that many dogs are boarded in facilities where there is not a human being on site for some or many hours of the day? Not here! They are at the ready to assist, pet, feed, play, love your dog. There are, however, hours of operation...so keep that in mind as you need to adhere to specific pick-up and drop-off hours, to be expected. My dogs always run to the day care playroom door from the car and do not look back. And they sleep really well that night! I don't know what I would do without Send Rover on Over. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it's really hard when the last time you heard from the dog trainer was almost 4 weeks ago and kind of left us hanging. We were looking for dog trainers for our growing 16 week puppy French Bulldog and came across this place on Yelp. I was really impressed with the reviews and we decided to go with them. We decided to enroll our Frenchie in their Puppy Kindergarten Classes which costs I believe $130-$140. At first thought when we stepped into their facility was the smell. It was a very strong smell of dog fur, pee, etc. It didn't smell too bad after you got used to it, but it was definetly not what I was expecting. Secondly, the facility floors where the dogs play looked super worn down, and gates and fences were rusty looking. THe trainer Shelbi assured us that they were going through some renovations of sort, it didn't faze me to much but didn't look to pleasing when your bringing your puppy in. Overall, I thought the training classes were OK. I didn't feel we got our money's worth for paying $140, and felt we could'vr teceived the same training from a Petco or Petsmart. A few of the classes were cut short to just 30 minutes and and not the full 1 hour length, and it was usually only us during th classes and no other puppies he could be socializing with. Although my experience with the training wasn't too postive, I would still consider brining my dog in, now almost 7 months for daycare or long term boarding. Shelbi and staff were super duper friendly though, and I can tell they really cared for all the dogs they took care of in their facility. read more

They've been in Ventura for about ten years now and just get better with time. Valeri is a high energy lady who really gets dogs and realizes how important they are in our lives. She's one of the best trainers in the region and offers tons of different classes. The dogs really love it here. The daycare attendants are really loving but also make sure all the dogs are safe and under constant supervision. They're like my dog's aunties. The greatness of Send Rover on Over can be seen through the people who started bringing their dogs here when they were puppies, and are still doing so years later! The application process might seem cumbersome (proof of vaccines/ spay/ neuter, application about the dog, assessment), but it's proven to ensure that the daycare is a safe place for dogs to not have to worry about separation anxiety or restlessness. I took my mothers snoodle there and they gave him the worst haircut ever!! I had explained to them my mother likes him to have a snauzer cut. To keep it long on the face and the skirt around him. He had a few tangles on his legs and though I wanted that on the longer side I understood if that needed to be cut shorter.When I picked him up he looked like a big rat. They shaved him all over and even the face.The cut was uneven and they used the lowest setting. If there was an issue they should have called me first to ask if it was okay to shave him. I tried a doggie daycare while visiting San Francisco and was very disappointed. It smelled like urine, it was loud and hectic. My poor dog was terrified! I thought they were all the same. I decided doggy daycare was not for us. Fast forward a couple months at home in Ventura. Our house was right in the path of the Thomas fire. We had to evacuate at 2:30am. We were heading to a family members house and taking our lab was not an opinion because of their big dogs who have never met her. This was not the time for a meet and greet. I saw a post on Facebook that Send Rover on Over would take dogs who were evacuated. I was so nervous because of our last experience but feeling like I had no choice I texted the owner at 2:30am! she responded within minutes. We drove our lab to the Ventura location. The facility was calm and clean. It actually smelled nice! My normally timid girl was calm and went right with the staff. They assured me they would take good care of her. When I picked her up the next day she was happy and even stopped to get last minute love from the staff. I was so pleased with the environment I plan on signing her up for regular visits. read more

The owner has an attitude, she is more interested in her dog training then the dog day care. I own a retail business and their customer service sucks. My dog was seriously injured due to inappropriate care and supervision by the Send Rover On Over staff . My small (14 Lb) dog and a larger (55 plus Lb ) dog were left unsupervised during a sleep over. I had used Send Rover On Over for 3 plus years prior to the incident. My dog was left unattended with other dogs. Another dog jumped on my dog and caused a serious neck injury. I was very thankful that the staff took my dog to get emergency medical/Vet care due to the extreme pain he was in. Send Rover on Over never checked on the welfare of my dog after the incident. It took my dog 3-4 weeks on heavy sedatives, muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories and pain meds to heal. He still has some minor neck issues due to the incident. I would caution anyone that has a small dog or fragile animal to think twice about using Send Rover On Over in Ventura. I was also very disheartened by the lack of costumer services and compassion that the owner and staff showed my family after the incident. No one from Send Rover On Over contacted us of even sending a text to check on the wellbeing of my dog that was a regular at day care and overnight sleep overs. Also, I was never reimbursed by the additional medical care my dog needed. I will never use Send Rover On Over again. read more

I love Send Rover on Over, but more importantly, my dog loves them. I feel so good dropping her off there, knowing how happy she is, whether it is for boarding or day care. Everyone who works there seems like they really love dogs, and they always remember me, too, which is nice. I used to use a pet sitter when I traveled, but then your dog only gets maybe 20 minutes a day of people time. At Send Rover on Over, they play all day, so they are worn out to get good sleep. Valeri loves dogs and it shows. She has definite opinions about dog training, leashes, collars, etc., but it's backed up by evidence, so I trust her judgment. My dog and I have taken a training class, which is based on only positive reinforcement, and it has made my dog and I have a much closer bond. read more

This review is a long time coming. My very lively, sometimes difficult, highly intelligent, easily bored Shiba Inu puppy absolutely loves this place. He is so happy to go here, and so happy when we pick him up, every single time. The wonderful staff engage all of the dogs, working to make sure they are all happy and safe and paired up with the right play buddies according to personality, energy, size, strength, and other factors. They are knowledgeable and really seem to care about our Ronin, letting us know how he did each day, and working with him if he gets out of line. It was important to us that he socialize properly to other dogs and humans. Mission acomplished. The training is also excellent. Val has a broad knowledge of all sorts of training and the different challenges you can have with different breeds, and so is very good with all kinds of dogs, and you can tell she loves what she does. Ronin was tiny when he went to good citizen school, but he learned everything, with Val working with each dog and owner individually and as a group. He passed his test with flying colors at only 6 months old! Ronin goes to other daycares when he visits the L.A. area, and they are fine, but this is the place he really loves, and where he is happiest. I would give them 6 out of 5 stars if I could. I have been above and beyond happy with the services received here for our dog. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely wants the best for us and our dog. They are welcoming, friendly, incredibly sincere and you can tell they all love their job. The free puppy play is great. Carla has helped us so much with all of her techniques and educating us on how to provide our puppy with the best socialization and various training techniques. Her interactions with the dogs and owners are really impressive. We have been taking classes with Carla as well and our dog has learned so much and we have learned so much as well. Place is filthy and they crate your dog far more than is necessary. It's not as fun for your dog as you think.

These guys are great. The only free puppy play time I was able to find. My Great Dane is now 2 1/2 but from 3 months to 6 months he was very well socialized with all sizes of dogs. I've been taking my fur babies to Send Rover on Over for several years. I can't express enough how much I love them!! Both of my dogs get so excited and know all of the turns my car makes to get there. They start pacing and whining to get out about 1 mile away. When I open the car door to take them out they both rush trying to push the other out of the way as to say "me first"! The staff is amazingly loving and greet us with smiles and enthusiasm. My dog LOVES it here. He jumps out of the car and runs to the back without even a thought. They are very caring about the animals and I know my dog is in good hands. They even give the dogs a nap time so they can all have a snack and relax for a few hours before they go back to playing again. They open early enough for me to drop my dog off before work and they even accommodate special pickup/ drop off times. My favorite part is dropping my dog off when I go on a trip, then having them bathe him before I pick him up. It makes life wonderful! I called in and *SCHEDULED* an assessment for my 5 mo GSD, and the person doing the evaluation no showed - she didn't even give us a courtesy call to let us know she would be able to make it.
