I just called to ask a price of a Dog food brand and the manager wouldn't give me a price because he's scared of competitors. They are having a big sale today- so they have lots of customers in front of them, but he still couldn't blurt out a price, but he and his associate spent over 5 min over the phone talking rudely to a customer. I'm driving over 30 min so wanted to know! So that tells me there's some dishonestly in their pricing for these sales. Go to the Thousand Oaks Healthy Pet Store. They are much nicer and extremely helpful. I just called and they gave me the price in seconds. I will never give that store in Camarillo a dime! read more

Awesome place!! Always super nice and welcoming when I stop by!! My current dog still isn't fond of strangers and they always keep their distance while they offer assistance and I really appreciate that and he does too!! Recently went in to get a bag of food to potentially change my dog's kibble and the gal was super helpful. read more

Spacious store with a variety of natural healthy products. I have a tug toy I bought from here months ago that my power chewer hasn't managed to destroy yet. They are super honest about pros and cons of raw and freeze dried and offer free samples. They are super kind to the shelter dogs I bring in and always offer exceptional service. Try their raw patties and whole minnows read more

Healthy Pet - Happy Anniversary! - Pet Stores Near Me - Camarillo, California

Highly recommended for live feeder mice. Great prices and they've had the sizes I need when I needed them. I'm usually here at off-hours so the store is quiet. Well stocked, mostly cat and dog supplies, but some stuff for other pets as well. The young man behind the counter who helped me with mice last time was polite and professional. I recommend this shop to anyone who is on the prowl for live food. read more

First time coming here. Walked in and asked for assistance and was ignored. Then, went to the counter to check out and was ignored. My daughter and I left the store. There were no other customers in the store at the time. Even when trying to communicate with her I was ignored. Update.... Received a message from, "Alex." He/she didn't want to accept responsibility for "one of their best employees," actions. Instead they said she was busy. It was only myself and daughter in the store. I tried initiating communication upon entry and departure to no avail. It takes one simple second to acknowledge a customer. She actually gave eye contact and said nothing. She didn't attempt to. If she can't handle multi-tasking or being busy in an empty store. She should be better trained to do so. read more

I am so happy we have a healthy pet in my city! I love to support local rather than big brand and especially when it comes to my pets, I want them to have the best. Their customer service is next level and they are really knowledgeable and can guide you to what would be best for you and your pet. I had the pleasure of meeting Cassie there when I came in to get stuff for my new puppy and she was so beyond helpful! I asked her about food, toys, dental, all sorts of stuff and she helped guide me to make the best choice for my puppy by giving me the top best options instead of just showing me one brand and pushing, like I've experienced at other pet stores. 10/10 recommend coming here for any pet needs you have. Thanks Cassie and team for your help! read more

Great location and super friendly. Ron helped me pick out plenty of good stuff for my new puppy and the other girl he was working with (sorry I didn't get her name) were both super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend checking them out with any of your pet needs! Thanks again Ron. My puppy loves the pig ears you picked out! read more

Girl with glasses was super rude. Was my first time in store. I wont be coming back. Why would you treat customers poorly when anyone can just go on amazon in this day and age? Edit: just went to petco and they were super nice! Haha you cant make this stuff up read more

Love this place! They have an assortment of one ingredient human grade dog food that my pup loves! Plus they have a little kitty on staff roaming the store. read more

New store to our area. Very organized. Staff was knowledgable about the products they carried . I was greeted by a primal representative and received a welcomed education, I even bought a few new items. I was also given samples of treats. The prices seemed less than another pet store in town... Thank you healthy pet for moving into the neighborhood I want to add that now I have been coming here about once a week for the past 4 months to buy things for all my animals . My puppy Pippa who is now almost 6 months likes to come in too and pick up a few things . I like all the choices of treats and toys. I started my cats on taste of the wild . I can even get supplies for my chickens too. Nice to come to a one stop. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable about animal products. I also appreciate their suggestions too. read more

Going to Healthy Pet is like the tv show Cheers...the place where everybody knows your name. Can't say enough about how great their customer service is, and great selection of whatever you need to keep your fur babies happy. read more

I love this store! The people who work there are all very knowledgeable about the things they sell there. My dog has food allergies and the girl who worked there walked right over to 2 brands. After reading thru the ingredients, sure enough neither one had the ingredients that cause problems for my dog. That's important, and I so appreciate their knowledge. Beyond dog food, I buy healthy treats for my dog there as well. A truly lovely store. read more

I went in here for the first time today. The staff was wonderful, answered all my many questions and carried the special food I feed my dog with a price comparable to what I pay online. I had a great experience and will be shopping here from now on. I highly recommend them! read more

This place is convenient for everyone because the adults talk and shop then the kids could play with the dog.

So happy that OUR FAVORITE PET STORE moved to the Camarillo area! We've been happily making the short trek to their other locations (Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Agoura) for years, but glad they are now closer to home. My lap/pittie mix, Maggie, was treated like royalty from the moment we walked through the door. She was welcomed with petting, belly rubs, and so many free sample treats that she didn't want to leave! She loved the baked "pumpkin pie" samples so much, that I ended up buying a bag of those --- which is a great thing about treat samples --- because I never would've known she actually liked pumpkin pie! The 2 guys that helped us treated her as if she were their own. They even gave product recommendations, told us about upcoming promos, and signed us up for their free discount program for Canidae (Maggie's food of choice). As a final, lasting impression, they even brought the dog food bags out to our car ---- although I think Maggie started to get excited because she thought they were coming home with us! Aside from the wonderful experience, their prices beat Petco by far, almost $15 less for the same bag of Canidae dog food. Seriously, please support this local business. Camarillo is such a dog-loving community and this pet store is, by far, the best in the area. Located near the the cross-street of Arneill & Ponderosa, in the Vons shopping center. read more

Aubrey was super helpful to us when we were looking for vegan food wet and dry for our three dogs. She really took her time to talk to us about our three dogs and their needs and recommended different options for us and was extremely patient and knowledgeable. She treated us like she personally cared about us and our "kids". read more

Unfortunately one experience can change your whole opinion. I can't describe how disappointed I am with my most resent visit. I have been debating about buying a new sprenger collar for my dog. I have been so impressed with healthy pet in camarillo I figure I would buy from them. I specifically asked the employee that day about the collar and how my concern was the size and how my dog would respond. I said if I buy this will I be able to RETURN this with no problems. The employee confidently assured me I could return it with no problems. Two days later I went back to return it. I was told only exchange or refund. I explained the situation and my frustrated and asked for a manager. The girl said she was the manager and there was nothing she could do because it was store policy. I understand the policy but I was also told something very different. I have referred numerous people over the last few months to healthy pet. I have been so please but now I am not sure I will be buying more than my crickets there. I'm so bummed. read more

I cannot say enough about the amazing staff at the Camarillo store. I feel that overall, customer service took a serious nosedive in the last 10 years...but NOT here! It is a pleasure to give my money to a locally-owned store with exceptional customer service. Like I told the staff (Neely, Tia & Catalina) earlier today...they have a customer for life! Thank-you Healthy Pet! read more

This pet store has the feel of a true family run pet store. You are greeted as soon as you walk in, they are willing to help with anything you might need help with, and ALL who work there seem to be knowledgeable regarding any questions you may have. It is such a nice feeling to be able to talk and discuss any concerns you have with informed adults. When I went in last week, Karl was so very helpful with everything I needed! It is my go-to place for my pets! read more

Warning - Healthy Pet may STEAL your money! They stole ours under false warranty promise in my opinion. We bought a pet deterrent product RECOMMENDED by Camarillo Healthy Pet manager, Catalina, with promise they would refund or exchange if it did not work. We followed directions (it said up to 75 SF - our area was about 70 SF) but it did not work. When we returned for refund or exchange with receipt one week later Catalina said they do not refund if it is empty - that was NOT mentioned when we paid for it. We spoke with owner, Darren, who said WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN to leave half in the container if we wanted a refund (never mentioned) and ON PRINCIPLE he will not refund since it was empty despite following all directions. At Healthy Pet, CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. On an earlier date, we bought a pet treat and a few days later tried to return it unopened - they refused to refund then too. HEALTHY PET STOLE OUR MONEY!! PS: The pet deterrent manufacturer willingly offered to refund our money in full, and PetSmart willingly refunded our money on an identical pet treat purchase. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HEALTHY PET - THEY ARE NOT HONORABLE. There are many other pet product stores that are honorable and love their customers - why go to this dishonorable business? read more
