Took my dog to get groomed, got the basic bath & brush service that includes shampoo, blow dry, brush, nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, paw & sanitary trim. When we picked her up, her fur was clean but her rear still smelled. I called them and they said they "forgot" to express her glands. How do you forget a service that's included in what we're paying for? If I didn't call back we would've paid for the whole package without getting the FULL service. They were nice enough to take her back and fix it right away but if you take your pet here to get groomed make sure you double check everything before you pay. read more

I went in with a reschedule appointment because with first one they canceled on me. i go in and they start telling me they might not be able to take my dog in. long story short they told me they couldn't take him in because of his knotted paws i took it to the vet and they told me he was fine. I personally have always liked this Petsmart. I can't find the Simply Nourish wet dog food brand at Petco but its here and sometimes its on sale. I compared prices with Petco and Petco is way overpriced for a lot of the same items. I would say Walmart accross the street is a bit cheaper for cat food brands like Friskies. I just like to do all my shopping in one location and Walmart is too much chaos. Another thing I would add is it looks like they expanded the freezer section for dogs. The food looks likes like human food lol. I guess one improvement could be the integration of receipts when you input your phone number for the Rewards Program. I wish I could download every single receipt from my visits to Petsmart. I was able to email receipts to myself but I hate inputting my email at the register. I took my cat to get a full bath and full hair cut. They took 4.5 hours for completion, they put her in her carrier and I took a look at her when I got home and they left her so choppy, her bib was cut unevenly, her chest looks unfinished, the back of her head was shaved off and her tail was matter with fur they had chopped off. They did not brush her at all, I had spent 15 min brushing the matted fur from her tail! I also noticed they did not trim her nails, clean her ears and she did not smell like she got bathed. I was so so upset. I had to attempt to fix her on my own, gave her full on bath and make her looking better to my best ability. I have taken her to the groomers elsewhere before and their job was nothing like this...super disappointed and will not be coming back. Do not take your pet here. I ordered 4 pound bag of dog food online and arrived about two hours later to pick it up and it wasn't ready and the girl tells me it's going to be a while before they can get that order ready.??? I'm truly baffled-really? I told her I'm sorry but that's not going to work...I can't wait and I'm not going to leave and come back because it's too far away from where I live. I told her that I don't understand what the hold up is? I bought one small 4lb bag of dog food? and there's only a few people in the store? She ended up asking her manager if they could get the order for me and they were very kind mistakingly brought out a 20 pound bag of dog food and it wasn't even the right one...I told her that I only had a 4 pound bag and showed them the email confirmation anyway they brought out the right one a couple minutes later and I was on my way. This is usually my favorite Petsmart. Last year for my dog's birthday, the staff decorated Gemma in Birthday bandanas and loved on her. Instead, Not ONE staff or the manager welcomed us, and the manager just wanted to push by in a huge ladder without even acknowledging my dog. When I asked the staff about birthday hats, etc, she said they don't have Anything for birthdays! She didn't offer Gemma a treat at checkout and everyone was so rude. The selection was awful- they had some margarita toys and that was basically it. So upsetting. I hope the manager and staff working around noon on May 19 get a better attitude or work somewhere else. read more

She did rather well... this one was an emergency so, I took her to the closes one. We got there and she just went in for a mail trim. The young lady was not friendly. Tried getting the blue leash on and my dog snipped. She's a one year puppy and does well with others.... Not her. Again, she tried to reach and snapped I told the girl. That wasn't like her. This review is mainly for the service I received from Kevin. I ordered something online for pick up in the store. And I was worried when I received a notification that my order was picked up while I was sitting at home and wondering when to go get my order. I called the store and whoever I spoke with at first just put me on hold for a little while. Fortunately, Kevin picked up the phone and was able to sort out the issue and re-fulfill my order. I went to the store and Kevin recognized me as I walked in and quickly gave my order without any issues or questions asked. Thank you Kevin for the great customer service! FYI: -parking lot is really busy so drive carefully as not everyone stops when they are supposed at the stop signs and there's construction going on -the store is really busy and full of people during the weekends (even during the pandemic and masks are required but they do have hand sanitizer readily available near the front door) read more

Took my dog there on Sunday to get a bath and the groomer did great, but when my boyfriend went to pick up our dog we were told that next time we should call to let them know that we are scheduling a bath service for our big dog since the groomer had three back to back large doodle. I was a little confused because on our profile it clearly states what kind of dog we had and her weight size. That should be made available for whoever coordinates the schedule, they should be able to look at that information. It was kind of strange to be asked to call and inform them of the size of our dog when it is clearly stated on our profile when booking. I completely understand that it is stressful to have to groom 3 large dogs back to back and I do feel bad in that respect. Again, the groomer did an amazing job, but the clients aren't aware of what dogs are scheduled. Maybe there should be a better coordinated system for booking, but it shouldn't be up to the owner to call to see what dogs are being booked after the appointment is made. read more

I had the worst grooming experience at this location. Firstly, they had my dog for 5.5 hours.l, despite having a scheduled appointment. When I picked her up, her ears were totally wet and not brushed out. One of the workers said the dogs sometimes put their heads in the water bowls. (No dog dunks their entire head in a water bowl.) Her tail had not been cut. When I took her home and looked her over, the entire cut was choppy. I've cut her hair at home before with clippers and it looks 10 times better than what this salon did. Even the hair on top of her head is super choppy not only did they do an awful job, but when I tried to bring it to their attention, they made excuses. I also realized that they had not brushed her out at all. When I got home, I was completely covered in dog hair. I called back and wanted to speak to a manager. The manager called me the next day and I explained how poorly the groomer did. He said I could bring my dog back in and they could fix it or they could give me a discount the next time. Neither was a good solution considering the groomer did such a poor job the first time around. Also, just to clarify, my dog is very calm and easy to groom. Every groomer who has ever worked with her has said she is a good dog and easy to groom. They finally agreed to refund me. Honestly, this was the worst experience, especially because my anxious dog (she was a stray and hates when I leave her) was there for 5.5 hours. This location needs to reevaluate their groomers. I see a lot of other negative reviews because they have allowed unqualified, people took room pets, which are most often extensions of people families. read more

I'm forced to give 1 star. I'd give 0. I made an appointment at 12:30 for my Yorkie to be groomed. I've been taking her there since we rescued her 2 years ago. There are new employees so I went with one that had an opening on my day off. Walking in I was greeted by another groomer. Finally my groomer comes out of the back, makes no eye contact, gets on the computer, still no eye contact or greeting. After a few minutes she checks me in. Let me add, when I saw her come from the back and her overall demeanor, I wanted to cancel the appointment. I guess I should have went with my gut feeling. 4.5 HOURS later, I go into the store to check on my pup. She's cutting another dog. I ask her if mine is almost ready. She proceeds to tell me, "it's going to be another 30 minutes, I have to cut her hair." She said she already had given her a bath. Well I would hope so at 4.5 HOURS!! I asked how much it would be. I wanted to take my dog home. She said I didn't have to pay. She asked for a couple minutes because she was cutting hair. I maybe waited 3, before asking her if she can just go get me my dog. She then goes to past the kennels to talk with employees. Comes back towards the kennel and gets my dog out. She then takes her to the hair dryer. Oh, you can believe I'm watching EVERYTHING. Just give me my baby. Another worker comes out and I ask what is going on. She said my dog's ear got wet in the water bowl and she's drying it. I said that I would dry it, just get me my dog. So here she comes with my dog. She said nothing!! I get home and call for a manager. I spoke with a lead (the store manager wasn't in). I ask who is the manager and he tells me AUROA is the manager. Well that's not gonna work, SHE'S the one I'm complaining about. I'm calling back to talk with the store manager. She will stay their manager. So I will not be going back after two years. read more

This review is in regards to the excellent service we received from Jen. I went in to purchase items I needed to set up an aquarium. I didn't even know where to start, just that I wanted to get a betta fish. Jen helped me find the right fish tank that fit my needs and budget. I got the tank and all necessary supplies and returned the next day with my fiancé to pick out our new fish. Jen was super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions (which fish get along with bettas, how many fish to get given the size of our tank, maintenance requirement for live aquarium plants, etc.). I was put on a brief hold, upon working her magic "B" came thru with a open spot and ba-da-bing my lil pup was on his way to being fresh and clean again. Next in line with the A-1 service was Cindy, friendly and knowledgeable about canine psychology. She gave us some good advice on how to prepare and familiarize our pup to be more accepting of the leash being put on by the groomer. He said your dog bit me and we can't see him. This will be the last time I go there, he's been going for a long time and his reports are always "he's so sweet" I'm sorry, but my dog won't let me see his teeth either of course he's going to bite. My puppy swallowed one of his bandages put on by our vet. She had too many concerns about inducing vomiting, and wrote a prescription for fiber rich food to help. I visited a pet smart at Lindero, but they were unable to fill the script but informed me that Oxnard could help me. Kevin was very nice and professional as soon as I asked him about my prescription food needs. He even went ahead and took the case of food to the register while I went to get my script processed. Clarissa was wonderful and got me signed up for a card quickly and effortlessly. Then Kevin sees that I'm waiting at the register, so he calls me over to register 2 to help me! Wow! As I left the parking lot, I saw Kevin helping another customer loading items into their trunk. Is there anything Kevin can't do?! He's amazing! read more

Not only do the girls at the register have a terrible attitude on the reg, tonight me and 4 other people showed up at 8:45 and they had the doors locked. I know one other woman and myself could not get the food for our dogs that we were out of. And my dog is on a raw diet so i can't just give him any food. I stopped here to get a screen lid for an aquarium and to browse around as I had some time to kill before dinner. This is a newly remodeled store and the place is big, bright and clean. I found exactly the screen I needed for about $20 (it was for a pretty large aquarium) and then also found some dog food puzzle toys that were really cool. Most of their live pets seemed happy and healthy, though I hate to see when stores have birds living really close to the ground. It is not natural for most birds to be unable to get up high and causes stress. Also one of their pet turtles looked so sad I thought he was dead and was going to call someone over but then he moved slightly. They had adoptable cats rather than lots of kittens, which was cool. So my recommendation is to get the zebra/society finches up off the floor and check in on the turtles and this will be a great Petsmart. read more

My dog Lucius smelled good and he was clean however when I paid 90+ dollar $90 for a bath and FURminator treatment I expect a brush afterwards. Now Lucius is going in my car and there's gonna be fur all over the place a simple brush would've taken care of this it would've been perfect five star rating but no brush three star rating. read more

Don't adopt any cats from this location. March 17, 2021 we adopted a Siamese cat from the Rose Ave location. She seemed a bit slow so we took her to the Vet. She had clogged ears and was given antibiotic shot for her eye discharge. This last week a month having her in our family she stopped eating. She became lethargic and very slow walking. She had what looked like a seizure so we rushed her to The Vet ER. Diagnosed with extreme ear infection, last stage cancer and kidney disease. Her blood lab results were OFF THE CHARTS!!!! We had to put our sweet girl down. Shame on Petsmart and the rescue they got her from!!! read more

If I could give a Zero or a negative I would. I've been taking my doggies there to get their nails trimmed/grind & anal glands expression for years. I mean going way back to when they were still at Oxnard Blvd that's how long. My dogs are chi/chi-mix. They don't need a full grooming since they're short hair. Lately, I find their customer service skills or LACK there of completely SUCK!!! Seems the young girls they hire do not care about how they treat customers. My dogs only get their nails trimmed/grind & anal glands and they can't seem to do that right. They forget to do the dew claws and/or trim the paw pads. And, I wonder if they even get their glands expressed! I always have to mention to them "don't forget ....". I am big on customer service and making customers happy.... when I walk in and I see the "lead" girl talking softly to the girl at the Register while looking over at me then being told I can NO longer substitute one of the service (perfume) on the package that I typically get for anal glands doesn't sit well for me! I had been doing the substitution thing since they started offering the packages and all of a sudden I am told they never should have done that when in fact it was the Lead girl who said that I could. UPDATE: They have turned the corner and service is definitely on the up & up! PREVIOUSLY (about a year ago): 3rd consecutive disappointment in a row. Approximately 3 weeks ago, I took both of my dogs, Duke and Duchess, for grooming to include getting their nails trimmed, and supposedly both were giving them a hard time so they were not able to complete the service on any one of the two dogs. I was told to come back at a later time to see if they might mellow out, and have since returned on two occasions. The first, I was told they were too busy and I would have an excessive wait. Today, I was turned away at 3:25 pm because they were closing early (3:30 pm) due to understaffing. I will never return to Petsmart in Oxnard for any reason whatsoever. On February 18. 2022, my 2, mixed Pomeranian dogs had grooming appointments. Within 30 minutes of dropping them off, I received a call that I had to pick 1 of them up. I was told that she would not stand up and could not be groomed. I was totally confused and surprised because this has never happened. This was strange because she's an active dog. When I arrived she was on the floor "standing" next to the manager with a leash around her neck. When I retrieved her, she was damp. I've been taking both dogs to Petsmart (Rancho Cucamonga) for over 4 yrs. I never encountered any issues at any other Petsmart either. Upon picking up my dog, I said very little to the manager except to ask who was in charge. She pointed to some business cards and I had to ask which card belonged to her. I was one unhappy camper and walked out! I later found out that this facility had encountered issue(s) when dogs were anxious or had other medical issues and didn't want to groom those animals. BTW, I recently moved to the area and will never return here. My experience was terrible, the worse ever. I'm still thinking about contacting the corporate office. read more

First time here this afternoon, came in looking for some items for my cats. I do like how the store is laid out, I knew right away where the CAT section was. Quite a big variety on treats, litter boxes, food, toys, etc. I mainly came in to look at cat towers. I found an employee, Stephen. Who I interrupted playing on his PHONE. He appeared quite exasperated that I interrupted whatever he was doing in his phone. Stephen got the price I needed for the cat tower, without a smile on his face at all. Maybe because I made him DO WORK?! He had to get a cart thing to scan the price of the tower as it was up on a high shelf. Grumpy Grumperson. Not friendly or even courteous. I was super annoyed because he acted like he was doing ME a favor. However, the cashier (forgot his name) was a bit nicer. Told me DIFFERENT information on their return policy (60 days with receipt, Stephen said 30). This is why customer service is failing. No consistency whatsoever. I'll look around some more and maybe try Pet Barn next time. read more

Every single time my husband or I takes my dog MOLLY to get her bath or just a brush out has been so awesome every single time. Everyone that works in grooming is so friendly and nice when they see her they know who she is and calls her by name .
