So disappointed in Eyeglass World. After years of awesome service, I had trouble with my most recent glasses/prescription, making me nauseous. I was never called (SanTan Location) to let me know my glasses were in. 2 weeks later, when I called I was told "they're behind schedule" So, I decided to switch back to the Tempe (Priest/Elliott) store where we had gone in the past when I had trouble with the glasses. So, I went in last week to have them check my glasses -- they never took them from me and referred to my doctor. (Kyle) I went to MY Dr, who slightly altered the prescription and I went back to the Tempe store. (Both The Dr and another employee confirmed the prism was incorrect causing my problems) Kyle is who I saw again today. He blamed the doctor and me for the wrong prism and tried to intimidate me. Didn't work. I got a new pair of glasses replaced with new frames but I will no longer give Eyeglass Workd my business after this. Kyle had the gall to ask if I went to to a licensed optician and then told me all of his qualifications (why does this matter?).. He said if this doesnt work we are out of options and Eyeglass World would no longer be able to assist me, My Dr would need to change the rx (I trust what my Dr says more..) I told him he was at risk of losing my business next year but he was unapologetic so by the time we had walked out of the door, we both decided our eyeglasses wont come from here anymore. The tech was sweet. The techs do t ask any kind of questions regarding your style or type of glasses (metal, plastic). They do not measure your face nor the glasses to see if they are the right fit. Was told ready in one week, then told 2 weeks. No call, no text. I called and they had been ready 72 hours after ordering them. Went Xmas Eve for pickup and they were closed. No phone message when I called, no notice on the door and nothing in the internet. An hour and a half drive for nothing. Now, another drive and wondering if they're open. After many years of using another eyeglass company for all my exams and glasses, twice in the past few years it was sold. I started to look for another place due to changes in the doctors, service and personal touches that are gone I choose Eyeglass World on a recommendation from my son. He has been getting prescription safety glasses for work from them for a few years and has been very happy with the exam, service and quality of the glasses. The doctor was very personablel, patient, listened to all of my concerns, and did not hesitate to repeat a few steps to be sure everything was correct. They have a good selection of frames varied prices, some were on sale and Kyle made a few suggestions that was very helpful to finalize the purchase. I actually spent less here, because they don't insist on the dialation (unless the exam indicates it is needed) and the lenses were less than the other business. Overall, I am very satisfied with my visit and will be going back, also would recommend Eyeglass World to anyone that needs an eye exam or glasses. They have great styles and choices of newer selections and frames for everybody to choose from. Not to mention the customer service is wonderful. Especially Catrice (and the rest of the team), she was exceptionally great at helping customers and me. My recommendation is to get the one-year warranty as mishaps can occur. Disappointed! I went in August 4th to order two pairs of prescription glasses and sunglasses. I received one pair of glasses within two days since it was just the basic lens. Both my other pair and sunglasses were to take 7 to 10 days because they were transition and polarized lenses. On August 14th I called to check if they were ready, I was told they were not. And they said any day now. I once again called on the 18th to check which again they said they weren't ready and I asked if they'd be ready soon. Which they then said "any day now." To which I then replied okay "ill wait for you guys to call me then." Today over 3 weeks later I decided to call again since I haven't received a call from them. And it's been a while. I call they said they are ready and supposedly they called me on the 15th! Which did not happen. I let the associate know I don't have any calls from them and they said " oh well sorry but they're ready." This does not make up for the fact that I've now been waiting 3 weeks and a half for my glasses. I've attached a photo of my call log to their number which shows no missed call from them nor a voicemail from them. They never called! You can also clearly see on my call log I called on the 18th. What I don't understand is why they wouldn't call again as it now been two weeks later from their 'supposed call.' I would think they would find it weird that I haven't gone to pick them up for so long! Absolutely disappointing! I came to eyeglass world because I had a good experience with the company when I lived in Las Vegas. Goes to show not every location is the same. I would also like to add they used my same account from Las Vegas and I have the exact same phone number so it's not like I've changed it. $268 dollars later (what i spent there) and I'm starting to wish I went somewhere else. My husband and I walked in to look at glasses. From the second we walked in, we regretted it. The lady who worked there was very rude and treated us like second class citizens. Her whole demeanor and attitude was bad. I still looked at a few glasses just to give them a chance but the glasses were made of cheap plastic. I made an appt for 11:45 since it was my first time here i didnt know we can just do walk ins. I already had a prescription ready and picked out glasses. They cancelled my appt due to me already having a prescription and told me to wait i would be next soon. There was 3 people ahead of me. I know everyone has a different experience. Mine was 100% awesomeness. They were a little busy when my husband and I got there. I of course immediately wanted to look at frames. And my lil face mainly only fits kid frames. So it's not like I had a ton of choices or would take long to select. We were early. Well I was immediately directed to go to back. Then I found out my prescription and vision had drastically changed in barely two years. Hello trifocals. Yes there a thing! Now I know that's not huge but the combination of that left me with a bit of what I like to call ..... buzzkill. I was a little bummed. But... christy came on the scene and helped me out. First time here at the Tempe location and it totally blew away my expectations. From cleanliness to the safety protocols when looking for frames... this locations is on it. Called initially and was able to get a next day appointment. I saw Dr. Lindsey Perry and she was fantastic. I have very small prescriptions but have headaches/migraines. She really listened to me and took care of my optical needs. She is very experienced and knowledgeable. Really have not seen an eye doc like her. I worked with Kristie for check in (they do take temps and have you use the same pen for paperwork- really organized for safety with COVID) and she helped me finalize my pick of frames. I did not have insurance at this time so I paid out of pocket. Less than $180 for my exam, 2 pairs of glasses with lenses and the glare free coating. Just really top notch. read more

I will no longer have Eyeglass World make my lenses. They never get it right. When you bring the lenses back because you can see better without the lenses they say they made them right, but for an additional $200 they can remake them. I had the same experience at the Mesa location. I have the same exact lens made at my doctor's office with the same prescription and I can see. When I tell them I want the lenses just like the ones I have they say they are, yet I can't see out of the ones that Eyeglass World made. This same thing happened to my sister. Kate was awesome, she was very knowledgeable and attentive to my eyeglass needs. She gave me the pros and cons to the types of frames and lens' available and that would suit my needs. Kate also let me know about the eyeglass insurance which had excellent benefits. I bought two pair of eyeglasses. One prescription clear pair and the other prescription sunglasses. My 81 yr old husband needed new glasses so we set up appointment to be checked! Everything went smoothly and they are practicing safe Covid measures including a temperature check. He had his eye exam and since he has a cataract in one eye and will need surgery later on the optometrist did not push us into expensive glass frames but showed us their selection of 2 pairs for $78, which is what we chose. I received EXEMPLARY service from each department I went to. Let's start with "Dr. Moen". His sense of humor yet attention to detail were so refreshing. "Osiris" was the representative who helped us with our final selection of frames and lenses. She was patient and extremely kind and professional. Finally, I needed a little more detail and understanding on my prescription after leaving the store. I called and spoke with the Manager, "Mike". He thoroughly explained my prescription, what to expect, and made comparisons that truly helped me better understand. His concern and care were very apparent and I left that store soooo IMPRESSED. They definitely took the time to explain clearly and plainly why I was having difficulty with the first pair for the whole lot better vision. They also offer a very good selection of frames at a reasonable price. I picked up two pairs. For one regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses, it was $600 with insurance which is very reasonable. I've never written a negative review, but it has officially become necessary. I took my 12 year old daughter for an exam. When we received the glasses, they were so wrong that my daughter couldn't even walk straight. I returned them and they modified the prescription. The second pair of glasses were equally as bad. My daughter did not want to return because the man who assisted her had just returned from his smoke break without washing hands. The smell gave her a migraine, as he was in fact touching her face. I made an appointment at a different facility for a second opinion. The reason she couldn't walk straight is because the prescription was so unbelievably wrong. My daughter really liked the frames from eyeglass world, and her vision has been so messed up that we needed glasses quickly, so I ate the cost from eyeglass world and used the eyeglass world frames with her new lenses instead of returning them for my money back. The office manager was great in assisting me with my first return, but that's irrelevant when my child's ability to see clearly is the goal. The new doctor also indicated that the eyeglass world doctor noted in my daughter's file that she is at risk for glaucoma. The new doctor said it is protocol to discuss that with the patient if you're putting it in their file. Thankfully the eyeglass world doctor didn't burden us with a false alarm, as the new doctor said it was absolutely not true. The new doctor informed us to simply be aware that my daughter has always had an enlarged optical nerve so it doesn't raise concern when she's an adult. read more

The general manager selling us contacts was demeaning and disrespectful, all with the most plastic fake smile on his face. It took us five months to get the brand of contacts we wanted and he kept claiming that their brand was the same as the ones we wanted, and the only difference was the box cover and name on the outside. Absolute lies, because when we finally got the brand we've been asking for for the past five months they worked PERFECTLY. No dryness, no adjusting needed, fit perfectly. Not to mention, they've scammed us by claiming to not find our vision insurance and charged full price for a while instead of using our insurance. We double checked and found that we were covered for what we needed after a while of getting scammed. Do NOT trust their sales staff, or believe for a moment that they can't find your insurance. Doctor Perry is good and there has been no bad experiences there, but when you get to the sales people they're trained to be as slimy and scummy as possible. This store's sales system is highly unethical and predatory, and have to fight through lies and gaslighting to get something other than their terrible line of product. read more

Took my son in to get contacts at the Priest location. In order for him to get the contacts he had to have a lesson on how to put them in and have the prescription finalized by the doctor. I asked why we couldn't do it then since we were there for the appointment (this is something that is done after the exam , I wear contacts, I get it) and there was not only the doctor we saw but two other staff members with her talking in the back and very clearly not working ( sitting, laughing, chatting, no customers back there what so ever they were tending to, okay maybe one of the three was prepping papers or something) during our WHOLE check out process. Kira, the staff member checking us out told us she was the ONLY person who can do it and they are very short staffed. The other team member available who potentially could do this lesson had only been there for a month and has not been taught how to give the lesson. This would have been a great teaching moment for this staff member! Oh, and the manager is out of town. Not that I cared, I didn't ask to see the manager I had simply asked why we couldn't get the lesson done today and if it was really needed. So now we are waiting a week and half later to FINALLY get this lesson and move forward with contacts for my son. Being a working individual my only options of 11 or 2 are a bit difficult to work with. It was a pathetic excuse all the way around and absolutely terrible customer service. Kira may be the only person available to give this lesson but overall it looks like they are doing a terrible job with time management and training their staff to work efficiently and create a better customer experience. Fingers crossed there is some training done so that other customers don't have to deal with such a nonsense situation. I did have issues previously with them that I overlooked (they did a terrible job explaining options for glasses that turned into a back and forth mess, been wearing glasses for 15 years, not new to the game) but now I think it is time to move on. upon entrance i was greeted with friendliness even though i look outlandish :) my intake receptionist was so friendly and explained the eyedrops for dilation and the payments to me perfectly before I proceeded so there was no confusion when the bill was due :) My Doctor... There just isn't enough time or lines to say how funny genuine charismatic and cultured she was! if she wasn't helping us regular people adjust our eyes, she definitely would be in a star in any British role she wanted! she made me laugh while being very thorough with my exam and making sure that my first ever experience was informative and unforgettable :) The selection of glasses and the method that they used in order to keep social distancing and safe handling was perfection, I think they set the standard for cleanliness and the best methods used for not spreading germs :) every receptionist there made an impression on me and made me feel like a important customer, and although it was so long ago that I forget the names of the three that stand out the most to me are my Doctor Who worked my eyes and funny-bone :) The very dynamic beautiful and spiritually sound African Queen with glasses and a smile that could move the clouds to uncover the sun :) and the taller caucasian gentleman with glasses who even after my payment fell victim to the information age still kept my prescription kept my date of pick up and a very nicely explained to me the difference between bank cards and prepaid cards attached to applications. To be completely honest I was oblivious that some cards could not be used in some places! in a nutshell I left eyeglass World smarter than I came in seeing more clearly than I ever have and smiling more than any one human being should be allowed :) I can't wait to see you all again for my adjustments! read more

They require you to make changes to your appointment at least 24 hours in advance but they called me three hours before my scheduled appointment to cancel an appointment I made a month in advance, all the while sending me seven text and email reminders, including a text confirmation the day before, to which I responded by text in the affirmative, and one text reminder the day of. Their reason was "no doctors available today." Okay, so why did they schedule me a month in advance on a day no doctors would be available and how did they not know until three hours before my appointment? My appointment was originally for a Monday that is NOT a holiday. Looks suspiciously more like the doctors wanted to extend their weekend. Unprofessional and no respect for their customers' time and schedules. Is this a power play, like, they are the healthcare professionals and therefore more important and powerful and can dictate the rules and terms the customer must play by but are not held accountable to the same rules???! read more
