Over the last 20 years the quality of glasses I have purchased have been poor to medium quality even though they were presented has high quality and very well known brands that I paid high dollar for. I had visited PerSpectacles a few times and talked with David the owner about all the problems I have had in the past. He totally got what I had experienced and explained why I had so many problems and assured me I would be happy with his service. I had recently had a medical eye exam to check the health of my eyes at a very well known large clinic around the valley. My husband and just gotten his glasses at Per spectacles and was extremely happy with the quality so I decided it was time to have my glasses done here. David doesn't take my insurance, but he did give me discounts which was very appreciated. I needed the glasses done within 2 weeks as I was going on a trip and wanted the new glasses and sunglasses for driving. David went out of the way to get them done in a week. When the glasses arrived the prescription did not seem right. I had a feeling this might happen because of the eye exam I had received at the large clinic it was done at. A technician had done the exam and the Optometrist did a quick check of what he had done. UGH! David suggested I see his Optometrist Dr Caruso. Well I was right my prescription was wrong. Dr Caruso is the best, explained everything and assured me I would be very happy with my new prescription and he was right. David again did his magic and was able to get both my glasses done the day before I left for my trip! The professionalism and knowledge of this team is of the best quality I have ever received. This shop is fantastic. My previous two experiences with HMO's and Major Franchises left a skepticism that was hard to shake. First of all, you can fill out your paperwork prior to going in by printing a document from their website. (That way you can research answers to some important questions if you do not recall vital details). As I entered their establishment, it was immediately at ease. I was greeted in a warm and friendly manner by the owner, and was able to see the doctor almost immediately. Every test performed was to ensure the health and status of my eyes and determine exactly what I would need to correct my vision issues. The memory of Fast Food mentality faded and I knew I mattered. I then began the decision process and found the exact style and color of frames I wanted and selected the options for lenses that I really wanted. When I walked out with a receipt in hand, I knew I had found a home for my all of my eye care needs. When I got my glasses days later, they were awesome. If DNA proves out and my children require similar contrivances, I want them to experience this as well. When I reminisce about the days of old and what a Full Service Shop was like, they will not research options for a retirement home for their crazy father. read more

I'm a new customer to PerSpectacles as it was the closest in-network provider for my new insurance. Staff is very pleasant. Me and my daughter had eye exams. I found frames I liked that my insurance fully covered. For my sunglasses, I decided to keep old frames and just get new lenses. The owner suggested much darker lenses than what I previously had, which was a great idea for bright Arizona sun! Glasses were ready within few days, which I can't say about other chain glass places I used in the past! At this smaller, private place you will get much better, faster personalized service. My younger daughter needed specialty frames that only few places carry! The owner of PerSpectacles agreed to place special order and get exact frames I wanted! He took the time to go over all price options for different types of lenses until we picked something I was comfortable with! Again, the glasses were ready within few days! My family and I have been coming to PerSpectacles for years. We have purchased many pairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Groupon brought me to this establishment, but the service, staff and great attitudes have kept us coming back. Just today, David the owner fixed a pair of non prescription sunglasses for me (that I bought online) that my daughter sat on. I was going to throw them away but David, in his words, "I am a God" and I agree, salvaged them. We were in his office to pick up a new pair of beautiful glasses for my adult daughter. David is very knowledgeable and helpful. He patiently explained "progressive" lenses to her. His office manager Linda is efficient, friendly and helpful. Dr. John Castro, the optometrist, is great. He has been examining our eyes for years. He recently recommended Dr Suedekum for my cataracts. I have had the right one removed and having the left one done this next Saturday. So far it's been great and Dr. Castro has been there to follow up. read more

I am not sure where my previous review went but this gives me a chance to update it! David and his staff are beyond amazing! I have had 3 pair of progressive bifocals 2 from Lenscrafters that are useless to read with and the 3rd pair from here. I finally get how bifocals are great. I can use them to read. I give David all the credit for doing the job correctly. In addition my husband got a pair of glasses at the same time I did but he just couldn't bring himself to get bifocals. When he couldn't read with the new glasses (thought it was amazing for distance vision tho) my job went ito a lot of overtime and I could't get back to get bifocal lenses for him. David gave up part of his Sunday afternoon to help us. I repeat HE CAME IN ON HIS DAY OFF! It amazes me in this day and age that you could get such great customer service. I just picked up my new glasses yesterday and I am very happy. I wore them out last night with my friends and got so many comments, both from my friends and from strangers. For me, glasses are a part of my wardrobe and really reflect who I am. These new glasses are a perfect fit. I told the optician what I was looking for and he helped me find several different options in the store. They were a little pricey, but the quality is excellent and worth spending the extra money on. I have bought glasses at eye masters and costco in the past and they have always broken or the color wears off after I wear them for awhile. I can feel the difference in the quality of these glasses compared to the others. Per Spectacles is a great place to get eyewear, I will be returning soon for more fun frames and sunglasses too. Well we went back again yesterday and was again treated like family. Dr. Castro saw me and was great with the kids, always a super time. Wow, What can I say but we had a great experience. We highly recommend this place. Dr. Watkins was terrific with the kids and Dave and Staff were really nice and helpful with our frame choices. I am going to recommend several of my employees to use their insurance here, too they give extras for contact users. My wife came home with a full bag of solutions. Back again this past month for another pair and found a Great pair of Alain MIkli for half price..... Thanks again guys for outstanding service.... I am so happy I found PerSpectacles Hearing & Eye Solutions! After a disappointing experience at the last place I went to, coming here was a breath of fresh air. The owner, David, and his wife, Linda, are absolutely wonderful. From the moment I walked in, they were incredibly welcoming and truly treated me like family. John, the optometrist, is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly during my exam. The customer service here is top-notch. They even gave me a free bottle of Advanced Lens Cleaner and told me to bring it back anytime for a refill! It's those small, thoughtful touches that really set them apart. I started bringing my daughter here almost two years ago before she started kindergarten. Dave was amazing with helping us pick out the kids "indestructible" frames. He was patient, took the time to fit her correctly; they even had a kids room for my other child to play in while he waited. As for the lenses? They really are indestructible! My daughter has bent them, twisted them, fallen on them, stepped on them...you name it. Dave has been great about fixing them every time we come in, with a smile and a sticker for my daughter. Were the frames a little pricey? Yes, but you get what you pay for. The frames have paid for themselves several times over and you can't put a price on the great service. read more

I've been wearing glasses for over 35 years, and finally admitted that I needed progressives. I had heard horror stories from other people who had tried to adjust to their progressive glasses and who usually abandoned them. David not only produced progressive lenses that I had NO trouble adjusting to whatsoever, he managed to fit my lenses into wireless frames, something the "other [cheaper, conveyor belt service] guys" had always said was impossible. David also helped me pick out my new frames (both regular and sunglasses) and I made my selection in a record 5 minutes. No need to try on every pair in the store. I love my new glasses and my sunglasses too, and recommend Per Spectacles highly. read more

The doctor was friendly, and he seemed to know what he was talking about. The front- desk guy (the one who takes the calls, sets up appointments and stuff...is there an official title for them?) seemed a little rude over the phone, but when I went there, I realized he's just one of those friendly, I'm-your-neighbor-so-I'm-gonna-treat-you-like-you're-already-family guys, who doesn't really get boundaries...but good-hearted and kind. The only reason I took a star off is because they seemed a little overpriced and even though I saw really good quality samples laid out in their bathroom and stuff, they only gave me some crappy brand samples that I couldn't use because they hurt by eyes. My wife and I have just left PerSpectacles with our new glasses. Wow, I am so impressed with their quality. We both have very high prescriptions and always have a hard time finding the right frames. Dr Castro and David were so helpful and educated that making a choice this time was pleasant and easy. Found a groupon voucher that was a great deal and that was the main reason I went to perspectacles...I thought that was going to be the best part but after going to the shop speaking to david and his wife and experiencing the great customer service the groupon was just a cherry on top. David explained my eyesight issues in a way anyone could understand and took me step by step on how my eyes are working and how my new lenses would help correct my vision...and on top of all that they actually had frames that fit my face all at a great price...I reccomend anyone to go to Perspectacles they will be just as happy as I was when I left. read more

I was compelled to leave this review after reading the last few reviews that clearly were not and could not be true. Our family has been going to Per-spectacles for over 19 years and have worked with all of the staff. We have always been treated like family and have never witnessed anything inappropriate during our many many visits. I walked into this store on a whim...I didn't realize I needed prescription glasses. David, the owner was able to get me right in to see the doctor. I picked out two super unique lenses one everyday pair and one sun glasses, one of which was totally covered by my insurance. I love my new glasses as everything seems much more clear to me. I can't recommend PerSpectacles highly enough (give me a sixth star, here). Great, friendly staff. Always VERY helpful and they stand behind their product. I had a lens prescription from another doctor and called David at PerSpectacles with a request that he put the prescription in some antique frames I already owned. He knows how to work on antique frames and did a great job. The pricing wasn't cheap, but it was certainly fair. I highly recommend this company. read more
