Went in here yesterday, needed to pick up some dog food a few items. Anyway. The Furminator brushes have gone on clearance recently (with Petperks card) and of course, as a groomer I jumped on getting one because they're normally about 60 dollars. I got a black one in the Petsmart in Ventura (which will also be getting a review) and I was pretty stoked, and they said if I had any issues I could still return or exchange it. Fast forward to yesterday. As I was doing my stroll around the grooming section, I saw that there was a pink one that was the exact same price of the one I got and I wanted to see if I could exchange it. Jade, who happened to be in the aisle, asked if I needed help with anything and when I turned to face her, she looked like she'd seen a ghost. (Fun fact. We semi-know eachother. I used to work for Petsmart in Camarillo years ago, and left for a financially better job offer.) I thought nothing of it at first, and talked to her anyway because, at first, I was happy to see a familiar face. She gave a short run down of what I could do to exchange my furminator brush and disappeared. Or at least I thought she had. My husband came to her at the register with the brush and she claimed that my information wasn't ever in the system, which is impossible because I had to use my phone number to get the discount in the first place. That aside, she gave him the vibe that she didn't want to help him, and was overall very unwelcoming which is disappointing on a personal and a professional note. I've seen many, many reviews so far relating to bad customer service here and it's shocking to see that a company I held in high regard for their treatment of customers, from experience, has gone down to such a low tier of proficiency. read more

We love our groomer Missy at the Oxnard Petsmart. She takes really good care of our baby. Really good attention to detail. We actually come from out of town just for her. We highly recommend her. read more

Big store!! Tons of selection for every pet from cat, dog, bird, small animal and fish. Banfield is even there and a grooming department.

The vets at this pet hospital are great IF you can get to them. 1st time the desk staff would not let me in for a day and 1/2 when I called and told them that my dog tore his pad. Talked to the office manager and was told if my dog is hurt again come in. When I got there with a dog who was in pain and could not walk I was told that the vet was booked and may not see us. I left and took him to emergency and was seen within 20 minutes. The staff at the emergency hospital agreed with me that this pet hospital was cruel to my pet. this is the Banfield pet hospital read more

To clarify, this salon still has staff from the store when it used to be on Oxnard blvd. that is how we have been bringing our dog to grooming with Cyndi for years. Junior is like our child, having someone we trust to care for him is very important. We will continue coming as long as Cyndi is there. read more

I came here for my pup's grooming and it was very expensive! I asked for bath and deshedding (furminator) came up to $86?!?! They give you a progress report and my dog never had a problem in the past with groomers and they wrote a note saying he didn't do well when they dried him. I looked up more reviews to find that they kennel dry so no wonder he was terrified!! If you don't know what kennel drying is it's basically putting your pet inside a cage with heat being blown at them which creates overheating and stress to the animals!! Since I asked for deshedding he is still shedding like crazy! I recently moved to oxnard and my dog's previous groomer made sure he wasn't shedding when he was done. So this was a waste of money and it stressed my dog out. Never coming back here for grooming. read more

I got a little guinea pig from here this month, and after having her about two weeks I had to take her to the vet because she has bad case of ringworm.I wouldn't have thought much about it, but the timing that I got her and it showing line up. They also seemed to be trying to rush though me picking her or the other little piggy. read more

I will never take my dog to Petsmart Banfield again. I dropped off my Golden Retriever to get an annual comprehensive exam and X-rays. Once I did not hear back from Banfield about picking my dog up after five hours, I called to see if he was ready, only to be told that the Vet was on lunch and that they still had not finished his exam. Two more hours pass and we call again only to be told that the vet was with another patient and my dog was going to be seen next. Considering that my poor dog was probably in a cage for seven hours, we demanded to have him ready to be picked up. Once we got there, they had no excuse as to why it took them this long only that they were waiting for the "lab results" and that they too agreed an animal should not be cooped up for 7 hours. I just got my dog back home and he probably peed for a good 5 minutes and would not stop drinking water, showing that he was not taken outside to go pee or was given any water. Oh, not to mention he threw up from all the stress he probably underwent being cooped up in a cage. X-rays were also never taken after 7 hours! I will not take my dog here any more. read more

I keep trying to give this PetSmart a chance since I'm here practically everyday, but their employees are rude. First, I had to deal with a rude manager. I was returning the dog carrier bag I bought, because the zipper broke within a few days. The manager, who already had an attitude, told me he couldn't return the bag because the puppy clearly chewed up the zipper which was not true. He then accused me of leaving my puppy unattended to chew on the bag at his free will I guess. I know dogs can be destructive, but the bag was really bad quality. Then today when I visited, I was standing by the register merchandise in the front holding my puppy while my husband was at the open register buying some stuff, and the line got a little backed up. The 1st cashier calls for a back up cashier to open another register - which happened to be the register I was standing by. Anyway, I am looking at some of the marked down puppy toys and the back up cashier - with and attitude - yells out, "I can help whichever guest is ACTUALLY standing in line". Like really? I was just happened to know which register she was going to open up and decided to stand there so I can cut in front of everyone in line. Ok, I know that this does happen from time to time, but she didn't have to be rude about it because there's those times when obviously your assumption is going to be incorrect. Whatever PetSmart. You need to check your rude employees. Not to mention, anytime I need help, no one ever wants to help or even knows the least bit about your product. Sounds like this PetSmart needs a manager/supervisor scrub. read more

Do not take your pets to this grooming service!!! I took my dog to get a haircut and showered. The groomer was horrible!!! She left a huge cut on my dogs paw, which left my dog bleeding so much that she had to get stitched up. When I tried talking to the groomer to see what happened she gave me a bad attitude. In addition, the haircut that the groomer gave her was horrible as well. Overall, don't waste your money here. The groomers could care less about providing good service. read more

WARNING!! Please don't take your pets to Banfield. The employees there hate animals. A customer waiting to pickup his dog when they walk the dog out he was lumping and the customer was very worry asking for answers it looked like the dog was beaten so sad. I volunteer at a local animal shelter and recently fostered one of the dogs there. I had purchased an EasyWalk harness on a trip out of state only to find out when I returned that it was too small. The other major pet store in my area refused to exchange or give me a discount for different sized harness, since I didn't buy specifically from them. I walked into Pet Smart on Rose in Oxnard and spoke with the first sales person I found. He said absolutely no problem, showed me where the exact replacement was and exchanged it with no questions and no receipt. I had heard some questionable comments in the past about Pet Smart, but was totally impressed with their operation and the store. I will definitely make this my new base store for all my pet needs and will spread the word. read more

We used petsmart twice for grooming our miniature schnauzers. The first time was fine, but the second time our male came out with several scratches/nicks that scabbed over. I wish the groomers were more careful. We will be trying a different groomer. read more

First off Vanessa is one of the best staff members I came across at this PetSmart, she's patient and pays great attention to detail. If you want your pooch to look perfect she's the one to go to! This place is all girls and most of them give you a bad attitude whenever you ask questions or need a moment of their time. The first time I came here I was greeted by a red head, I had intended on setting up an appointment with her as she answered all of my questions thoroughly and assured me that she would take all the proper precautions whilst taking care of my senior dog. I called to make my appointment, was placed on hold for a great deal of time, just to finally be RUDELY told this young lady doesn't work there anymore. I had wanted to feel this place out before bringing my baby here and I could see a girl in the very back on the right struggling, now I know dogs can be difficult and touchy at times. This girl was being overly rough and I could hear her trying to be silent while cursing at the dog. She had put the dog down and hooked it to the floor and walked over to the computers to help me. She didn't introduce herself but her name tag read "Liz." Further more she made me feel as though I was a bother and my business wasn't wanted. She had booked me an appointment with Vanessa, to which I have no complaints about. Unsure as to whether PetSmart just hires anyone and everyone who needs a job or if they actually seek people who love animals. read more

Not going back here again!!! Appt was set at 1230. The girl at the desk said itll take 4 hrs, which was fine. Came by at 0430 to pick him up and wondering why they havent called. While waiting inside the store, you can see the groomers through the big glass windows. There's this red headed groomer who was trying to grind this poor dog's nails. Clearly the dog was in absolute distress!!! She didnt know I was watching the whole time. I know dogs can misbehave sometimes while being groomed and I get that. The dog was yelling the whole time and was going to nip the groomer bec she was putting the dog's leg too far up to the point it that it was uncomfortable. She just kept rolling her eyes and shaking her head. The leash was so short while the dog was on the table. Dog kept moving around she just kept pushing him back on the table. At one point the dog actually missed the step and somehow fell from the table with leash on and she just gave him a little push and still wanted to grind this poor dog's nails!!! At that time I called the manager and complained. She went in to talk to her, dont know what happened next. Thinking that you can trust them with your dog, im wondering if this happened to my dog too. Anyway, it actually took 5 hours for my dog to get groomed bec he got scared accdg to them. I liked the one who groomed him but they cut his fur too short! He's hairless!!! Stay far away from this place. read more

Where do I start!? I had an appointment with my dog at 9am . The girl who was in the grooming area said I had to wait until my dogs groomer shows up . 15 MINUTES LATER here she comes . McDonalds in one hand and Starbucks in the other!! . The girl who was there first told my groomer she was going to do my dog and all she had to say was "check it in for me " as she's getting her breakfast organized on her table . what exactly was the point in Waiting if that is all she had to say . They told me he will be finished in 3 to 4 hours . She told me I will be getting a call . 4 hours came around and I had not yet received a call so I decided just to stop by . As soon as I walked in a girl yelled out "he's not ready" with her back towards me . I asked why not and all she said was " sorry I'm grooming more then 1 dog your dog is not the only one " . I will never take him here again!!! Those young kids don't know what customer service is !!! I asked for a manager and they said they don't have one . I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ! read more
