Eye Priority is the best place for you. Amazing staff, amazing services including visual rehabilitation, amazing frame selection, doctors that care, and prices you can afford. I've been coming to Eye Priority for around six years now. They got me some amazing prescription glasses AND prescription sunglasses. Both were fashionable and extremely durable. My prescription glasses had blue light filtering, scratch-resistant lenses which were a godsend for me (an IT Technician) sitting in front of computers all day. Eventually, I was gifted surgical eye correction and so I no longer needed glasses, but Eye Priority once again came through! They had my prescription sunglasses repurposed into non-prescription with new scratch-resistant UV-bocking lenses and I've been using the same ones for FOUR YEARS! I still come here for my eye exams, because of the courtesy and professionalism of everyone that works here! So if you think you've seen a better place for your vision, you need to have your eyes checked... by Eye Priority! read more

This is a great practice. I've been coming here for years. Started seeing Dr. Kelly de Simone. She's great and has now specialized and doesn't see regular patients. But, she has two other docs that do. The staff is typically friendly and accommodating. On this visit they were great, friendly and helpful. I saw Dr. Joseph Bailey for the first time. He's been with the practice for about a year and a half. What a great guy. Very down to earth and easy to talk to. Competent and caring and invested in both the practice and his patients welfare. It was nice to have a practitioner that was so friendly and communicative. The technician who ran the gambit of initial tests before seeing the doctor was the same, friendly and communicative. Even the optician you I met with at the end of my visit was very friendly and knowledgeable about eyewear. Even though I didn't need any, we had a great conversation about types of lenses and options. Even the receptionist was friendly and helpful getting me checked in, to the doctor, and checked out. Overall, I find the staff here to be friendly and caring, the doctors to be competent and communicative and the whole process works as well as anyone could hope. You can definitely skip out on this place. The issue wasn't even the cost of my glasses & contacts (yes it is very pricey for just avenge glasses/contacts) but it was the fact that my Op practically called me bald. I was seeing Dr. Monica Sawitzke for a little over a year now and the last time I saw her was in July of 2021 so I was due for another eye exam. This only confirmed my suspicions when I received an email stating that I was due for another eye exam, that's when I called to schedule my follow up appointment just to see how my eyes were doing. At the time of my appointment, everything was going smoothly until we got to the Visual Field part of the exam. This is when Dr. Monica got up & walked towards me in full frontal view of my face to further evaluate my eyes for any possible problems such as eye diseases. *** Now for reference I'm a very provincial person so confrontation is never part of my character. Prior to that follow up appointment, I had just been diagnosed with a medical condition called Hyperthyroidism that causes me to lose weight (unintentionally) alongside with thinning of my hair. It's now one of my BIGGEST insecurities since I used to have long healthy hair & now it's just a bundle of short brittle hair. To emphasize a bit further, I was extremely anxious as I knew my hair did look a bit different since she last saw me. **** As she was looking at me, she sort of made this face that I'll never forget (almost like a smirk) & said "the good thing about being a tad hairless on top is that you'll never have to worry about having a bad hair day." BASICALLY CALLING ME BALD, my heart dropped so fast you'd think I died because how speechless she left me. Because I knew exactly what she meant by that unwanted statement. The audacity that a woman has to even say that to another person, not just as a customer, but a human being left me feeling humiliated & insulted. I honestly didn't know what to say to her cause I felt hurt by her side comment and that she even laughed afterwards only to intensify my insecurities. Just the mere thought in fear of just being in her physical presence has given me a palpable feeling of nervosity that I will hear that asperity tone of hers, humiliating all over again. In other words, I WILL NEVER EVER BE STEPPING FOOT INTO THAT JOKE OF A BUSINESS AGAIN! read more

Hands down the best place in town for all your eye health. They're extremely nice. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The doctor nailed my prescription out of the gate. I've had problems in this area at other places. It's always a challenge because I wear progressives and one eye is much worse than the other. However, the prescription I got at Eye Priority is so good that I sometimes stop what I'm doing and appreciate how clear my vision is. They also have a really large selection of Maui Jim glasses and sunglasses, as well as other brands like Oakley, etc. But the Maui Jim collection was impressive. I worked with Claire and Andrea to get a new pair of frames and lenses. I had a couple issues along the way but they both bent over backwards to resolve them. The first issue was a mistake at the lab, and Claire understood exactly what needed to be done to correct the lenses. I was really impressed with her knowledge and confidence. She knew exactly what was off and had them remade right away. The result was perfect! The next issue was just a personal thing. I decided I wanted a thinner lens, but it turned out my insurance didn't want to pay to remake them. So Andrea stepped in and was able to work with a different lab who was willing to remake them for free! Amazing! There's no way you'd get that level of care with some online place. I've been advised that once you find a good eye place, make sure to always return. Even if you move away, it's worth the drive to get the best care possible. I had an appointment here today and was blown away. The receptionist, financial coordinator and Dr Monica were absolutely amazing! I scratched my cornea late last night and called this office in tremendous pain this morning. They were open at 7am and got me in at 8:30am. I had literally less than a 30 second wait time from entering their front door to shaking the Dr's hand in the treatment room. Talk about excellent customer service! Dr Monica was so thorough and caring. She fixed me up and and I was back at work by 9:05am. My pain is significantly less. I will come to this office from now on and recommend anyone who needs an optometrist to check them out! read more

This is a way overdue review for me. I have been seeing Dr. de Simon for over 12 years now. I relocated out of state for a few years and came back to AZ just for a appointment. I won't go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my vision needs. The staff is beyond amazing as well. I always communicate through email and I ask A LOT of questions and I have always felt heard and not dismissed. They will go out of there way in EVERY aspect of your care and comfort. I had the most amazing experience here. Recently got new insurance and found that this place was contracted under my plan. The entire experience from that first call with the receptionist to make my appointment, to the eye exam with Dr. Bailey and to getting my new glasses was seamless. They employ a truly wonderful staff who make you feel as though you are family. I also forgot to use my HSA card and had to call the office to do a refund and rebill and they were able to do this so easily for me under 5 mins so I would not have to go through the headache of submitting paperwork for reimbursement! Started going here two years ago and have had such a positive experience I now have my kids and husband coming! Friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff. The doctor on every exam asks questions and intently listens. Personal "how are you" questions and is genuinely wanting to know your situation while I'm sure connecting some of that to the condition of your vision. My husband and I have had a great experience coming to Eye Priority! I really appreciate the time Dr. Monica Sawitzke takes with me, she is very patient & thorough! I wanted to try contacts which requires patience and several attempts. I had a weird travel schedule that restricted my availability and she worked me in to her schedule. By the time I had to leave for the summer, I was wearing contacts (yay!) and Dr. Monica even gave me a hug (so personable : ) ) The staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. Cris in the optical shop intercepted us as we were on our way to Cos*** to get a better price and she showed us they have competitive prices plus 2-year lens replacement plans for my hubby (which we have already used once within 1 month). She was also very patient with my daily calls at first when trying contacts to answer my questions. She even patiently answered my friends's questions who wasn't even a patient. I also found the post exam tech very helpful and knowledgable. I went to their Dry Eye Clinic after having dry and painful eyes. My Meibomian glands looked deteriorated from the initial inspection and review of my pictures. After 3 treatments they were able to get deep clogging out of my eyes and restore my glands to a much better level. My eyes feel and look much better now and the soreness and hurting is gone. I am very pleased with the results and they staff there is friendly and caring. read more

I needed a new prescription to replace my computer reading glasses. I read reviews and chose Eye Priority because they are highly rated, took my insurance and they are close to my house. I explained to Dr Monica Sawitzke I did not need a more powerful prescription, just a replacement for the existing. She went through all the tests and prescribed a more powerful prescription. I returned to the office and spoke to, Claire, one of the "retail" staff selling frames, explaining I wanted a less powerful prescription and walked out with prescription #2. I had glasses made and found they gave me headaches after 30 minutes. When I returned to the office again, I spoke to the Dr and explained I only wanted a replacement for reading glasses and was frustrated that this was now my 3rd visit, I was concerned about my time and costs, and that I was given something else twice before. At this point, Dr Sawitzke grew visibly angry, snatched the glasses out of my hands, and stated that if I had used their offices to make the glasses (2-3x more expensive), it would have all been taken care of. I asked, "so the only way your prescription will work is if I have glasses made at your office?" To which she replied (with attitude), "fine, I'll give you exactly what you are asking for." Her response made me very uncomfortable, like, how dare I question her, and I no longer felt she was working for my best interests. I left without a new prescription. After this experience I will not be returning to Eye Priority, due mostly to Dr Sawitzke's unwillingness to understand my issue, failure to attempt even basic "customer service", and her horrible "bedside manner". read more

Super bummed about my last experience. I ordered and paid for a new pair of glasses on February 14th. I was told they had to order the frames and it would take 2 weeks. Two weeks later on February 28th I called and they said that they hadn't received them yet but they would be shipped out on Monday March 4th and I should have them by Friday the 8th. I was never contacted on or before Friday the 8th. I called again on Tuesday March 12th and was told they had been mailed out on Monday the 11th and they should have them either the 13th or 14th. Nobody called me. So, I called today March 15th and I was told first that they have had my frames since March 1st but the lenses hadn't come in. But also that the frames were on back order?? They said the lenses should be Saturday when they aren't open and that I should have them no later than Monday the 18th of March. Today March 15th, I was also told they would call me right back so that they could look into it further. I didn't hear back for over an hour and when I called back on my cell it eventually went to voicemail. I called a second time with a land line and they answered right away. I'm not accusing anyone of avoiding my call but as a customer I totally feel that because I already paid I am not a "Priority". This is a bummer because I really like my Eye Dr. I've been going to her for years. I probably won't come back because of the poor communication from the office. **Update** I was guaranteed Friday March 15th that my glasses would be ready today Monday March 18. I waited until 3pm to get a call. I never received a call. I called and again I am told they are not ready. Again I was told they would be ready tomorrow. This time, Tuesday March 19th. I was told that I would be refunded the cost of the glasses which is great but I'm still disappointed that I had to call to get this information. read more

My seven-year-old son was in need of an appointment to see if he had any vision impairment. We chose Eye Priority because of previous reviews we've heard and pleased customers. We also personally knew someone who works for the company and they are a very hard working trustworthy person. We are glad that we made the decision to go to Eye Priority because our son did need glasses and he is very happy with the cool pair that he got to choose himself. I have never been easy to please when it comes to eyewear. I had perfect vision until I turned 40, when my near vision went down hill. I have been going to the optometry inside Costco for years and decided to try a local practice. I was recommended to see Dr. Fors. Walking in, I was warmly greeted and offered complimentary coffee. There was even a sign with my name on it welcoming me which was a really nice personal touch! Most optometrists I have been to (Costco, Lens Crafters, including other independent optometries) spent less than 15 minutes doing an eye exam. Dr. Fors was superb! She was caring, patient, and very thorough. This is the first place I felt they genuinely cared about my vision. Not once did I feel rushed or was treated like a number (quickly seen then out). This was also the first year I did not carry vision insurance and was pleasantly surprised at the affordable rates and quality of care. I will be back next year for sure! read more

At 40, my eyesight suddenly changed and I had difficulty reading. I had been seeing Dr. Sawitzke for years, so I was confident she could help me. Boy was I wrong! She changed my contact prescription, which made my vision worse. I followed up and she changed the Rx again. Still not good. I made another appointment and she said "tell me what you want me to do." Seriously??? I literally had to say "you're the doctor, you tell me what to do. I just want to be able to see." That was the last time I went to Eye Priority. I switched to Dr. Yamamoto at Arizona Vision and he was able to put me in contacts that allowed me to see again! read more

We are patients who drive 2-3 hrs one way (from Flagstaff) because that is just how amazing EYE PRIORITY is. What a stroke of good fortune to have been referred years ago, for we have experienced a level of care & expertise that has been truly life-changing. I had been misdiagnosed by doctors in 3 countries, & 4 states over nearly 6 decades but thanks to Dr DeSimone's astute diagnostic skills and perseverance to get it 'just right' in my prescription, I can SEE, concentrate for hours at a computer screen, & do things I never could do before like enjoy car rides and not have eye pain at the end of the day. The first time I filled out their extensive questionnaire & Dr D asked follow up questions, I almost wept with relief--someone realized that my quirks & aversions were actual symptoms! The office staff consistently bends over backwards to help us, the fittings are precisely, scientifically , & patiently done, & eyewear is fashionable & affordable. This is a decent but expensive eyeware outfit . The doctors aren't special , the prices are over the top(and I have worked in this field before!) but the worse is they can't or won't fit you in for an exam within 2 weeks . My experience here began wonderful with Dr Fahr. Then went way downhill after she moved to Cali. New Dr for my Daughter was humiliating. Dr basically accuses her of not taking care of her contacts, sleeping in them and asked for me, her mom not to be present for exam. Really? My daughter is the most kind, considerate and conscientious girl I know. Takes great care in ALL that she does. She is 16yo, no, not driving yet, as we are working on the funding for continued driving lessons and a car. So now, she is Embarrassed, that we couldn't afford to get her in for contacts sooner and feels like she has done something terribly wrong..... wow. Our family is doing our best financially to get our kids all that they need. What they DO NOT NEED is an eye dr treating them like they have neglected-their eye care (minors so...?) and make them feel like they have done wrong. Unacceptable.
