I love my dog class!! ~Max
    Tamra K.

We have done a "separation anxiety" class with Robin and also have started a Novice weekly course with her. We are learning so much in a very comfortable environment. Our dog is pretty well behaved but WE also want to learn. We just thought, why not let him have the opportunity for best communication with is fur-parents? :) We are on week 2 and I must say it is very educational and fun...light! We love how she teaches and gives insight on the psychology/ nature of dogs. We get literature after class to aid in practice. Couldn't be happier. And, yes, I'm the kind of person that has a doggy notebook...so all of that goes into his binder.

Robin is a real pro! Her puppy class came highly recommended from a neighbor and was well worth the drive from LA to Oxnard. We learned so much and our 4 month old Cavalier had a blast. Robin has great energy, keeps class positive and upbeat and makes training fun and rewarding. She answered all of our questions and even proactively connected us with another local pup so that we could continue to socialize our dog. We've already signed up for her agility class!

Gracie LOVES going for rides on the beach on her fat tire ebike and she also LOVES Robin Roy!

My puppy and I recently completed a second round of obedience training with Robin. She has a gentle and positive personality and does a great job of teaching us humans how to be good dog owners/trainers. I learned from her that training success has more to do with how I behave than how my dog behaves. Robin has also kept in contact with me to make me aware of additional opportunities to help my dog Gracie and I take her training to the next level including referrals to other trainers who have different areas of expertise. I highly recommend her.

Robin worked with me and my Whippet puppy, who had been abused. She was creative and helped enormously to lessen his fears. Niki D.

My boxer was anxious and very reactive, but now he's noticeably calmer and much less reactive. It honestly feels like we have a new dog. Michael is truly the best. He's patient, knowledgeable, and always happy to walk us through any situation or question that comes up. You can tell he genuinely cares about both the dogs and their owners. I can't thank Michael enough! He's made a huge impact on our lives and completely changed the future for my dog. I'm so excited to see the progress we continue to make!

We spent over $1,000 hoping to improve our dogs' reactivity issues. We followed the homework that was given to us, stayed consistent, and while there was some minor progress, we eventually hit a wall. The BAH method is the foundation of their training approach, and while it might work for others, it just didn't lead to the results we needed unfortunately. What made it more disappointing for us is that even though the company offers lifetime support, it didn't feel like there was anything drastically new or helpful to move us forward after a certain point. Again, I commend for the trainer for trying his best and truly caring, but we hit a wall. We were basically told we were doing everything right, but the problem still wasn't getting better. This review isn't meant to discredit the trainer or the business. I'm sure he's helped many other clients successfully. Unfortunately, in our case, it didn't live up to expectations given the cost and the goals we had. Sidenote: I'm not looking for a debate or follow-up--just sharing my personal experience in case it helps someone else make an informed decision.

Fast forward to now, I adopted two little rescues from the ASPCA. I wanted them to have time with other little doggies and called up Doggie Around. My information was still in their system (from my other doggies). They updated the information and offered me condolences for my loss. I had an outpatient procedure coming up and was hoping to get my two new doggies into the doggie daycare. Well they made it happen. I took them on a Friday for their initial assessment and was able to drop them off that following Monday. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this. It was such a relief to be able to drop off my little loves and know they are safe and having a great time. I feel their prices are reasonable and most importantly, the staff is super nice and they remembered my little doggies names when I took them back on Monday. I know fur parents know how wonderful that feels when they remember you and your babie's names. Thank you Doggin' Around!

PASS ON THIS PLACE. Would not recommend this place. I was looking around to find a place a bit…read morecloser to us than our usual barks and rec (they are great by the way just a bit far and a little more expensive). We took our two dogs there for a temperament evaluation since it was their first time and we were wanting to book them for a week in October. They took them back for maybe 3 MINUTES and came back out and said that one of our dogs was nervous (I'm sorry but duh) and that we needed to book "A LOT" of day visits so he would not be nervous anymore. It's odd because it's totally normal for any dog to be nervous the first time going somewhere which immediately threw up a red flag for me. Not to mention the lady was pretty rude about it when I was obviously confused as to how they would know his normal stress levels after 3 minutes upon getting there. I got weird vibes so I just said we can cancel it and no worries. She immediately snaps back and says something about me not being fair to our dog if I don't book daycare visits regularly and what am I even doing there if we already have a boarding place etc.(very strange behavior). Most places have you book a day visit so they can see how your dog adjusts the entire day which our dogs do totally fine. Our dog is 10 years old and doesn't have any underlying anxiety conditions and was never prescribed medication for that ever so this seemed odd. Just a bad vibe in general. Unfriendly staff and insufficient time to actually see how the dogs warm up to the place for the first time.
