There were visual barriers between Midge and other dogs on the first day of class. By the end of the session, we no longer needed them. Win! We have also taken advantage of the Tricks class offered in Malibu and we're excited to take our CGC test soon. I live in North Hollywood and it's worth driving a little ways to Chatsworth or Tarzana for a smart group of instructors who treat my dog and myself with support and kindness. I cannot begin to explain the amount of relief from anxiety training my dogs with Ricky has brought me. No amount of therapy could touch how I felt previously. I have learned patience, clear communication (with my dogs), and appreciation of the minds ability to change after years and years of ingrained unwanted behaviors. Ricky does not sell a one size fits all package - each of my dogs are VERY different, and while the fundamental approaches and concepts in training are the same - the method and timing in which we applied and reinforced these were vastly different. Ricky is able to connect with two leggers and four leggers alike - he gives clear feedback to dogs and human and uses metaphors that we humans understand (driving the speed limit and getting speeding tickets haha) on how the concepts of his approach effects dog behavior. I couldn't be happier. I am humble and I know I need to continue management (and one of my dogs I am holding to higher standard so we are going to continue our own sessions based on what I have learned) but my dogs are completely different. I'm getting complimented by family, friends, and people on walks - impressed with how well behaved my dogs are. I smile and tell them "thank you it's lots of continued hard work" and move along. This morning in particular we walked during trash pick up, had lots of people distractions, and both dogs stayed heeled and attentive to me on their separate walks. Do not hesitate to consider Ricky for your training needs. Also, if you feel alone with your dogs behavior - please know you are anything but alone. My new dog Lucy had received training from her foster mom but she was beginning to demonstrate separation anxiety so I made the call to Linda and she had opening that Sunday so I didn't waste any time getting up to Linda. Lucy spent 2 weeks with Linda and Courtney, Linda's assistant trainer and they constantly trained her and while there was a lot of hard work, Lucy acted like she was in summer camp because she got to play with the other dogs who were there to get training at the same time. When I came to pick Lucy at the end of the two weeks, her training and obedience was even better than it had been. Her separation anxiety was much better to the point where we really haven't seen it since. Thank you Linda and Courtney for doing such a great job training Lucy!

She answered all my questions during the assessment/in take. Staff all seemed very nice! We would have loved to get my pup in. :( I asked I think 3x for price packaging on doggy daycare with a promise to provide, but I still don't know how much daycare packages are. Im also surprised that no other staff member were able to provide this information; it was all vectored through Shelbi, and texting her directly. Initially, I was more understanding about the delay in response, but this has been on going for over a month. We had a tentative schedule for a complimentary half day, Shelbi said she'd "let the staff know", but there was no followup? At this point, I'm taking it Shelbi doesn't want my business. Wish it would have worked out, but this was disappointing and sad. I hope to try again one day and revise the review, seems like a really good place to take your pup.

I would hope the owners would call to find out what's going on in there doggy daycare. Diana should really be fired. I wanted to follow up regarding our conversation and your review. I was disappointed to read some of the statements made about me and our team, as I feel they do not accurately reflect the conversation or the steps I took to address your concerns. When you brought the late pickup fee to my attention, I listened to your concerns and credited the fee back to your account as a resolution. I also attempted to explain the policy behind your concerns, not to dismiss them, but to provide context. My goal was to have a respectful conversation and find a solution. I was very much in disbelief of the concerns, and I respectfully told you, they're concerns that have not been brought up by many. But those are your concerns and feelings and I respect that and I gave you space to express them. During our call, I felt that the conversation shifted from addressing the concern into criticism of my intentions and my role as a manager. I took a moment to process what you were sharing because I wanted to respond professionally rather than react emotionally. I respect that you have the right to share your experience and request further review from ownership. Your additional concerns will be communicated to them. However, after reviewing the situation, we, along with ownership, have decided that continuing a business relationship is no longer the right fit, and you and your pets are no longer eligible for services at Doggin' Around or any affiliated facilities. Regarding your payments, any transaction made today will be voided. For any prior charges that require a refund, please come into the facility with the card used for payment so we can process that refund. I'm sorry that after four years this is where we have arrived, but we believe this decision is the best path forward.

Not only did Gina put us in touch with an excellent breeder from whom we purchased an adorable German Shepherd Pup, she went far beyond that. Gina, in working with this breeder in the Bay Area, took it upon herself to begin working with the pup we chose for two weeks. She got her nearly sleeping through the night and then when it was time for us to bring her into our home, Gina was more than generous with her time and knowledge. Gina understands how to teach you to work with your own dog. She truly speaks both human and dog and in so doing masterfully perfects the art of happy dog, happy family. We are so grateful to Gina for her dedication and breadth of knowledge. The left side of her face is visibly shorter than the right and she just looks overall wonky. She's definitely shorter than I had asked for as well. But the biggest issue I have with this place is the smell. Every time I come, it smells so terrible. Like dog poop with a mix of some type of air freshener trying to mask it. Even with the awful smell, I kept coming because Jordyn was awesome! But with her gone, I probably won't return.
