Who appeared to be untrained said she could not find the Dr signature on the prescription, she was unable to sell me a pair of designer glasses with polarized progressive lenses. Cost around $1000. This is for the optometrist in Lenscrafters. We went here because Lenscrafters is located around the country and felt it would be convenient. We needed a contact lens prescription. The first visit they do the examination and then say they do not have any contacts with that prescription so we have to come back in 1 week. And they do not give me the prescription. The optometrist goes on to tell my son that you should not wear contacts more than 12 hours because of "increased risk for eye infections." The next week we come back and the contacts are fine, however, this time he tells me that you should not wear contacts more than 9-10 hours. So in 1 week he changed his story. First, everyone wears contacts for longer than 9 hours. For people who work 9am-5pm that is 9 hours. Second, there is no study or evidence or National recommendation showing that wearing contacts longer than 9-10 hours increases your risk for eye infection. There are studies showing you should not wear your contacts over night. However, there is no study showing a duration proven to increase your risk for eye infections. He then refused to give me the contact lens prescription because he stated "it is our standard to have you come in 3 times before I release your prescription. This is standard for all optometrists." I found this strange because the assistant the prior week said the prescription would release the prescription once the contacts were tried on. The optometrist denied this. So I called 3 other optometrists in the area and 2 others in other states that I frequent and they all said that the prescription is released after at most 2 visits but normally one visit. I also found out that this optometrist is more expensive than other optometrists. I was ready to leave and just make an appointment at another optometrist for another eye examination because it really was not worth the headache of dealing with this person. Then the optometrist said he would "make an exception and release the prescription." However, he warned me that the prescription "was only good for the brand of contact lens that they sell." So this optometrist: 1. Changed his mind about how long you should wear contacts from 12 hours to 9-10 hours. Again neither is true based on studies, evidence, or recommendations. 2. He stated that it is standard practice to have 3 visits before a contact lens prescription is released. 3. He stated that his prescription is only for the brand of contact lens that they sell. I'm sure other people have been to this place and gotten their prescription in 1 or 2 visits which would support what I am saying above that they have inconsistencies in their practice. read more

Paid a pretty penny for new prescription lenses for my Tory Burch sunglasses, as well as, the warranty replacement for scratches or broken lenses. Had to use the warranty after lenses got scratched and the replacement lenses they put in were not the same quality as original! The "coating" is cracking! Never have seen anything like it before! So i had an appointment today at this LensCrafters. I got there a little bit early and filled out the paperwork and waited quietly for my appointment. Everything was going as normal. Just before my appointment the receptionist comes up to me and explains the charges for today's service. I agree to the fees and provide my credit card. She runs the card through this "Square" payment device they use. It comes back as declined. I know that there is more than enough money on the card to accommodate this nominal fee. Thinking ok maybe the card is defective or whatever i give her my debit card to run through. Again declined. Again, i know there is no reason for the card to be declined. I'm not broke and there was money to cover this. She turns to another associate and he tries to run the debit card and again declined. He tells me he is going to try to manually enter the info into the system. I ask him to use the credit card i originally intended on using. He agrees and instead of "manually" entering the info, he does something on the computer and then tries to swipe the card again. Guess what, declined. At this point I'm getting angry. There is no need for these card to be declined. So just for giggles i open the bank app on my phone. Guess what i see...... 2 pending charges from LensCrafters on my credit card. Then i go to my checking account and see 2 charges from LensCrafters where the money is already deducted from my account. I make the associate aware that the money has already been taken from my account in quadrupole. He is on the phone with tech support then this guy has the audacity to ask me to see my account on my phone so he can see the status of the charges. Did this moron really expect me to let him see my bank account information. I was appalled. At this point i went into my account, flagged all 4 charges as fraudulent activity and told them to cancel my appointments and to shred any information they have on me. For those of you that use LensCraftees at the Chandler Fashion Center location, may God help you. It is no wonder the primary doctor there left to a new location. Hopefully their customers that stay will not have to deal with the incompetent staff and services they claim to provide in the highest care. read more

LensCrafters side and the optometrist side are both slimy. Everything they did was to try and bait and switch me to make a quick buck. I will never return there and strongly advise anyone else to stay away. Terrible experience and even after my visit there, they keep giving me reasons to never return. First, I call to see if they accept my insurance for eye exam, contacts, and glasses (my insurance gave credits for both contacts and glasses in the same year). I was told yes so I booked an appointment. Show up to my appointment and had to wait 20+ minutes while they found my insurance. The eye doctor side told me they found it and to head back for my exam. After my exam I went to pay for a year of contacts and the price seemed really high. I asked if that was taking my insurance into consideration to which I was then told they don't take my insurance so I paid $150 for my eye exam and they tried having me pay full cost of $400 for contacts. I asked them why they told me they take my insurance before the exam and are just now bringing it up after the exam. They said the LensCrafters side takes it but not the optometrist side. So I can get a discount on my glasses but not on my contacts. I let it slide as it already happened and no changing it but I was pretty upset with that. Just a slimy move to make a quick buck, but it won't be a returning buck tell ya that. I go to the LensCrafters side, pick out glasses, they run my insurance, fit me for it, and I paid everything that insurance didn't cover about $215. Point is they covered all charges with me, I approved them and then paid. Now every single week I get a bill in the mail from them saying I owe them $70. I reached out telling them that was an error and they said it's not and there were charges that were never brought up to me in store. Again just another slimy move to make a quick buck, but that's all they will ever get. I will never give them my business, and will make it a point to sway away any friends, family, or anyone for that matter to stay away from this trap business. I still needed contacts so I reached out to Visionworks less than a mile away from this trap business. They found my insurance right away. Said if I did my eye exam through them it would have been $20 because they accept my insurance, and I think I ended up paying $20 out of pocket for contacts after rebate. Mauricio and Branard are so exceptionally positive and helpful to everyone I see them interact with, not just me. Lenny is the manager who empowers them, as well as Melissa. ALL have gone out of there way to accommodate my requests, without even asking why or indicating somehow what a special request I might have made. Without fail, at least the four of them are amazing a provide excellent customer service for things you wouldn't even think to ask about! Mauricio found a pair of frames that had been discontinued that I needed to use the warranty on. I called and checked off, and if somehow some pair ended up somewhere, and they worked and had no success, but we're so polite when I asked. All of a sudden, Mauricio found a pair, in fact, two, and before I even asked, he suggested that he would get a picture of each of them to figure out which one I would like the tortoise pattern of better, and personally contacted the store and made a certain point of contact so they knew they would get that exact pair and get it over to the right lab and I have some crazy lens prescription and lo and behold. They turned out perfectly.! I was injured, and they didn't even know it, they actually brought the glasses out to my car MORE THAN ONCE! If you have a dog that likes to eat your glasses or not, this Lenscrafters will support your product, particularly if you buy the warranty, and I didn't know this, but if you need it more than once in a year, yes, you have to pay the small fee for the lens or the frame or both, but in my situation and when they even then just let me pick a new pair when the ones I had were discontinued, and now that my dog ate them again, I am able to pick a separate pair, I've never had luck at another glasses retailer--. I know there was another woman that was working late with Melissa once and they let me run and swap out the glasses at the last minute. It was like 950 or 850 whatever the cut off was, and at least once it was Melissa who brought the glasses to my car. I apologize if I'm forgetting anyone's name. The length in our actions I've had has been with Mauricio and Branard. Hopefully they're in charge in a lot of the store and if I needed a job, I I was thinking that back when I was in management somewhere, I would've actually tried to get them to come where I was at, and in reality, I should be the one looking there to work with them or for them, just for the ability to learn how to treat people that well! read more

I'm NOT a review complaint type, but what recently happened while in the Chandler Fashion Mall location was simply the absolute worst customer service and basic poor way to treat a loyal customer....So, here is my complaint. I purchased some expensive Oakley frames and therefore HAD to get their lenses!! Was told they came with the SCRATCH coat we used to have to pay for!! Well, after a few months of wear, my lenses are scratched all over!!! The Manager (She was the one who "helped" me) told me simply....you didn't purchase our protection warranty so there's nothing I can do! SO, I left and said I'd never come back! So, here's my thought....I have lenses that I bought a LC 10 years ago that had the scratch coat and there are ZERO scratches. NOW, the scratch coat is "Allegedly" included, BUT if you don't buy the LC protection warranty, you are screwed if your lenses get scratched!! OBVIOUSLY my lenses had ZERO scratch coating!!!! So, without the extra cost of their warranty I'm left having to buy new lenses!! Awesome!! Good job Lens Crafters...screw over your long time customers who are senior citizens!!! read more

Every time I have been to this location I've had a pleasant experience! The manager Brainard is amazing at what he does, so patient, overall just great service. The prices may be a little higher than other places but the quality of the frames is better, and our new glasses arrived very quickly. I typically stop in for adjustments; depending on the day and time I can get in and out in 5 minutes and other times it's a 20 minute wait. To be honest...I can't complain since they are adjusting my frames for free. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. They have a fair amount of selection but more than 50% of their stuff is Ray Ban. They take a variety of different insurance plans and also have both a lab and office onsite. read more

The entire experience was better than expected, going to a doctor. Made an appointment for a first time visit to the eye doctor. The technology was so efficient and clean, that I was with the doctor for less than 30 minutes. Fitted for a pair of glasses in another 30 minutes and picked up the prescription 5 days later. My last review is a bit old, and I still come here, so I figured I should update. I had to drop a star. Our past several stops here we've noticed that they are ALWAYS short-handed. If there are three people waiting, there seems to be one person on the floor (who has to handle adjustments, folks getting new glasses, or whatever). If there are five people waiting there are two people helping. This time they were particularly full -maybe 10 people- and only two seemed to be working the floor. I swear to you it didn't used to be that bad. I can remember seeing all four of their stations busy helping customers. Not anymore. Makes for long waits and a lot of "I'll be right with you". The staff appears to be doing their best, but they're just perpetually understaffed lately. The frame selection also seems to have declined a bit. They still have the same number of frames on display (as near as I can tell), but many are so similar as to be basically the same as many others. Not a lot of variety to the look of the frames now. While I was happy they brought Armani back (they make good frames...pricey, but good), the selection was extremely limited. I liked one, but it was only the one size (too big for me). Disappointing. Their fitting system is pretty high-tech now, using special markers attached to the frames to get the relevant measurements to grind your glasses for you. And they can take several images of you wearing different frames so you can compare side-by-side. That's nice. They do seem to stand behind their work, though they have tightened up their policies. But we have had very little trouble here, and on one occasion the manager personally handled it for us. He's not there all the time, but when he is there he is a take-charge guy who appears to want to have happy customers. read more

Lenscrafters at Chandler Mall is my go to place for all my vision needs. Dr. Patel is great and Ayla is the best optician you can find in the Valley. My daughter has a very complicated prescription and Ayla is unbelievably patient and thorough every single time. Everyone else is also very kind and helpful. They use a very advanced system of measuring the eyes and glasses and have a great selection of frames. We have a very good vision plan, but they always have discounts for those who don't. If you need an eye exam make sure to ask for Dr Patel. read more

SWINDLED in a big way by this company - whose motto is "We do everything we can to make it right" posted all over their store, a marketing LIE. Store manager called me in response to my reviews below (both here and on Google). His only suggested remedy was mention of a refund (which I do not want), or a "re-check by our doctor", which I've already had, TWICE. I ASKED HIM: IF YOU WERE ME: you've had 2 re-exams by the store's "optometrist", 3 separate WRONG prescriptions, necessitating 5 visits to the store, and they ADMITTED to having destroyed your expensive frames by too many (wrong) re-fittings of lenses: would YOU want a "re-check" by this obviously incompetent optometrist, or obviously incompetent lensmaker? The conversation ended with a confirmation that I have, in fact, been SWINDLED by this company and its "optometrist", Dr. Patel. And here's the best part, readers: This store manager WORKS for Lenscrafters, but is unable to give me contact information for anyone with a brain stem AT Lenscrafters, corporate office or parent company. Go ANYWHERE ELSE, readers, this Lenscrafters store and its purported "optometrist" WILL swindle you when given the chance. read more

Talk about understaffed. The doctor taking awhile I understand. But we picked out glasses and sat at a table for an hour. Which I understand being one one person was helping with fitting glasses while the other tried to go back and forth from the main counter. It's a busy mall. It's Wednesday morning. Where the hell are all your employees? Or at least have ones that can work effeciently and not sit with someone for over a half hour. I made an appointment because my friend recommended LensCrafters. When I made the appointment the gentleman I spoke with was very kind, professional and helpful. He did not want my insurance info when I suggested it to him. He said someone would call me back to confirm the appointment and get the insurance. No called me and my appointment was today so I just called this location and come to find out they are not in network, there is a $15 copay for VSP that only covers the eye exam nothing more. So the contact exam would be $78-$120 out of pocket then the contacts would be 100% out of pocket with hopes VSP would reimburse me. I am beyond frustrated since I am limited during Covid on where I can get eye exam and contacts. I took today off of work and VSP stated LensCrafters is known for not verifying insurance prior to a patient coming in! BEWARE! read more

I needed a quick adjustment on my eyeglasses and while the store was busy, I was in and out within a couple of minutes. Great service.

Setting: dust. Disarray. Tall blond woman going out of her way to be unhelpful. Mood: grumpy as you will be wiping off dirty, dusty glasses on your once-black, now-dusty brown clothing. Toni is the reason this isn't a 1-star review. After we sought help NOT from the blond woman, we found Toni. She was very cordial, helpful and apologetic for the absolute mess they are in with their renovation. Unfortunately, due to her or the person who actually made my lenses, the lenses were totally ruined and anyone looking through them sees up to 3 reflections per light that are viewable. A complete waste of 3 hours of my life selecting frames, waiting for them to be created, and then returning them (and even more fun, waiting for/hoping my insurance is credited back so I can get some glasses elsewhere that actually allow me to see). read more

I went in with the replacement warranty for my 2 glasses, there was a disagreement regarding the terms, and the junior employees were not accommodating. Kudos to the manager Mr. Berninard who handled the situation well, and listened to my concerns regarding replacing the frames under the warranty and paying out off pocket for the lenses. The level of service I received is second to none. I received a great eye exam from Dr Patel, very thorough and I love my contact lenses. There was a great selection of glasses to choose from. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and friendly. She took pictures with her ipad and emailed them to me so I could ask my wife which frame was the best, very cool. I took my son to this location. I called at the very last minute and they were able to get me in. My son is 6 so I was appreciative that the staff was kid friendly. I know it can be difficult when examining children as their attention can shift so quickly. The tech was very nice and patient with him. The Dr was engaging and very patient with him as well. The visit was done in a timely manner and convenient. The waiting area was clean and the offices were nice and organized too. We'll definitely return for future service. read more
