RED WINE BRAISED SHORT RIB OF BEEF
    Taylor J.

The staff at Perbacco sure do know how to make a girl feel like a princess! What an outstanding time I had here for my solo dinner in the city. Made a reservation for 6:15pm and was running late (darn traffic) so I called up and they were so nice and accommodating to my tardiness. When I arrived, they had a nice table waiting for me. I was eyeing the bar since normally I'm a girl who loves a bar seat, but it was nearly full and TBH this was one of those rare circumstances that the table was the best option. I noticed a few other solo diners this night, so clearly they do a great job at catering to us. To start, I had the Saturn's Moon cocktail. Super tasty! If you're into a smokey Mezcal drink, this one is it. I paired this with my starting dish of the Arancini and they made a perfect pair. The Arancini was crispy, delicious and sat on a dollop of a delicious sauce. Next, I had the citrus salad. Also very good! Juicy orange slices, arugula, nuts, pickled onions, and fennel. This was the perfect little palate cleanser after the arancini and before my main course. I asked my server, Edward, what drink he'd recommend to pair with this salad and he sent out a Perbacco cocktail. Citrusy and refreshing, so these together were great! For my main, I had their delicious short rib! This was incredible and so so tender. The maître d' offered me a steak knife for this that I most definitely didn't need, it was so fork tender! So yummy, with a few carrots and onions on the side. I asked Edward (again) for the beefiest red they had and he gave me a few options. The one I picked went perfect with the shortrib! To finish, I had a great little glass of port! Absolutely perfect ending to a great meal! Super wonderful night over at Perbacco! From the time I walked in, The maître d', to the hostess, my server, Edward all treated me like royalty. One thing about me is I'm a customer service lover and this place from start to finish was an incredible experience. I had such a great time and since I'm always in San Fran for work, this will be one of my go-to spots for a nice dinner!

My coworkers and I always have a great experience at Perbacco! This visit, we really enjoyed everything we ordered. We started with the caesar and arancini, and both were delicious. The caesar was well balanced (looks less dressed than it was), and the arancini were a standout--the sauce was creamy, addicting, and something we couldn't stop dipping into. For mains, we ordered the pappardelle, tajarin, and langaroli, and each dish impressed in its own way. *The pappardelle was excellent, though we recommend getting the horseradish cream on the side. The horseradish flavor is mild, but it could easily become overpowering depending on your preference. *The tajarin had the perfect balance of meat and noodles and was surprisingly very filling. *The langaroli were like little pasta pillows--soft, rich, and comforting. The truffle butter was absolutely heavenly and well balanced that it didn't become overwhelming after a few bites. This was hands down my favorite pasta dish of the ones we ordered. They offer Parmesan at the table, and while it may seem like a lot at first, trust them--they know what they're doing. You'll definitely find yourself wanting more cheese. Overall, this is a solid spot with great food and service, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Noise Level: moderately loud Just about everything was perfect for this dinner. Our server Jamie was personable and efficient. The Italian 75 and Mamma Mia cocktails were great. The Acme bread and parmigiano butter were delicious. The butter was nice and soft, yay. The Little Gem Salad was great, delicate and not overly dressed. Our Tajarin and Agnolotti dishes were perfectly delicious, seasoned well. The fingerling potatoes were also great. Loved the duck fat making the potatoes very tasty. Roasted perfectly. The Butternut Squash Budino was great. Nice sweetness from the squash. The Brutti Ma Buoni was also very good. Very light. Can make a mess and shatter if you don't cut it right! The atmosphere was lively, and also elegant. We had a great time here and would love to come back.

This spot, located near the edge of FiDi and North Beach, features modern Italian food. The atmosphere and decor present an up-scale vibe, with a clear focus on sophistication and elevated service. The food itself is solid, with rich creamy pastas such as the tajarin, however, for the price you could probably get some tastier options in North Beach by paying slightly more. As a whole, this is a great spot for team gatherings or other events where you're looking to host large parties, while also having pretty good food. Worth checking out if you haven't been.

This was my first time at Perbacco. All ingredients are fresh and high quality. After receiving the Fritto Misto and the brussels sprouts as appetizers, it took a while (close to 40 minutes as an estimate) for our entrees to arrive. The brussels sprouts and Fritto Misto were both quite dry and not too flavorful, though the entrees made up for it. The Agnolotti was very much an elevated classic comfort food that had the perfect level of savory flavors. While it was good, I do think visual presentation of the entrees could be improved with extra garnish on top. For dessert, we ordered the Brutti Ma Buoni which was excellent - the powdered sugar exterior was lightly crunchy but tends to melt in your mouth while the inside was chewier and sticks to the roof of your mouth. This is definitely a common corporate dinner spot since it's in the Embarcadero and has higher prices as a result. Otherwise, this was a decent dinner overall and I'd recommend it to my coworkers when planning a celebratory team dinner.

One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, the drinks were excellent, and the service was easily one of the highlights of the night. My friend and I were treated like queens. The place was busy, so it was a bit lively, but nothing overwhelming. I can't wait to come back!

Date of Visit: 9/5/2025 Visited Perbacco with our friends on a Friday evening. Perbacco is an Italian word for pleasure and surprises, which is how the restaurant wants to present to all the customers. Perbacco introduces Italian flavors in a modern way, with a great selection of food and wine. The owner Umberto Gibin shared his passion for Italian food and wine with Americans' ways of preparation. He opened many of California's finest Italian restaurants, including Chianti, and Poggio, and Perbacco and Gibin. Saturn's Moon $17 Husband got the Saturn's Moon made with Mezcal, lemon, orgeat, and passion fruit. The mixture of Mezcal with citrus fruits was amazing. Passione Tropicale $8 I ordered the passion fruit mocktail that mixes lemon, orange juice and passion fruit. A little bit on the sweeter side. Piastra Roasted Octopus $22 We ordered the roasted octopus for appetizer, with olive oil crushed potatoes, fennel, radish, and pickled onions on the side. There are a total of 4 pieces of octopus with salsa verde. Tajarin $29 We got one spaghetti, made with the hand cut thin tagliatelle, and 5 hour pork and porcini mushroom sugo. Risotto $34 We ordered the risotto which was very yummy. Risotto mixed with golden chanterelle mushrooms, yellow corn, pancetta, and parmigiano Reggiano. Love the way that yellow corn makes the risotto stand out with texture and complexity. Liberty Farm Duck Breast $40 And for the secondi, we ordered the liberty farm duck breast with stone fruit panzanella, arugula, frisee and duck jus. The duck breast was a little too thick so was not as tender and juicy. Overall it was ok.

Really enjoyed my dinner here. Great attention to detail from all of the staff, and timely service.

Perbacco is a fantastic lunch spot in the Financial District if you're craving classic, authentic Italian food. You can't go wrong with the burrata plate. I don't often finish a plate of pasta, but I enjoyed every last bite of the pesto pasta here. Of course, a meal isn't complete without dessert, so the sorbetto was a perfect, refreshing finish.

    Rabaton gnocchi
    CeCee S.

This is touted as an upscale Italian restaurant. I went after work and so did everyone else it seems. The crowd was dressed business casual to casual. The bar was lively and crowded. The lighting was dim/moody. There were table cloths and linen napkins. Our waiter spoke in Italian. He was very over the top and engaging. I ordered the amichi mocktail. Sweeter than I like but I enjoyed it. I ordered the Rabaton gnocchi for my entree. The gnocchi was cheesy and tender but the sauce was a bit too flat/ bland for me. You get a pretty good helping. I only ate half and was too full for dessert. I'd give the place another try. Maybe next time try a meat dish.

Loved dining here. Service was great and the food was great. I got the tortelloni and my portion was a little small. If you are a light eater, this would be a great option! I really enjoyed the mint flavor in pasta. It was light and refreshing, which was a great contrast to the pappardelle which was more hearty. The salads were good, but nothing special. I also felt like the salad portions were small for the price. The dining by room was pretty crowded but I was happy to be able to still have conversations without feeling like I need to shout or be too quiet. Overall, a nice experience for a dinner date or an elevated Italian dinner with friends!

snack and antipasti list, main menu. Some of these were also on happy hour food offer
    Chris L.

Wow, literally! Haven't been to this Italian gem in many years but it still shines. Came in for happy hour (4-6pm) and sat at the bar. 3 wines were on the special price list and I chose the Toscano (Sangiovese). For $10 this was an easy yet impressive wine. Several food options on the HH menu: Arancini in tomato sauce and prosciutto di Parma served with mozzarella. Couldn't resist the Fritto Misto as well. These 3 would have been sufficient for snacks but we also opted for octopus off of the dinner menu. Everything prepared perfectly along with a very attentive and quick-witted bartender made our early evening special.

Absolutely love and crave this pasta now. What a spectacular Italian restaurant and out of this world service and food. The only thing that was just meh was the bar nuts. They were very plain nuts. But the appetizer and pasta were phenomenal. Beautiful ambience and wonderful team was the cherry on top of the sundaes

Most of the staff were kind and accommodating women who routinely refilled your water. Even the bar seating wasn't too bad nor crowded! Definitely make a reservation! Now I'm personally not too concerned with pastas, I always think it's better to make it at home and not my first choice to seek it when eating out. But the pasta here is so flavorful, just perfect down to the texture and portion size. To start, we got the Hokkaido scallops with preserved lemon and sea beans. Refreshing and satisfies. For the pastas, we ordered the Cencioni with five mushroom sugo. A mix of cremini, shiitake, oyster, and porcini mushrooms with a deep, umami-rich flavor that's paired so well with crisps, a perfect pasta!! We also ordered the Paccheri alla vodka with tomato, cream, and nduja. Silky and a bit spicy, super delicious. I would most definitely come here again, this is probably my favorite Italian spot so far, ever. It's that good. I'm not even a pasta fanatic nor go out of my way to get Italian, but this place exceeded all my expectations.

We ordered a lot of food items. Standout: -Grilled Monterey Bay Calamari ($22) - Nice pieces of grilled calamari in a stew of white beans and very high quality olive oil. -Pane a Pala ($7 + $9 for ricotta dip) - the bread was amazing - fresh and wonderfully textured. I'd say this bread pairs very well with the grilled calamari & beans - the dip is forgettable. Okay: -Pizza Margherita ($24) - This was okay. The crust was super crunchy and I don't remember the toppings being very stand out flavor-wise. -Wood-Grilled Short Rib ($86) - HUMONGOUS, but too charred for my taste. -Spaghetti Pomodoro ($27) - this was super tart for my taste. -Tagliatelle al Ragù Nostrano ($33) - This was good but nothing to write home about. Pricey - as all nicer restaurants in SF are. The interior is very cute.

If you love plants you'll adore Arcana in San Francisco because it's a beautiful sanctuary of…read moreplants and cool vibes. Located in the legendary Mission District of San Francisco, this wine bar is a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy small bites and yummy crafted cocktails. Their decor is very chic and I especially loved all of the hardware, glasses, tables, and benches. This place was styled by a great design artist. Even though the place was pretty packed and can be kind of noisy, I still felt very calm amongst all the healthy plants and loved the sophisticated 70s inspired glassware. Another great feature of this place is that you can buy most of the plants because they have some for sale so after a couple of cocktails, I was ready to redecorate my whole house with all the plants. I ordered a yummy Rose blend that was super crisp. Also enjoyed the Truffle Fungi! A delicious Shiitake and oyster mushrooms with parmesan and arugula on toasted bread. Their Spanish inspired potatoes were delicious with their dipping sauce. They have lots of gatherings there and DJ sets on the weekends. Lastly, a photographer would die to take pictures here. There is no bad shot as the design artist made sure every section of this cute wine bar was picture perfect. Loved all my photos and videos. I look forward to returning to this exquisite wine bar!

I love the decor of this space! It is definitely intentionally and tastefully decorated. Loved the lighting and plants. They had Lord of the Rings playing on the wall. The vibe is artsy, warm, a little dark, and overall a cool place to mingle. The bathrooms and tables were kept clean. I liked it that the DJ was live mixing. Getting a drink was fast and easy. The high top tables were a bit wobbly, so we spilled half a drink on there. The drinks are strong. I recommend going upstairs to sit instead if you want to hear your friends better. The tables are bigger up there too. The rooftop was closed off but I'd like to check it out sometime.
