A bad experience. I inquired about getting my 32 lb dog washed and dried. Dee Dee's requested a photo. My photo included my two dogs (smaller one is 21 lb). so, I said lets wash both dogs. I was then given a price of $100 EACH! This price in no way shape or form matches Dee Dee's website prices; I think I just avoided a bait and switch. I recommend you stay away. read more

When our local groomer let us know she'd be moving out of state very, VERY suddenly, we were bummed for several reasons. She was a lovely person, and an excellent groomer to our two rescue pups who didn't always cotton to everyone. Unfortunately, it seemed another groomer wasn't readily available to take her clients. For like MONTHS. So, we waited. And waited. The days got hotter. And the fur grew bouffant-ier. I couldn't take it. I just knew they were roasting in all that beastie bouff. So my husband set up a folding table, and dug out the shaver we resorted to getting - and using - back in pandemic days when the world was shut down. Sure, they looked like a blind drunk home job. But at least they were bouff-free. Month or so passed. We were at the Wharf for kibble when I looked across the street and saw Dee Dee's Dog Spot. Huh? I decided this was one of those "fate works in mysterious ways" moments, and wandered over. Right off the bouff, I feel good about the place. It's extremely clean, very calm and smallish, but not claustrophobic. You can see every part of the whole place which right away I love. Nobody's trying to squirrel anybody away here. Mackenzie comes right over and kind as you please, answers all of my twelve hundred questions. The clincher was that she had an opening to groom both of my rescue Yeti's in just a few days!! I felt great about Mackenzie, about her qualifications, and her excellent dog psych knowledge. My usually non-cottony guys liked her so much, I got the dog version of the chin nod, "Go about your business, mom. We good." Few hours later, they were happy to see me, but not insanely desperate. They looked and smelled showroom new. And each of my crazy mom instructions had been fullfilled, "Puppy cut, but shave like the day they were born. Oh, except for her little doinky feathery ear fringeys. And his eyelashes. And oh yeah, her left paw. And his tail." The pandemic shaver and crazy mom speak are getting put away for good. What can I say about Dee Dee's Dog Spot. They are such amazing people. I frantically called because my senior dog had an accident a couple of hours before a wedding, and they squeezed me into the self-wash station before their next appointment. I think I was in and out in 10 minutes. They give you towels and shampoo. This was the easiest dog wash I've ever done on my dog. What could have been a disastrous afternoon was saved by this staff. I own a mini labradoodle & McKenzie is my go to for my puppy! My dog had a horrible experience at Pet Smart where I'm sure she was mistreated and after trying different locations we were recommended to Dee Dee's and McKenzie has been our go to ever since. My dog every time we arrive is a little scared but when she sniffs McKenzie she forgets I'm there and willingly goes with her. She really has a bond with these pups and you can tell she enjoys what she does. She treats all pups as if they were hers and I couldn't be anymore grateful for her. Such a wonderful caring place for my newly fostered dog Luna to get groomed We initially took her straight from the shelter to Petco however due to their policy of not being allowed to groom any dog with a muzzle on they referred us to Dee Dees. Thank you Petco!! When I reached out to Dee Dees Thor answered the phone and I told him our situation with Luna. He was so kind and said they would help us. We brought her in so they could see what they could do since she had a jaw injury and the muzzle couldn't be taken off until the vet saw her said it was healed enough. When we arrived Mackenzie met Luna and said she would make time for Luna to come in the very next day! This will forever be our groomer unless we move away from Ventura! Luna had never been bathed nor groomed her entire life! Mackenzie was so gentle and patient with her. Due to recent surgery on her muzzle and tender feet we will have to bring her back next week to have her head and feet washed and trimmed. These are very professional groomers, I wont go to any other place, I have finally found my spot! They are affordable for both my dogs and do a great job on them! Ivy takes care of my 2 babies, and she does such a great job on both. I don't have to tell her what to do for my female mini Schnauzer, she already knows what I like Mia and Cash to look like. I took our pups here for a self wash last weekend. My daughter was with me to help. We made an appt over the phone for 2:30 on Saturday. We arrived a little early and the two women working were so nice and helpful! They got the bath area ready for us and took us to the back to show us everything. They provided the tub, shampoo, conditioner, towels, and the dryer. They gave me the option of the kennel it with a dryer blowing into it, or the dryer there's handheld. We washed the dogs, dried them, and paid before leaving. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to self wash your dog. Despite their busy schedule they were able to accommodate my dog who was shedding uncontrollably(his winter fur). My dog, Toby is a German shepherd/husky mix. I was only able to bring him on weekends since I work full time Monday-Friday and they made room for him that Saturday. My dog is very vocal and has separation anxiety.
