We do not recommend their grooming!! They rejected our dog for being too heavy when he's a 6 month old german shepard. They barely even tried to lift him over the table and they sent us away very rudely. Maybe for next time and future customers have a weight policy before they come and waste their time! read more

Ken and Anthony at this Petsmart are an amazing 1-2.... They greet you at the door, walk you straight to what you are looking for, ask you if you want to try any of the products they are giving away samples of, make sure you are getting the best possible price and carry it to your car is it looks like it is a bit much! What more could you possibly want from a pet store? While the store seems a bit smaller than most Petsmarts, the staff more than makes up for whatever might be missing on the shelves. Horrible service!! I had to speak to the manager several times. I had to wait 20 min for workers to let me in to the store. They told me it would take 3 hours to groom my 4 pound yorkie. Five hours later she still was not done. When they gave her back to me they did not even trim the hair on her face when I showed mulitple pictures to the head groomer Nina. When I asked what happened they said she went home and did not tell the other groomers to trim my dog. They did not even bother to clip her nails. Butchered the actual cut leaving patches of short hair and long strands which I had to cut myself along with clipping her nails. Waste of $75!!! read more

This place is ridiculous. I ran it in as an emergency, because my beloved bird was dying. I was trying to get emergency help or at least get guided to the right direction. As soon as I walk in there's a long line and only one cashier and no other employee around I wait for more than 15 minutes and nobody Even comes to help me and when they do they say they don't treat birds they only treat cats and dogs. Keep in mind that before I even show up I called multiple times and they never even picked up I didn't even receive any sympathy or understanding of why I was so upset. read more

He gave me a lot of great advice about what to do for my tortoise and how to give him the best life possible. He recommended what to feed them and how to set up their space. I was rejected to come in the store because they said the store do not open till 10 which clearly states the store opens at 9 o'clock on the website and on the front door of the building another man came and just walked right in and they let him go and I waited outside and watched him came out with the receipt and what he purchased so I don't know what's going on at the store that's not right. Late post...but took my pup in for the all natural bath and Missy truly took care of him! She was very knowledgeable and took her time with my baby Goku. That proved to me, she has patience and makes it all about him! She checked him from nose to tail and took care of everything! Although his coat is extremely soft, she managed to take it a step further. My Goku looked, felt, and smelled A+++! She also took a moment to capture a cute picture of him bathing. BEWARE**BEWARE** My maltese had seizures because of them which eventually took her life I had a Maltese who was my baby girl. I took her to PetSmart and when I dropped her off for grooming they put her in the top kennel without locking the door properly. My baby girl who was 7 years old but only 4 pounds leaned on the kennel door which was stacked 6 feet off the ground and the door opened and she fell head first. She was rushed to the hospital and was having seizures. 2 days later she was released from the hospital and PetSmart refused to pay for it. For the next 5 years she was in and out of the vet and on seizure medication which I had to pay for out of my pocket and costs thousands of dollars. My baby girl was never the same and suffered seizures for the rest of her life. Petsmart who claims to love pets did not care. The manager just kept saying we are not responsible. They never called to check on my baby girl and didn't pay one cent towards her vet bills but Banfield the vet that they are affiliated with took me to collections for not paying my 200.00 vet bill after all the thousands it cost me to treat my baby girls seizures. Finally my baby had a seizure that forced me to send her to heaven. The vet said had she never fallen and had those seizures she was in perfect health. I understand that accidents happen but when they do its all about how you step up and take responsibility of those accidents. We are talking about a life here. I am a young woman with a family and they are a multi million dollar corporation and what they made me pay for was wrong. They literally come up with ANY excuse not to do their job. 4 times in a row they have refused service because of them being behind schedule and because they don't have any of my dogs information. I was in a rush to find the right covering for the back of my car as I'd just had the interior cleaned and wanted to protect it from my dog, his hair, etc. Upon entry I asked the first employee at the counter, but he had no knowledge of the product I was looking for. He sought his co-worker for help and she was able to guide me in the right direction. The employee that made me feel most welcome was a girl named Pati. She smiled, was kind, and provided excellent customer service. I wish all of the employees had greeted me with the same positivity. Upon checkout a different employee was unable to explain the rewards program effectively. Therefore, I did not sign up. Nevertheless, 5 stars for Pati's customer service! read more

My poor dog got groomed and when I picked him up he had so many cuts under his armpits cuts on his legs and his private area was cut, completely red! I called the nexted day after being up with him all night the lady that grommed him wasn't there so I went down and spoke to the manager didn't seem like he even gave a crap about me or my dog!!! I was able to see the vet there and my dog has a cone on sp he doesn't lick any of his medication off. Overall it's not okay hurting an animal like this it's not just one cut its many!!!! My poor dog is the life of our house and he's been hiding under his bed hadn't eaten or anything! Growls at me even of I go near him!!! This has never happened to us I've had him since he was 8 weeks old. Beware of this place and never take your dog here !!!!! They need to be more careful!!!!! read more

I just want to Thank Missy and Megan for doing such an Amazing job on my baby, Maddy!!!! Unfortunately I had taken Maddy to swim lessons and the trainer didn't brush her out when they blow dried her and she was covered in knots. I was devastated for how my Goldendoodles hair was afterwards, it was such a mess!!!! I called yesterday and spoke with Missy and she was able to get Maddy in at 8 am today and she cleared her schedule to work with my baby. I picked Maddy up after both Missy and Megan worked on her and she was knot free and looks absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Thank You guys so much for ALWAYS taking care of my baby, every time!!!! read more

I made an appointment for my senior foxhound at the Banfield Pet Hospital inside of the Oxnard PetSmart today for a couple of immunizations. Used a coupon for a free first visit, expecting the shots and little more. What a surprise when I was ushered into a very clean, professional exam room and one of the friendliest, kind, talented veterinarians I've ever visited...and I've had three dogs who all lived well into their teens. Dr. Diahanna Wray took the time to ask all the right questions, listen to my thoughts and concerns, and explain things...she was terrific. How wise of PetSmart to have this veterinary resource so conveniently located right within the store! In short, I was more than pleased and satisfied with this visit and will make Dr. Wray my sweet old girl's regular doctor! read more

We go there because it is convenient to our home and they have a pretty good selection of items but it is so expensive. We were looking at pet beds and some of them were more than $50. We needed hot spot spray and it was $17. Yikes! read more

I personally feel very disappointed with the grooming services. My dog was cut during the grooming services and was never informed. I asked for a specific cut and it was not what I wanted. I do not recommend taking your dog to PetSmart only if you want to get disappointed with the results. read more

Deemed my dog "aggressive" because a small dog barked at her first & she barked back at the salon. I would take her here to get her nails trimmed but they told me i cannot look at my dog while they do it since it makes my dog nervous. Her nails would go from long to almost nothing so cutting into her wick. which i would guess would HURT my dog obviously, the styptic powder stops the bleeding not the pain or traumatizing affect of it. My dog also apparently sh*t on their floor after the nail cutting when she's never done that before even for baths. I've also told them that she is scared of the blow dryer so please towel dry, they told me after that when they tried to blow dry her she freaked out, well no sh*t i told you it scares her. FREAKING LISTEN. when we first walked in before the last cutting she would ever get here. she would hide behind me & really didn't want to go with these people.. my dogs very friendly, & energetic, she lives with kids & often plays perfectly fine at the dog parks with other dogs. mind you this was over a year ago & i dont know if they changed staff but unacceptable how they treated my dog. Deemed her "aggressive" because she's the bigger dog & her breed in the barking situation. read more

After several attempts of ordering online to "pick up in store" ( Ventura and Camarillo locations) and having my order cancelled HOURS later, I decided to call the Oxnard location. I was annoyed and frustrated with the horrible service I had received at the other locations and honestly was prepaid for subpar service at the Oxnard location and thankfully I was pleasantly surprised by the stellar customer service I received. ROBERT was the one to answer the phone. I explained that I frantically was on the hunt for a birthday bandana and asked if he had any in stock. He was so sweet and patient with me. He kindly explained that they were out of stock but the groomers had a birthday bandana that was different then what I was looking for but might work. I zipped right over and was greeted by Robert's big sweet smile. He led me into the grooming department where I was again kindly greeted by the 2 groomers Cristal and B who were busy at work. They had 2 different bandanas that were birthday themed and after choosing one I tried to pay for it and they refused to take payment for it. They really went above and beyond to make my little old man's birthday special. I couldn't be happier with the service I received and since this visit have made it a point to stop in for all my dogs needs. I don't live in Oxnard and there are closer more convenient locations but none as wonderful as this place. The main reason I like this place is because of their coupons I rarely shop without using those. The best one they have is the $40 off of $100 which it's a great deal. You are also allowed to use the coupon multiple times if you'd like. This store is expensive but they have everything you might need for your fur babies. I'm a cat mommy, I have two 1 year old cats lilo and stitch and this is my go to place to get them food, toys, cat litter etc. they also have a clearance section for things that are near expiration dates etc. I've never used their grooming services but they always seem to be busy. I don't like seeing the cat adoption area, poor babies look so sad. They also have fishes and birds. Staff are always nice and helpful. I've asked questions about my cats and they've been happy to educate me on things ( I guess I could of googled it lol). read more

Came in on a Monday afternoon looking for new dog dry food. I have a husky who is picky and it's always hard to find foods she will like. Immediately upon entering the store I was greeted and another employee asked if I needed help. Unfortunately I didn't get his name but he suggested Bil-Jac. My husky loves it! I had purchased the puppy package, which is why I took my pupp here in the first place. At first everything was fine she smelled and looked great, but later that day I noticed she wouldn't let me touch her right paw nor would she put any weight on it. I decided to look at each of her nails and lightly press on them because they looked EXTREMELY short. Sure enough one of her nails in her right paw was so short it hurts her to even walk! I will NEVER go here again! Sad part is i paid $17 so she could get her teeth brushed and nails clipped. Now I feel guilty for making my baby go through this. read more

Took my dog to be groomed yesterday. Everything seemed fine but I saw a few small nicks on his underside that I'm sure are uncomfortable to him. Granted I know dogs don't always stay still on command, but It makes any owner feel guilty for taking their dog in unsupervised. The groomer also forgot to trim the dewclaws on both front paws. I called and they said I could bring him back in and they would do it but I think I'll be looking for somewhere else to bring him in the future. For $62 I just expected a little more TLC read more

The groomers at pets mart are really mediocre. For some reason my puppy always seemed sad when I picked her up. I was also never really happy with the outcome of her grooming. I decided to take her to A pet Affair and i'm much happier with their work. My dog seemed to like the place as well which is definitely a plus. read more
