Highly recommended for live feeder mice. Great prices and they've had the sizes I need when I needed them. I'm usually here at off-hours so the store is quiet. Well stocked, mostly cat and dog supplies, but some stuff for other pets as well. The young man behind the counter who helped me with mice last time was polite and professional. First time coming here. Walked in and asked for assistance and was ignored. Then, went to the counter to check out and was ignored. My daughter and I left the store. There were no other customers in the store at the time. Even when trying to communicate with her I was ignored. Update.... Received a message from, "Alex." He/she didn't want to accept responsibility for "one of their best employees," actions. Instead they said she was busy. It was only myself and daughter in the store. I tried initiating communication upon entry and departure to no avail. It takes one simple second to acknowledge a customer. She actually gave eye contact and said nothing. She didn't attempt to. If she can't handle multi-tasking or being busy in an empty store. She should be better trained to do so. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Cassie there when I came in to get stuff for my new puppy and she was so beyond helpful! DO NOT get rats from her weather for feeders or pets!! We got rats for pets from here on several occasions and they ALL HAD MITES! Our friends also got rats months later and they STILL HAD MITES and their rats ended up sick and passing away... even as feeders the mites are bad for your reptile or any animal that is eating it. Also they are kinda expensive for feeders. No Matter what size they are $10! Over priced and in terrible conditions. read more

New store to our area. Very organized. Staff was knowledgable about the products they carried . I was greeted by a primal representative and received a welcomed education, I even bought a few new items. I was also given samples of treats. The prices seemed less than another pet store in town... Thank you healthy pet for moving into the neighborhood I want to add that now I have been coming here about once a week for the past 4 months to buy things for all my animals . My puppy Pippa who is now almost 6 months likes to come in too and pick up a few things . I like all the choices of treats and toys. I started my cats on taste of the wild . I love this store! The people who work there are all very knowledgeable about the things they sell there. My dog has food allergies and the girl who worked there walked right over to 2 brands. After reading thru the ingredients, sure enough neither one had the ingredients that cause problems for my dog. That's important, and I so appreciate their knowledge. So happy that OUR FAVORITE PET STORE moved to the Camarillo area! We've been happily making the short trek to their other locations (Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Agoura) for years, but glad they are now closer to home. My lap/pittie mix, Maggie, was treated like royalty from the moment we walked through the door. She was welcomed with petting, belly rubs, and so many free sample treats that she didn't want to leave! She loved the baked "pumpkin pie" samples so much, that I ended up buying a bag of those --- which is a great thing about treat samples --- because I never would've known she actually liked pumpkin pie! The 2 guys that helped us treated her as if she were their own. They even gave product recommendations, told us about upcoming promos, and signed us up for their free discount program for Canidae (Maggie's food of choice). As a final, lasting impression, they even brought the dog food bags out to our car ---- although I think Maggie started to get excited because she thought they were coming home with us! Aside from the wonderful experience, their prices beat Petco by far, almost $15 less for the same bag of Canidae dog food. Seriously, please support this local business. Unfortunately one experience can change your whole opinion. I can't describe how disappointed I am with my most resent visit. I have been debating about buying a new sprenger collar for my dog. I have been so impressed with healthy pet in camarillo I figure I would buy from them. I specifically asked the employee that day about the collar and how my concern was the size and how my dog would respond. I said if I buy this will I be able to RETURN this with no problems. The employee confidently assured me I could return it with no problems. Two days later I went back to return it. I was told only exchange or refund. I explained the situation and my frustrated and asked for a manager. The girl said she was the manager and there was nothing she could do because it was store policy. I understand the policy but I was also told something very different. I have referred numerous people over the last few months to healthy pet. I have been so please but now I am not sure I will be buying more than my crickets there. I'm so bummed. read more

You are greeted as soon as you walk in, they are willing to help with anything you might need help with, and ALL who work there seem to be knowledgeable regarding any questions you may have. Warning - Healthy Pet may STEAL your money! They stole ours under false warranty promise in my opinion. We bought a pet deterrent product RECOMMENDED by Camarillo Healthy Pet manager, Catalina, with promise they would refund or exchange if it did not work. We followed directions (it said up to 75 SF - our area was about 70 SF) but it did not work. When we returned for refund or exchange with receipt one week later Catalina said they do not refund if it is empty - that was NOT mentioned when we paid for it. We spoke with owner, Darren, who said WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN to leave half in the container if we wanted a refund (never mentioned) and ON PRINCIPLE he will not refund since it was empty despite following all directions. At Healthy Pet, CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. On an earlier date, we bought a pet treat and a few days later tried to return it unopened - they refused to refund then too. HEALTHY PET STOLE OUR MONEY!! PS: The pet deterrent manufacturer willingly offered to refund our money in full, and PetSmart willingly refunded our money on an identical pet treat purchase. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HEALTHY PET - THEY ARE NOT HONORABLE. There are many other pet product stores that are honorable and love their customers - why go to this dishonorable business? read more
