Went here a few months ago. Needed some work done with a good reputation and fair pricing. Tailoring can be very pricey at times if you look elsewhere. Bought a suit for a wedding that was going to take place on a Friday. I bought the suit Sunday. Did a little yelping and noticed that Amy has very satisfied customers and she did some good quality tailoring. Dropped by during my lunch time to drop the suit off and get sized. I was running out of time and I could only hope that she could get this done by Thursday as I was planning to leave for a wedding in Napa that same night. She was very nice and sweet and said usually it would be done ON Friday latest, but she said she would have it ready Wednesday, Thursday the latest. Thought to myself, hallelujah Amy is a beast! And it looks like she may be the only person operating and working there so I was more than happy that she was able to accommodate me with such short notice to have a blazer with the sleeves trimmed, shoulders lightened up, and a slightly slim fit at around the bottom of the blazer. Alongside the pants being shortened and tapered, to me I felt a break (phew). Came back and everything was perfect! And for a very fair price, I could not argue. The only downside is that she does not take any form of card or electronic payment. Which is ok because she will tell you how much she when it will be done so you have plenty of time to withdraw before it is finished. This is now my go-to tailor! I came in looking to bring in the waist of one pair of high-waisted jeans, one pair of paints with an elastic band, and one pair of shorts also with an elastic band. The price was right and she got all three done within a week, and they fit PERFECTLY! The shop is run by a Korean lady, who greeted me as soon as I came in and asked what I needed. Her English is very limited, but I was able to explain what I needed and she was very to-the-point about pricing and timeline. She had me try on my pants, pinned them up, and told me that they would be ready in five days. I ended up coming back to pick up a week later, after closing time no less, but a quick phone call and she accommodated to my schedule so that I could get my pants. When all was said and done, my pants now fit like a glove and I couldn't be happier! There is ample parking in the strip that the shop is located in. The shop does not accept credit card, so be sure to bring cash! I would prepare to encounter a language barrier if you do not speak Korean, so I would think longer for more complicated alterations. But if you're looking for a place to get something hemmed, tucked, or pulled in, I recommend this shop to everyone! read more

Brand new $90 dress ruined. At least she was nice when I picked it up. I was going to wear it to a wedding tomorrow, but she altered the straps too tight... which I told her I did not want, and sewed one back on twisted. She also removed the tags so now it will be hard to try to sell locally as new. read more

She gave me a blank stare the moment I walked in and when I explained to her what I wanted she immediately said "Sorry, no I can't do it." Then I asked for a reason at least and she said, "No." To top it off, I followed with another question, " Do you know of any other places that may be able to do it?" She goes, "No." again and rudely walks away and continues to do her work in the back table. Looking down, not acknowledging me or even thanking me for even considering her shop. The amount of disrespect, even when I was nice and polite. It's heartbreaking, because I was expecting her to be sweet as some of the reviews described her. read more

I rarely ever leave reviews because I normally have great experiences and I don't like saying negative things about others and their businesses. I came here and the lady working was rude and not very welcoming. I figured that's ok and let it go. After she completed the measurement she said the price was 20 then when I went to pay she told me 25. She was already rude to me and then on top of that trying to take advantage of me by raising the price. Another person came in while I was there and she was very welcoming to them. It felt like a racist situation but I can't say for certain why she had such rude behavior towards me. Horrible experience. read more

I just picked up my first batch of alterations and I'm dumbfounded by the quality of work. I showed up on Saturday with no appointment and a stack of suits and dress shirts in need of major adjustments. I have a horrific time buying dress shirts because my neck is 18" while my waist is 36", so anything off the rack usually results in a tent-like appearance. This wonderful seamstress turned my ill-fitting wardrobe into a finely tailored closet of colorful options. She shortened cuffs, slimmed down sleeves, and shaped each shirt to compliment my physique. I have an athletic build but prefer the tailored European look with my suits, and she's helped me to accomplish that with every single garment in only a week's time. I'm so glad I found this place via Yelp. The Korean owner is incredibly nice and works super-fast! I got two pairs of skinny jeans hemmed and a long-sleeved dress altered. She measured everything quickly and efficiently, gave me a copy of the quoted total ($30: $8 for each pair of jeans, and $14 for the dress), and I was out in five minutes flat. Two days later, they were ready for payment and pick-up. I was afraid altering the dress would present problems, since the material is stretchy, but the result was perfect. I'm completely satisfied. Note: be sure to bring cash, since no credit cards are accepted! The Perfect Tailoring store is a bit hidden, so after you enter the Serra Shopping Center plaza, just keep Big Lots on your left. I recently lost a button in the washer/dryer on one of my favorite shirts - I found this place on Yelp and decided to swing by to see if they could donate a button to my shirt. I went on a Saturday, and the owner, and really enthusiastic Korean lady, suggested we move a less used button on the sleeve to replace the one I lost, then replace the moved button with a new button. Unfortunately, I was going to be out of the country on Monday, so I needed it done that day. She offered to have it done in 20min, so I went nearby to grab a sandwich and came back to a completely finished shirt. The best thing was, the new button looked almost exactly like the lost one! When I asked how much, she said no charge! This is what I call service - I have a ton of sleeves I need shortened, so I'll be back soon! read more

First time around she altered my suit beautifully and in such time crunch. She could have easily taken advantage of me but she charged me such minimal fee ($40) to hem the length of the sleeves and pants length. I normally take my suits to the alterations department at nordstroms for complimentary alterations as a cardholder but since they were backed up on previous jobs it left me scrambling everywhere to find a last minute tailor . I was so happy with her previous work that i recently sent 2 more suits her way. Everything was great except 1 jacket. The sleeves were obviously too long and when i brought it up to her she insisted that i asked for that length and that is how it should be . i mean that would work on someone who wears a suit once in a while , but i wear my suits very often so unless ive been wrong my entire life and the other tailors are wrong then i gladly accept her argument. After going back and forth for a while i just paid her and took the coat right back to nordstroms. I dont doubt shes a great seamstress but maybe be a little more open to her customers? read more

I recently had two pairs of dress pants hemmed here. This is a small shop nestled in a similarly small shopping center. I never had any issues finding parking here. As you enter Perfect Tailoring you will notice that its a small operation. It's one large room where you can see everyones clothes hanging on racks, and the single dressing room is behind a curtain next to the counter. Luckily when I came to drop the pants off there weren't any other customers and I got taken care of quickly. I tried the pants on and together we agreed on a good length. The lady working here is very sweet, and also very quiet. I know she can understand English well, but not sure how well she can speak it. Although, hemming pants is a relatively simple alteration so this wasn't an issue for me. When i picked the pants up the woman was helping another girl with alterations on a dress, so unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try my pants on. I paid $18 for both pants. The alteration came out great, all the stitching looked just as good as the original. The woman informed me she could finish them in one day, however I was out of town and had to come a few days later. Sounds like a quick turn around here though. UPDATED REVIEW: I just dropped off a faux fur vest today and I need it done in 2 days which she accommodated without charge - and she had it ready in time. Maybe she's just too nice and accepts everyone's rush request which is why some of the other orders get pushed back. Anyway, she's definitely redeemed herself and i'm updating the review to 5* :) I'll def come back for the convenience and price, and even if I need items by a certain date, I will still probably come - but just make it known clearly that I definitely need my items by such and such date. BTW - The faux fur vest alteration cost only $35 to take in the sides and shorten the length in the front, I checked another alterations place and they were going to charge me $200?! That's more than the vest even cost... I didn't see any alteration reviews on yelp for "faux fur" stuff so I'll update my review with results after I get it back :) -- FYI, the vest fit great. Will def be back for all my alterations needs! -------------------------------- Alterations here are quick and easy (and cheap!). I'd really like to give a 5 because the tailoring here is excellent but its happened to me 2x that my clothes weren't ready by the time they were supposed to be - and I didn't request rush or anything. Both times I went, none of my clothes' alterations had been started yet. It's not a huge hassle for me because I work nearby so I can come back easily, but if I didn't it could be an inconvenience. Also as others mentioned, the Korean lady's English is somewhat limited. It's usually pretty easy to get your point across and come to an agreement, but if you're doing something complicated, bring a Korean speaking person :P read more

Being on the shorter end of the spectrum, nothing ever fits. Everything is always too long and too big so finding a new tailor. After moving from SF to SJ, I was in search for a new tailor. I love perfect tailoring because the lady is so sweet and always has a smile on her face. Even though her English is limited, she still understands what I need done and always delivers. Prices are competitive for bay area prices and she can get things done within a week. Parking is in a lot and there is plenty of it. Cash only here! read more

The Korean lady who works here is concise and straight to the point. You don't need to bargain with her or anything because her prices are very reasonable. I have been here twice, both for wedding event dresses. I had to get one dress taken in, and the other hemmed. I spent maybe less than 2 minutes in the shop. Not sure where this "sweet Korean lady" as described in other reviews was; I was greeted with a blank stare that more or less said "what do you want". Maybe annoyed at me for interrupting her work? $ - Asked about hemming and tailoring a pair of pants and was told $20. I said "that might be a little much for me" and she threw her hands up with an "okay" and turned away, not even trying to attempt any business with me. I get that tailoring is honest work and deserves to be paid off as such, but this lady here needs to work on her customer skills. I barely took up any of her time yet was treated with exasperation as if I were a royal pain in the ass customer. Good luck running your business with this kind of approach. I came here just because my regular alteration place was closed for the day. I was in dire need to get my pants repaired so I found this small place! I was a bit iffy at first because it was a new place, but once I went inside.. the lady smiled at me and said hello (which always makes a good first impression!)! I tried my pants on and I asked her shorten them + taper them a little bit. She said the pants would be ready in two days! I got the pants back not expecting much but they fit perfectly! It's hard to find a reasonably priced tailor that you can trust with anything. I've gotten chinos, blazers, jeans, button ups tailored here and I've been 100% satisfied with all of it. And the lady that works here finishes tailoring your clothing in a fairly timely manner and can get things done quickly done if it's urgent and you let her know. She's also the sweetest ever. Got my Halloween costume tailored here and the lady did a really good job. There was this elastic in the chest area that wasn't centered, she even noticed dthat and fixed it too. Only thing is that they do NOT accept credit cards, so make sure to bring cash or a check. The ladty there was super nice, and they got it done in a day and I was able to pick it up the following day if i wanted to. It was also very cheap! only $16 dollars to tailor the dress, granted it wasn't very hard work, but still thought it was very decently priced. The owner did quick work on snugging up a dress for me before a friend's wedding. I think she only charged me $10 to take in the bustline -- Serra Tailoring nearby charged me $20 for the same work on a similar dress (I bought two of the same dress with different prints).
